"Demonhorn, that’s an awesome last name. But Ora..." Hugging her friend a little. It was awful that Ora started out a slave, Lena would need to re-evaluate her start in life. "I’m a Wasp Faunus, but I was adopted by a wealthy human family." Hugging Ora she watched as Henryk introduced himself. He was an interesting character, a performer maybe. Giving Ora a few small pats as she hoped it comforted Ora. "I don’t need anything, maybe comfort Ora a bit." She held Ora, wanting to make sure Ora was okay. "I guess I started life out easier."
Hizami saw Arthas join, and suddenly wondered if he knew how to use it. She didn’t have any time to think anymore, for Eira had quickly maneuvered away. Her body grew lighter, and a grin came across the faunas’ face. The sand would have slowed her down, but with this, she would move at her normal speed. The sudden burst of sand lowered her visibility, but also gave her enough cover. Eira would be shooting at her shadow, where the fox had already bolted from her position, and launched herself in the air, over her opponent Ramming the butt of the rifle between her shoulder, Hizami steadied aim, and shot three times before landing on her feet, and pushed her body away from both Arthas and her teammate. As she moved backwards, the maiden would redirect her aim at the butler and shoot once, just a warning shot,” Press the button, Arthas! It’ll unfold!” She called to him, the large, circular button was next to his thumb.
Her body seemed to be moving so fast, but that was just her leg muscles doing what they did best: help her evade. Her body would flinch rapidly from the recoil, her tails flicking this and that way violently. Her ears twitched and were pointed in different directions, trying to pick up the sounds of feet moving. She would peer over in Eira’s direction, and shot upward at an angle, so there would be a chance that ti would rain in her direction. Then, saving her ammo, she looked over at Arthas to see if he needed any help with her device…but her instincts told her that he may have something up his sleeve, so she would be cautious. The small ‘skirt’ that she wore was a towel that was tied at her hip, soon became undone and she was left in her bikini. Hizami didn’t care, but Eira would see the small strap-on cartridges full of water on her thigh, patiently waiting to be loaded in.
Out. Of. Cookies. Jumped over Eira while shooting. Within 10 feet range of Arthas. 15 of Eira.
Arthas seemed to stand there with his weapon canister from Hizami. He was focused on the two girls going at it with water guns. Each was using speed and agility to their advantage while they dueled though he noticed They had certain characteristics that kept bouncing as they moved with such speed and agility. A tinge of red rose up his neck at the realization he was staring a bit. He let a low cough into his free hand as he decided it was time to get to it. Very calmly he stepped out of their current ranges with their weapons. He reached up to the buttons on his vest and undid their clasps. He pulled his vest off revealing the all white blouse he wore underneath fully. He pulled the cuffs of his shirt up to the end of the armored gauntlets he wore on his hands. Next he stripped himself of his actual weapons. Two boot knives, Two Leg sheaths with daggers, A belt of twenty daggers around his waist, Two daggers that hid under the fabric on his arms, two daggers that hid up the gauntlet of each hand, and finally the Rapier that hung at his side. All these items where carefully placed on top of the vest. "Now I am ready" he muttered to himself as he rotated his left arm. He felt much lighter hoping to keep up with the girls speed. He picked up the canister that he had dropped in the sand and headed back to the battle.
Arthas stood there with the canister. He heard Hizami yell at him on how to open it before she went back to shooting at Miss Winters. "Alright lets see what it that Miss Yachiru has given me" he mumbled as he pressed the button on the canister. Immediately the weapon transformed in his hands. The weapon created was large and sported 6 barrels with a rear trigger system. Immediately Arthas gripped the weapon his right hand on the rear trigger handle and his left on the support handle at the middle of the weapon. "Alright lets get to work." he said stepping across the sand, his armored boots picking up sand as he walked. He pulled the trigger and the six barrels began to spin, rotating faster and faster until compressed air came shooting back whipping up his hair and the weapon began to spit out water bullets and a lot of them. He immediately began to track Miss Winters as she crossed his field of fire and then switching to Miss Yachiru. Arthas even while firing this weapon had that smile plastered on his face. It was rather creepy as he kept the trigger held.

