tab His eyes still fixated on his opponent, Chosuke steadied himself preparing to react to whatever was to come. To his relief though, it seemed that their last wave of attacks had managed to hit their target. With their team now regrouped, he watched as the boy emerged from the crater. Whether out of pain or loss of will, it seemed that the boy no longer wished to continue in their battle, receding into the earth. However, they also made it clear that their conflict was far from over. Chosuke wanted to pursue the boy but with Kujaku still out cold, all he could do was stand by and watch. "Oh yeah! Anytime, any place!" he called out, though it most likely fell on deaf ears, as the boy was long gone.

tab Hearing a soft yelp, Chosuke looked down to see that Kujaku had woken back up, bringing a smile to his face. Unfortunately, before he could express his excitement, he felt her begin to squirm and flail in his arms, like a freshly caught fish. "Woah! Hey! Take it eas-" he tried to calm her down as he did his best to set her down gently. His efforts would prove to be futile and before he knew it, Kujaku fell from his arms, crashing to the ground. "Ah crap. I'm so sorry." he quickly apologized.

tab Thankfully, it seemed Kujaku was mostly fine after her fall, or so she said. Her body betrayed her words though, as her attempts to stand had her collapsing against him. "Woah there." he said, shifting his footing to better cushion her fall as he caught her. "Hmmm. You don't look all that fine to me." he said, noting how flushed her face appeared. 'Those chains must have really taken it out of her.' he thought, thinking that her symptoms were the result of exhaustion. "Listen. If you're not feeling so hot, you don't have to push yourself. I can carry you until you get your strength back. No sweat. Whaddaya say?" he reassured her with a grin.

tab Giving Kujaku time to consider his offer, Chosuke turned his attention to Miyuki. "What about you? How you holdin up?" he asked her. They had both taken their share of hits in their fight and while he still had plenty of gas left in his tank, he wanted to make sure she was okay as well. After all, they still needed to make their way through the forest and with Kujaku still recovering from being chained up, he need to rely on Miyuki to watch his back if they were going to continue the exam.

Should the user take additional damage before the end of the second post, the increase stacks, refreshing it's active time.
•Battlefield Presence: The user's powerful presence on the battlefield strikes terror into their foes. Opponents are able to sense the user's terrifying fighting spirit five feet from the user per body rank of the user through chakra sense. Those within range can have this radiating fearful aura become the trigger for genjutsu, allowing genjutsu to be cast by acknowledging the user. In addition, should an opponent be targeted by a melee technique that is greater in rank than the target's body rank that target has tier two paralysis applied to their legs, requiring it to be broken by Kai equal to the user's body rank, costing the target no activation for that specific instance of kai.

"I am alright," Miyuki answered to Chosuke as she watched Kujaku appraisingly. The three of them needed to finish up after the distraction. "Carrying her might be the best move. We have got to get a move on," Miyuki said but not without some warmth and care in her voice. She did care about the two younger genin a lot, and that was why she desperately needed them to get their chuunin rank and move up in the ninja world. The higher rank would give them access to stronger techniques to protect themselves, and likely better equipment.

"I have not heard anything in the forest for a long moment. I suspect many others have finished," she mused without an accusatory tone. She grabbed the three stars left by the troublesome boy before turning to their new direction of travel.

"Pffft," a clearly amused Rei smiled down at the tiny, fluffy ball of rage turned embarrassment. The young teen didn't do anything to stop Coello from leaping to freedom, but that really only increased the effective height difference between the two.

And as soon as he had leapt out, he asked to be picked up again.

"Yes, yes," Rei obliged, but not without adding, "What a demanding little bunny you are." He bent over to scoop up Coello in one swift motion as he walked towards the platform. Turning his head and gaze to Mina, he vocalized his agreement with Coello's directions even as his feet took him in that direction, "Let's hurry on over. I don't want to be left behind by the other squads." He gave a smile, and while it couldn't be called warm, it was more than what he spared earlier. At least, he certainly no longer had the air of someone who only cared to achieve a success as quickly as possible.

Though, that change in demeanor soon froze back in to his earlier stony cold gaze when he neared the platform. Back in the midst of all the competition, he listened quietly to the instructions for the next stage. It seems this time would be a puzzle of sorts.

