I caught sis as she was heading into one of the rooms, so I'm gonna guess Darren got through alright, too~"Of course, the dark type was unaware that Darren had slipped out to get through his gym battle.

Alex put his badge case away as Nurse Joy showed up once again with his healed pokemon. He got back up to his feet with Eevee taking her place back on his shoulder. She knew that they would probably be continuing their journey, so the small normal type was ready for them to move on. Alex got to the counter and thanked Nurse Joy for healing his pokemon. He took back the pokeballs and put them back onto to his belt where they belonged. With that out of the way, Alex walked out of the pokemon center and back onto the streets. This was going to be interesting, heading home for the first time since his adventure had started. First was Saffron City, but the final goal was Vermillion City. The third gym and his hometown. "Alright, it's been awhile, but I can't wait to show you where I grew up." Alex said, while looking toward Eevee as he started walked down the street, heading for the city limits and the route to Saffron. ["I look forward to it as well, should be interesting."]Eevee replied, actually agreeing with her trainer about them taking a break when getting back to Vermillion City.

Sure, he managed to beat the rockets he faced, but... he felt he had for the most part gotten lucky. Especially compared to how Darren's and Sable's battles turned out. When the other male had come over to check on them, the brown haired male glanced up from the floor, offering a small smile when the male introduced himself as Jin. Gavyn didn't notice, but Merlin was staring at Jin pretty hard. "My name is Gavyn. Thank you for your concern, Jin." he smiled a bit, absently picking at the sleeves of his sweater.

Jin hadn't meant to make things uncomfortable, but apparently he had somehow done just that. Mitsu just kinda spaced out, that clefairy was staring at the disguised zorua, and Gavyn decided he aught to go get himself some food."Yeah. No problem,"the dark type replied with a slight hand wave as if to try and dismiss Gavyn's concerns. He was actually a bit hungry, himself, but he figured he might as well wait for either Darren or Sable before getting a meal of his own. In the meantime, though, that meant staying out in the lobby with Mitsu and the clefairy, something that seemed to be less fun than it sounded at the moment.
After a bit longer, Merlin's staring was making Jin feel rather uncomfortable."...Did I get something on me?"he asked with some slight humor and pulled at his illusionary outfit a bit in order to check for himself. Not that he actually thought something was there, but it was something to distract him from his growing discomfort. Besides, this version of him wasn't supposed to know that Merlin could talk yet, so it was better than directly asking him what was up.

Thanks to the Lunar Wing that Darren had given her, Sable was sleeping rather comfortably. The fact that she had been rather worn out from the trek through Mount Moon helped in that regard as well. Perhaps she had been a bit too tired, as when a small rip in the fabric of reality formed above her sleeping body, there wasn't much of a reaction from the teen. The most she did was let out a light sigh and curl up with the blanket and pillow as she and her belongings were sucked through to a strange new realm.

Darren gave a bit of a chuckle as Misty proclaimed that the battle wasn't as quick as he'd imagined. "Certainly not. You put up a valiant fight Misty." Darren smiled kindly. In truth, Darren had never expected the battle to be a fast one, he was merely trying to ease the fact that he was coming in for a battle late by suggesting that the battle would be quick. He hadn't thought at all about how offensive it was to Misty's ability as a trainer before he'd gone and blurted it out. At least now that they'd battled, Misty seemed satisfied, commented that she knew now how the Rockets felt. Darren chuckled a bit at that, accepting his badge and the move disks she handed him. Before he left though, she insisted that if he ran into any Rockets again, to tell them that she would be waiting for them if they even thought about setting foot in Cerulean. "Will do. Thank you!" He nodded, turning to leave soon after.
With his battle over and done, Darren trudged sleepily back to the pokemon center, a triumphant Pascal by his side, unaware or uncaring of Darren's less than excited attitude about his win. Darren's mind was simply focused on trying to get some sleep, but first on his agenda was checking in on Flynn. Nurse Joy was happy to inform him that the charmeleon was resting in the recovery room, fit as a fiddle and approved to be returned to his pokeball, much to Darren's relief. It didn't take long before the brunette found Flynn and returned him with a red flash of light without disturbing his sleep. Afterwards, Darren entered his room and promptly fell into bed, too tired to change into pajamas or brush his teeth. He figured he could do the latter in the morning after breakfast instead, and his clothes were pretty comfortable enough to sleep in. He only lay there for a minute though when a soft, hesitant knock came a at his door. Darren suppressed a groan. The last thing he wanted to do right now was get out of bed again, but somehow the boy managed to drag himself out of bed and to the door. Much to his surprise it was Gavyn, coming to take him up on his previous offer to share his room. Darren happily offered up the second bed, which currently Pascal was taking up, and was none too happy to be shooed off and returned to his pokeball when he wasn't being cooperative.
Eventually, the exhausted pokemon professor in the making fell into bed for good this time, passing out almost instantly, and sleeping right through the mysterious portal that took him away hours later into the night.