The pair had been at Beacon Academy for a few weeks now. While Elias was fitting in quite superbly, the same couldn't quite be said for Cali. While the girl was always his number one priority, Eli was charming. He didn't struggle to make friends the same way she did. Not to mention the spider boy with the electro-webs was quite the sight to see. His semblance was flashy, her's could be frightening. To other's at least. The longer the were here. the more it became clear to him that he had been right to assume that she didn't really want to be here. She'd only gone for him. There was the appeal that she might be able to learn how to control her semblance and beyond that learn to control it, at least a little. Eli believed that with his entire heart, she still held her doubts and reserves. Sometimes it was like she refused to get her hopes up, afraid that they would be crushed beneath her. After everything she had been through, Eli could understand that perfectly. It didn't really matter though. He would be hopeful enough for the both of them until she could find it in her to share his hope. He would never stop believing in her, fighting for her, being a pillar for her to lean on. More than that, he would never stop trying to get her to believe in herself as well. No matter how hard she pushed back, no matter how many times she refused. If anyone could do it, it would be him.
When it came to Calista, Eli had a way of always getting what he wanted. Granted it was nothing he ever took for granted. His pleading was usually for her benefit anyway, and she could just as easily pull the same trick on him. The two would do anything for each other but it was always the other they had in mind. So, just as he had convinced Cali to come to Beacon with him, he had convinced her to come to the beach. She had been hesitant about it at first, as she was with most things that were new. "Come on, Cali! It'll be fun. With all the open space and the water, you won't hurt a soul. I won't let you. Trust me." He had told her, time and time again, followed by a plethora of other arguments. He had won that battle, followed by the next. Cali always were multiple layers, covering every bit of skin. Eli understood the precaution, probably more than anyone every would or ever could. However, he wanted her to be able to live life the same as anyone else. He wanted her to enjoy herself and be a normal girl, even if for just a day. "Let loose, Cali. You might melt if you wear all that. We'll just have to be extra careful." He had assured her, and once again, the conversation had ended with his victory.
This brought them to the here and now, walking along the golden sand, enjoying the feeling of it squishing between bare toes. The sun was beating down on them, enveloping them in a golden warmth. The waves crashing gently on the shore in a relaxing rhythm. The ocean breeze tugged at his dark locks, the wavy strands dancing with the wind. Eyes such a bright blue they rivaled with that of the afternoon sky, he turned his gaze to the petite girl beside him. "Pretty, huh? I told you it would be worth it." The thick gloves looked rather out of place with the rest of her attire. Much the same way the bright floral back slung over his shoulder must have looked odd on his broad and muscular form. He didn't seem to be the slight bit bothered by it. The two had come prepared. Spending the entire day in a flimsy bathing suit, it would surely crumple to nothing before their fun was over. Eli had packed several for that exact scenario. Along with several towels, she might just need more than one, sunscreen, water, a few snacks, and all the other beach essentials. It was safer that he carry it all, seeing as if she did it would only be exposed to more of the decay and it would all crumble away sooner. It could be assumed that even if she held a completely normal and harmless semblance, he would still carry the bag for her. Not even give her an option, but rather just take it off his hands. He was sweet, charming, and chivalrous when he wanted to be and his masculinity was stronger than that then the girl satchel slung over his arm.
The two walked side by hand, their steps falling in perfect sync, thier arms brushing against each other with every swing, as if it would be painful for them to be even one centimeter further from each other. Eli could already feel that dry itchiness spreading over the surface of his arm. That witch would soon turn into an uncomfortable rawness as her semblance ate away at his first layer of skin. However, he was willing to bare it for her. The thought of not being close to her was honestly much worse than the rawness he was sure to feel later. In all honesty, he had been exposed to it for so long, he was used to the feeling. It didn't really bother him much at all unless they pushed passed their usual limits too far. There were times in the past it had been painful, bloody scabs as his body worked to grow new skin and protect the delicate layers beneath the surface, but even that was worth it. There was hardly a thing that seemed worse than not ever being close to her again, never feeling her skin under hers, soft despite the brutality of her semblance. The thought of never holding her in his arms, wiping her tears, brushing his fingers through her hair... It was all more agonizing than anything she could ever do to him with her pestilence.
Stopping rather suddenly as a thought occurred to him, he turned to face Cali, knowing she would stop with him, even if surprised. He reached down and gently grabbed her wrist, pulling it closer to him. There was no hesitation and long fingers curled around her delicate limb. He held it there for a moment, gazing at her with his baby blues as an ever-familiar and mischievous grin found its way onto his lips. "Cali," He started, content to let her guess for a moment. It was all the more fun this way and her reactions were usually precious. It made it much more tempting to tease her, just a little. "The gloves." He stated simply, as if that were enough to explain the exact thought process of his mind. In truth, it probably was. She was usually fairly good at determining what he was thinking, even with only the tiniest of clues to work with. "You can't very well take these into the ocean with you." He told her, his other hand coming up and grasping at the finger tip of the glove, ready to pull it right off. "The salt water isn't good for the leather." He told her, trying to appeal to the side of her that had a tendency to treat things with the upmost care and use them until they absolutely could not be used anymore. If this didn't work, he had a fair few other ways of convincing her to take them off, but he had to start somewhere and his seemed the easiest. To be fair, it was that he cared about her sticking out like a sore thumb, he just wanted her to truly be free, for once in her life, and this seemed a safe enough place to try it.

