The head grinned amiably. "Sure thing, boss." It whipped back out of the door, which closed. Soon after there was some noise and a few milder bonks while the creature presumably tied its pet to the proper place.

Not long after, the inn door opened and the creature stepped into the bar fully. Although there weren't any obvious clues, the curves of its body somehow made it apparent that it was female. She was rather average in most aspects of her height; however, her unusually long neck made her head come a bit lower than six feet. She had batlike wings, which looked too small to be of any use yet too large to be convenient, halfway folded up against her back. The spines that started at her forehead continued down along her spine right to the end of her tail. She had loose, rather ragged clothing that was tied to allow for her tail and spines while covering the rest of her reasonably well. Attached to this clothing were a few pouches, bags and pockets that held basic travelling equipment. Attached to her back was a sword, and daggers were in holsters tied to the sides of her legs.

She walked up to the bar, her dulled talons clacking quietly against the floor. She sat at a stool and looked around for a moment before facing the bartender. Once he wasn't busy, she called him over. "Hey bartender, got any Vodka here? If so, I'd like a shot of that. Oh, also some good rum, if you have any. And, ah, what currency do you take?" She relaxed back into the seat and waited for his response, glancing over at the small boy sitting on the floor near the bar.

"I really don't know. I just kinda float about. I tend to do that alot since I tend to get forced away from my previous homes." She said, and set her dropping hand on her hand, which was propped on the bartop. Dang, she was tired.
"Oh, Hey I can look after him if you want to go get some sleep. You look tired." Sortha said. Then she looked behind her and saw the dragon thing she smiled at her. Then turned back to Artemis.

Artemis jumped out of her stool when she heard the commontion and the shaking of the building. Paranoia and fear shot out of her like a gyser, and with being so weak at the moment, it filled the room like a rancid perfume. She looked about for exits. It wasn't until she was making for the window that the dragon-headed beast make it's introduction, and sent Artemis almsot fainting with relief. They wheren't comming. Not today, hopefully. Walking back to her stool, since her legs felt weak, she sat down and looked at the dry cereal and milk, both that wouldn't help HER out. Her half open eyes turned to Sortha, that she reliezed was talking to her. "It's alright. Sleep can only do so much."

(hehe!)

Ketlin stared wide eyed at the dragon thing. He'd never seen one before. At first he was afraid, because Artemis was afraid, and he stayed perfectly still. When she returned, he guessed that the spikey thing was safe after all and stood up to reach for his bowl of milk. He was too short and worked on climbing a stool beside her to get to it. Artemis was on one side, the dragon a barstool or two down on the other side.

Even all that thumping didn't seem to wake Hitori up, if he was in his room at all.

Artemis turned and without thinking, grabbed Kentin by the waist and lifted him. It was a simple human reaction, but for a muse, it was a big mistake. Her heart pumped to it's summit, and her eyes turned to a pale green of it's former bright, vibrant self. The feeling that pumped into her sent a quick exhaul from her lips, and the emotin that Kentin felt was dulled down as it was slowly drained for the moment. Though her body was striving to get as much nutrients from the boy, she quickly dumped him on the stool and stood up. "Sorry." She yelped and walked outside. The words Stupid Stupid Stupid repeated over in her brain. If this was told, she'd leave ASAP.

Sortha ran over by Kentin and looked at him "Are you ok?" she asked in a kind voice. She looked at the door where Artemis just left threw then back at the boy. She sat there looking at Kentin waiting for a sine that he was fine and feeling sorry for Artemis.

Ketlin lay back against the counter, dazed. "Ok?" he asked. Maybe he was asking if Sortha was ok. He bit his lip and started to tear up. He missed Hitori, he didn't know these people at all!

The dragon looked to the boy, a slightly worried expression flitting across her face. She leaned toward him, her neck stretching so she was in reasonable hearing distance. "Hey kid, you okay? Oh, you're leaking, so guess not.." She relaxed back in her seat and pondered for a moment. "Now then, what would help?"

Suddenly she grinned. She turned toward the child again. "Hey kid, you wanna see something nifty? Now, I know I look scary and all, but I'm real nice. I even take care of some really cool and interesting things. Lesse.. I have it here somewhere.." She searched through a few of the many pockets and pouches that adorned her clothing while waiting for the child's response.

Sortha looked at him. Then huged him in hope it could help him feel a little better. She was after all the 1st person to meet him and she knew what it was like not having your real parents with you. She stoped huging him and looked at him. "Or do you want to go see if we can find Hitori" she said in a soft kind voice.

Even with Sortha's kind words, Ketlin bursts into tears. I mean, come on, a weird lizard thing was leaning over them. He nodded to Sortha's question.

Outside where Artemis was, Hitori was. He had been looking at the strange cow like creature tied up by the new guest, and ran across Artemis on his way back around the house. "Oh," he said softly, "You look ill. Can I help you?"

The dragon sighed and rolled her eyes. Having already leaned back away from the boy, she simply crossed her arms and waited patiently for the bartender. After all, no point in trying to comfort a small child if she wasn't in the proper soft, cuddly form. Anyway, Sortha was handling it, so she just wanted her drink.

Greff poured some Vodka, eyeing the dragon like creature warily.
"You sure you want alcohol this early in the morning?" Greff asked. He placed the cup in front of the dragon and returned the bottle to the shelf it occupied during the daylight hours.

She grinned and paid the bartender in plain, unmarked gold coins. "Yeah, I haven't slept properly for a week or so, so I'm gonna crash in a few hours until morning. Speaking of which, how much for a room?" She downed the glass in one gulp, not touching the glass to her snout but instead simply tossing the drink down her throat. She set down the glass carefully and leaned back in her stool, waiting for the bartender's response.

"Two common gold and a silver per night, abouts. That covers room, baths, stabling for any animals and three meals. Drinks are seperate." Greff said cheerily.
"You can have your choice of rooms. There is a corner suite overlooking the stableyard if you want a chance to keep an eye on that thing you got out there."