Gavyn was rather shy at first in the cafeteria, looking over his choices from afar quietly. Eventually, he had figured out what he wanted, getting a salad. To him, most of the other foods just seemed a bit... questionable. At least with the salad he could see exactly what he was eating. The brown haired male was still uncomfortable with a lot of the new things, and has yet to figure out what was what. It was all good to him, though - he actually preferred to eat vegetables.
Merlin stayed behind when Gavyn left to get food. The clefairy grinned as Jin thought he had something on him. "No, no. Something just seems a bit... different about you." Merlin commented. He had a feeling that Jin's presence has been near him before, but perhaps not as... this form? It seemed like maybe there was a trick to this, and he was quite curious about it. Could be completely wrong though. He eased his stare into a more casual observing. "My name is Merlin." he added with a toothy smile.
Soon enough, Gavyn returned after eating his salad. "Heh... sorry about that. Um, it's pretty late now though... Sorry i didn't get to talk much with you, Jin. You seem like a nice person. I think I'm going to head off to sleep for the night." Gavyn sheepishly told Jin after returning. Merlin perked up at the mention of going to bed. "Oh, Gavy, let's see if Darren is still open to sharing his room!" Merlin exclaimed. Gavyn shifted a bit uncomfortably, looking off to the side. Normally he would have just made do with setting up camp somewhere outside for the night, but... well, after the encounter with the Rockets, he wasn't so sure about that anymore. Besides, Darren had offered to share. "A-alright... do you... think he's in his room...? I thought we were going to meet up for dinner..." Gavyn replied, fidgeting a bit. He then sighed a bit, turning to smile sheepishly at Jin. "W-well i guess that means I'll be finding his room now. Er... Good night, Jin." he told the male, then followed Merlin away.
Merlin led the way to the counter where Darren had originally gotten the key, using his charm to ask if they knew what room number darren was in. The lady was very helpful and let them know how to get to the room that Darren had borrowed for the night. When Gavyn got there, he reluctantly knocked, feeling bad as the male had come to the door. Oh jeeze... did he wake him? Gavyn was apologetic, but also very grateful as Darren let him in to take the spare bed. There was a bit of trouble with his Chespin for a bit, but it was settled and Gavyn was able to take over the bed and fall asleep, Merlin tucked beside him.

When Gavyn woke up, he noticed that Darren was gone. Did he oversleep? Perhaps Darren had just left early. Gavyn went about his normal morning routine, heading out into the lobby for a small breakfast. He should get around to battling Misty today, so that Sable or any other trainer would be able to make the challenge soon, too.

With Merlin at his side, Gavyn left the pokemon center and found the gym of the town, standing in front of it. "Here we are, Gavy. Ready for another gym battle? Data said this should be easy enough for you." Merlin questioned his trainer. The spectacled male felt a bit nervous, but gave a nod, finally stepping forward and walking into the building.
And was quick to try and run back out.
There were mostly naked people everywhere! Splashing around in the water, showing off all that skin... Merlin had to tug Gavyn with all his might to keep him from running right back out the door. Face bright red, Gavy pulled the neck of his sweater up over his face. "Come on, Gavy! It's not that bad. It's not like they are naked or anything." the clefairy tried to convince his trainer. "N-no! It's too ... l-lewd... " he mumbled, hands held over his covered face. It was way too much for him to handle. Was this really how people dressed for swimming now? It was so... inappropriate.
Merlin couldn't help but chuckle at his trainer's reaction. All the exposure was embarrassing the heck out of Gavy, but to the Clefairy... well, he found it interesting. Sure, back in their time, swimwear covered a lot more of the body. However, it was just one of the many things that he was quick to get used to. Poor Gavyn, though. He didn't even want to take another step. Merlin hopped up with a flutter of his tiny wings, settling on Gavyn's shoulder and patting his head. "Come on, Gavy. I'll guide you to the gym leader. The quicker we get this over with, the quicker you can be out of here." he assured his trainer.
Gavyn knew he shouldn't just back out now, but ... he couldn't handle this gym. Not with... all the nearly nude people. Lucky for him, he had Merlin. "F-fine... but... er, don't guide me into the pool..." Gavyn finally said, voice muffled a bit from his sweater. And thus, the navigation began. "Alright, a couple steps to your left. No, your other left! For mew's sake, gavy, you are gonna fall in!" There were a few times that Merlin had to implement his psychic powers to prevent his trainer from stepping off the walkway and into the water.
Finally, they reached the gym leader. Not that Gavyn could see, but the girl had firey orange hair. "Hey, Gavy, I'm pretty sure that's Misty, the gym leader. ... say something!" Merlin prompted his trainer. Gavyn fidgeted, face still covered with the neck of his sweater. "I-i-i've come to challenge you!" the brown haired male stuttered out of nerves. He fumbled at his belt, able to get Beth to pop out, ready for battle. Hearing Beth's cry, Gavyn was happy with the choice, and then with Merlin's help, he battled Misty with Beth, hiding his face the entire time.