Ora's shoulders would drop. She thought she had found on of her brother's in arms, but she was mistaken. She took an unnecessary risk telling him, and Lena had heard her last name. Not only that, but Lena had said it out loud. She looked around. There was a reason that she had whispered it, and a reason she didn't want to talk about the last name. Lena seemed completely focused on her as she was hugged. Did Lena not understand how deadly a name like that would be? She didn't find anyone looking at Lena after she had said that. Thankfully.
She would raise her horns to the sky. There was one thing that she could do to see if he was a demon clan member, but she didn't want to reveal too much. She would look at Henryk. "Does the phrase, With horns to the sky, we will not be denied, have any meaning to you?" It was an old phrase, one that they even chanted on the battlefield before they were slaughtered by vale. Her arm would be shaking in anger as she said it, her irises turning white as she was having a hard time controlling herself right now.
Seems like Hizami was getting a boost to her speed as well. She managed to get herself around the shots Eira had unloaded at her and came after her. She was already getting under way but she had to react fast. Hizami came barreling in after her and jumped right over what sand was still airborne from her wall creating blast. Eira's vivid blue eyes tracked her target as it moved up and over her. Eria's own body moving down. Her right knee hitting the sand and tucking in under her body as she hit the dirt and rolled out of the way of what Hizami was raining down at her. She paused on her back after she was clear to return a blast of water up at Hizami. Hizami wasn't hanging around though. Eira sat up as she pumped the action on her water gun to prepare the air pressure for the next blast. She worked efficiently able to chase Hizami's around with blast after blast of water as she moved off, all the while still getting up off the ground in a smooth motion that spoke of no small amount of combat training.
Hizami had moved off now and was giving Arthas some help getting the contraption she had given him to work. She had aimed her weapon upward and fired it off to make water rain down all around Eira. She sort of felt like she was playing a game of evade with a water sprinkler. It kept her busy and more importantly away from the others while they got Arthas situated. Hizami had to stop eventually though or run out of water in her weapon and be forced to reload it. She readied her next attack and charged in to close the distance on Hizami first. Which drew fire from Arthas who had just got his weapon up and running. The barrage of water bullets was more intense than what Hizami had been dishing out and forced Eira to dive into the sand to get under it all until it was swung over to target Hizami. 'A minigun? She really had to mock up a minigun style water cannon. Well this calls for extra power.' Eira pumped the action twice more as she popped up into a half kneeling half crouching position. She leveled the water gun at the butler and squeezed the trigger while he still seemed all focused on Hizami.
The barrel produced a much larger puff of white mist like smoke from the pressurized air firing off which made it look like she had fired off a pre-smokeless gunpowder era weapon. The mist spread out and made a slightly bigger than Eira sized smoke screen which spat out a water shell twice the size of the usual ones and moved three times faster. Needless to say it covered the dozen feet separating them quite quickly and a hit from this was less like the cup of water thrown on you and more like a small pail. Eira was of course quick to operate the action on her water gun. Creep a few steps over and fire off another in Arthas's direction and then repeat to fire another one at Hizami who she could still actually see and therefore aim at. That helped the mist screen spread out over a larger area, and while the sun was more than hot enough to quickly burn away the little mist smoke screen those three shots fired off quickly enough managed to combat the mists evaporation just enough for the screen to get big enough to effectively hide her for the five to ten seconds it would take for those rays to do so. All the while she made haste to sneak off from the spot she was last seen in.Well as much haste as she could make while still trying to keep herself as the smallest target possible. Just in case more automatic water bullets became magnetically attracted to her misty cover.

His team was awesome. There was no doubting that. And this day really made him feel closer to Richard too. Everything was starting to feel better.
Narx shuffled in his place and stood up to receive his food only to be smothered."Oof!"He grunted as he was pulled in, in the end he embraced the group hug. There was never a point to trying to stop the albino rhino. She would always get her way. Fortunately her way was very loving and family centered."...I love you guys..."He spit out giving Danaë an extra nudge.
