Fool Me Twice

Boan was too into his conversation with the girl to understand what the healer said at first, but he though about it for a second and jumped. The healer had already gone into the Inn! s**t! “I need to go do something, and I don’t think you want to hang out with this guy here,” He pointed to Ebon, “And you’re probably hungry, so buy whatever food you want and don’t worry about the cost. I’ll be right back!” He nodded to Eni, smiled, and ran into the Inn. Hopefully she wouldn’t think he didn’t want to talk to her anymore. Boan shot through the Inn as fast as he could without breaking furniture, reached the stairs, and ran up those.

It only took a few seconds to climb the twenty stairs but it felt like minutes, and when eh was finally on the second floor he ran as fast he could to Blade’s room. He could see the healer about to enter, and yelled out just as the man started to open the door. “Don’t open that door!” It wasn’t really a yell, it was in more of a normal voice, but it was loud enough in the empty hall. He finally got to the door and stuck his hand out in front of the healer so that he couldn’t go in.

“I know that you’re a healer and it’s your job to try and heal people, but many have tried to help her and it doesn’t work. You can’t fix what Magic won’t stop breaking. And if you open the door you’ll let light in, which would be like stabbing her in the eye with a cattle prod.” Boan took a breath and relaxed a little, while moving a little more of his body in front of the door to block any light that may have entered the little space that had opened. “But… I’m not sure if it’s right to stop you from trying… The damage is internal. Do you have anything that can help numb it, something she can swallow? I’m not sure if you should try anything else.” He kept one ear close to the open part of the door in case Blade said anything, because she could probably hear Him, and if she wanted the healer to try then it wasn’t his place to stop the man. Boan was worried about her, and he had seen the woman do this at least four times. He knew what happened to her, even if he didn’t know how it felt. At least he could understand the part about the light.

Blade shifted her head when she heard someone at the door, followed by a voice. She'd never been called "Miss Blade" before, and the name sounded awkward. But her mind didn't really focus on that too much. He was going to open the door, and the door meant that light was going to enter the room. Blade screamed out into the cloth as some of the light spilled into the floor, though it was muffled through the cloth that she had pressed against her lips. She pushed herself further into the corner, even though she knew that it wouldn't make anymore of a difference because she was already pushed in as far as she could go. She shut her eyes hard and moved her head down so that way the light would stop touching her eyes.

They felt swollen now, although she knew that they actually weren't. The light continued burning for what felt like forever until Boan stepped to block out the light. She suddenly felt like kissing the man for what he'd done. The burning in her eyes lasted for a while but fizzled out, and now the pain was finally gone. She took in a deep breath, shuddering once before she coughed a few times, making her cloth dirty with blood once again.

Blade really, really didn't want for the door to open. She made a gester with her hand and pushed a small wave of heat into the door that pushed it shut by making the air smack itself against it.

"Please don't come in...." Blade called out just loud enough for the healer to hear her and coughed several times before she spoke again. "...The light will burn me...."

Eni nodded her head at Boan, she felt bad for Blade but at the same time, she really didn't bother to care. Blade didn't like her and Eni didn't want the spawn hunter to think that she was showing Blade some sort of pity. So watching Nago and Boan entered inn, Eni shifted her eyes to Ebon, who was still turned away. What was wrong that guy? Everyone was so strange and odd.

Eni turned her attention to Aiko when she was addressed. How long had Aiko been standing there? She felt horrible for making the young lady waited. Listening hard to the question and the name Blade, Eni simply pointed toward the inn and said, "Follow the two men, they too are looking for Blade." She gave Aiko a smile, she wanted to join the group? That would be great, at least there would another person that she was okay with.

Stepping up closer toward Aiko but still giving Ebon a last look, Eni almost muttered an apology to Ebon, but didn't find the reason to. So she walked into the inn, wondering where the twins were.

((So, Blade is chatting/argueing with Boan. They haven't touched Rina, yet? And Eni is somewhere near them? I'll throw rina and Rani into a room.))