Merlin had to accept Gavyn's winnings for him, since he was still hiding his face and could not see. The Clefairy rather liked Misty. She seemed a nice mix of cute and spunky. Gavyn blushed as Misty mentioned a next time. Nope. Not gonna be a next time. "Th-thank you miss bye!" Gavyn said, turning quickly to leave. Merlin had to act quick to keep Gavyn from running directly into the pool. The process moved so much faster to get gavyn out of the gym.
Gavyn burst out of the doors, and as soon as they shut behind him, he released his face from his sweater, still red. "All the sin in that place!!!" he couldn't help but exclaim. Merlin chuckled, hopping off of his trainer's shoulder and heading to the pokemon center. "Don't you mean skin, Gavy?" the clefairy commented as his trainer joined him at his side. "N-no! W-w-well, yes, but... There was too much of it! All that nudity..." Gavy made a face, shuddering a bit. Back in his time, anyone that showed off that much skin was either crazy or ... promiscuous. It was considered sinful. Either way, Gavyn was glad to let the topic drop as they made it to the pokemon center to heal up Beth. With that done, Gavyn set off to look for Sable and Darren.
Except he couldn't find either of them. The room Darren borrowed was strangely empty, and the assistant at the front desk said that the key wasn't returned yet. That was certainly odd... never mind that in the short time that Gavyn had known Sable and Darren, they didn't seem the type of people to just up and leave without a word. After a while of searching and awkwardly asking around, Gavyn overheard something.
Apparently there have been portals tearing open and swallowing unsuspecting people up lately. Someone called it the distortion world, and he heard it described as a wacky place in which some legendary beast called home. "Gavy, what if they got sucked in by one of those rifts?" Merlin suggested. Gavyn shuffled his feet, staring down at the floor. Nope. That sounded like something he realllly didn't want to mess with. Even if Sable and Darren were good people that might be in need of help. Gavyn shook his head, but his clefairy wasn't having any of it. "Gavy, you are going to go on this adventure. Aren't you even a little bit curious? It's not like people are disappearing forever. You heard that lady, right? She went there and back. Come on, let's go find a rift!" Merlin told his trainer, gently pushing him out the door of the pokemon center with his psychic ability.
Gavyn squirmed and tried to fight back to just stay here and wait, but... well, he had to admit. He was pretty curious. But also quite nervous. He felt like the gym had been more than enough of an adventure for the day. However, he was concerned about what might have happened with Darren and Sable. If they were in this distortion world, were they okay? Was there Rockets in the Distortion World? Were they pulled in suddenly without warning, and managed to get stuck or something? The bespectacled male eventually allowed Merlin to guide him up towards the cape.
"Oh! Look Gavy! the air is shimmering a bit over there!" Merlin suddenly exclaimed, pointing ahead. The brown haired male felt uneasy about this, but... well, his pokemon were fully healed, and he had Merlin by his side. "A-alright... let's get this over with..." Gavyn sighed, then approached as the rift opened, feeling himself get sucked inside.

Alex and Eevee continued through the streets of Cerulean City, heading for the city limits. They were heading for Saffron CitAsy, which was the quickest way he knew right now to get back home to Vermillion City. It had been a long time since he had been back to his hometown. The last time he was there, he didn't have a single pokemon to his name. Alex was excited to show off his pokemon that he had grown close to in his travels. Either way, he knew there was still a bit of time before he actually managed to make it back. Eventually they came to the city limits, but there wasn't much need to look back, so he began onto the route toward Saffron.

