The feeling of a soft nose on her ankle was enough to get Cybele to snap back into reality. Another cat? She smiled at him in a very, very forced way. His vote of confidence made her feel the tiniest bit better, but not enough to help, really. He was right about the fire, though. There weren't many places left that were free from the flames, the heat was getting unbearable, and it was only a matter of time before the building's structure began to fail. Then, she would fall. The cats would fall too, apparently, and it would be her fault.

Jump or fall. Those were her options. And... there were lives depending on it. Lives that were trusting her.

"...Okay," she murmured, a bit shortly. Her fake smile had faded into almost a grimace. Her focus was the fire, and on not looking down, not on politeness. She quickly scooped up the cats, one in each arm, squeezed her eyes shut, took a deep breath... and jumped, before she could think about it too much.

The fall was horrible, the landing awkward, at best, with her arms full of cat and everything. Still, they were safe. This was probabally the part where she was supposed to laugh and realize that it hadn't been so bad, or to relish the victory at least. Instead, she was breathing pretty heavily and had given up even on fake smiling. It had been awful and she was never, ever, ever getting up on a roof again. Ever. Well, hopefully...

"Thank you..." she managed to whisper to Liryn as she set him down. Cora, however, she simply wrapped her arms around again, this time to comfort herself as much as the cat. She couldn't just sit there recovering for very long, though. The Negaversers had gone away, but they hadn't gone. She could feel their auras slipping away, and she wasn't just going to let that happen. She started after them, slowly at first and then faster as her head cleared. Hunting the darkness was sort of her specialty, after all.

Jarosite hissed and took the blow in his gut. Damn b***h could punch, that was for sure. He snarled and made to hit her again, when someone called to retreat. Rift damnit. He snapped a leg out as he turned, aiming for any portion of her he could reach with those steel toed boots and bolted from the burning building.

An insult worse than any words, surely.

He disappeared over another rooftop and was out of sight.

Feel free to have her dodge, and we'll see you next round for more fighting. Jarosite OUT!

"You're very welcome" Liryn said cheerfully to the mint-haired senshi (Cybele). "I should probably be the one to thank you though since you got us all off that roof." And he was really grateful that she had since it had been getting much to hot for any kind of comfort up there, kitty or otherwise.

Getting off that roof was just the beginning though after all even the Negaverse had left this particular area, the city was still abnormally dark and Liryn was certain that the Negaverse was somehow behind it.

He didn't immediately scamper off though, instead first turning to gently nose the senshi's leg his voice serious as he said "Please take care of Cora."

Then he turned and trotted into the city, doing his best to put his best kitty foot forward. That Cora was in good hands with that senshi, was something he was sure off, and that the Negaverse was out there and up to no good was something he was doubly sure off.

Shang nodded to Athene ready to follow him up to the rooftops to try to rescue the civilians, but his moment of indecision cost them when the negaverse and the hostages began to retreat. He gave an Athene a questioning glance at the words the general spoke and nodded his sentiments when Athene voiced those some concerns.

He looked up to the rooftops to see his sister in a battle with another, she didn't appear to be distressed, so when Athene invited him to come along he nodded. There was several other much stronger than him standing on those rooftops, to assist his sister if she needed it, something he found himself doubting she would need.

"I'll come with. I think Maia would want me to find out what going on and help stop it. She will find me later, I am sure. Let's go," he said pointing, "some of the other's seem to be headed off that way."

He looked to his sister once more before heading off with Athene. Maia be safe. I trust you will.

Lycuem gave the jupiter knight an indignant look at his orders. She was certain the still breathing girl was alive, but she nodded no the less, no time to such silly issues. Sarras words brought her out momentary stupor and she loosened her grip on the girl a bit. She gave the girl a sad look trying to push away, the confusion, the anger, the hurt? She wasn't even sure right now what to feel. Nothing about this night made sense and if anything seemed very counterproductive, for Buddy at least.

She missed Sarras checking the girl pulse, but did hear his words and looked to see if the girl would respond. Please wake up, she thought silently to herself.

She looked up alarmed at Sarras next words then extremely confused, "Home, home to where home? You need to take her to a doctor ..." She stopped hearing Jade cough.

"I think she's awake," she said not really paying much attention to her being thanked for her stupid bravery. She was shaking, not wanting to hand Jade over, but if the girl was waking up, she felt more comfortable about it. "A hospital, take her to a hospital or at the very least a doctor. I need to ..." She looked to the other's feeling. She needed to know what all this was about. "Take care of her and be careful. I will try to find you later, if I can. I'm Lyceum."

She took a shaky step back, clearly she was off kilter, running off to do what she didn't even know. She turned to follow the others.

Valhalla's words probably wouldn't have sounded harsh had he been listened with a cooler head, but at the knight's word Ash felt his lip curl and he quieted, nodding his head some as he looked on at the scene before them. It was a mess, to say the least, and he could barely keep up with any of it. Didn't help that just that fact irritated him all the more, but soon enough something changed subtly on that not-so-distant rooftop. Auras were beginning to fade, one after the other. Not quite disappearing, though, and slowly the cogs in his head started turning. Processing.

