Demare's whole body seemed to poof into a state of red, blush completely overtaking him as she hugged him and kissed his cheek. He was hardly able to react for a moment, barely able to stick the note into his pocket.
"I-I will," he stammered, placing one arm around her, the best he could do for a hug right then. "S-s-shall we h-head inside?"
A serious look took on Neko's features, a sense of doom present. She spoke as if it were fact, and like it could have actually happened.
"They could have been... KISSING."

Mayu giggled, and nodded. "Yeah, let's go in."
Kimiko played along with it, gasping dramatically.
"AUDIBLE GASP!" she exclaimed, though became quiet as she saw the children enter. They were.. blushing.

"Oh, would you look at that?" Neko snickered, unable to help herself. It was fun playing with child-like minds. "Maybe I wasn't so far off."
True, it probably wasn't good to feed the forming flame, but it was fun for her.
Demare blinked, a bit confused. What was she rambling about?
"I'm s-sorry we're back so late," he apologized, noticing Kimiko after a moment. She'd fled back here after being caught? Well, that was probably a good thing. He didn't want Mayu to have to go home by herself.
"We, uh... we kinda..." he started to say, but looked to Mayu as if he was wondering if they should tell them what happened. The halfling knew Neko would be somewhat okay with it, but he had no idea what Kimiko would think.

"We... went to the park! And... did... stuff!" Mayu said, knowing very well that Kimiko would become.. scary if she heard the whole kidnapping part, to say the least. She scratched the back of her head idly, trying to think of what else to say.
"What kind of stuff, exactly?" Kimiko's eyes narrowed, shooting a glare at the kids. "Please, do enlighten me." She smiled curtly, waiting for a response.

If Kimiko was anything like Neko when she was angry, he knew they'd have to think of a story, and fast.
"Well, see... after you left, we went to the park," Demare explained, his wings fidgetting a little bit. "We were at the playground for a while, and this little kid decided it was necessary to attack my leg. Then these girls appeared out of no where, so we ran away from there... We wandered around in the forest for a while, and saw a few deer! We just lost track of time in the woods, that's all."
That was the truth. No one said he had to tell her EVERYTHING.

Kimiko raised an eyebrow. "And all of that took... 7 hours?" The woods weren't that interesting. She stopped to look at her wristwatch. It was 7:30 now, and they had been gone since noon... she was off by half an hour. Close enough.
"Uh.. yep!" Mayu grinned sheepishly. It was a good cover-up, and she prayed that Kimiko would believe it.

"Y-yes, ma'am," Demare agreed with a nod, smiling the best that he could.

"Alright, then." Kimiko nodded, standing up. She knew that there was something that Mayu and Demare weren't telling them, but she would let them go for now. "So, ready to go?" she asked, looking over to Mayu.
The roar of thunder rolled overhead, and a heavy rain began falling right at that instant. Kimiko frowned, and walked over to the door. She tried to open the door, but could only get a small crack open before she was shoved back stumbling.
"Uh..." Mayu frowned, a bit startled by the sudden downpour. "I would say yes, but can we even get out of the door?" She held out a hand to help her guardian up.
"I'm having trouble," Kimiko replied. She pulled herself up, and looked to Neko with a sorry gaze. "Could we... trouble you to stay for a bit longer? Maybe even overnight, if the rain doesn't let down?"

Neko blinked a few times, a bit surprised with the weather. Something seemed set on keeping the two around here for a while.
"Um, sure," she said, managing a smile. "There's a guest room I can kick a couple people out of for the night, so I don't mind."
She got a mischevious look on her face. "You don't mind, do you Demare?"
He blushed slightly, not understanding what exactly his guardian was getting at.
"O-of course not..." was his responce, wishing he knew what it was adults seemed to think about.
"Then it's settled," she decided. "I was just about to make dinner, too. You guys hungry?"

"Alright, thanks." Kimiko laughed, though even if they wanted to leave, they couldn't. They were completely shut in, and if they managed to get outside, they would either be blown away or drown. Putting her arm around Mayu's shoulder, the girl smirked. "Don't do anything you wouldn't want us to see, eh?" she joked, but kept a steel-cold glare on her face for half a second which sent out a message clearly: 'And I mean it.'
Mayu gave a confused look, but shrugged. "Okay, I guess." Her mother was so strange sometimes! Well, she would figure out what Kimiko was talking about later.
"Food sounds great." Kimiko grinned, "Haven't eaten since this morning, and I'm starving."

