*It had taken him a long time, but he finally found his way back to the inn, his legs sore from walking. He stumbled up to his room, and once again opened his window to let in the night air and the moonlight. He had beaten his greatest adversary of the day. Of course, there was not to be a celebration, seeing as he didn't have enough money to go out, and he had no friends to celebrate with.*

Kadoria fell back almost stumbling as Ollie released her. It was getting to be frustrating to be in this town all together. Everyone was so rude to a minstral, the lute alone should have marked her as such. But so few seemed to even care. What was this one of the cities where she had to get the guild's approval first before anyone would notice she was alive or even a human being.

She watched in dismay as the package fell , reaching for it fuitilly before he caught it with his foot and hefted it up to his hand. He was rather deft with both the polearm and in general. She bit her lips to keep from lashing out at him as he bounced it a few times for whatever reasons. "What it is , is something I need to return to it's owner" Holding her hand out as her foot tapped lightly against the ground, humming a song for some reason she was thinking of.

She was being patient, he hadn't attacked her and she had no reason to be scared of him. Kadoria brushed the hair from her face a she assessed him, her other hand still held out for the package as she waited patiently. She was rather proud of her self, she hadn't lost her temper even tho it was the fifth time today she had been manhandled, the second by him alone. Yet she hadn't said one truly cross word. "I thought you had something to do?"

Ollie returns the package to Kadoria's hand with a pleasant smile, replying with a simple statement - which wasn't very profound, because Oliver is...well...simple.

"Buggin' a cross-dressin' bard seemed like m're fun."

It was his little way of saying, 'Why the hell are you dressed up like a guy?'

She took the package back with a jerk, tho careful to make sure not damage had been given it as she moved the package around. No ....no damage, thank the Light perhaps she would live after returning it to the young one. Kadoria then looked back up at Ollie and grinned impishly, her jade eyes flashing with merriment and amusement. "Oh...it does , does it?"

Not giving him a chance to respond before placing the package in her pack and handing the pack to him, then reaching around to bring her lute forward, strumming at it lightly before picking out a tune herself, not sure why she felt the urge only that it reminded her of him.

"Ships may come and ships may go
As long as the sea does roll.
Each sailor lad just like his dad,
He loves the flowing bowl.
A trip ashore he does adore
With a girl that's plump and round.

Chorus:
When your money's all gone
It's the same old song,
"Get up Jack! John, sit down!"
Come along, come along,
You jolly brave boys,
There's lots of grog in the jar.
We'll plough the briny ocean
With the jolly roving tar.

Chorus

When Jack gets in, it's then he'll steer
For some old boarding house.
They'll welcome him with run and gin,
They'll feed him on pork scouse.
He'll lend and spend and not offend
Till he lies drunk on the ground

Chorus

He then will sail aboard some ship
For India or Japan
In Asia there, the ladies fair
All love the sailor man.
He'll go ashore and on a tear
He'll buy some girl a gown.

Chorus

When Jack gets old and weatherbeat,
Too old to roam about,
In some rum shop, they'll let him stop
Till eight bells calls him out.
He'll raise his eyes up to the skies,
Sayin' "Boys, we're homeward bound."

When your money's all gone
It's the same old song,
"Get up Jack! John, sit down!"
Come along, come along,
You jolly brave boys,
There's lots of grog in the jar.
We'll plough the briny ocean
With the jolly roving tar.

((Song Sample))

Rather pleased with her impromptu performance, as even now the gold coins from a few passerbyers began to be thrown at her feet. She grinned up at Ollie, "Personally I think this is much more fun than bugging a bard of any type" Feeling for some reason perfectly comfortable with teasing him right back without telling him a damned thing.

Oliver extends the hand holding the non-pointed end of his spear so that the blade is level with the back of his head. He then begins lightly scratching at the back of his dome. His voice was curious and slightly light, as if he were offended, delighted, and all around just amused.

"Y' sayin' I get wasted and nail fat chicks?"

Of course he wasn't really serious, but...damn. Just damn.

He was leaned against the frameway of the Tavern, a pewter mug of ale, half empty- or half full to him, grasped in his right hand. His eyes slightly narrowed, as he let out a sigh. A sigh of dejection. "Aye. Tis a sad day indeed." He raised his left arm, wiping at his brow, a few people looking to the young man. "Lo, and behold- I am bored!"

Several people groaned from inside the tavern, just wishing the young man would go off and do something else. But no one wanted to say anything, not to someone who just threw ol' Redford out the side view.