When Narx pulled away he felt very refreshed and showed his teeth with a bright smile."Danae... I think you, myself, and Garret had a volleyball game that we need to get to right? Are you still feeling up to that?"He started to shake his legs out and prep for some activity. He was hoping his body would hold up. Nothing sparked life into him more than volleyball.
There was some doubt, but he'd likely be able to make it through a whole game."I heard its bouncy, and has a semblance active ball."He wasn't sure exactly what that meant though."Have any of you ever used one of those? I heard it has some of the same qualities of a weapon, that it can utilizie your semblance somehow? But would that even work with mine?"He doubted it, but was curious if any of them knew more."Let's head out though! We might need a sub so Tess and Rich you guys can come along and watch...or play as another team?"He shivered thinking about fighting Tess. She was big and powerful, but that didn't mean she had the precision necessary to make scores. He loved a challenge so kind of hoped to go against her. He had quite a bit of strength, but overtime he would lose to her very likely.
[Leave to volleyball court?]

Hizami watched as Arthas held his minigun. Danger surged into her head, as a few water bullets his her tails, which came over to shield her from the barrage of attacks. Then her attention was towards Arthas, and she dashed away, into Eira’s line of fire. The mist worked, and Hiza was unsure of where she was, until the water hit her stomach. Mist. That girl was using mist of all things. With a smile, the maiden’s eyes began to glow, and in a sing song voice, called out to her teammate,” Eira~… Thank you~”
Snap.
The mist would condense into its solid state, then implode on itself. Due to the molecules being so small, it would disorientate the girl rather than harm her. Hizami smiled, and shot in the direction of the mist, in a particular pattern to cover more area. The gun beeped, and she looked at her cartridge. Empty. Her hand swiftly removed it, and pulled one from her thigh to reload. Hizami kept a watchful eye for Eira’s movements, her eyes never leaving the field. Her ears kept a tab on Arthas. That devilishly handsome butler. The fox wouldn’t lie, she kept glancing over. Something sparked in her head. And she knew exactly what it was. Damn it… Her newly reloaded gun was now ready to shoot, but with the chilled atmosphere around her radius, the water was now cold, and whatever she shot, would feel her…love? Nothing hit in the mist… She moved. Hizami swiveled her head, and shot off into the distance where she believed Eira was, then shot towards Arthas, giggling all the way. That smile he had on his face, it was new to her, like he was really enjoying it! Seeing him like that…it made her happy.
Adam's smile grew large as she said she would love to go to the ball with him. "Awesome! This day is, straight up, one of the best ever! My first time going to a beach and I got a date to the ball!" he shouted in excitement. "Now if only I knew how to ballroom!" he laughed. After Ridley's couple comment Adam rolled his eyes playfully and spoke under his breath. "Dang it, Frozone. You were supposed to say you'd love to take her." He said that more to himself quietly than anyone in particular.
Back in the ice cream shop, the ice cream headache caused veins to come out of his head. "This is worse than getting shot! My aura ain't helpin' with this!" he held his head in both hands. He ran them through his dreadlocks, tilted his head upwards and squeezed the back of his head. "How long do this crap last?!" he dreaded. Adam noticed Cecil purposely ignore him and made a mental note to get him back. Though him being near him would probably make it worse due to being a living tundra... Adam was just gonna get him back anyway. Just. Because. Azura, always the helpful one, told him that he just had to wait it out. Though that wasn't ideal for him, if that was the only way then he'd have to deal.
From his right he heard the voice of his leader, but there was something in that voice. Amusement. Still holding his head, he turned to her. With a mischievous grin on his face he said, "I am SO getting you back for this. I feel like you knew, girl." he laughed. He did as she suggested and rubbed his temples. After a while it started to die down and the chilled fire died down to nothing. "Oh. My. Good. Ness!" he said. "That's over." he huffed happily. He looked back over to the variety of choices and shot back at the counter and remembered the delicious taste before the pain. "I didn't learn my lesson!" he said before shooting back tot he counter and ordering a scoop of the caramel, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and something called Blue Moon. He pulled his wallet from a water resistant zipper pouch in his full body swimsuit and paid.
He returned to the group and noticed the goosebumps forming on Ridley and Cecil. He realized it was his fault they were probably could due to him throwing them in the water. "Alright, as the Leader of everything cool, amazing and devilishly handsome I say we all exit the ice cream shop and get into the heat. Don't want our lovely ladies catching a Cecil." He said referring to a cold. He placed his cup with many scoops on Cecils head to keep them from melting outside as he gently pushed them all out of the door placing them back in the heat.
