Username: Geyser Eelborn Nightmare: DenidarPrompt Answer: The second try at the test was even worse than the first. He'd lost count of how often that had happened in the last few weeks. Okay. Tonight, he'd study. Hopefully Niol would keep it down tonight (not that he'd been particularly loud last night, either, a treacherous voice said in his head).

Username: Geyser Eelborn Nightmare: DenidarPrompt Answer: Success! Glorious success at last. Deni couldn't help but do a small victory dance in his seat, scrunching down, wiggling back and forth, and twirling the arms he kept close to his chest. He looked at his brother, caught Niol's amused smile, and settled down, embarrassed to be caught in such a display.

Username: Geyser Eelborn Nightmare: RaniolPrompt Answer: Niol didn't really see the problem--this test had been pretty easy, and yet Deni had had to repeat it a couple times. He frowned. Now this was a first--his brother being better than him at school work! He shuddered and hoped it wouldn't happen again. In the meantime, he celebrated his score in the silence of his mind, where he was dancing a glorious tapdance of victory.

Username: Geyser Eelborn Nightmare: OrisetPrompt Answer: Monday: Took Whiskers home. Found a safe place to put him (I have a cat). Whiskers was a little nervous all night. Fed him many treats (sorry!). Settled down by morning.
Tuesday: Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning! Well, maybe not bushy-tailed, but. Generally happy. Fed well. Drank water. Wanted a cuddle (I think) so I gave him one. He seemed pretty interested in my tail. Tried to teach him how to roll over. Was unsuccessful.
Wednesday: Continued trying to teach him how to roll over. I think he finally understands that I'll give him a treat if he does the trick. Still hasn't succeeded in rolling all the way over. Finally getting used to the pets in the dorm. Roommate's fennekits have stopped paying attention to him.
Thursday: He rolled all the way over today! Victory! I have decided to teach him how to sit and beg. Begging is very important for pets. Gets them more food. Spent the evening flying and hopping around the room.
Friday: Brought him to the store, bought him more treats. Taught him how to sit and (mostly) how to beg. Very friendly, very bold. Nibbled the cat's tail this afternoon, then ran away.
Saturday: Turned around to grab a bag of treats today, found Whiskers sitting on the cat's head. The cat didn't seem to notice (fast asleep, the lazy bug). Tested him out on rolling, sitting, and begging. Still remembers them all!
Sunday: Last day together. I'm gonna miss this guy! He's just such a cutie. Spent a lot of the day cuddling with him, gave him a bath. Didn't seem to mind it much at all (which was a pleasant surprise). Dried him off and went back to cuddling with him, then put him back in his cage and did my homework.
Here's wishing Whiskers well!

Username: Geyser Eelborn Nightmare: KunibertPrompt Answer: Monday: Today I acquainted myself with the flitterrat, whom I believe is named Blossom. I took her to my dorm, found a place for her far away from the rest of the zoo, fed her, cleaned her cage, and gave her a bath. She seemed to open up to me when I gave her some treats.
Tuesday: Blossom seemed quite satisfied to see me when I got home from classes. I played with her in between homework assignments. She is not yet comfortable with the presence of other animals (ie, foxes).
Wednesday: Blossom got another bath today. Rats like to be tidy, I thought that would be nice for her. Cleaned her cage again, decided to teach her a trick. Namely, to sit. I'm not very imaginative. She picked it up gratifyingly quickly.
Thursday: Blossom is slowly getting used to the foxes now that, I think, the foxes have gotten used to her and have stopped reacting to her presence. She still prefers to stay in her cage when they are around. She still remembers how to sit and that I will give her treats.
Friday: Decided to teach Blossom a new trick today: play dead. Probably not going to be a good idea in the long term, but it's worth a shot, I suppose. She seems unhappy when I have to leave for class. This weekend will be good for her, then.
Saturday: Blossom seems delighted that I'm home for the weekend. Spent the afternoon practicing our tricks and cleaning her cage. Hadn't done it in a couple days. I am...bad at this.
Sunday: Our last day together. I gave her another bath and a cuddle. By now she's pretty used to the foxes, not that that will be necessary for much longer. She still knows her tricks and enjoys doing them. I hope she enjoyed our week as much as I did.

