Wanders with Roots remained sitting for a few moments, but eventually followed Baby’s lead as well. She stretched and then settled down beside the other pup, laying down her head across one of Baby’s paws – enough contact to feel satisfied without sharing too much body heat, for the moment.
Feeling Ochre against him made the rest of the tension in his chest begin to ease. He sighed and leaned into her, giving a nod. “I will do my best.” It would take a while to readjust, to actually forget the fear, but for now he hoped that the puzzle would be enough to distract him, even if he couldn’t see the stones react.
To that end, he blinked turned to Ochre, “Of course, you’ll have to direct me and tell me what exactly is happening. I’ve heard that the stones are changing and glowing for different things… but you’ll have to let me know when these things happen.” Of course she would remember that, but still. He tilted his head slightly, “Though I’d be happy to sit aside and let others sort things out – I don’t want to be in the way. If I do, you’re more than welcome to call Wanders with Roots if you need her; I understand the dogs may be helping?”215

Ooh. Up he goes, then pretty glows! This... this is magical. "What if we have to jump from one to the other?" the buck suggests, turning to the east. "Let's see if I've still got it! Watch out!"He barrels towards Jester, carefully jumping and managing to land in the space next to him without doing too much more than nudging him.

Ishtadaal He barrels towards Jester, carefully jumping and managing to land in the space next to him without doing too much more than nudging him. Nothing of note seems to happen, either when he stops touching the center stone, or when his first hoof touches the stone that Jester is on. Nothing happens once they're both comfortably settled on top, either.

"I'm not too sure if the dogs are needed, they didn't seem to light the stones up. They might help keep them lit, I didn't think to count if the stones stayed lit longer when I was putting the dogs on them." Ochre replies, all she wanted was to stay here like this, but that would hardly be right, they'd come all this way for the obelisk and it's puzzle. "I've never minded telling you all the things, I enjoy it in fact, and missed it nearly as much as I missed you." Giving the area a look Ochre isn't sure what exactly is happening at the moment, she'd not been paying the best attention for the last little while. "Looks like they're trying jumping and hopping to get the stones lit, not sure how well its working. It did seem like the stones wanted a specific kin, earlier they didn't react when the other buck touched them, but then reacted to me touching them. Perhaps because he is Kimeti, maybe they want Acha? Ochre says, watching to see if she can figure it out. Baby gives a contented sigh, no more running around and jumping on stones, at least for now. Momma might have them start again, but for now the pack gets a rest. Mika_Yumi oops forgot to add this when I first posted..

It has been several minutes since Sea of Butterflies first touched the stone with the marking on it. That stone ceases to glow. All five stones to the left also cease to glow. The Obelisk continues to glow, at a slightly dimmed intensity.
It feels like the Obelisk, and the stones at its foot, are waiting for something.

Jester considered how many kin there were as opposed to stones, and concluded that they may need more to each step on one. Did their species matter? He couldn't tell. The hounds and the wolf didn't seem to affect much either. "I fear we need more than 5 kin and a wolf," he figured, especially given hopping on and off of stones made the lights glow, and then unglow numerous times. When Rouge had jumped on the center plate and jumped the first time, all the stones had changed. Maybe that was the trick. Maybe it could be species based; kimeti on one side, acha on another? There were limitless combinations; but none would work with only five kin thus far. Outcry turned to watch the rest of the crowd, and laid down on his rock, content with where he was. Jester only furrowed a brow at him. "If one wishes to hop onto that rock, you're going to have to move," he warned the wolf, who only flicked an ear at him.

"What if we have a kin on each of the glowing stones? And then one kin hops from the first to the center?" Breach suggested as she climbed down from the stone she'd been standing on. It was the only thing she could think of. Although she wasn't terribly sure if anyone would want to try it. Regardless, she began towards the first stone on the left, "I don't know if it'd help if everyone climbed down first and then someone started it up on the center stone again?" her voice wavered in her uncertainty and she stood before the farthest stone on the left, waiting to see what the others would say.

"We'd be willing to help. Ochre calls, from where her, Mirage and their dogs are sitting. "Did jumping work every time? If not, try dancing. Acha love to dance. Just don't ask me to... I uhh I can't dance.. Ochre adds, blushing a bit.

Mirage was so glad to hear that Ochre didn’t mind describing things for him. She’d even missed it? He would never have guessed. A very pleased smile crossed his face and he blushed just a little. “Well, if you’re so sure… I’m ready to help however I can.” He nodded towards their feet, where he was sure the dogs had stayed, “As is Wanders with Roots, I’m sure.” Hearing her name, the dog gave a happy bark and looked up at the two acha.
At the suggestion that the stones might only want acha, Mirage couldn’t help but wonder why, then, so many kin of other species seemed compelled to also make the journey. He tilted his head a bit, wondering, “Or because he is male and you are female? Hmm…” That didn’t seem as likely either, but it was the most he could venture with the information he had at the moment.
When Ochre offered their help, Mirage nodded, a smile passing his hips. He would be more than happy to join where he could. He didn’t have enough information to try and lend any theories just yet, but he could easily follow directions.195

Jester gawked at Ochre and then gasped. He stared at the middle stone and then contemplated. Acha were free spirits after all, at least that he'd seen living out here not too long ago. He smirked widely and then looked again at the number of stones, and the number of kin. "If dancing is involved, I'm going to screech," he said almost to himself, thinking. "But Breach may be right about the idea that we may need to move from stone to stone, too... and the middle one is clearly important, given it's offset slightly from the rest and of course has an etching on it. When Rouge touched it, it lit up, and when she jumped on it, it set all the lights at once. Dancing and jumping definitely seem to be a key," he contemplated. He hops off of his current stone beside Sea of Butterflies, and walks up to the middle one, but doesn't quite hop onto it yet, contemplating its relation to the other stones for now. "I wonder if Breach is right, and everyone should step off and then step back on, and if someone stepping on the middle stone at the exact same time would do anything," he thinks aloud. "But I really hope it's dancing."

"Hmm could be." She answers Mirage, "Or maybe how we touched it? I climbed the first, and brought Bubbles and Blue up before getting down. The second I brushed my knee against putting Bear on it. The third I thwaped with my tail, that's the one that blue Acha and the two Kimeti does were on. And the one the white kimeti buck was on, I touched with my nose. Ochre says, searching her memory for some clue. "I think, the order I touched them, first was the stone right next to the marked stone. Second was third from marked, and then second from marked, and then last in that line. All on the left side of the marked stone." That seemed right, but she hadn't been trying to memorize it, just to get it done. Hearing Jester speak, Ochre looks over at him, eyes narrowed and wondering what kind of trouble she's gotten herself into this time. Maybe admitting she can't dance to a group of mostly strangers was not the best idea.

Beauty Past Compare slipped down from the stone, and picked her steps to the shadow of the obelisk once more. "I trust we'll figure it out," she smiled mildly, "I believe in all of you. Thoroughly!" She would grace them with an aria, but she had the feeling that it was too early - they'd be here a lot longer yet. [OOC: no reply needed, just gettin' off just in case you want to use the stones and I'm asleep hah]
