Well, this was a pretty room and OuO had to get a mightily proper stare at it. The gold upon all the trims and the rose theme that it seemed to possess, right down to the doorknobs. It even smelled of it, she realized when she stepped in.
And then heard a thunk.
The ghoul made a face and looked behind her, her hand went to the knob but found none there. It had been open a second ago... but now it was locked. It didn't catch at first that perhaps the answers she needed to get herself out of the room might have been in the rest of the room itself, until she tried to push the door once again. It made her turn and notice everything else.
The fireplace and the wide window (she didn't even consider breaking the glass to be honest) and the sudden flash that caught her eye. With a little skip, the catterpillar made her way over and glad it wasn't too tall to reach. She grabbed the item and looked it over and didn't realize what it was at first. She fumbled a little at first with the picks, she got one end in correctly but the other not so much. Finally with them in her grasp again, the ghoul gave both ends a nice long stare down. Wondering which ends were supposed to actually go into the keyhole part for it to work. Really unsure like, she just sort of stuck them in and tried her best.
And apparently... it worked! OuO wiggled her hands a bit as she finally managed to get herself back outside the room and was more than pleased to see the little treasure box when she did. The roses on the White Queen's grounds were almost as nice as the roses that Mimsy had received, but remained inferior, as far as she was concerned. Still, they reminded her of those roses, and of everything else she'd left behind. There would be new items of significance, she told herself. There was nothing to be concerned about. Everything could still be just fine. Wonderful, really! She followed the scent of the roses, stopping to gently inspect a delicate petal here and there, and noticed too late that she had stepped into a trap. " GRIEF," she shrieked, slamming her palms against the door. "I told you! I told you, Destruction cannot be contained!" After spending a while senselessly screaming and striking the door, Mimsy settled out of her tantrum and began to look around the room she was now confined in. Something on the mantle caught her eye - a set of lockpicks? That was really too convenient. She picked them up, knelt at the door, and chewed her lip as she tried to maneuver the pins into an even alignment. It seemed as if only two or three pins were willing to give way at the same time - when two towards the back lined up, the ones towards the beginning popped out of place. Mimsy held her breath and kept trying. There was another click when Mimsy moved one of the picks again, and all of the pins fell back to their resting state again. She sighed, pulled the pins out, and took a deep breath before she pushed them back into the lock. It was almost instantaneous this time. Finally, Mimsy's excellent dexterity and steady hands had paid off here. She stuffed the picks into her braid, just in case, and hurried out of the room.