As he continued down the route, Alex took his time, not walking too quickly. There was no need to rush and perhaps on their journey home they might run into a few wild pokemon or find some useful items along the way. In the past, he had found some berries that he knew were helpful in a few different ways. These were always the kind of things that made walking around the region much more interesting. Eventually they might have an easier way of getting around, but for now it was the slow process of travelling by foot. Despite that, he made his way for Saffron having made quite a bit of progress already, it wouldn't be long now.

Gavyn quietly appreciated when Sable covered herself up more, and he would have helped her gather her stuff, but she seemed to have more than enough help as it is. And he didn't want to get in the way. The spectacled male, however, was completely surprised as Honey seemed to have transformed into some more dangerous looking wasp. It was quite confusing and bewildering. He had listened quietly to Darren as he went on about what this world was and how they might get out. The brown haired male fidgeted more once Darren had a strange orb thing in his hand. "Um, I-it doesn't seem like a good idea to touch it..." he muttered. "Hm, maybe I can try something..." Merlin commented, moving over to investigate the orb.
Before anything could happen though, a greater presence appeared. Gavyn looked up at the large beast as it dropped Jin to them. Is this the Giratina that Darren was talking about? It seemed pretty scary, and felt like it was getting to be too much for Gavyn to handle. Luckily for them, it seemed Giratina wanted them out, and provided a way for them to get out. The bespectacled male flailed as he was sucked into a portal that was opened up beneath them.

Finally, back to the real world. Gavyn could feel things poking into him, and the tickle of a leaf against his nose. He opened his eyes to find himself stuck up in a tree. Was this... still Cerulean? Everything seemed normal now, and the scrawny male let out a sigh of relief, able to ignore the slight pain of branches poking his sides. He simply layed sprawled against stocky branches, happy to be back and out of that world.
Merlin, however, happened to land safely on the ground, looking around to see where Sable and Darren might have landed. He could sense Gavy up in a tree nearby, so that wasn't a concern in his mind. "Darren? Sable? Jin? You all alright?" Merlin called out, looking around. Though Gavyn was quiet, he knew his trainer was just fine.

Darren chuckled and shook his head as Sable thanked him and Merlin but apologized for how much stuff they had to pick up. "It's not that much, especially when we're all chipping in." Darren insisted brightly. Sable grabbed hold of her cloak when she got her hands on it and quickly threw it over her shoulders to help ease Gavyn's discomfort, though it still had the keystone pin attached to it, and so when Honey grabbed hold of her megastone, she transformed. "Wow!" Darren exclaimed, moving to inspect Honey after he handed Sable the items he had gathered for her, but he couldn't allow her mega evolution to distract him too much. After all, he was slowly coming to accept the fact that this was all really happening, and if they were really trapped there, they needed to figure a way out. He had been thinking aloud, trying to explain to his friends and sort out his logic clearly for himself as well. Sable seemed uncomfortable when Darren began spouting the lore behind Giratina, and Gavyn didn't seem comfortable with Darren grabbing one of the orbs, but this was their way out, or at least it was the best shot they had. The question was how to use the orb. Darren wasn't quite sure, but just in case, he returned Hercules to his pokeball such that in the event of a portal opening up, they wouldn't get separated. Before Darren could set about figuring the orb out however, Jin dropped from the sky. Then, lo and behold, a Giratina hovered above them, casting them out via a portal.
Now Darren was able to fully experience the feeling of being pulled through a rift in time and space, since last time he'd slept through it. Though, now that he was experiencing it, he wished he could have slept through it again. Being pulled through time and space wasn't exactly the most pleasant feeling, it was like skydiving while being pulled in all different directions. When he finally landed back on his bed in the room he'd rented from the pokemon center, he was panting and in a cold sweat, as if he'd just woken up from a nightmare. Darren had to take a moment to collect himself, catching his breath while he tried to relax. Merlin's voice suddenly rang out in his head, so Darren assumed it was safe to say that the others had landed too. "A bit disoriented, but otherwise doing alright." Darren chuckled, slowly making his way out of bed. "I'm in my room, heading for the pokemon center lobby, where are you guys?" He asked, looking to regroup hopefully as he walked out the door and into the lobby of the pokemon center.