He didn't wait for words or orders or advice from anyone around him; in fact, he'd tuned them out a while ago as he watched the mess just ahead. The Page's jaw simply tightened before he made a move to follow after them. Whatever they were up to, Ashur figured it probably wasn't happening on this roof. And, truth be told, he didn't really need an excuse to go picking fights right then.

Maia's frowned at not being able to grab hold of the lieutenant, but her whole face colored and her frown deepened at the words spewed at her. Vulgarity wasn't something even in all this that she was overly use to.

"What did you call me," she said her expression only able to be described as completely displeased.

She charged the girl fist balled, it looked like she would swing, but at the last moment she dropped swinging out her foot to kick the lieutenant's feet out from underneath her hoping she would hit the roof top hard. A call to retreat, reached her ears, so she didn't at all stay down, hopping up fluidly to her feet and turning to go after the captain. She stopped though noticing that most of the negaverse that was their had fled and many of order member were heading off as well.

"This is ridiculous ... what are we about to get ourselves into ...", she mumbled.

Valhalla kept hold of the back of the young man’s jacket, his eyebrows knitting together in concern when the officer began mumbling and rocking back and forth, eventually rolling his eyes and glancing up and away around the time the Lieutenant made the sign of the cross.

“Oh stop, I’m not going to kill you,” Valhalla muttered under his breath, although he still did not release the officer. If anything, he wanted to keep people from crowding the civilian (Jade) as much as possible. Of course, as willing to help as the Cosmos knight was, Valhalla frowned, unsure of what to do. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust the other knight but… He spoke about her so… familiarly… Valhalla wanted to ask if he knew her personally, but didn’t want to risk anything in front of the Lieutenant.

“Go on, both of you,” he suggested. “Really, both of you take her. You’ll be safer in pairs,” he told them, not wanting to let the woman know he didn’t trust her emotional state, or that he was unsure about the Cosmos page’s unwillingness to share and familiarity with the unconscious(???) woman. Eventually it seemed as though the woman, Lyceum, was willing to pass the civilian off to the Cosmos page, and while he was still unsure of this situation, there wasn't much they could do there.

“I’m Valhalla… send me a message when you get her to the hospital… uh… if you can…” Sometimes he forgot that not all knights had their rings yet, especially newer ones. “Or… just… take care of her…”

Everyone else seemed to be getting out of there before the fire got even more out of control, and he tightened his hold on the lieutenant again. “Come on, you’ll be no good if you’re dead…” Valhalla said, trying and probably failing to sound intimidating. “Ganymede, let’s get out of here,” he called to the senshi, ready to pick up the officer if he tried resisting.

A smile flashed on Auriga's lips as Kerberos questioned whether or not she had bitten him. "Remember my name -- the Powerful Senshi of Pestilence, Sailor Auri--" Her words were, literally, knocked out of her.

The effort to attack had been jarring enough -- but nowhere near as jarring as the abrupt bite of Kerberos's elbows into her gut. She was totally unprotected and went flying backward, crashing against the ground. Her head clicked backward, and her vision began swimming. The wind had been knocked out of her.

As she lay on the ground, she watched a tiny ant crawl across the concrete by her head. Wheezing, choking breaths hissed out of her, but she dug her nails into the ground and tugged forward. The more distance between herself and Kerberos, the better. Bodies flit past, and Auriga took the cover of others as a temporary shield. She struggled to her feet and took off in the direction she watched several other senshi go.

Strength in numbers? Strength in numbers.

Besides, she wasn't sure facing Kerberos head on would feel any better than getting knocked in the gut had.

Kerberos let out a breath of relief when he knocked the Senshi off, content to let her go. Their distraction was obviously falling apart anyway - quite literally, the building wasn't feeling super stable. So he bolted off, an effort to get out before he ended up on fire or something.

He had a duty to get to the next part of this little arrangement anyway. There were people waiting.

Ganymede was pretty impressed by Buddingtonite's ability to withstand the attack. She could tell he was in pain—and she knew just how much, having felt it herself last year, the victim of her eclipse doppelganger—but he didn't even scream. She'd expected a show similar to last time. Instead, she was left disappointed. Or relieved? Truly she didn't like to hear the screaming, however much someone might deserve it.

But Buddingtonite was a stubborn one. Or perhaps it was foolishness. Or pride. Ganymede couldn't pretend to know him well enough to determine which was the more likely. In any case, he was soon gone, taking the second General (the one whose clone Ganymede had fought when he'd been but a Captain) with him.

The rest scattered, leaving them with nothing more than a burning building.

Two nights of fire in the span of a month. This time it'd been caused by one of their own. Ganymede rolled her eyes and sighed heavily but began to move. She looked around to make sure none of her teammates were stuck in the blaze, and when it seemed to her as if they'd managed to get out of there safely enough, she went to join Valhalla with his captured lieutenant (Tsavolite). “You bringing him with you?” she asked.

Not that she had any idea what Val expected to do with him. Except see him to safety and set him free later.

“Bonsoir, mon ami,” she greeted the lieutenant with a small, teasing grin. She was fairly sure she'd heard him muttering in French just moments before. “Don't worry, personne ne te fera de mal. But it seems you're all up to no good, non? Let's investigate. Fancy coming with us?

