Eugh, this stuff... Zenith knew she needed to have a firm grasp on mathematics for her career, but exponential stuff was always just so hard to understand...
The best way I can understand this stuff is to talk about it in terms of finance...
So there was this thing in the news not that long ago, about some loan shark that got caught. Apparently he'd trap people in loans that looked like they were low interest, but over time the interest that accrued on the loans would grow exponentially - essentially trapping the person who borrowed the money in a cycle of constantly just trying to pay down the interest - never being able to actually pay on the loan itself.
There are laws to prevent that kind of thing but I guess it still happens anyway. I took it as a lesson to just not borrow from shady people.
Hopefully that would be good enough... Zenith wrote down her name, then passed it in to Judas.

Nightmare Rica Image: Response: "My favorite example of the Fibonaaci Sequence is the rose, I think it's really amazing how nature has such repetition and it's almost like perfection." She loved looking at all of the pictures that she found in the library. She wanted to go and and find more examples in her free time, but she had some other assignments that kept her f. "Pine cones also have them, I think it's so cool."
With that, she handed her picture to Judas with a smile.

Username: Midnightglow18 Student: Cybelle Picture: Response: Cybelle was rather happy with his work, it amused him that you could use numbers to make a picture. He smiled looking down at the butterfly and flower, he liked the colors he picked out for his picture. Then he walked up to hand his paper into the math teacher, he said "I liked this assignment it was fun."

Once again, Cherubi was irritated. Today was just about making the worse classes the worst. Worser than worse. Soon, she'd graduate and never again go to cl- awh s**t, there was university. It just never ended, did it?
Chewing on her pencil, the Chimera finally settled on just what to talk about. Alright, she got this.
'Awhile ago I read about this case that happened before I was even born. One of the soul stone banks had a side area where they awoke abandoned imbued children and then would send them to the orphanage. They had a new caretaker go in, and without thinking the caretaker began awakening all the children. Suddenly, the orphanages were flooded with well over 100 children in one week, and the caretaker was immediately fired.
Since then, I heard that soul stone banks have a certain system in place to ensure that doesn't happen again. A lot of those children never ended up with homes, or so I read, which wasn't even their fault. Someone else was stupid thoughtless and awoke them too quickly. I can't imagine ending up in that situation....'
She had only made herself sad in the end with this stupid project. Rubbing at wet eyes, Cherubi signed the paper and handed it in.

Response: Call it vanity, but Eclair had spent a good, long, tedious time ensuring all the colors she used were the colors found on herself. The second someone had told her coloring was involved she knew she needed to pull out her mirror and ensure all crayons used were perfect. Which meant this took quite a bit of time. Luckily, Eclair finished in-time and to Judas' desk she waddled, placing the paper delicately on their desk with a small smile.

Username: Screamingshark Student: Marimo Picture: Response: Marimo isn't one to color, the idea was a little harsh, but when everything looked the same to them it was difficult to find any joy in it. Still, they didn't want to fail and wanted the professor to atleast like them a little. So they colored, getting the names of the colors off the sides of the crayons just so they wouldn't look like an idiot. They could only hoped it all looked correct when they handed it in. Of course there was doubt...but it was better than a failing grade.

Username: Screamingshark Student: Holly-Bell Picture: Response: Holly-Bell was excited. Coloring was her absolute favorite activity aside from planning for the winter months and she couldn't be happier for this assignment. So much so that she may have gone a teensy-bit overboard on some of the color choices...But there was always an effort point...right? There really should be an effort point, that's a super nice thing to do and everyone knows that nice things to do are things you should do......right? No! No point in negative thoughts! she shook her head and wrote her name down, turning it in with an ever present bright smile.

Username: Nasaiki Student: Muninn Picture: Response: So the assignment was coloring. Coloring wasn’t so bad. Art was a big thing in Muninn’s family so he was happy enough to do it. With a smile he picked out eight colors and started coloring in, although as he went along and started to see the picture he switched out the color for six and eight. There that would make a better plant stem. After coloring the picture he held it up and smiled, wasn’t his best work obviously but it looked pretty and he had fun doing it. Math wasn’t his best subject so it was nice to have something fun. with a light hop to his stem he turned it in to the teacher.