Once outside, Adam began eating his ice cream again. From atop Cecils head. He was afraid it would melt. If Cecil tried to ruin his delicious frozen treat in anyway while it rested atop the walking blast freezers cranium, Adam would swiftly swipe it and continue to enjoy it. Adam looked to his team being very appreciative of the people he was pair with due to certain circumstances. One of the great things he was tankful for. He closed in on Ridley's face and noticed a pink mark on her forehead. "Who flicked you?" he asked jokingly not knowing she was 'punished' by a teacher due to his freezing cranial torment. Adam then remembered they were at the beach and with a mouthful of ice cream he looked to his team, bounced happily and asked, "Ooooh! What are we doing next?!" {OOC:}

Cecil seemed lost, his eyes on his ice cream, his mind running rampant as he licked away at his ice cream, not paying attention to the fact that Ice cream was set on his head. He was technically immune to the cold and the lack of goosebumps was apparent. He soon opened his mouth, sticking his tongue out slowly before he took a small bite from the ice cream, getting some of the ice cream around his lips as he couldn't help but to squeak softly. He soon realized he was in a public place and shook his head as he felt the ice cream being removed from his head. "Ahem.... I do believe going outside would be beneficial for us." He told them before he moved over to Azura, and offered her some of his ice cream, as a sort of gesture before he soon said, "Would you like to?" He tilted his head, wondering if she could read his mind or even get what he meant, but whether it was ice cream or a date to the ball, he was offering it with Cotton Candy on top with a small bite taken from it.

The sound output of the weapon was all that filled the butlers ears. The creepy grin was still plastered on his face as he held the trigger on the weapon sending rounds down range at Hizami. He was losing himself to the weapon, Aggressive emotion began to rise as he began to walk forward with the weapon pointed at the fox. He seemed to be lost in a trance for a second. He scanned his field of fire for a second and noticed a smoke screen moving across the battle ground. "What the...…" He didn't get to finish his sentence before a high powered blob of water hit him squarely in the shoulder causing him to spin around.. His entire left side was soaked. The water caused his shirt to go transparent from the water reveling his body. The fabric stuck to the left side of his body that was soaked and stuck to him showing off the muscle groups that made up his left arm and upper chest. Arthas raised the weapon again and saw Hizami with Miss Winters engaging in fighting again. His semblance flashed again in his eyes and immediately the gravity in the area began to get heavier and one would feel as if they being put 80 pounds. Arthas shifted his stance to deal with the weight as he opened fire once again upon the girls.
During combat Arthas was acting solely on his combat training from his mentor. He had turned off his compassion for the "Enemy". The weapon he had a rather large container on the side of the weapon that held water. looking down he could see it was a little less then half full. He looked back up and sent another volley towards Miss Winters. He started to lead her movements predicting where she was going to be so his shots would connect with her form. Arthas was lost in combat he didn't realize he took several more water gun shots, these ones from Hizami. They impacted his left knee, right hand and right side of his rib cage. The metal from his leg guards glistened in the sunlight while his shirt turned more transparent with the shots, revealing part of his chest. "They should be running out of ammo soon that will be my chance to move again" he muttered to himself. All in all he was actually enjoying himself, engaging in activities at the beach.

It reminded him of a name he knew from his past, being a little similar, but he wouldn't associate the two names as anything more than coincidence. She would then hug Ora as she would mention she was a wasp faunus. Giving her a once over glance, he couldn't see anything that was faunus about her. 'Lucky or unlucky?' He pondered in his head. He knew being a faunus was not necessarily a good thing, but his time in the circus had taught him to embrace it. It was a part of his act, his show, him. He had learned not to care for the few that judged him for it because of his ability to use it in cases where others didn't. She had also mentioned she was from a wealthy family, but that hardly mattered to him. People could be good in all levels, and so far she seemed like a nice person. Especially with how she cared for her friend, only asking him to try and comfort her. Which, while he wanted to help her out with, he wasn't quite sure how.