“Come on,” she said, and motioned for Valhalla to follow. “Take him if you want, or let him go if you'd rather. A lieutenant's not going to do us any harm. But, you're right. Let's get out of here before this place collapses beneath us.”

With that she jumped from the building to begin making her way toward the large collection of energy signatures she felt in the distance.

Why did the general had to be so cruel? Why did he had to kill his captive? Why did he had to yell to her? Why did he have to throw her? She was just trying to help the girl! She would have sacrificed her life for her! She hadn't seen the egg coming. For a good while the guardian cat Cora sniffled in Cybele's gentle embrace, mourning silently to the civilian and trying to control her anger towards the red-haired general.

Until suddenly, she heard words that were almost too good to be true. "She's alive?" Through her watery fuschia-colored eyes shone a glimmer of relief and joy which reflected from her voice as well. "She is alive?!?" They had found her starseed and reunited it with her? Oh, how wonderful news!

Feeling much better now, Cora was able to focus on more important matters. Like leaving the building... "You're right, we can't stay here," she agreed and prepared to leave the roof with her. But suddenly the senshi froze. Cora turned to look at her. She knew that look. She's scared. Luckily, Liryn arrived with his encouraging words. Cora jumped towards the other guardian cat and gave him a quick, friendly push with her cheek before turning back to the mint-haired senshi. "Liryn is right. You can do it," she said.

And so she did. A little mewing scream escaped from the kitty when they flew down and Cora wasn't sure was she more excited than scared. In the end, they landed safely on the ground.

"You did good," Cora whispered while pushing her head against Cybele's arm as a thank you. But they couldn't stay there or long, all three of them knew that. "Let's go."

"See you later, Liryn!" she called to the gray kitty from Cybele's arms.

As much as Varuna would have liked to get involved with the whole fighting thing going on, she wasn’t stupid enough to jump into a battle without figuring out what side was doing what. Obviously the Negaverse was doing something stupid again, and she would have loved to knock a few of them off their feet with a couple well placed snow slip attacks, but they all seemed to be busy up on the rooftops, dancing around fire and whatnot.

She wasn’t a fan of fire, and even seeing the attack had her shy away from joining in the fight. It was too unruly and dangerous. Not that avalanches weren’t dangerous, but it was a little more controlled than fire. Or perhaps she was just really biased on the subject. In reality, neither was very good and she knew it.

Varuna glanced over to the Dark Mirror Senshi that had helped her once before. She couldn’t remember his name, nor did she remember ever giving him hers — which was all fine and well since she rarely trusted these people anyway, much less Dark Mirror Senshi who would turn around and corrupt her or kill her for all she knew.

On the other hand, she had never seen a Dark Mirror Senshi actually try to kill someone, unlike how she’d seen the Negaverse do so. This one, though. He was loud and crude and obviously not very informed on the situation. Not that she was informed on what was going on, but seeing as though he was Chaos, it was kind of expected.

Even still, the fire was getting too out of control, and while she didn’t like the idea of trying to help someone on the other side, she did kind of owe him for helping her when that Shade Queen attacked the city. Reaching out, the senshi of Avalanches, took hold of the Dark Mirror Senshi’s sleeve, giving it a hard tug, obviously trying to coax him away from the now burning building. The others were all leaving and there wasn’t going to be a lot of time until the building started to crumble. As tempting as it was to try and help put out the fire with her magic, she doubted it would be enough to do any good.

She knew she hadn’t answered his question, but how was she supposed to say other than that she didn’t know. And even saying that would be pointless. Instead she just shook her head, hoping that the look of desperation on her face would be enough to convince him to move away from the scene. Hopefully that would be enough to at least settle a little of her debt.

Probably not, but she could at least try. Regardless of how horrible it looked, and how much she would have liked it to just be a movie set… it was very real, as well as the danger.

With the irritation of the burns on her back and the bruises no doubt forming from the hits she had taken, Cinnabar found it impossible to avoid the eternals hits as she might have if she were fit and able. When a slender leg connected with hers, a grimace stretched her lips and she fell with a snarl of anger. Gravel bit into hip and shoulder when she landed, jarring pain through her body, but she couldn't stop moving... Cin forced herself into a roll backwards to avoid further blows, coming up on hands and knees before she forced herself up the rest of the way and brought her hands up defensively.

Except... the red head had pulled back, turned... Cinnabar stared at her, mind whirling for a moment. There was no way she could defeat this senshi b***h alone and already she could hear her comrades retreating, their mission at an end. Schorl had Galena, injured like this she would only slow them down. It was perhaps time to get the hell out of here, while she had the opportunity.

Turning, Cinnabar all but threw herself over the edge of the building, finding it harder and harder to make her body obey her commands the way it was supposed to. A salute was offered to Schorl in passing; hopefully the captain would understand the lost cause this was and not hold the retreat against her. Maybe she could get Cheryl to put a rush on the patch job when she got to the hospital... if she hurried, maybe she could make it back in time to be of some use tonight. Unlikely, but there was the hope.
