If American's demanded better, more professional conduct and reporting quality in their media, you wouldn't have the massive international image crisis that you do. Please stop putting retards on television.
Obviously any nation's first military priority is to maintaining the sovereignty of the country. We've always maintained a strong defencive force, and doubtless the decision to pull out now has a lot to do with maintaining that force with our limited budget rather than continuing to throw away resources on our ally's stupid immoral war. That should be basic sense to anyone who looks at the situation, and if those reporters don't get that they really shouldn't be considered qualified for their jobs. Yet alone being so out of touch with current events that they claim they didn't know Canada was involved in Afghanistan.
Rather than trying to belittle us for our decision to take a break from involvement in their war, they should be worried about doing whatever they can to maintain our commitment after this.

I know that the American military and politicians are likely looking at the matter in an intelligent way, and that Fox News is always this retarded so it shouldn't be taken so much to heart. But the fact that this is on television affects and/or reflects the way a lot of common Americans look at the matter. The majority of the world may recognize that Fox, CNN, and every other US news organization I know of are just biased, unintelligent parodies of journalism, but most Americans seem to take it as legitimate. And that's a serious ******** problem.

Here is a serious question for my US based friends here: Do you actually have any news media available to you at all that doesn't amount to ignorant filth? Where do intelligent Americans turn to find legitimate journalism? Do you just read the papers, or are they any better?

I understand that some of these people are 'comedians' (abet really shitty ones) I mean, there is poking fun, and then there is s**t throwing. My problem with the whole thing is that this isn't the first time I have heard this kind of trash spoken about Canada on this network. I don't mean to sound all chippy and everything, however, people are dying, and that is where laughing with us becomes mocking and intolerable. This gets beyond merely facetious statements. Frankly, the line is not hard to see; it's like a ******** strobe light.

This is completely different from Jon Stewart saying "Aww, they have their own government! Isn't that cute?" which put me in fits of giggles, as that is a double layered joke, at both us, and the general ignorance of many of Americans who know jack s**t about their neighbour, most important trading partner, and greatest ally. I hope that Americans & Canadians are aware of the fact that Canada plays a huge part in the protection of America as well. For example, the number 2 position at NORAD is permanently held by a Canadian General.

Essentially, it comes down to this. The Daily Show and Stephen Colbert are not news shows, as they constantly point out themselves. However the Red Eye is on a news network, not comedy central. FOXNews needs to be a little more responsible when it comes to this. There is free speech, and then there is misinformation and hate mongering.

I just get so frustrated at the attitudes of many Americans in regards to Canada. I don't understand the disrespect. We don't get this kind of response from any other country in the world, but then we hear it from our 'best friends'. I have sat at a dinner table with American cousins, this kind of talk is hardly relegated to low quality programming.

I still think it's complete crap! That was SO FAR BEYOND a joke. That was COMPLETELY insulting!!!! It still just ENRAGES me to THINK about it!! Man for man, Canada has some of the BEST TRAINED FIGHTERS around the world! But because it's smaller, and underfunded - Canadian army = complete laughing stalk?!

@ Joby - I'm not condoning anything else about the show, the honest truth is no one really cared until they blatantly insulted the Canadian military. That kind of humour is really disgusting - and their timing is even worse. Even if it was *supposed* to be funny - it wasn't.

Not sure if anyone else is into Big Love (omg, I am so addicted @___@), but the guy who plays Joey is from Newfoundland! I find him strangely attractive, but mostly cuz he's so much older than me is why it's strange.

He's the dude on the lefffft. Not Bill Paxton. xd Ugh, Bill's character on the show, omg. He's got like two phases - stressed the ******** out, and creepily happy. Joey looks so hawt and tormented now in season 3. It's so sad what happened to him. sad *SPOILER IF YOU CARE* omg I miss Kathy! AND DOUBLE OMG, ROMAN?!?!?

Yeah, it's the show about polygamy. xd With Bill's family, it does do that at first (they progressively get more and more crazy drama-wise) but it also shows the negatives with the compound life and goes into depth about the abuses that go on within the sect. It's hard to give a decent summary of the show, but it's more complex than what the ads have most likely shown. That's pretty much what I like about it. I don't dig polygamy, but I really like certain characters in the show and their stories. Nikki is such a mess and really hard not to watch. :O If you like sociopaths....ha!

Anyways, his name is Shawn Doyle I suppose, and I haven't seen him (or don't remember?) in anything else but IMDB has a lot of things listed for him. xd