She laughed as she picked up the coins glinting on the ground, counting out a fair bit for an impromptu performance. Her braid swung around her hsoulder as she leaned over, not caring of the view she gave Ollie as she gathered the coins, slinging the lute over her back as she stood and looked at him once more, her fingers ran along her shirt, pulling it from her skin as if to cool the heated skin, the song was a bit vigourous for playing and she was already parched again.

"I was saying nothing of the kind, just showing you something I enjoy more than being pestered, even if it was by someone as handsome as you," flushing slightly as she realizes what she had said. "anyways , I think I should perhaps get going if I'm to return this package to it's owner"

Grinning up at him, before tilting her head to get one more look at him before heading out towards the temple once more. He was rather silly, but for some strange reason she liked his personality, even if he was too good looking for his own good, well his own and half the female population of the city if he set his sight supon them.

Apparantly he looked good...never got tired of hearing that. Smiling a bit to himself, Oliver throws a casual wave to her retreating form - mentally book-marking certain attributes and tendencies of the splendid bardess for future reference. As he drops his hand from the wave, the mariner speaks in a quiet voice - mainly to himself, although a few nearby people did look at him with raised eyebrows.

"Watch y're wake..."

A common sea-men's phrase. But it wasn't one of departure; it was something pirates said before they would stalk you.

She had sharp hearing and heard what he had spoke but she didn't know what it meant to be sure. Blinking a few times as she shook her head, she continued walking towards the temple, her hips softly swaying as she almost danced to some inner rthymn. Finally tho she decides she needs some actual music to accompany her quick trip back to the temple. Pulling the lute back to her front, the bag slung over her back as she begins once more as usual not even sure why she choose the song that she did.

"We've tried it once or twice
And found it rather nice

Chorus :
Roll me over lay me down and do it again
Roll me over in the clover, roll me over lay me down and do it again

Oh this is number one
And the fun has just begun
Chorus
Oh this is number two,
Down in front he's comin through
Chorus
Oh this is number three
And his hand is on me knee
Chorus
Oh this is number four
And he's been there twice before
Chorus
Oh this is number five
I'm surprised I'm still alive
Chorus
Oh this is number six,
And he's got me doin tricks
Chorus
Well this is number seven,
And he took me straight to heaven
Chorus
Oh this is number eight,
He bent me o'er the garden gate
Chorus
Oh this is number nine,
And the baby's doin fine
Chorus
Oh this is number ten,
And when he's through we'll do it again
Chorus
Oh this is number eleven
and it's just like number seven"

Chorus
((Song sample))

The song easily making her trip to the temple go quite quickly, with a spring in her step and a smile on her full lips as she sang. Today was good and perhaps tomorrow would be better. Perhaps with less nitwits trying to run her over and the like.

Almost as if in response to Kadoria's song, a voice which might seem strangely familiar starts to sound from the crowds of people all around the bardess. It was all but impossible to locate the approximate location of the voice, as there were dozens of people surrounding her, but it would probably be pretty easy to figure out who it was...

"En el otro lado es donde vivi,
Con mi hijita, que se llama mixie,
Y su hermana, si me quiere,
Y ya horita, tenemos un bebe,

Sus padres sus tios me trataron matar
But they did not get too far
Un poco despues tuve que regresar
Con un chingo de dinero
Cause you know I’m a star

Me fui a costa rica
Para tomar y sufear
Placticaba con la rasa
Cause they know who we are

Si no so dio cuenta
Then I bet you never were
You must be a muneca
If your still standing still

And it went - uhh
And the girl caress me down- uhh
And thats that lovin' sound- it went uhh
And the girl caress me down- uhh
And thats that lovin' sound

Me gusta mi reggae,
Me gusta punk rock,
Pero la cosa que me gusta mas es panochita,

Ponga la nalga en la aire if you know who you are,
Ponga la nalga en la aire y empieza gritar,

No tenga miedo, I’m your papi,
Take your chones, y les mandan a mi,
Levanta, levanta, tienes que gritar,
Levanta, levanta, tienes que bailar.
"

...and then the voice faded away, followed shortly after by a small laugh.

She turned her head, chuckling as she heard the words, she might have admited he was handsome, but there was no chance she would ever consider him anything like a bed partner, if she even wanted one. Swinging her braid over her shoulder she hummed a bit and plucked the strings, an even broader smile on her face now as she sang, the passerbyers getting a free concert, as she sang with an inner amusement all her own.