Username: Geyser Eelborn Nightmare: MelisaraPrompt Answer: Monday: Brought the little dear home. I'm glad I don't own any predators to mess with her. Settled down well, but spent most of the night awake and squeaking. I never realized rats could be so noisy!
Tuesday: She must be nocturnal, she spent most of the day fast asleep. But when I got back from classes, she was happy to see me. I cleaned out her cage, fed her, and tried to teach her a few tricks. I don't think she understood, but it was fun to try anyway.
Wednesday: I don't want her to be bored, so I decided to teach her a few tricks. I looked up rat tricks online and decided to teach her barrel racing. It looks fairly easy and simple to understand. She seemed to enjoy it, even if she got a bit confused sometimes.
Thursday: Thursday she was really antsy for me to come home from classes. She calmed down once I showed up. She was happy to learn tricks, but happier just to cuddle and play. I'm hoping to teach her to ride on my shoulder.
Friday: I tried teaching her to ride my shoulder today, and it worked out much better. She sat there, nibbling my hair and ears, while I cleaned out her cage. She got a bath, too, which she seemed to like. I think she just likes it when I hold her, but I'm not sure.
Saturday: She decided that flying from barrel to barrel is more interesting than running around them. I can't say I blame her! She kept jumping onto my shoulder in the middle. I may not be a very disciplined rat-trainer.
Sunday: Our last day together! I finally got her to run around the cans. I gave her lots of treats as a reward. I'm going to miss her, she's just such a delight, and full of so many surprises.

Prompt Answer:
Monday: Picked out Pearl from the group of flitterats that were offered... He seemed the most skittish so I didn't want someone that doesn't even know how to hold a flitterat to get him. He stayed cooped up in his cage the entire day. The others were curious but I kept them out of his space.
Tuesday: Pearl finally came out long enough to accept a couple of treats, then disappeared into his hide-y hole again. I'm pretty sure I saw him peeking out when I was playing with my other flitterats, though.
Wednesday: Came home to Rubelite opening up Pearl's cage. She is too smart for her own good... He was out and watching her, though. I let them get to know each other for a few hours. Treats seemed to help. He let me actually hold him for a while, anyway.
Thursday: Woke up to squeaking- Rubelite had opened his cage again and had Quartz with her. I guess they were talking? There wasn't any aggressive behavior going on and I was exhausted so I fell asleep again. Woke up to the three of them cuddled up in Pearl's cage.
Friday: Rubelite has successfully introduced Pearl to Turquoise, Spinel, Carnelian, and Tourmaline. I got them all to fly through hoops- it took Pearl a bit to figure it out but after observing the others he caught on.
Saturday: Pearl broke into the treat stash. He's now a rat favorite. I'm pretty sure I was getting some stink eyes from the group after I took the bag away.. but it's not good for them to have too many treats. : /
Sunday: I actually had to put a lock on Pearl's cage today- they kept breaking him out whenever I had my back turned. I'd put a lock on their cage instead but I'm pretty sure it'd start a riot.

Username: Koiasi Nightmare: Kiessi Prompt Answer:Kiessi was actually pretty sad when they got back the score on their test. Usually, they would at least pass, but for whatever reason they were having a bad day on tests. They'd just have to retake and do better next time, they weren't going to give up.

Username: Koiasi Nightmare: Kiessi Prompt Answer:Kiessi drew in a deep breath when the makeup test came back to them, they knew they had to do well this time! They took their time with each question, marking the answer carefully. There were a couple questions they weren't sure about, but overall they thought they did a lot better this time!

Username: Koiasi Nightmare: Syndri Prompt Answer:To be honest, Syndri really wasn't taking the class all that seriously. The test was rather boring and really didn't strike his interest all that much. They were only taking the class to pass, not because they actually cared about taking better care of their familiars. It wasn't that they didn't like their familiars, of course, they did, but they thought they already took good enough care of them. The things were already spoiled to death!

Username: Koiasi Nightmare: Syndri Prompt Answer:Syndri drew in a breath, almost rolling their eyes when it came time to retake the test. Obviously, they really weren't learning from their mistakes because they got nearly the same result on the test. Well, it showed how much they actually paid attention to things.

Username: Koiasi Nightmare: Syndri Prompt Answer:Somehow, they had actually managed to do even worse this time. Syndri was really starting to think this test was rediculous. Why was there a class on this anyway? He knew it was an elective, but he needed two of them to pass into the next grade.. so why did it have to be so difficult?

Username: Koiasi Nightmare: Syndri Prompt Answer:Right, so this just wasn't their day. No matter how much effort they actually put into the test, it just wasn't coming up in their favor. They were about to bail on the whole class, what was the point in staying around when they obviously weren't learning a thing?

Username: Koiasi Nightmare: Syndri Prompt Answer:Right... so this was pointless. The results were either staying stagnant or getting worse. It obviously showed their frustration with this whole thing. They were about to flip a table and they never tried to show the emotions they were feeling! This whole thing had him beyond infuriated![The views of Syndri do not reflect my own views. I'm amused they're doing so poorly. lol]

Username: Koiasi Nightmare: Syndri Prompt Answer:Alright, so they decided they were going to do it one last time! Just one! When the test came back, they did their best to draw in a deep breath to try to calm their emotions, anger wasn't going to get them anywhere. It took longer than they would have liked, but taking the test so many times had it's advantages. When the result came back and they nearly got a perfect score, Syndri just shook his head. It looked as though the Nine wanted to laugh at him. What a day!