"Good! I'm making tacos, then!" Neko giggled, retreating back into the kitchen to begin preparing food. It had been a very long time since she had guests over for dinner, much less stick around for long.
Dinner itself was fairly quiet. Most of the house's residents took their food elsewhere to eat, only Manior joining them at the table. Domonic was away for the evening, so no "family meal" was being forced upon the others, and Neko didn't care one way or another where they ate. So long as they cleaned up their messes, what did it matter?
"Manny, don't even think about throwing that beef," the demon hanyou warned him, not really even looking at him yet somehow noticing the toddler's fist in the air.
Manior reluctantly stuck the food into his mouth, his eyes still turned to look at Mayu. He was curious about her branches! They were so pretty, having flowers all over them. His little tail lashed about behind him, thumping against the chair loudly as it went from the left to the right several times.

"Tacos sounds good." Kimiko smiled. In actuality, she would have been willing to eat anything -- she was starving at that point in time.
"Thank you for the food," Mayu smiled, looking over at Neko. She had never had a taco before, they looked... perplexing. Taking a bite out of the crunchy tortilla, she nodded.
"This is good! What's in it?" she asked, curious. She would have to get Kimiko to make some of these "tacos" in the future.
Kimiko laughed slightly as she watched Manior, knowing the trouble of taking care of a rambunctious toddler. "Cute kid," she said, taking a bite out of her own taco.

Neko couldn't help but laugh a little bit at Mayu's question. Perhaps this wasn't the kind of stuff she normally ate at home.
"Well, it's pretty much just beef and salsa," she said, taking a bite of her taco and giving Manior another look as he was about ready to throw a handful of beef across the table. She kept watching him until he started to chew the food this time before looking away again.
"Eh, you might not want to say that too much. If he catches on that he's cute, he could become unstoppable."
Demare could only stare down at the plate in front of him, his eyes fixated on a little bit of the beef that had tumbled out of the taco shell. He didn't really like the taste of meat all that much, and idly he wondered if Neko had forgotten about that. Granted, it was usually Demian that was around for dinner, so it wasn't too surprising.
Neko blinked a few times, wondering why he wasn't eating at first, and then remembered that this was Clare sitting at the table, and not the demon. Glancing over toward the counter, she managed to reach the bowl of fruit that rested on it, and placed it upon the table.
"Sorry, I'm not used to you joining us at this time," she apologized. "Don't worry about eating that, I'm sure someone else will come and grab it later."
"Th-thank you..." he said with a nod, reaching into the bowl and taking out a small group of grapes. He popped one of them into his mouth, peering into the bowl and looking for something else to eat.

"Oh, okay!" Mayu grinned, then nudged Kimiko. "Make me some tah-cos sometime, okay?"
Kimi laughed, then nodded. "Yeah, I'll make you some tacos sometime."
"I understand." she replied to Neko's question, knowing very well the power of a toddler. They were not a force to be reckoned with.
"So.." she muttered, trying to think of something to jump-start a conversation. "Lovely weather this evening, isn't it?" she joked, as another clap of thunder roared overhead.

At the clap of thunder, Manior's ears perked up as he dropped his food into his lap, his head jerking to the left to look out of the sliding glass door behind his mother. He kept staring outside, moving his head a little bit as if the angles were different, just like a kitten inspecting a sound.
Her own ears fell back against her red hair, a hand reaching up to pat the toddler's head and ruffle his hair a little bit. She giggled at the little "mrah" he let out, watching as he feverishly tried to fix his blonde hair.
"Such... lovely weather, don't you think?" Neko said, rolling her eyes a bit. The lights flickered for a moment, and she frowned. "Hm... I should probably get some candles out just in case... Maybe I'll manage to find those damn flashlights as well. Think you could help me, Kimiko?"
Demare stuffed the last grape into his mouth, a bit cautious of the lights. Hopefully, Demian would keep his word and not come out until Mayu went home, even with the opportunity to possibly play in the dark.
"Hm... Would you like to see the upstairs?" the halfling suggested to Mayu, trying to think of something to do. "My room isn't all that interesting, but there's a library..."
