"Ten meters tall isn't really too big for a Rancor, I saw a few bigger than that on Datho-"
Stepping forwards to lean over the shoulders of Cole and Dante, Kai ran his fingers along what appeared to be a claw mark along the tree. He hadalmost let his big mouth run off in directions he didn't want to go just now.
"But the length... If we were thinking exotic carnivores, it kind of puts me into thinking Krayt. A young one deffinetly but..."

"Think bigger. I can't work it out. its not a Krayt dragons claw... not enough scratches and its too high up..." Dante said, looking at the scratches again. He pushed himself off the tree and turned around, walking backwards until he was standing beside Kai.
"Only about 10% of the natural of wildlife are still alive. Which would stick with the old rancor theory but... well the scans showed a creature thats 25 meters long. Like I said... Krayt dragon is a good guess except for the details."
Dante yawned. "Not goign into moenia then?" he said, noting the clothes.

Cole pulled out the holocom to study the data once again. The population of wildlife has been in rapid decline for several weeks already. Cole began to wonder if the creature they're dealing with has stuck to wildlife, or... "Wait! Moena's not too far from here. You don't think.... well I'm sure the locals would know something. I just hope it's not from close encounters." Cole interjected.

Remaining silent although his brother had asked him a question, Kai took a step back and looked around him at the forest. It was clear that this was a regular path for whatever had made the forest its home, branches were smashed off of trees and bushes had been trampled, but he searched further than that.
"I don't think so..."
It took him time, more time than he thought possible considering the normal business of a forest, but he finally found something. Peaceful, powerful, a herbivore yet one big enough to avoid most trouble. "Please, come." It was more of an image than words yet emotions went behind it, calm, gentle, a picture of the surrounding area. Despite the reluctance he felt, the creature was obviously not afraid of humans as the Jedi could feel it approaching.
"If it is okay with you all, I would preffer to stay here. If the creature is about then I can stop it from hurting anyone while you gather intel. at the very least."
'Communicating' with animals was the first skill Kai had ever learned, the one he showed the most talent in, and it wasn't a surprise to him when an Ikopi pushed its twisting antlers through an undestroyed bush and slowly approached.
"Or just make friends..."

Kokushi just stood in the back of the group, away from them a bit, Triskal hadn't spoken with him yet, and Kokushi was thinking of what he'd say to her if she did It should be easier since...yeah, easier to talk to.. Kokushi then heard the discussion going on within the group "um..?" Kokushi muttered to himself, he had missed a few things it seemed.

"Well then..." Dante said, a little put off that his brother wasnt coming with him to deal with this woman. "... I guess all I can say is try not to go further into he forest without us." he sighed, turning back to the direction of the city.
"I suggest we split into two groups of three. Me, Cole and... whoever wishes to come, shall go to the cantina, and Kai, Kokushi and the remaining person stay here and try to work it all out. whats been taking people. the creature could still be a cover for some group."
Dante turned towards Moenia again. "Whenever your ready guys."

Cole noticed that Kida had stayed back from him, Kai, and Dante. Kokushi wasn't too far behind her. While Dante worked out a plan of action and Kai connected with one of the "locals", Cole walked over to Kida and Kokushi with the holocom in one hand. He projected an image that showed a display of the creatures that are native in the area and numbers, along with other info.
"I performed a scan of the area after we landed. According to the results, local wildlife's population has been in rapid decline for weeks. There's an unidentified... object... creature... whatever... that also registered, posting heat signatures far different from native creatures. This creature seemed to be 25 meters long and 10 meters tall. I walked out here and found Dante examining that..." Cole eplained, finally pointing to the claw marks on the tree trunk that Dante was standing next to. "Dante proposes a trip to the nearest town to collect info."