Rina had lost enough blood to make her very tired. The moment they got to the inn, Rina took to her bed and drifted to sleep. Not caring as much if she saw a healer too soon. Rina hung around Eni as much as she could till she slept. She found her presence calming and lovable. In her sleep, she dreampt of her family along with Eni. Her family's house was situated right next to a lake, so they could have water fights. Rani was in the water just floating, looking into the sky. Bade and the others were in the background, but still having fun. Slowly, Rina stalked to Eni, whom had her back to Rina from her spot in the water. Useing her water manipulation to dranch Eni with water. Just before Eni turned to look at Rina in her dream, she awoke with a start.
Rani was sleeping in the bed next to her. His snoreing was loud to Rina because of her ringing ears. Rina stood slowly and gingerly, the sheet over her falling to the floor. She took up her walking stick and limped over to the door. She opend it and looked into the scene before her. Rina blinked sleepily and set to looking for Eni.

Nago was stopped by Boan from entering, and he looked at him. His logic was very good, and as he listened, he got information on what she had been through before. "If magic keeps breaking it, then magic can fix it again." He said softly, looking at Boan. "I may not be able to make a permanate fix, but if I can make a fix every time this happens, then she would be able to live without this pain. I have more arrows in my quiver then most healers have, since I heal from the inside. My healing... Coaxes the body to heal faster then it would, for the body to fight the infection smarter then it would, to piece back the mucles and the flesh faster then it would. My healing does nothing more then what the body would do on its own." He told Boan. That was the way his magic worked, and that was the way he healed. He had been about to threaten Boan to step aside, when a weak, yet still strong voice called from inside. It was blade, talking about the light.

"Then I will come in when the light is gone." Nago said stubornly. In his mind, Blade was injured. She couldn't take care of her injuries, for some reason or another, otherwise, she would have. She needed his help, and he would give it to her. He walked over to the wall beside the door, and sat down. Since the light would make it worse, there was no reason for him to go anywhere. Looking up at Boan, he said "When the girl with the injuried leg comes, fetch me. I will heal her. Untill then, I will not leave this spot till the sun sets."

The sound of a door opened up near by, and Nago looked up. When he did so, he spotted a young girl walking by. He shifted, moving his legs closer, till he spotted a freash looking burn on the girl's leg. He stood, and looked at her for a moment. "Excuse me miss, are you Rini or Rina?" Nago asked her. He didn't remember her name exactly. If she was, then he was to heal her.

Aiko watched the group disperses in front of her from what she could see after Blade. Something must of been up or terribly wrong. She smiled towards Eni who answered her before leaving herself. Aiko sighed once again...alone. She lifted her head looking at Ebon who eyes were locked on the sky. For some reason she now felt down with the thought of being alone. With Ebon near it made her feel somewhat better but one person was never enough. Taking a deep breath she pushed aside her sadness and shook her head.

Aiko finally managed to make herself feel better and rather not rush to Blade with so many other people doing so themselves. She turned heading towards the Black Smiths shop she had been to earlier. She was sure he had to be done with them by now. She smiled and waved towards the few passing people feeling better the more she did so. People always made her feel better. She pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear nearing the black smith.

Rina was just to turn and speak with the one that just spoke with her. Before she did she saw Eni walk into the inn. Grinning a sheepish grinn, Rina limped into Eni to wrap her arms around her neck. "Hey, Eni." Rina said while her knees began to bend to the floor.

Rani woke with a huge cramp in his back. The blonde grunted, cracking his back still on the bed. He glanced over to Rina's bed, only to see she was gone. Rani exited the room into the hall. Following in the direction of the lobby, Rani saw the healer just as Rina ignored him. In slight iritablility for his sister, the blonde approched the healer. "You'll have to excuse Rina. She rarely gets hurt and goes a little wierd after having something happen. Just hope that she doesn't strangle Eni before you get to her."

Eni was a little shocked and surprised at the affectionate hug of Rina. She hadn't expected it at all. In fact, she was so stunned that she stood frozen for sometimes, her hands in mid-air, wondering if she should hugged Rina back. But Eni figured she should...if she wanted to make friends with new people, she should show some affections.

So wrapping her arms around Rina's thin frame, Eni smiled and said, "Yes, Rina? You do feel better, yes?" She pulled away slowly, not wanting to hurt Rina in case Nago hadn't gotten to her yet. She looked at Rina face-to-face and asked, "Where have you all this time been? I look for you earlier." She tilted her head and somewhat wondered where Rina's twin brother was. She hoped they didn't get separated.

Breaking off the hug as it still felt somewhat odd and foreign to the robed girl, Eni looked up the stairs and saw the feet of two people. She wondered if that was Rani and Nago. So nodding at Rina, Eni was ready to help Rina up the stairs to Nago.