Seeing Ora's shoulders drop, Henryk hoped that meant she had also realized this was all a mix up. He didn't want it to be such a let down for her, but she had to know it was all a mix up. As he was trying to figure out a way to lift her spirits. he noticed her stand in a way that her horns were raised closer to the sky. He was confused on what she was doing and cocked his head in confusion...until he heard her next words. 'With horns to the sky...we will not be denied...' Henryk visibly paled a little upon hearing that phrase. Not for the words themselves...but because he knew them. It was a thing his parents had said...but he always thought it was specific to his family. To him, it had meant to be proud of his horns and being a faunus...but somehow she knew the phrase. 'How would she know it?' He wracked his mind trying to think of it, as despite their familiar appearance, he knew no one by that name.So his only assumption was...that she somehow knew his family even though he could not remember her. Realizing he had been lost in his mind for a second, he would look to Lena specifically to ask a request. "Can I please have a moment with Ora alone? I think I know of a way to cheer her up a little but it unfortunately requires it. I promise she will be back soon enough, we will just be on the other side of that wall." Henryk was not lying when he said it could be a way to cheer her up. Despite him not being her brother, he believed her knowing his family may help. And further, he had far too many questions he needed to ask now. ✘ Post count: 6 ▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄ OOC:
Lena looked today her two other Faunus. Giving Ora a quick hug she took a step back. "I'll be right here Ora." Sighing she took a step back. Going to a railing to look out at the water. She did feel bad for saying her name out loud.
XXXPerhaps it was a mistake. The duo had come to Beacon not long ago, primarily due to Elias' own desire and belief to use their capabilities for the betterment of the world. As well as the stern belief that it would help her learn to control her capabilities. In such an environment, to Calista's expectations, the one she cherished seemed to radiate and thrive. Unlike where they've been before, his presence as a faunus was widely accepted. Whereas before she was the only one who cared for her precious spider. In addition, his semblance had been admired due to the 'pop' it had and the perfect synchronization with his spider nature. Truly, this was where he belonged. Though the same couldn't be said for her. Where Eli was thriving so flawlessly, Cali could feel herself sinking. Not that she'd admit it, because he seemed to be enjoying himself. She would follow him to the ends of Renmant no matter what she felt, if it meant that she could stand by his side. At times she found herself in envy with how he clicked with everyone. Where up until now it was them against the world; now it seemed like the world was trying to snatch him away. Thus were the thoughts that echoed in the depths of her mind, but she knew better than to have such a negative mindset. Maybe she was just being a tad bit greedy. It was just hard to swallow; especially since she didn't have the same social aspects as her endearing Eli. For her, stepping out of her comfort zone was nearly an impossible feat; unlike her partner, she kept most aspects of her as a secret. After all, she was afraid of those attending this academy to turn away due to the truly horrific nature of her own semblance. Which frankly, while a harmful mindset, was well justified given what they; especially Cali, have been through up to this point. So to cope; she did her best to conceal and ignore what was an irreplaceable piece of her, for as long as she could manage. She knew eventually she would have to show her dark secret, but if she could keep it away for even a day longer she would gladly. After all, how was she suppose to learn to control it here if she didn't confront it? Eli always had such confidence and belief in her capability, she never really understood where it came from. It was enough to get her up in the morning though; the only pillar of support she ever had. So once they actually started attending classes, she would try her best. For his sake, rather than her own.
A day at the beach? Wasn't this suppose to be an academy? One would've thought that an academy would hold academic events, and not beach time fun. .. Where was Cali to judge? It just took her by surprise when Eli has presented the idea to her, and that the two of them should attend. That it would be good for them and may help them ease their way into Beacon. Cali, however, was very skeptical of the idea because she herself had never been to a beach. After all, wearing anything less than full body concealment was unacceptable. So the idea of going to such a place never once crossed her mind. "I don't know, Eli.. There might be a lot of people; I'll stick out... Not to mention how hot it'll be.. but.." With continued bartering and negotiating, Cali would have to reluctantly agree. Besides, she wanted to see him happy. Not mention she wasn't against seeing him in beachwear in the water, even if she had to watch from afar. So while the act of going to the beach was easy enough, it was Eli's next request that put the poor girl on high alert. "A-absolutely not! Most people wear close to nothing; so if I bumped them... It's just not a good idea; I'm much more comfortable in this. Better to melt than turn to dust." In terms of security, absolutely. The more layers she had, she'd feel evermore secure. Now in terms of actual comfort, it was horrid. It was so hot and restricting; at times it felt like she could barely breathe, but it was a necessary precaution. "And besides.. A bathing suit is too brittle; it wouldn't last! I don't even have one for that reason. .. I.. I really doubt I could pull it off anyways." Layers of clothes also added a secured sense in her own body appearance. She had never shown much skin, and on said skin was riddled with scars. Which only made her that much more self-conscious. It seemed he had anticipated this answer because the next thing she knew he had an array of swimsuits laid out for it. It appeared he went BEHIND HER BACK and bought them as a surprise, and several for the exact reason that they'd be too brittle." I can't believe you.." Eli had far too much power over her, and thus he had been victorious.