And I got a date with destroying the kage's office." She said as she hopped herself right into the hole without out a second thought. Tunnel, hole, same difference. They got to play around in this craptastic magic maze while the vampire licked their lips outside either way. If the goal was to toy with Sumika then Sumika would undoubtedly attempt to break the mechanism by which this was occurring. That meant jumping in the hole, team be damned.

Her shadow stretched closer to the two. She watched her shadows closerly with intense intesipation. Suddenly the fake shark girl vanished from Shikaries eyesight. Losing sight on the opponent so suddenly never sets right in her stomach."Wh-Where did she go?" Her scanning eyes stopped once she heard a voice coming from behind her. Her heart sank into her stomach. Quickly looking over her shoulder she could see the imposter looming down on her stating that Shikarie is going to help her with the Raging Kotori. The tone in her voice through her off a bit. Her tone was stern, yet motherly. "s**t." That was the only word she was about to get out before feeling a strike against the nape of her neck.

The force was so strong that it felt like the wind was knocked right out of her lungs. She was forced to place her second knee on the muddly ground and slam her palms down to stop herself from falling face first. It wasn't until she felt the mud squishing between her fingers that she realized she wasn't breathing at all. On top of that, it felt as if her entire body and limbs were being constricted Struggling to reach up to the collar of her shirt she wrapped her fingers around, pulling hoping it would help to open up her airway. 'What did she just do to me' was all she could think.

With every passing second, the feeling and pressure of the constricting feeling intensified to the point she could no longer hold herself up off the mud. Shikarie was sure to shift her weight to one side as she collapsed into the mud. That way she wouldn't drown herself by falling face first. As she laid on her side her second hand rose up as an attempt to pull more on the collar of her shirt. Her movement was getting more difficult and the pressure on her body was so intense she thought her lungs were going to explode.'Am-Am I drowning.' She thought to herself.

How in the world did this person think THIS was helping by any means. Struggling to get proper intake was starting to take its toll. By this point, Shikarie's vision had gotten blurry. Taking one of her hands off the collar of her shirt she used what little strength she had to roll herself onto her back. Squinting her eyes she would try her best to look at where the imposter stood. She couldn't even make out her face. 'Damn it. This isn't good. At this rate I'm gonna...' Her vision has now started to go black. Her consciousness was now slipping from her body. She struggled to keep herself awake but with the lack of are and intense pressure she couldn't last. A single tear would find it's way to the surface in one of her eyes before rolling down the side of her face. Shikarie was completely unconscious. But the expression of pain on her face was proof she was still alive. The question was for how long. On average the human body could only last a few minutes without air. Her breathing was barely detectable.

As she laid there she dreamt of being in the middle of the ocean. "Where the hell am I?" She said to herself. Keeping head above the water she looked around her in all directions to see if she saw anything. Nothing. There was absolutely nothing in sight. Suddenly, the sky turned dark and huge waves seemed to come out of nowhere. Shikarie was struggling to keep her head above water. Every chance she got she would gasp for air before being dragged back underwater by the rough waters.

She felt something wrap around her ankle and forcefully drag her underwater. Holding what little breath she had She looked down to see there was a giant tentacle wrapped around her ankle. More tentacles rose up from the depths of the ocean wrapping themselves around her body pulling her even further into the obis. It wasn't long until she could see the giant body of a squid. 'Not good!Not good!' she would think to herself. Trying to fidget out of the grip of the squid Shikarie had to come up with a plan to escape. Reaching down for her equipment holster on her thigh she was just barely able to get her fingertips to open up the flap and pull a kunai out. She continuously stabbed the tentacles until they let her go. Just in the nik of time too. She was just about to be eaten! Taking the the kunai she stabbed the squid in the eye. Leaving her Kunai there she would escape towards the surface.

Just as she broke the water she gasped for air and saw a clear blue sky once again. It was then that Shikarie's eyes would open, awaken from her dream. She was back in the real world. Her breathing was returning back to normal. Her once blurry vision returned back to normal. As her body started to restart she could hear a high pitch ringing in her ears that faded quickly as she regained full consciousness. Sitting back up she took a moment to remember where she was. "What the hell just happened?" She would ask. With a sudden sharp pain in her neck she quickly reached from where the sudden pain come from. The source was a curse mark that she still was unaware of. The pain was there, but manageable. All she knew was it was right where the imposter had stroked her, right before passing out. Taking the time to look around she was curious to see what had happened while she was passed out.
