Chance was smiling not-so-innocently, because he was so winning this fight.
"Aha!" he said triumphantly, and pushed harder, fingers sliding. "I have found your weak spot, I am victorious - holy s**t look at that, they're all gonna die - "
Clearly Chance was still watching the movie while pestering Otto.

"Yeah you'd---" he stopped short to laugh again, trying hard not to spill chips while he wiggled more relentlessly. "--y-you'd better pay attention so you don't miss nuthin!" He squeaked, relinquishing the chips in hopes the torture would end.

He let out a yell of triumph, pumping his fist up into the air.
"Score," said Chance, snatching the bowl of chips and shoving some of them into his mouth, chewing happily. He was nice, however, and leaned over with his shoulder against Otto's, passing the bowl back over to the other with a glimmer of mischief.
"This is an excellent movie," he said, giggling.

Otto took a chip and idly nibbled while settling back into the movie. "Yeah, it's one of my favourites. If only cause of the wicked effects. Seein' s**t so big topple down is all kinds of exciting." He shrugged, "But sometimes it gets kinda preachy." "When really, there ain't no bad guy in this movie."

Chance ate a few more chips, drawn back into the movie, his eyes fixated on the screen.
"Anything super preachy is a bit of a turn off," he said with a laugh, wrinkling his nose. "But you're right, the effects are pretty fantastic. It looks kind of awesome seeing everything go all ******** nuts."
He was very comfortable like this; and somewhere, in the back of Chance's mind, he wondered if that was dangerous, getting so used to Otto's presence; becoming as familiar with him as he was. Experience had told him that getting close to people was a bad idea, after all.
Chance just ate another chip and tried not to think about it too much.

Otto idly picked chips out from the bowl Chance held. The movie was at one of his least favourite parts. Something about being trapped in a slowly filling room of water made him anxious. He shifted in his seat, wiggling to get comfortable again. "Oh my Gooood just open the gates already." Otto grumbled at the screen. "They really drag out the drama."

He noticed Otto's wiggling and wondered if perhaps he was too close; sometime in the last little while, during their silly scuffle and their excitement over the movie, the distance between them had gone down; it was less the wide area that Otto had originally left and was more just a few inches.
Chance carefully sat up a little more, just in case it was this that was making Otto uncomfortable. The warmth was nice, but Otto's well-being was more important, he decided.
"I assume the dragging it on method is just to add to the suspense, but I find that to be a little counterproductive, since it's already suspenseful enough as it is," said Chance, wrinkling his nose a little.

"Exactly. It's got me all antsy, even if I already seen it." He huffed, seeming irritated. He wasn't, of course. He did like this movie, after all. Still, the city destroying parts were way more entertaining than the suspense of the conclusion. He finally settled again, no further or closer to Chance than he had been before. It was cozier here than it had been on the far side of the couch. His feet were up on the cushion, his knees to his chest, and his arms lazily crossing over his middle.

"Do you need something to hug?" Chance deadpanned, but he then he gave a small laugh. "Suspense I think is good if it's done right, but to excess it just becomes frustratingly unsettling, I think." His own experience only ran mostly to books, rather than movies or TV, but it was still the same sort of concept; anything dragged out was just annoying.
He cast a sideways glance at Otto, and some of the worry that he was encroaching into his space seemed to ease, because he seemed much more comfortable now. A little smile touched Chance's lips, and he turned his attention back to the movie, sinking back into the couch.
"I think I'll just have to come to you for all of my movie recommendations from now on," he said.

Otto shrugged. "My taste in movies is pretty linear. You won't get a lot of variety." He said modestly. Maybe Chance would get bored with them. Otto never got bored with them. "I have seen a few Disney ones. I ain't got any though." Stormy did, though.

"Considering I have no taste in movies yet, I like your taste in movies," said Chance, grinning at Otto. He popped another chip into his mouth and reached for another before realizing that there were no more left; he stretched out an arm and stuck the empty bowl on the coffee table before leaning back again.
"I've heard a few Disney movies are good, though I have to say I'm less interested in cartoons and more interested in stuff like this," said Chance, waving a hand at the excitement on screen.

"Well, this is top notch s**t." Otto murmured lightly, as the ten billionth climactic event finally came to a close. "I like the Disney stuff for nostalgias sake."

"This movie is definitely up there in the best things I've seen," said Chance brightly, the thrill of the suspense beginning to seep away into satisfaction. "Granted, I haven't seen like, anything, which you know, but that is totally beside the point."
He tugged on a lock of his hair. "I kinda wish I had seen some stuff when I was a kid," said Chance ruefully. "Then I would have had that sort of nostalgia feel too, but unfortunately not."

"I think I gotta remind you again; that is the point. Ain't nowhere beside it." He smirked, shoving the man beside him. Otto gave a shrug, letting the credits roll because he wasn't feeling like getting up yet. "It ain't that big a deal," He said in an attempt to downplay it. "Can't miss what you never had?"

He attempted to smack Otto's hand away from him, making a face.
"True, very true," said Chance, exhaling a thoughtful breath and letting his gaze drift toward the ceiling. "I mean, I've never really been all that regretful about the fact that my childhood was shitty, but sometimes I do wonder what it would have been like to have something else, y'know?"