"And who are you, me pretty fair maid
And who are you, me honey?
And who are you, me pretty fair maid
And who are you, me honey?
She answered me quite modestly, "I am me mother's darling."

Chorus:
With me too-ry-ay
Fol-de-diddle-day
Di-re fol-de-diddle
Dai-rie oh.

And will you come to me mother's house,
When the sun is shining clearly ( repeat )
I'll open the door and I'll let you in
And divil 'o one would hear us.

So I went to her house in the middle of the night
When the moon was shining clearly ( repeat )
Shc opened the door and she let me in
And divil the one did hear us.

She took me horse by the bridle and the bit
And she led him to the stable ( repeat )
Saying "There's plenty of oats for a soldier's horse,
To eat it if he's able."

Then she took me by the lily-white hand
And she led me to the table ( repeat )
Saying "There's plenty of wine for a soldier boy,
To drink it if you're able."

Then I got up and made the bed
And I made it nice and aisy ( repeat )
Then I got up and laid her down
Saying "Lassie, are you able?"

And there we lay till the break of day
And divil a one did hear us ( repeat )
Then I arose and put on me clothes
Saying "Lassie, I must leave you."

((Song Sample))

Almost in tears of laughter as she finally reached the temple walls, falling down to the ground, the mirht flushing her cheeks brightly as she leaned back and smiled, her chest heaving from the barely restrained laughter. She liked Ollie, he was a sweet simple person, who didn't seem afraid of anything.

She continued sitting there at the wall, hoping Lady Seyumi would be coming back soon, the kimono had seemed like an urgent purchase and hopefully she could get it before it would be needed.

Oliver Squalle, the previously unseen 'singer', materializes out of the crowd behind the bardess - and by materialize, I mean he walked out of it. There wasn't anything to really be said that hadn't been already, and if there was, Ollie didn't have any ideas. Humming quietly to himself as he walks up beside her, the mariner just kind of...stands.

He didn't say anything. He didn't even make any gestures that might suggest he recognized her existance. Oliver simply stared straight ahead with his sea-green eyes, humming and grinning. After a couple of moments of this, Ollie adjusts his arms - which were hooked over the spear on his shoulders - and laughs quietly.

"Hahehe." [/reminiscent of Peter Griffin.]

She didn't look at Ollie ,tho she knew he was there, she just goes and leans against the wall and looks at him, checking him up and down for flaws and not finding many to be sure. Chuckling at herself over her change in attitude, at least when it came to him, she smiled. "I told you there were more amusing things to do" Leaning wearily against the wall, her eyelids closing momentarily over her jade eyes as she finished off her laughter.

Sitting the lute on the ground for a moment as she reaches up and pulls the leather thong from her hair, and running her fingers through the plait, the ebony shimmer of her hair apparent as it fell around her shoulders and body, a black silken curtain as she relaxed, her features softening and revealing a more evident beuaty, it would be hard pressed for someone to mistake the young beautiful bardess sittig there for the minstral lad who had been singing previously as well as getting pushed around by the horses etc.

Ollie just laughed a bit and continued staring straight ahead, although his gaze wasn't as fixed now. The occassional flicker of the eye could be seen - go figure. But...Oliver knew better; Water had taught him better.

Grinning a little to himself, the mariner subtely jerks his head so that the beanie-hat on his head slides down and covers his eyes. Now, turning a sightless visage to Kadoria, the Squalle-man smiles. The blonde tufts of hair poking out the bottom of the hat also veiled his vision, effectively blocking ALL sight.

" 'greed."

Then, with a small chuckle, he adds, " ...'ey...y're a chick."

Kadoria rolled her eyes, leave it to him to state the obvious "I think that's a bit redundant, since you've mentioned it a couple of times now, but yes I am a 'chick' as you so quiantly put it" looking at him again as she rests the lute on her lap bringing out her pouch to count the remains of the days earnings. She spoke "but then again I don't see how you could see that considering that hat of yours is blocking your vision.",

Yawning slightly as she leaned against the wall, she really hoped Seyumi showed up soon , it wasn't that late yet but she wanted to seek her bed, she wasn't still fully recovered and she had a new bruise. At the thought of the new mark, she rubbed her wrist where it resided, that damned 'princeling' just grabbing her and throwing her aside. Sure it was his sister but she was just trying to help her. Fool nobles couldn't even see that in the least.
