The Mew pressed a paw to its nose, concern etched on its adorable features. Oh no this was no good! And who was this stranger? Was he the one who’d played the box? He certainly had to be. But he was just snoozing now it seemed so clearly he hadn’t noticed the oddities with the box; he probably had no clue!
The Mew hovered over to Sebastian to look at him, even going so far as to lightly poke man in the side of the face, which just earned a frown and a gentle swatting away. For someone who didn’t seem to be having the most restful sleep, he certainly wasn’t waking up. The box was still making the strange noises too and that was bad.
It had to do… something? Actually no, there wasn’t going to be time to do something. The ticking of the box suddenly stopped though the glowing persisted and Mew couldn’t help but notice. “Mm...” A muffled grunt was all that escaped Grayson as they arrived on the edge of Lavender Town, the expression on his face especially downcast. As disheartening as it was, his gloomy look fit the foggy atmosphere. “That took forever,” he commented, though to whom was unclear. Still, both his pokemon and companion looked to him after he spoke. “It was only a half hour at most. We’ve walked farther,” Emmet commented, though he held his own haggard look. Grayson only shrugged, dislodging Aita in the process. “It felt like it took forever,” he amended, and to that Emmet could agree to. Though neither could put it into words, they both had felt it, an unnatural passage of time; though if either checked the time, which Emmet did, they’d find that it’d only been a half hour since they left Vermillion City. Just as Emmet had said.
Unwilling to linger on the conversation any further, after all more than enough time had been wasted, Grayson silently beckoned the team to continue forward. With three badges underneath his belt, there was a bit of leeway between his next badge, and that meant he had a bit of time to drift his attention to more personal matters. He glanced over at Emmet, who was looking straight ahead. They'd been traveling together for quite some time now, and not once had he offered up a complaint. There wasn't a gym here, and they'd already been here twice, so clearly they were here for a different reason. Would he even bother questioning why they were back?
Two minutes of fog-filled silence later, and Grayson decided that Emmet didn't just care enough to ask. He was just tagging along after all, their destination didn't seem to be of any concern. At least, that was how he perceived it, and if that was the case then that was fine with him.

It was this determination that made him a bit oblivious to Mimikyu's sluggish movement, that eventually slowed to a crawl, his head lolling at an odd angle. Grayson paused, temporarily confused at who 'Mimi' was, but he was quick to put two and two together and turn around to look at Mimikyu, who was indeed looking a bit... off.
He stopped in his tracks, before backtracking and kneeling down in front of Mimikyu. Footsteps from behind told him that Emmet had followed. "Are you sick or something?" he questioned, whipping out that medical degree he didn't have. He was tempted to place a hand to Mimikyu's body--that is what parents did to feel for a fever, wasn't it?--but he was stopped by the simple fact that: Mimikyu's real body was hidden by cloth, and most ghost's had a negative temperature; being dead and all. "I'm... fine," Mimikyu insisted, though it was obvious that he was struggling to even form those two words.
"Tch." Grayson sucked on his front teeth, before he pulled himself to his feet. "We're taking a slight detour to the Center," he announced, drowning out Mimikyu's objections as he did so. "We're going to get you better, Mimi!" Macaria happily proclaimed, pleased to know that her friend would be getting proper treatment. Mimikyu didn't share her excitement, but he didn't have the energy to fight her or Grayson as he returned him to his pokeball. Grayson kept Mimikyu's pokeball in his hand, adjusted Aita, who'd acted as a silent observer on his shoulder, then motioned for both Macaria and Emmet to follow him towards the foggy outline of the PokeCenter.

It’d been a while since Lafayette had been to Lavender Town, and vague memories of his last visit were reminding him why. The place was still just as creepy as it’d always been, with the same lingering fog of death and gloom. The tower still loomed high in the background, the eerie flickers of light through the multiple windows sending a shiver down his spine. Honestly, the sooner they got through this place, the better. Dismounting from Nova, he stood and took in the area before turning to address his team, eyeing the pokemon at hand. "A’igh’ Noah. Cheri, yeh need ta keep yeh eyes open," Lafayette fished out the wishing star Eve had found to show the two. Noah’s eyes went wide in awe; he’d seen numerous knickknacks and trinkets in his time (Lafayette’s bag was full of them after all) but never something like that. It was like a glowing pebble, but something about the energy it exuded was foreign. Alien even.
Cheri gave the Wishing Star one blank, staring glance, before redirecting her red gaze to the communicator in hand. Unlike Noah, she didn’t have any level of interest in the new fetch quest her trainer had been assigned. She much preferred the communicator and was already tapping away.

Lafayette’s face twisted in disapproval at Cheri, eyes rolling when it earned him no further response. Fine, then it would be just him and Noah doing the searching then. Dova cooed and nudged him; she was willing to help the best she could. Lafayette smiled, patting her on the snout.
"Ta Dova! Why don’ yeh get in tha’ air fah me? See if yeh catch anythin’ twinklin’," The Noivern gave a coo of approval. She took three steps back, spread her wings and took to the air with a heavy gust. Lafayette swiped his hair from his face, watching Dova as she circled above before shifting his attention to Noah. "C’mon Noah, let’s get lookin’."

