Lip saw the horse bolt to the next hurtle and prepared for the worst. If the horse didn't like bribes then there was nothing Lip could do. He closed his eyes as the hurtle got closer then felt the horse jump... making it over the hurtle. He looked back in complete shock. She did it... Liberty... Jumped the Hurtle! He smiled and pet her a bit, "Thank you... I promise to bring you apples or carrots..." Counts how many hurtles are left. "Alright three more and I'll leave you alone unless its to bring you snacks."

"Keepin' up well, you guys!" Jeong-jae shouted, letting the others know he was impressed at their skills. He was pleased this was going so well. Toby was the best horse ever, apparently, and he was already imagining the path he'd take after dinner to sneak carrots back here. Or maybe he should consider apples. Wondering what this magnificent beast would prefer, Jeong-jae nudged forward his weight for the next leap and cheered up to the sky as they completed another hurdle.
His time would run out soon, he was sure, but for now he was going to enjoy the view of this bright blue sky!
Lip braced himself in hopes that Liberty would continue to jump the hurtles. Felt a bit nervous as they approached the next hurtle, keeping his eyes open this time. Smiled and laughed as Liberty jumped it again. "Way to go girl! That was a great jump!" He told her, patting her a bit.

"Good job, Scout, now let's try this one!" Having already issued her own little challenge for the race to the others, she figured it was about time she started giving a little credit where it was due. Scout really was a good horse, though she'd done a good job convincing Larisa otherwise earlier. That had been a little more her fault than the horse's though, since she hadn't been firm enough with her directions.
Now though, they were making good progress through the course, and Larisa couldn't get enough of the jumps. Maybe she could come ride more every so often, outside of class? She wondered if the others would want to as well. Deciding to ask once the race was done, she moved for the fourth hurdle, and cheered as they cleared it too. Picking up a little more speed, she started towards number five.
In his excitement having been running quickly when he went to jump his next goal he accidentally clipped it right towards the end. Cringing he apologetically pat at the horse apologetically having not sat up soon enough, causing the horse to loose some of its momentum at the last moment. It wasn't to bad a miss, but enough to cause Alec to appear sheepish as he passed by those close to him.
This time he was a bit slower, snorting at himself as he didn't quiet manage to clear the next jump on his 5th go. Still he was undeterred and kept in motion wanting to get his first run out of the way.
This time he was determined to clear the jump, not wanting to cause Vivi any unwanted strain. He pulled himself up, pitching forward lightly as he squeezed down with his legs to keep himself balanced. He gave a holler when he managed to clear the jump."Hm~!" The thundering of hoof beats had his heart racing much the way working with the vertical maneuver gear had.
Maybe it wasn't her day. It seemed that the horse wasn't being nice by just staying in one spot. It just didn't want to leave that spot! Rennati frowned at the horse. "Come on? Let's go? Giddy up?" She tried to convince the horse. Ren forced herself to calm down and not get upset by taking a deep breath. She would try again.
Apparently, taking a deep breath and trying again was all the horse needed! She started making clicking noises with her mouth and the horse responded better to that and started plodding around the arena slowly. Rennati looked at all the others attempting the jumps. Should she try it? Would she be able to hold on? Maybe this would be a better way for her to get around places since she didn't have to walk herself and she wouldn't be falling all the time! At least, she hoped not. She could fall from the horse...and that would hurt even more...but maybe if she just held on tight enough she'd be okay.
Lip patted the horse... started to actually like this cranky daughter of a ..... He smiled a bit as they rounded to the next hurtle. They leaped into the air but not enough. Liberty knocked over the hurtle. They both looked back at it then liberty continued. Lip pet her mane and gave her words of encouragement.... and talk of fruit.

Even though Rennati was a little intimidated by the hurtles, she really wanted to give them a try. Steering Toby around to the first hurtle, she clicked more and used her heels to get him going faster. Not meaning to, Rennati clenched her eyes shut as the hurtle was right in front of them and gasped as she felt herself rise up and over the hurtle. Her mouth turned into a huge smile as Toby slowed down and she tried to remember which one was the second one.

Finally figuring out that she had to go around behind one of them to get to the second hurtle, Rennati once more clicked to Toby. Not being so afraid this time, Ren's eyes were wide open although she cringed a little bit right as Toby jumped. But she was afraid for nothing. They soared right on over it!

There were two hurtles in front of the second one and Rennati had no idea which one she was supposed to do. On his own, Toby sped up to start to jump one of them but Rennati didn't think it was the right one so she yanked back on the reins in a panic. Toby skidded to a halt and eased right in between the two. Sighing in relief. Rennati tried to reorient herself and figure out which one was next.

The race was on to best the hurdle course and Hwan was determined to get in on that action! He gave Vivi an affectionate pat before steering her to join his brother, Larisa and Alec in the center of the arena. They were further along in the course than him but really all that mattered was completing it. Those who did would have bragging rights over those who just did laps, right? Such were the cocky thoughts of an overly confident teen boy like Hwan. He cleared the first one with ease and beamed with pride.
"Ha, did you see that? This riding thing's not so hard after all!" The others were too busy dealing with their own horses to praise him much and so he turned to the instructor, Ervette, and looked to her with a bright grin.
"How'd I do? Am I doing it right?" He wanted all the tricks and tips he could get. Although he'd taken the first hurdle by storm, there were still eight more to go. Ervette was such a friendly and easy going teacher that he simply liked talking to her too. What, after dealing with Baldy all day doing laps and push ups, anyone would prefer the more understanding but still active green lady!

Ervette greeted the second twin as he approached her inclining her head to the teen. It was mystifying how similar they truly were, but she was certain this was the second. "Hawn-jae I presume?" She squinted at the boy before nodding to him, pulling her horse to a halt. I was not her usual horse, she'd lent hers to the efforts of trainees having more mild mannered beasts to work with..although the horse seemed to be rather cranky today because of it making her wonder if it had been a bad choice.
"From what I just watched you and your brother seem to know your stuff you sure youre a newbie?" She laughed, shaking her head in wonder. While she wasn't as intensive as Santos, like him they were all meant to be here to improve upon their skill sets. The military was meant to re-shape them and make them ready for life after basic. Everyone had different methods, and tactics. Her gaze swept over his form, leaning over and giving his back a light push, straightening him. "Make sure you bend at the knees, and balance with your weight in the stirrups. I want to see 8 more." She encouraged, waving her hand for the teen to continue.