Fast forward several cases of bickering later and a trip. Here they arrived at the beautiful billowing waves, receding in the back only after leaving behind a cooling mist that would carry along the ocean breeze. The sun wasn't as unbearable as Cali had anticipated. Feeling much more like a warm, comforting embrace rather than death by UV rays. This without a doubt only due to Eli convincing her to actually dress for the occasion. Otherwise, she would only be able to take a few steps before suffering from a horrid heat stroke. Between the cascade of crashing waves and the lustrous golden sand, the girl was trapped in awe, marveled by the beauty. It took a brief moment and the words of another to bring her back to reality. Surely he could see it, the actual sparkle in her eye from overlooking the beach. Said sparkling eyes would look up as the broader, masculine man that accompanied her with a contented smile. "You got me there. It's absolutely stunning out here. Never once had Eli led her astray, so how could she continue to worry every time? In this brief moment of clarity, Cali could only think of the two of them. Every few steps Cali would look up at him, simply admiring the beauty of the man in her life. In body and soul. It was something she often did. She just wasn't sure what she did to deserve such a wonderful person in her life, and she never took his presence for granted. He was something to be cherished with a smile. Even the floral pack he carried complimented him in her eyes; it was a simple sign of the care and kindness he held in his heart. He took every precaution for their beach day, which was an admirable feat. Eli had always been incredibly attentive, especially in a chivalrous manner. Surely she could have never made it this far without him, though always dreaded in the back of her mind that he would've been much farther in life without her. Even in her happiest thoughts, she could not escape deprecation; she was her worst critic.
It was normal though, and her thoughts would be shaken away until the next episode. The pair continued to walk side by side, truly in bliss. Unbeknownst to Cali and a shade of recklessness, she wasn't quite aware of the harm she was doing to Eli just yet. Though their arms brushed together, they usually did so with layers of clothes. As such, no harm ever came. This time was a bit different. Cali had actually reached a state of comfort which she glanced up at him with a smile and shimmied closer to him. The only thing that could make her happier was to feel his presence; that was her comfort and happy place. Feeling a warmth more embracing than the sunlight, she was truly content. .. Until it had occurred to her what the situation actually was. Her heart began to sink when she looked down rather than up and she realised that she wasn't wearing her sleeves could already imagine him tarnished with a large patch of dry skin. Quickly, she pulled away back to their prior comfortable distance. Still within range, but not nearly as snugged up against him as she had tried before. "I-I'm sorry .. Did you bring aloe, like I suggested? It usually helps.." Frankly, she knew very well that Eli never truly cared what her pestilence could do to him. He always expressed for her to live freely; that she deserved it. She, however, believed he didn't deserve to be hurt in the way he always was. Whenever it happened, it felt as if the pestilence was eating away at her very core. Just once, she wanted to embrace him without causing him pain. Was it truly too much to ask?
Very suddenly, they would come to a halt. The two had been so synchronized, that even if she wasn't looking at him she would've stopped. Either way, Cali blinked in curiosity to what triggered this stop. Did you forget it?" She asked, thinking briefly it was involving her recommendation of aloe. Instead, Eli's mischevious nature had emerged as he took her wrist, much like a dance partner, and held up her hand and gazed into her pale brown eyes and stated her name. Not said or asked, but stated. "W-what? It was.. just a suggestion .. Or.. D-did the wind do something to my hair? I didn't think it was that strong.." Honestly, her mind was simply racing for the moment. Then, she'd suddeny gasp and use her free arm to start to cover herself as she frantically looked down. "Did-did I already eat through the suit?! I told you they're too delicate!" A wave of embarrassment nearly washed over her before everything clicked and she simmered down, only to frown. "No. We're not going there." That's when he followed with the remark of gloves; she knew it. "I need these at least.. My hands touch everything. Can't you let this one go, pleeease?" She begged. He had already convinced her to do so much. Surely he could let something as tiny as large bulking leather gloves go, right? Right? Actually, that didn't sound too right. Here he was, already ready to take the glove straight off without her consent. To that, she'd puff up. "I'm not consenting to this! You're very well undressing me if you do that!" Perhaps she could fluster him to deter him from the glove removal operation. Though he did make a good point; leather and water, especially salt water, did not mix in the slightest. She found a lot of materials that didn't mix with certain situations, simply because she wore gloves every waking moment. As she mulled over his logic, her cheeks swole into a pouting face as her hand seemed to slump in defeat. "Fine.. do what you want.. I'm still not consenting to this.." For the third time in a row, she had been defeated by the cunning and deceitful Elias. Whose tactics are to simply ask, and she is almost guaranteed to comply. With one hand taken by him, she'd raise the other to her mouth and bite the fingertip. There she'd lightly tug it off her had, revealing a truly delicate and untarnished hand, at least on the upper side. As she wore gloves all the time, her hands were to rarely suffer any damage. They honestly looked like they would belong to someone else with how scarred her body was.
