"I'm sure you know that there are shiny pokemon as well as normal-colored ones. But pokemon can have normal coloration with markings in their shiny color, like Ronen does. Those are called Shiny Recessive pokemon. There are also rarer pokemon that exhibit a totally unique coloration, called Color Variation pokemon, and Normal or Shiny pokemon can be Color Variation Recessive. Pairing up pokemon with rarer colorations can produce babies with rarer colorations, if you're lucky." There was of course a bit more to it, but this wasn't a biology lesson.

She was about to ask Sunny more about her research on legends, but the sudden jerking of the sled threw her sideways. She clasped her arms around Ronen protectively as her shoulder slammed painfully into the side of the sled. She suddenly wished this vehicle had seatbelts. "Ronen are you OK?" she asked worriedly, peering down at her pokemon but unwilling to loosen her hold on him. He squirmed a bit from being squeezed, but nodded.

Arissa tried to brace herself in the seat, found little to brace against and gave that up. Instead she looked around to see what might have caused the trouble, and saw some moving blurs that might have been pokemon. They should probably be fought off or driven away. But Ronen had little battle experience out of Contest practice, and that practice was mostly how to make the moves look as pretty as possible. She also was unwilling to let her pokemon loose enough for him to aim. Best go on the defensive, then. "Ronen, can you use Protect? Try and cover as much of the sled as possible."

Ronen nodded and trilled. A shimmering dome of light bubbled up around him, then expanded outward rapidly. Unfortunately he wasn't able to cover the whole sled, but at least part of it was protected now.

"Beautiful job," Arissa encouraged her pokemon. "Try and hold that as long as you can." Hopefully some of the other trainers could drive off the pokemon.

Ducking from the objects being thrown, Kat blinked as a rawst berry bounced across the bottom of the sleigh and came to rest near her knee. She picked it up and squinted at it in confusion. "Berries? Why in the world are they throwing berries at us?" Kat wondered aloud. "And things that explode? Does... does this make sense to anyone else? Aah!" The healer ducked again as the second Delibird came swooping down, covering her head with her arms. This was definitely turning out to be an exciting trip, if nothing else...

Only as bad as, that was good right? While the last trips form what he heard had ended badly at least no one had died? Jack crashed into Xander as the sleigh came to a rather sudden stop, the pokeball he was holding fell out of his hands and rolled across the floor.

Viper hissed angrily as she was suddenly crushed between the two men and coiled tightly around her trainer in a way that was certainly uncomfortable if not painful for the boy. As far as the ekans was concerned he was lucky she didn't bite him. The Ekans rattled in irritation, although the explosion that followed peaked her attention, maybe when her trainer finally stopped crushing her she would see what was going on, maybe it was cold after all.

First pokemon capture, that would be nice. He'd get on that as soon as he manged to untangle himself form the other rocket and was able to retrieve the pokeball. "S-sorry!" He stuttered as he tried to get up again. He was starting to think that it would have been a good idea for the sleigh to have seat belts.

After rummaging around to find a spare pokeball to catch one of them, Zak's fingers finally wrapped around one of them. He pulled it out and threw it at the first bird that had flown over head. He figured it would be better off if they caught the two then let them run rampant, else they would never get to where they were going.

Pokeball go! I want that first Delibird!

"Chris then, pretty, and never stay it will be fun." Lex sighed, tipping his head and gave a stink eye at the delibird. "It attracts pokemon and leads to all sorts of trouble."

He clicked his tongue and summoned his Cottonee, Hollin perking up, ear fins at full mast. He cooed sweetly.

"Hollin, Cotten spore." He called calmly and smiled as the pokemon puffed up and let loose a flutter of cotton spores.

For a moment Aya was silent. Then when she opened her mouth her voice was low and soft. "I wasn't always as appreciative of what I have. I was born like most wealthy children. Spoiled and selfish. Nigel changed that in me. I realize there ARE other people out there who deserve but have nothing." She reaches out to scritch Chopin on the forhead lovingly.

Blushing Aya turned her head when he mentioned never skating. "I used to skate competitively as my mother used to tell me 'Like a well bred girl' I actually brought my old competition outfit. I use it as a winter coat now. Its a very warm faux fur Vulpix dress with a hood with ears and the tails to match. Very would have a heart attack if I wore real fur" She chuckled softly. Moments later the Sleigh began to shake and she watched as the other trainers got up to battle the Delibird appearing around the side of the sleigh. "Oh gosh" She watched the sleigh bounce and the pokemon inside attacking the birds.

Momentarily she looked up to see Very's eyes glow blue. Tiny balls of blue fire materialized around the four of them and shot of into the night with the intent of scaring away the intruders. Whom they hit meant nothing to the vulpix as long as she and her companions were safe.

Xander had to stifle a chuckle when Jack looked puzzled for a moment. Said chuckled could not be held back any more when Viper took charge and attacked the Delibirds. "Who's the pokemon trainer here again?" He teased with a smile and a nudge.

Page had managed to squeeze herself and her bags into the sled with the rest of the trainers and tucked near the center, found herself craning to see anything other than the team of pokemon pulling their sled. Still, it was beautiful and thrilling and for the first portion of her trip, as others talked around her, Page just sat and observed, lost in her own thoughts.

Data was still in his pokeball on her belt. She hadn't thought to release him before climbing in. As such, when she was thrown against the person beside her and the pokemon sped by, she couldn't get to the small ball on her belt. She barely caught a glimpse of the pokemon that sped by the sled. What she did see though where the small gifts dropped from a delibird as it fluttered over the sled. Page squealed with delighted fear and ducked as one exploded near her.

Trapped as she was, she had little choice but to let the other trainers go after their first sightings as she struggled to get Data's ball to hand.