((i gotta run a few errands so any one in my party can rp for me for now. i'll catch up tomorrow. cole's nature is to stay back and let someone of higher ranking do the talking, as was the case when he and kai went on their first mission together (nameless). if a fight should erupt, cole's tendency is to use strictly force powers, pulling out his lightsaber only as a last resort. have a pleasant evening, folks.))

(Speaking of which, I'll post in it tomorow Cole I promise!)
"I am a friend." Again, not actual words but feelings and pictures although this time they were not of Humans but of other ikopi grazing together. After a moments hesitation the creature moved to stand in front of Kai, its head raised and its golden coat gleaming in the sunshine.
"We both know that I don't do well with informants brother, I promise to save you a piece of the action though."
That was purely a joke, Kai didn't intend to engage this creature in combat unless it was in the defense of someone elses, or something elses, life. He could run away from it, trap it, but they were after answers first of all.
"Not all of the local inhabitants have ran though it seems..."

Kida looked over at Kai, the claw mark, then Dante. She had already made up her mind, but took in everything that Cole had to say first. Even after that, she didn't change where she was going.
"I'll go with you." She stepped forward. Kida slipped of her Jedi robes, praising herself for putting on a decent shirt underneath. She ran back and tossed the robes just inside the ship before jogging back over to Cole and Dante.
"Ready then." Kida nodded.

"Dante nodded. Very well. Moenia is about a kilometer in this direction... we should be able to arive before lunch." he said, begining to walk.
Dante was about 3 meters away when he stopped, turned around and raised his voice to make sure the other three heard him. "Kai. You see this creature you do NOT confront it."
he smiled, like he was really in charge of this mission.
He turned back towards the city and continued to walk. he spoke again, but not as loud, quietly in fact so that only Kida and cole were able to hear. "This is a long walk... I think that we should take a short cut..."
He moved his hand to Kida's shoulder and then force grasped his left arm and moved it onto Cole's shoulder.
Dante blinked. and the shadowey smoke that covered his arm covered the rest of his body and Kida and Coles, and then they dissappeared.
Moments later, on the outskirts of the city three shadows uncovered three people. Dante imediately released the two jedi. he re-adjusted his shirt and continued to move.

Kida rolled her eyes at Dante's attempt to be in charge. Kai was the beast mater, if anyone should know what to do, it would be him.
"A short cut?" It took her a moment to truly grasp what he meant, and by then it was too late to protest. The smoke overcame her, and she closed her eyes.
She did dare open them for a while. Not until she felt Dante's hand lift off her shoulder. Even then, she couldn't understand why he just walked forward so casually. Kida stood there, dumbfounded for a moment, then looked over at Cole. "How can he get used to that?"
She shrugged and they followed up behind Dante.

"I'm used to it because I have had no choice but to be used to it." Dante said, pausing as he reached the end of the alleyway he had walked down. he turned to looke back at kida and Cole. Cole had allready begun following.
"when im not at full strength my phasing powers cause me to jump around... im used to it."
Dante turned back towards the street. "Excuse me" he said as a man was passing. he stopped and looked dante up and down. "Yeah, could you tell me where Ms Benz Cantina is."
"Ah, the cantina is the third building on your right that way." he said, pointing off towards the centre of Moenia.
"Thanks."

That shut Kida up quickly. She hadn't meant it to sound wrong, and more or less was just a comment to Cole. But she knew Kai was right so she didn't want to jump up and justify her actions. They needed to just stay on task.
"Any reason why we are going to the cantina?" She asked hesitantly.

"Elder Jar-jar explaind that the person we're here to see is here. Lortha Benz. I'm not sure of her significance but... well thats where we're going." Dante spoke calmly and carefully. He still didnt know what was going on. not really.
Dante began walking again, staring at the floor for a short time as they passed a small detatchment of storm troopers.
He saw the cantina. it had two low-life security agents on the door, probably checking for weapons. they wouldnt be a problem.
"Heres the deal." Dante said as Cole and Kida cought up. "we go in, we get the info and we dont make a scene... got it?"
