Normally Shik would squint at Lan for shooting him, but seeing as for once the damn projectile didn't actually hurt, he let it go.
He was still watching her though.

And then to make sure Shik most assuredly did not die until she said so, she fought past the pain resonating throughout her body and threw herself in front of him once more, spinning through the air and beating back the claws that would attempt to skew him as best as she could manage. In reply to his comment, she shot him a quick, dark glance. "Who are they? They can't have you and I'll kill them before they touch you."Not only had she missed that he might have meant her for one of the women, she was also, apparently, feeling very possessive at the moment, and might have let more slip in her current state then she had meant to. NPC ALERT~She was not really that approving of the way the chicks were acting up. Was that some of her war babies getting their butts handed to them? It better not be. TRAINING! Clearly when this was done, (and they won), all these foals and fledglings needed more training. Flailing about as they were.... She would need to encourage them. So she did another warcry. Yeah, that would rally their troops. BUFF DROP The Next 3 Attackers may roll 1d4. For the number they roll, they feel invigorated, and can move so fast they dodge attacks for that many times. (AKA the number you roll is the number of turns you can take without taking damage.).

Feeling himself being worn down some more, Tseng was wondering how much longer he could hold out. But then, he heard that warcry, which invigorated him even more than before. Letting out a loud whoop, he began to move quickly. Yes. THEY MUST CONTINUE TO FIGHT.

"I said no dying!" he shouted down at Lan, though he had to admit her last attack had been impressive. Not the flopping down part, but the arrow barrage part. Well she got a grin which was a lot more than the Conquest woman normally got, so that was something.
This was followed by a laugh at Shaheen's comment, though Shik didn't answer at first. First he had to add to the rallying cry with a bellow of his own and a manly beat of his chest.

In the middle of a battle, a smirk was far more telling than a smile and he happily accepted the retort from the mysterious priestess with his own small smirk. The fact that she was increasingly bloody and battered only served to erase the little up tilt of mouth, but there was little for him to do as Shaheen stepped forward toward them. Giving spoken thanks seemed silly at the moment so he only nodded once and gripped his sickles all the tighter. A breath was taken before the charge, but instead of him attacking... He felt much better! Awesome! "For the songs they shall sing!" He shouted as he darted forward. With a swirl of some very dark and spooky looking mist he attacked the creature, swiping quite hastily and doing far more damage than he thought. Ah ha! Fantastic! "Holding up alright? Feel any better yet?" He asked with a grin of the dark priestess. Was that a war cry she heard? Shaheen's eyes rose to the sky even as she dodged a swipe of the shadow creatures claws. Yes, indeed it was! And even as Shik joined his voice with the war woman's, Shaheen did as well, feeling a burst of energy even as the cry escaped her lips and she darted forward again.

Her energy momentarily restored, the war chieftain was able to move more swiftly around the enemy, avoiding any raking claws that came her way before she ducked in and slashed at it with her dagger. Shik's comment had her almost falling out of the sky, however. No return comment was given just yet. Try as she might to think of a response, she just couldn't do it. In fact, she was so thrown that her attack, that would have most assuredly been awesome otherwise, was pretty much just pathetically weak in comparison to those that Shik and Tseng were landing. She was definitely not happy about this. Her lips pursed into a thin, firm line, and the look on her face turned stony.