Now, with Eli doing whatever it was he must; Cali would continue her prior statement. "But you need to put some aloe on that.. I don't want it getting worse." She'd say softly with a concerned frown. Eli's health was always a top concern for her because it usually depended on their interaction. Certain days all would be well without a case of decay. Then others when caution is tossed to the wind, he could end up with several patches or even near full body dryness. To think that a simple embrace could do so much harm despite the good intention behind it. The thought itself always weighed heavy on her heart. Pulling away from that thought, it seemed to get hotter. Perhaps it was from the flustered moment or the sun was finally getting to her. Either way, as the golden rays continued to radiate down on them, it was becoming quite clear that her skin was not accustom to such harsh rays. "We did pack sunscreen, right..? I think I need it now.. You should probably get some on too. We don't need to get burned with everything else that happens." IT almost seemed as if Cali poked a very weakhearted joke towards her own semblance, which was followed with a sigh. Then an idea chimed; one that might be able to help both her comfort of gloves and even let her help them apply sunscreen. "Oh! Did you happen to bring those fancy disposable vinyl gloves? We can use those to apply sunscreen! Otherwise.. " Well, the thought of trying to put on sunscreen without an aid such as that didn't seem like the most ideal plan. One of them wouldn't be able to fairly use their hands afterward. "If we did, I could even help you! You always help me when I'm in need.. So.. I really wouldn't mind.." Returning the favor seemed few and far in between. It always seemed as if he was the one taking on the heavy load. So, even if it was such a minuscule task.. She would love to.
As they continued to get settled, the big question came. "There are so many activities... I don't think I could decide... What do you think, Eli?"
Huh; even though she never knew the man personally, a lingering feeling of dread seemed to ache her heart. Perhaps it was the uncertainty in her heart of whether or not the man had achieved his goals. After all, Lafalle seemed to so blatantly emphasize the importance of chasing your dreams. For some reason, the thought that he had passed away before he could achieve it saddened her. A weakness her mother wouldn't stand for. "I'd like to believe that Videl accomplished his aspirations in life before passing; that he gave your family a fight to be remembered." It was odd, feeling the long-buried sentiment for the family that her mother had only taught her in lesson. Shaking the thought away, she'd focus on the man once more and respond with a nod. "Yes.. Mother was very firm on the concept. As well as to learn from your own failures, as well as others. Such a precaution was made so I wouldn't fall to a similar fate; I was to study each passing in great detail. The simulations were rigorous, but a necessity for development." She appeared to phase out for a moment as if entering a passive state drained of emotion. To her, it felt as if she relapsed with a second version of herself before blinking back to reality. "Truly a wondrous teaching method"
The name he used in comparison; dove. It was far too fitting to her characteristics, as well as her own smidge of innocence. At first, the name actually phased her, and her wings seem to flick in response. "Suitable; they do make quite a statement, don't they? I wonder what a Lioncourt Dove represents.." What was potentially just a statement of good fun from him seemed to actually raise the question for her. The Lioncourt seemed to have a questionable heritage, so peace was likely out of the picture. Brought back by his next statement, it was clear he was radiating arrogance. It was amusing. It seemed that their duel would be far off, but would come to them one day. When they were ready. The skies hold an endless journey. We're bound to meet again before that day, I'm certain of it." It almost seemed as if that was her dismissal to leave, so she was ready to bow and dismiss herself. Much to her surprise, as she started to lower her head he extended the invitation to stay. She ceased, rising once again to her full stature. While she was flattered for the extended invitation, she couldn't help but wonder a blissfully ignorant question. "What is volleyball? Aside from the few bits of fun that her brother and aunt had shown her, she was rather ignorant in terms of fun and games. Relaxation was one thing, but fun activites that were both exercise and entertainment? Unheard of. "If you would have me, I would be honored to accompany you. Though if you wouldn't mind. Would you please tell me more about this .. 'Volleyball'? I would like to be well-informed of an event I'm attending." There you had it, this dove was a clear representation of innocence. She had so much to learn in a relatively normal life, and this may have been a simple first stepping stone. Whenever he was ready to depart, she would follow.
