And it was wrong, but the cat didn't seem to mind, thank goodness for small favors. It grinned down at him, carelessly, as it offered the solution, "The answer is a death, but I'm sure you don't need me to explain that one."Except, of course, that it did -- SpringTooth still staring up at it blankly as he tried to figure out what that meant. Death had three legs? Did it? He opened his mouth to ask what the cat was talking about, but it was too late, the creature had already moved on. "All right, now it is your turn. Ask me a riddle, and give me a second to think. If I guess right however, I win. If I don't guess right, then you win, and I will give you my treasure. Come now, ask me anything. A riddle is as good as a story." And this, at least, he could do, relaxing around the edges at the request. He knew a handful of riddles from an old friendship, and he had to pause to think, his head tipped down and eyebrows furrowed, before he came up with a good one. "...I went to the city, I stopped there, I never went there, and I came back again. What am I?" "All right, now it is your turn. Ask me a riddle, and give me a second to think. If I guess right however, I win. If I don't guess right, then you win, and I will give you my treasure. Come now, ask me anything. A riddle is as good as a story." Briar_Rose thought about it for a long time. She attempted to be creative and make one herself, but after a while she gave up on it and said the first one that came to mind. "A blue house has a blue roof, is made of blue bricks and has a blue door. A red house has a red roof, is made of red bricks, and has a red roof. What is a green house made of?" The cat thought about it, thought some more, and flicked its tail. "Green bricks." The cat grinned. She shook her head. "A greenhouse is made of glass." She half-smiled. The cat's tail curled more. "A surprising twist, but I love surprises. You are quite the clever one, and for that, you deserve a small prize. Just this time, of course, just once." A small treasure chest appeared at her feet, just in front of her. "Thank--" she began, but the cheshire cat was gone. "-- you." Confused, she walked on. Wow he was rhyming now.
The cat paused, curling its tail as it stared back at him, and Sombra wondered why it hadn't just shot down his riddle immediately like the last two.
"...life?"
It... was a valid answer, but he shook his head.
"A surprising twist, but I love surprises. You are quite the clever one, and for that, you deserve a small prize. Just this time, of course, just once."
And with that, the cat was gone, a single treasure chest appearing before him.
It felt surreal, but finally, he accepted it, letting out a small chuckle.
Though he hated to admit it, the riddles were... somewhat intriguing. And in a way, this sort of answered it. Simple, yet beautiful.MY STATS

It was a good one, he thought: a riddle he'd puzzled over for a week before finally admitting he didn't have a clue and going back for the answer. It was hard for the cat, as well, it seemed -- tails twitching and eyes narrowing as it dug for something that fit the words. Its mouth, cat shaped, moved around answers and discarded them before finally chancing a guess, "...a carriage?" And SpringTooth couldn't help but grin in reply, shaking his head. He could still remember the way she'd pointed up to the old grandfather clock that hung on one wall, and then back down to her wrist. "It's a watch. It stops so it doesn't go..." He patted at his pocket, and then paused. Here, in this place, he had no watch, and the thought was disorienting for a moment. Who was he, even, here..? As his expression melted into confusion, though, the cat took over the grin, tails curling in slowly. "A surprising twist, but I love surprises. You are quite the clever one, and for that, you deserve a small prize. Just this time, of course, just once." He should have expected it, perhaps, but the reward still came as somewhat of a surprise. "Hello, Cheshire," greeted Ace, who was quite amiable now from her success at the Endless Woods. "How are you?" She was not surprised to be asked a riddle. "What goes around and around but turns quite slowly?" There was a period of time where she was good at them, too, though she hadn't done one in a long while. Thinking a moment, Ace was tempted to answer, 'Myself, doing that maze quest in the Endless Woods', but guessed this wasn't the sort of pertinent answer the NPC was looking for. "A clock," she said finally, "Its hands move around and around, but for someone waiting for a specific time, it can be quite slow." Ace gave the Cat a stern look when he chuckled and purred, "The answer is time," and as tempting as it was to argue with him, she knew this was a pointless battle to wage. When the Cat asked her to tell him a riddle, this gave her equal pause. Now what was something that she remembered from her childhood...? "How is a raven like a writing desk?" She blurted out, before remembering that this was actually in the Alice books and thus the Cat was likely to know the answer. And he did.