Username: Nasaiki Student: Leto Picture: Response: Leto was actually pretty good at math all things considered, and he wasn’t in the art dorm but his family was very art based so he didn’t terribly mind the assignment. He picked out his colors and diligently colored the paper. Ah… well it had turned out purpler than he expected but he was always fond of the color so it didn’t surprise him too much. Happy with the piece he put finishing touches on assignment before walking up to turn it into the teacher.

Nightmare Abel Image: Response: Abel's poor brain was having a hard time grasping this particular project. It wasn't so much the sequence in nature that confused her, but all the numbers associated with it. Abel managed to find a few plants that followed the sequence.

Well, this was a difficult prompt, that was for sure. The geist tapped her fingers as she pondered her answer. I think the best example of exponential growth would be found in bacteria. Under the right circumstances, their numbers could easily increase to levels that could overwhelm the body’s immune system due to their quick reproduction at optimum conditions.
In a hospital, a nurse did not wash up after examining a patient in the ICU. She then, without thinking, went to the children’s ward. I don't know why she did it, possibly to visit one of the other nurses, I guess. But the children were then infected and spread it between each other. With that, you can see not only an exponential growth of the bacteria within the children, but also with the children spreading through the ward. Some cases were caught early enough to treat, but one especially immuno-compromised child ended up passing.
If proper procedures were followed, the hospital would not have these deaths and lawsuits on their hand. More strict regulations were put into place for wards with immunocompromised individuals and children.
With that, she went up and placed it on Judas’ desk and returned to her seat. She didn’t like to think of this, but it was terrifying to think of what could go wrong if someone would just forget to wash their hands.

Username: C-C-CaFFIENE Student: Nefertiti Picture: Response: Oh boy! Oh boy oh boy oh boy! They didn't actually have to do any math today? Nefertiti could barely hold her excitement in! Good thing she came to this class equipped with all her amazing crayons! She quickly took the sheet and then began digging around in her backpack, trying to find the case of 150 different crayons. She immediately got to work. She stared at the picture sitting on her desk and tried to figure the best way to do this. She opted to just go with it instead of planning colors beforehand. After she had chosen which colors to use she began coloring the picture in, almost too excited to keep within the lines. When she was finished she walked up and handed her masterpiece to the teacher. "I'm sorry that I colored these two areas in when there wasn't a number, I just thought it would look better!"

Username: C-C-CaFFIENE Student: Lilo EDITED STUDENT NAME WHOOPSPicture: Response: Coloring? Really? Lilo sighed lightly, they were actually kind of excited to learn math. Not because they had a liking for it or anything, but because it was actually pretty difficult so it was kind of fun. Lilo grabbed one of the pictures and walked back to their desk, looking it over as they sat down. So it was supposed to be a butterfly and a flower. Whatever, this was going to be easy. Instead of picking colors for the numbers first, Lilo decided to just start coloring in the picture. There were two spots that were blank...the baphomet shrugged and left them blank before filling in the color code that they used. Boring. Lilo finished the drawing and turned the assignment in. Maybe the next class would be a little more fun than coloring.

Nightmare Hexen Response: Exponential growth can be very harmful to the environment when it comes to overpoaching of certain species. The growth in poaching in some areas of the world has a domino affect that directly impacts other species that rely on the ones being killed off. If you remove one element from an ecosystem it can cause the entire fall of a sanctuary for animals. When you look at how each ecosystem is structured and on the food chains involved in each one, and lay it out like a map, you can see what animals prey on one another. Remove one of these elements, and predators are forced to look for new prey. Remove enough prey and all the predators start to eat the same few species, which further dwindles the numbers of other vital populations. Another example of exponential growth is how rapidly we're developing our world. So many new lives have been brought in to the world since the 50 Year War, and while we are still rebuilding our economies, or cities, and much more, our populations are starting to thrive again. We're seeing whole generations having children of their own now, and the numbers are swiftly climbing. As we're needing to extend our reach, the environments of animals and their ecosystems are being threatened with our high demand for resources. Exponential growth has many impacts, and sometimes its impact can be dangerous and deadly to the species affected by it.
