At least she supposed that, seemed a little obvious, no? But maybe Keone had gone to close, the giraffe /finally/ saw them, and reared up on its hind legs; wich, haden't not been for its sized, looked rather pathetic sense its balance was almost entirely lost, and it barely brought itself back onto all fours before running away; wich also looked awkward.
though, the size had alarmed Karama, if it fell /on/ them, there would be trouble, but the quickest reaction wasen't that to retreat, but to advance a quick step or two; she rarely had the need to back away. Only after that, did she take a leap back, short fur on end, and tail lashing to the sides.
She lands almost like gelatine, emmediatly into a crouched position, but the giraffe runs. Her ears were still back, but now, this was just...
"Pffft. "
This is clouded with asmall laughed, no, she wasen't laughing at the giraffe's awkward moves to run , she was laughing at the fact something so /slow/ had startled her. Though, something that big, if not for its cowardice, could in a way be dangerous, odd as it seemed.

The small leopard quickly scurried backward. He had been fascinated, but he didn't like the giraffe's sudden actions, not at all. He hadn't thought about the fact that the creature probably didn't like him getting so close either. He remained ducked in the grass, a few feet behind Karma until the creature was nearly out of sight.
"That was scary..."

"You don't know scary till you've seen a crocodile! "
She turns around to face him, but with a rather playfull grin. She remains crouched to the ground, paws gathering under her to be ready to spring up. Could Keone be scary, anyways? He seemed to.. Friendly? She pushes forward to headbutt him, for once seeming playfull. But she dodges to the side, brushing past his shoulders then slipping away, looking back. "I think you can outrun those dumb lizards, though, their rather slow. " She blinks, sure, they were slow, but she didn't want to know how the wildabeast felt when they were torn into the water.
"But I doubt you can outrun me, your probably as slow as a limp gazelle~ "
Though, its obvious she's joking, having seen him on the trees was fast, imagine on the ground, in the open? Sure, he might need getting used to grass, but he was surely fast.

The small leopard stood still for a moment, rather surprised by Karama's actions. But a moment was all it took for her words to sink in.
"Hey! I am not slow!"
If there was one thing Keone could do it was run. He was small, light, and extremely agile, something he owed to his jungle life. But even so, running in the jungle and running on the grassy plains were entirely different. The grass tickled his paws and affected his gait.
Still, he was fast, very fast, paws quickly carrying him to catch up with the leopardess. Unfortunately his uncertain steps caused him to trip, his paws knocked from under him he sprawled across the ground before skidding to a stop with his muzzle in the dust.
"owwwww..."

The female only took two strides to notice Keone had fallen, and grining, slowed to a stop, turning around, then trotting over to his form, sitting down next to him as if it were no big deal; she had expected him to be a little odd now, grass was different from the bushes and dirt in the jungle.
"Not used to grass, eh? You can't let your paws slide over the grass. "
She pokes his shoulder with the back of a front paw.
"Hurt much? "

"No...I'm alright."
The small leopard slowly made his way to his feet then shook to clear his head and the dust from his hide. Well that was emberassing.... He was unharmed, physically at least, but he did look rather dejected. As if he hadn't done enough things wrong today.
"...stupid grass."

Karama said with a purr, before ducking onto the grass, wich wasen't tall, and only reached her heels. Her tail curls behind her hind paws, and she looks up at him.
"If its long enough, its perfect to hide in. "
The leopardess said, before adding.
"See, out here its not as.. safe as in the jungle. Anything bad in there, you can climb up a tree... "
She motions to his paws, lions, hyena's and qwild dogs coulden't climb, lions could get to a little branch, that might be close to the bottom of the tree, but can't reach high. 'Normal' cheetahs didn't climb either, their bodies didn't fit tree's to well, but they could probably reach higher than the others.
"Here, there won't always be trusty tree's, you gotta use everything you got. I'd say you are quite smart for staying in the jungle, Keone. Its safe, there aren't too many hyenas or lions in there, and just enough food, you only need to catch more than one thing. "
She chuckles half-heartedly.
"I'd have probably been safer in there, too.. I just don't like staying put. "
Truthfully, the forest was a very safe stronghold for leopards, they ruled the tree's, they had strong neck and jaws to take prey up. But her safety was actually a little different, it was harder to find her is she kept moving on, even if she risked meeting something dangerous while moving.