If there was one upside to Lavender Town, it was that even the slightest glimmers stood out against the doom and gloom. It wasn’t long before Dova caught Lafayette’s attention with an alerting cry before she dove and landed in a small park area just a few feet from where he and Noah had taken to searching. The pair rushed over, Cheri underarm (because otherwise, she’d had just stayed planted in the place they’d originally landed). The Noivern had her face shoved in a bush, digging around with a feverish focus. Just as they rolled up, she pulled back and grinned, the Wishing Star carefully clamped between her teeth.

It matched the one Eve had found to a tea and upon closer inspection, Lafayette noticed that they in fact looked like little starbursts. Huh, neat. Tucking it into his bag with the other, he and Noah climbed back on Dova. Lafayette flicked Cheri in the side of the head to get her attention, earning a blank stare of disapproval (?) before delivering the next destination to the Noivern.

✧✧【Regardless, they needed to get a move on, they weren’t going to find those last few stars any faster by lollygagging. The rest of Route 10 past the Rock Tunnel was a relatively short walk, the top part of the Pokemon Tower looming over the rocky cliffs in the distance steadily growing closer before the town itself into view. According to the signpost near the path leading past the entrance Lavender Town was also called the ‘Noble Town’, though arguably that was hardly what came to mind to most people when they thought of this place. A pervading mist constantly blanketed the town, giving it a generally gloomy, creepy vibe that would surely send chills down the spine of anyone visiting who wasn’t a local from these parts. Lavender just had this overall extremely eerie vibe with how otherworldly and isolated it felt being surrounded on almost all sides by sheer mountains and cliffs, and it certainly didn’t help that the infamous reputation of the Pokemon Tower was hardly a well-kept secret around Kanto. The further they walked in towards the center of town, the more Eveline was reminded of exactly why she didn’t like coming here.】✧✧

And having the tower constantly looming over everything in the background just added that much more to the overall creep factor… Thank Arceus they didn’t actually have to search in there, Eveline had had more than enough of her fill searching for these stars in Pokemon graveyards.

She wasn’t sure how much stronger the Pokemon here might be compared to the tunnel they’d been in, but it could be worth trying to squeeze in some more training for her party members who still needed it most while they could. Especially since the remaining two areas listed on the flyer, the Seafoam Islands and the Kanto Victory Road, would surely be too far out of their league until they were actually strong enough to battle any wild encounters there.】✧✧

Gin and Margarita were already two of her strongest Pokemon by far, but without any badges to her name yet using them in battle without being able to command them properly would definitely be risky. Still, where most of her Pokemon were sitting at in terms of levels by far they’d be reasonably ready to take on the first gym wherever they went…
She briefly considered stopping by briefly in Pewter to nab a badge from Brock, she did have quite a few Pokemon on her that would do very well against his Rock types... But that’d just be an extra stop they’d have to make, and they hadn’t really come to Kanto to take on the gym challenge in the first place. Still, they should focus on gathering up the remainder of these stars first and then go from there. As nice as this rather lengthy detour had been, they’d really need to hunker down and put all of their focus on getting those badges when they returned to Galar. She might have to do some research beforehand so they could properly prepare first. Although running wasn't something his body was used to, as it fell under the category of 'laborious activity', Grayson did show a sense of urgency as he speed-walked his way to the Pokeceneter. He stepped past a trainer as they exited and pushed in, making his way further inside and straight for the nurse's counter; luckily, there wasn't anyone ahead. "How may I help you today?" Nurse Joy, as chipper as ever, greeted him with a smile, which was reflected by the Chansey by her hip. "My Mimikyu is sick, it's got some kind of fever and looked pretty lethargic," he reported, already unclipping the pokemon's pokeball to place onto the counter. The pinkette furrowed her brow, pursed lips giving away her concern. "Have any of your other pokemon displayed these symptoms?" she inquired, taking the pokeball and moving it to a tray that Chansey produced from underneath the counter.
Grayson tipped his head to the side, his right bang slipping down and exposing both eyes. "No, I don't think so," he answered, slowly. "But, better safe than sorry, right?" He turned to look at his other pokemon, Macaria in particular since she'd been the closest to Mimikyu. A silence fell upon the group before Grayson pulled out their pokeballs as well to return them and hand them off to Nurse Joy. Aita was the one who proved the hardest to convince, fur puffing out while he failed to meet his trainer's gaze. "C'mon, don't be a pain," Grayson 'encouraged', and shifted his shoulders up and down to get him to comply. The pokemon grumbled, shrank into him, then finally allowed himself to be returned.
He handed it over to Nurse Joy, along with the rest of his team. "It'll take us a while to properly diagnosis your team, but we'll let you know once we have the results," she informed and with a shallow bow, from both her and Chansey, the two went off.
