Nope. She couldn't stop now. Even if the ground was feeling immensely comfortable, she could hear the shadows making mischief behind her. Oh why oh why was the rubble and dirt so comfortable? Couldn't the other hunters deal with it?
That was slacking, and that was lazy. Ami grumbled and pushed herself off the ground, wincing as she accidentally got dirt in one of the cuts. That was going to need to be cleaned out later, uck. She steadied herself for a moment. She was okay. Always okay. Just fine.
Oooh not so fine. She leaned on the closest thing next to her- the building, thankfully not a person- and took another moment. She could already see hunters attacking.

My shield's not down, is it?
< Uh nope. >
Then I can do this.
With that logic in mind, she headed inwards and slashed where she could on the outskirts. She couldn't risk going all the way in towards the center, but from here it was okay. It was good enough. Satisfactory. She was definitely going to pass out after this.

Gale's only response to Otto was to very maturely flip him the bird before he gave Lex a mildly disgruntled look, as though he were irritated by the interruption - though his shoulders relaxed after a second, and he patted the other hunter's arm in a silent gesture of appreciation. Jake was also given a slightly exasperated, though also faintly amused look, Gale jabbing the trainee in the arm.
Someone knocked into him from behind, and Gale blinked, startled when he realized that the face that appeared was an unfamiliar one - but she was holding a rifle.
"I'm fine," said Gale cautiously, though this was pretty obviously a big fat lie. He tilted his head a little. "You're new, aren't you? What's your - "
Except the rest of his sentence was never finished, since they were, it seemed, interrupted by the giant black thing.Quote:

Otto loves you too, Gale.The teenager groaned as the King of all Shadowlings appeared. He would have been horrified if he wasn't desensitized to this sort of thing. After all, it was very large. But Otto Graves had seen worse. He'd seen so much worse in his short life. The blonde gritted his teeth, twirling Tenya in several wide circles before hurling her toward the giant, taking out a good chuck of the behemoth's strength.

And just like that, everything and everyone around him burst into motion. Firing, slicing, slashing, all focused on a common enemy. So yes it may have been like this earlier but Before wasn't in the right frame of mind for it. Right now, a soundtrack was playing in his head and everyone was dancing to it. Who was he to fall back and watch?
From where he stood, laser-ribbons hissed at him, seemingly anticipating for him to move elsewhere. Before remained where he was as the attack fell all around him. He grinned, hefted Vanna on his shoulders, and fired.

Ami gave a tired sigh and swiped across her shoulder, stabbing the shadowling's hand upwards. It gave a screech, but it was nowhere near defeated.
Right about now she would've given a battle command, but she was just too tired.

It was odd. He wasn't getting attacked. Not at all. Tenya sensed nothing that would cause his Fear Shield to crumble. Nothing to fear. The teenager gripped his weapon with resounding confidence, hurling it once again at the giant target in the distance. Even without the threat of getting hurt, this was one of those times he was glad to have a weapon that doubled as mid range and long range.

From across the battlefield she saw another streak of pink. Was that Otto? It looked like Otto- it was hard to find full hunters that she didn't at least somewhat know.
He certainly had the same grumpy expression, but ... pink ...
This would require some later investigation.

Before was still listening to the music in his head, deciding that if the runic headphones and runic ipod Gale had gotten him survived all of this, he'd find the time to add more classical music in his selection. But right now, everyone had a monster to take down.
As he sidestepped past another feeble attempt at him, Before realigned his aim and shot again. The spikes zoomed forward, soaring past a fellow hunter's shoulder.
"Oops! Sorry! Didn't nick you, did I?" Before called out, not recognizing Jake.

Unaware of Ami's intent to talk to him about the unfortunate state of his hair, Otto continued his relentless onslaught of long range attacks. His Fear Shield still held on despite its thinned out strength, his wounds holding up despite his constant movements.

About to lash out at the creature again, he took a step forward... apparently into another hunter's attack.
The over-sized shield nicked him in the shoulder, but it still hurt like hell.

He turned at the voice, frowning at the brown-haired hunter.
Thankfully, his FEAR shield protected him, so the weapon didn't draw blood, though his shoulder was slightly bruised.
