Her own eyes slipped closed as she leaned her head upwards to gently capture his lips. Melting into his arms as a warm tingly feeling spread through out her body. Vyth just wanted to stay like this, in this moment, in his arms forever.
After what seemed like an eternity she pulled back. Her eyes half closed as her heart beat heavily in her chest. For a moment it felt as if the world were still spinning and she was about to fall off. "We should....probably start thinking about heading to bed here soon."

It felt like an eternity, but the kiss still ended too soon for him. There were few perfect moments, Gabe knew that much, and that had been one of them.
He was still floating in a very happy headspace when her voice slowly pulled him back to Earth. "Huh? Oh, yeah, I...guess we should..." He agreed. It was getting late, and they'd need to be up early to pack everything up. Still, he didn't particularly want to move.

She was finding it really hard to move herself. The will to unwrap her arms from around him and stand up just wasn't coming to her. Of course, they couldn't stay out here all night as much as she didn't want to move.
"Mmmm maybe wait just a little bit then. I'm having a hard time getting motivated to get up." Vyth buried her nose against his chest, taking in a deep breath before slowly letting it out.
Yea, all motivation was gone.

"Me too," Gabe admitted. Staying out at least for a little while longer seemed like a great idea. This was comfortable and peaceful and everything he'd been hoping for when he agreed to go on a camping trip with his girlfriend.
Yup, he really saw absolutely no reason to do anything but stay there and cuddle.

"Well I think we're in a bit of a predicament then." She giggled lightly, tilting her head up just slightly to n** at his jaw lightly with her teeth. Squeezing him a bit tighter she sighed. "Tell me a story about the stars."

"Are we?" Gabe asked. "Because I don't see a problem." He blinked, looking up at the stars and thinking. "Hmmm...Have you ever heard the story of Cassiopeia?" He gestured at one of the constellations. "See, she was a queen, and she had a very beautiful daughter, named Andromeda.."

Vyth stuck her tongue out at him. "Never said it was a bad thing." Her eyes traveled up to the sky, squinting lightly at the constellation. She wasn't to sure how it was suppose to be shaped. Or which starts connected in the constellation. But it was fun to hear the stories behind them.
"What was she the queen of?"

Gabe snorted. "She was the queen of Aethiopia, with her husband, Cepheus, who is actually in the stars right next to her." He gestured. "Now, Cassiopeia is upside-down, and there's a reason for that. See, she was vain, and proud of her daughter's beauty too. So she claimed that she and her daughter Andromeda were more beautiful than the Nereids, the sea-nymphs. The Nereids went to Poseidon, god of the sea, and he sent a monster to destroy Cassiopeia's kingdom as punishment."

"Sounds romantic. Being immortalized in the stars together." She gave a slightly dreamy sigh.
Vyth scrunched her nose up slightly. "That seems kind of a harsh punishment just for that. I mean, couldn't they just ignore it? Or did the Nereids need to hog all the beauty for themselves?"

"It kind of is, isn't it?" He agreed. Being together forever, and all that.
He snorted. "Yeah, Greek deities and such were kinda known for disproportionate retribution? They got all weird when people claimed to be better than them. And it gets even worse." He said. "See, Poseidon said that in order to stop the monster, Cassiopiea had to give up her daughter. So they tied Andromeda out to a rock on the shore to be eaten. She was lucky, though, because the hero Perseus came swooping in right when she needed him, slew the monster, and rescued the princess."

"Kind of sounds like the Old Testament God. And people can't see these similarities?" It was really an offhanded comment. Vyth wasn't religious but she could easily see the similarities from older, polytheistic Gods to the newer ones of monotheistic religions.
Well, she was at least glad this story had a happy ending. With all the swooping in and Princess rescuing. "Was it really that easy? He just swooped in, killed a monster a God sent and saved the Princess?"

"I think people that study religions look at that stuff, but average people sort of overlook it the way they overlook a lot of things," Gabe said.
"I guess so," he said. "Perseus got to marry her, too - I think he got an easy time of it with Andromeda because he'd just gotten done killing Medusa. and, you know, he was Zeus's son," he laughed. "But Cassiopiea herself ended up hung upside down in the stars, to punish her for her vain behavior."

"Some people might not even notice their noses were gone off their face some days."
She gave Gabe a small squeeze. "Well yea, I think being the son of a God would probably make it pretty easy for a person to do things like that."

Gabe laughed, nodding. "They might not," he agreed.
"You'd figure so, right?" He said. "Perseus has a great story all his own...I found that I love the stories about the constellations as much as I love the science, you know? Some of them are really sweet."

"Ah, I didn't know you had such a love for all that romanticism, Gabe. Do you read smutty romance novels like Esme too?" She laughed then yawned lightly. "Maybe you can tell me his story another time. I think I'm going to fall asleep here soon."