Rina slowly let go of Eni's neck and stood as centered as she could. "I think I went straight to the inn. I got tired. Sorry." Rina glanced up the stairs with sleepy eyes, spotting her brother she yelled up. "Hey, Rani." Getting his attention, Rina made a hand motion asking for him to go down to her. Rani turned back to the healer. "I think we should heal her now. Is there anything you need?"

Boan followed the healer’s example and took a seat in front of Blade’s door. He lifted his hand up and examined it, now looking through the skin and muscles to see the bone. It was a helpful ability, to see through things. He could see right into his own body to find out what the problem was. Boan sighed and turned his head to the healer. He looked like a good guy… but so did a lot of people. “I might be able to help you… I meant, you probably have your own way of figuring out what the problem is, but I can see in to the body as if the skin did not exist. I can see through most things, really, except for lead and a few other types of metal…”

Even though he could change the way he saw things, his eyes were always sensitive to light. What Blade was feeling now, the pain she felt when she saw light, was exactly what he felt when he took his blindfold off during the day. “People usually think I’m blind.” Boan was pretty sure Eni thought he was blind. The blind wore cloth over their eyes the same way he did. There was no reason to think he could actually see until you saw the way he moved.

By the time the light would completely disappear, Blade's sickness would probably be gone. It depended, really. Sometimes she'd just get sick for an hour, ten minutes, sometimes she'd be stuck for over a week. The worse was two weeks. Normally the illness didn't last for very long, and after it finished she'd just fall asleep. She was tired, incredibly tired, but the pain that she felt didn't allow her to fall asleep. She wished that she could fall asleep, but then again when you were sleeping with pain your dreams were almost always infested with nightmares. Nightmares were usually better than feeling pain, but if your nightmares were about past memories or Tidal, they felt extremely real. It would be better to just stay awake for now. Even if she felt as if her insides were shredding themselves apart.

Blade took in a deep breath and rested her head against her knees while she listened to what was happening beyond her door. Boan was saying that he could help by using his strange sight abilities to look through her skin to see what the problem was. As she heard this she reached up and wrapped her hand around her neck where her leather collar was. She didn't want him to see what lay underneath there. She would have to get some kind of metal or lead and put it beneath her collar so he wouldn't be able to look through it. Or, maybe just a cloth. She knew that there was some kind of special materials that he couldn't see through, or at least that was what he'd told her before. Maybe it wasn't true now. Sticking with metal would be best. Lead, too.

It sounded as if Rina and Rani had been inside of the inn the entire time, mostly sleeping. Blade hoped that she hadn't hurt Rina too badly by burning her. But when the situation calls for it you just have to do some things... but that still didn't mean that Blade had enjoyed doing it. Burns were constantly painful and tender, depending on how bad it was.

Blade sighed before she gave out another violent coughing spree. Once that ended the twisting pain that she felt was gone, and the light that was on the floor didn't blind her as badly as it had before. She leaned off to a side, laying herself down on the floor. She was exhausted. But she still needed to go downstairs... however even if she wanted to Blade couldn't. Her legs weren't responding, or any other part of her body for that matter. She was too tired.

"...Boan... tell the others that tomorrow at dawn... we're leaving for the mountains...." Blade called out as loudly as she could when she'd spoken. Her voice was weak, so she hoped that he'd been able to hear her. Her eyes began to lower but stayed half-open, staring at the light on the floor. Hopefully she wouldn't sleep in tomorrow.

Boan’s head was turned toward the healer, bringing his ear closer to the door. That was probably the only reason he’d heard Blade talk. They left at dawn? Why did she always want to leave early? It didn’t matter. She led, they followed. If that wasn’t how it was yet, it would probably turn into something like that soon enough. Blade was a natural leader, maybe. Who knew? She was a tomboy. She flirted. She got angry in no time. Was that a leader? Hm. “I’ll let them know,” He said back to her, hopefully loud enough for her to hear if she wasn’t sleeping yet.

Boan got to his feet and looked around. He could see most of the people that he knew where with the group, except for the man Blade had been talking to earlier. There was also a small-ish woman he’d seen outside when he was talking to Eni that was probably part of the whole thing. He didn’t really know any of their names. This was going to suck. “You can go ahead and look at her now, I think. The worst of it is probably over. Just try to let as little light in as possible, and don’t make too much noise. If need help with anything, just tell me,” Boan told the healer. He didn’t know what the healer’s name was yet.

He would tell everyone the time a little later. Right now, he needed something to drink.