Keone didn't really understand what she meant. He had stayed in the jungle because that was what he knew, it was his home; he wasn't there because it was safe or he thought it was the smart thing to do...he just...liked it there. Why he couldn't say, he never really thought about it.
Settling back on his haunches, the leopard's tail flicked lightly behind him, stirring small bits of grass and dust. His ears flicked, green eyes looking around them for a moment before his gaze settled on the leopardess.
"So what do we do now?"

"There isn't much to show you, now.. I don't think rhino's are ever a good idea to go looking for, nor crocodiles. And it is starting to get darker. "
She murmered the last part; darkness was fine to her, but maybe Keone woulden't like it out here at night? It was much easier to stay out in the dark knowing you could just run up a tree, but Karama was so used to the feeling of being vulnerable, that she'd started to grow used to it. Indeed, the sun, despite still shining, was starting to get closer to the horizon, and the further it got down, the darker the opposite sides got.
"We can go back to the jungle if there's nothing you want to see. "

The small leopard turned, looking toward the direction they had come and the jungle that lay beyond. He did miss it, it was his home after all, but he wasn't afraid...well at least as not as much as he had been.
"I guess."
He was a bit confused, why should the dark have anything to do with it? Keone may have startled easily and been terrified of snakes and wildebeast, but the dark didn't really bother him. He often walked through the jungle at night, it was the best time to hunt because sleepy creatures were easier to catch.
Green eyes looked toward the sky, taking in the changing colors as the sun faded and dusk approached. Wow, it was beautiful, he'd never seen the sky look like that from the trees of the jungle. In this light the grass glowed, the land ignited in the color. So, this land did have it's beauty after all.
But the jungle was home, it always had been and always would be, and even if he strayed far away his heart would always be there.
"We could...watch the stars from the trees?"

The leopardess blinks awkwardy; watch.. stars? She stares at him for a good while, as if she didn't understand any word he said, or as if he just said something absurd. Truthfully, she'd never really stopped to look up at the sky, only to find vultures, so she knew if any lion might be around killing something. Her orange orbs are blank for a few moments, before she raises them to look up at the sky, then down at her paws.
"I never really wached the stars before. "
She murmurs to herself, looking almost embaraced, but it was a bit of a reflex to Karama, she did so many things, it felt odd to think about those she didn't do.
"Err... Sure. "

The leopard's ears fell, confused by her reactions, he thought he might have said something wrong. His tail flicked nervously behind him as he sat back on his haunches, green eyes looking toward the sky to avoid her gaze.
"You haven't? They're pretty, I like to pick out shapes in them."
Oh, so he hadn't upset her, he'd just confused her. Was he really so odd? Karama seemed so different from him, but he couldn't help being attracted to her, like a magnet that drew him to her side.
Smiling ever so faintly, he stood to his feet and gently nudged his head against her neck. Turning toward the way they had come, toward the jungle, he looked back over his shoulder at her.
"I'll show you."

"Shapes? Don't they look the same? "
She asked indignantly, how could those little dots show shapes? She looks about to object for a moment, like anything of the sort was utterly impossible, but if for a moment that went in to her mind, it was out in a second with the flick of an ear.
She felt tiny nudge against her neck, followed by the words of her friend. Karama can't help but smile lightly, she moved to stand at his side.
"Thanks. "

Keone set off toward the jungle at a trot, or at least he hoped he was going the right way, all he had to do was go back the way they came right? Though things were starting to look a bit different in the twilight.
"Well no, some are brighter than others, and some are so dim you can barely see them, and groups of them together can make neat pictures."
He nodded, grinning at the leopardess before a thought caused his ears to drop and his gait to slow to a walk. Oh...the herd, they'd have to back through them again wouldn't they... Silently he prayed that the herd had moved on.

She looks up to the sky, even without stars, she was trying to imagine that, all she noticed of stars were some little dots whenever she gavesome casual looks up, or looking forward while the sky was in sight at the horizon.
But then she took notice of the ears, they'd flattened back again, and she nudges his shoulder with her nose, she had a vague idea why. Though, it could be something different.
"Whats rong? "
