Tibarn laughed and dumped Bill unceremoniously on the ground. "Make sure they know he knows how to make bombs. Grill him for information, then see if he can lend that expertise to our mines, maybe," he rumbled, turning back to Rajin.

"Good to hear," he told him, running his fingers through his hair. "Means I can just wait. We, ah, we were kinda busy with a bomb. I'm just glad Calill was here and knew what to do." He grinned back at the clever sage and offered her a wave. "Wish I'd known all we had to do was get it wet." He looked around expectantly, ears perked for the sound of Amelia's heavy armor on the cobbled streets. "I'm, uh, I'mma go see if I can meet her-- them-- on the way here, alright? Sunil, you comin'?" He spread his wings and took off, flying low over the street, just above eye level, turning back the way from which Rajin had come to go intercept Amelia! "Hey!" he called ahead as he spotted her, angling quickly down the street she was coming up, "It's cool, we're fine!"

Tarr panted, leaping and grabbing a windowsill as he hauled himself up to a third-floor balcony after the retreating Shadow Guild member ahead of him. A leap of faith, and he managed to get his hands around the bars of the balcony railing, and hauled himself up until he could swing himself over it, kicking in the door through which Murphy had just run.

He charged through the residence, leaping over a table and chairs, and grabbed the door before Murphy could close it, following him out into the hall and losing ground on the long sprint. By the time he got into the hotel's foyer, Murphy was on the second floor mezzanine and heading for the stairs to the first floor. Tarr was breathing heavily, and struggling to load his crossbow while running. He swore loudly at the sight of Murphy, and swung himself right over the railing, leaping down to the mezzanine and stumbling a little before bolting to the stairs, saving time by leaping the railing again to bypass about fifteen steps.

He charged out the front doors after the retreating figure. "Get back here and fight me, yeh little t**t!" he roared, firing his bolt and snarling as it passed just over Murphy's shoulder. Murphy was good at this-- Tarr had to stop a moment to catch his breath as he watched the lithe assassin scale a shopfront, and then he ran a few feet up a pillar before kicking off, grabbing hold of a balcony ledge, and swinging himself up onto it. He turned back, panting, then jumped up onto the rail and leaped off it, snatching the ledge just below Murphy and relentlessly following him. "You're not... gonna get away from me!" he growled, failing to grab his quarry's boot but not missing the assassin's foothold and using it to continue hauling himself to the roof behind his opponent.

Amelia led the others through the streets as Rajin forged on, Sunil close by. With Shyirah, Iris, Alex, Ewan, and the others close, she could be a little more reassured that no one else would be picked off in the interim. <******** bandits, wish it was their lot having to deal with this s**t, she thought, fatigue and fury and disappointment all wrapped up in one. Rajin had definitely gotten a good lead on them -- they were all on foot, and Amelia was encumbered by her armor, even, while he was able to run on all fours when transformed -- but Tibarn seemed more than capable of meeting them partway. She gave a weary smile and lowered her lance a little, nodding. She waved a hand and gestured for the others to follow before approaching him, using her free hand to comb her hair away from her eyes. "Good, that's-- that's good. No other casualties."

She took in a deep breath, then let it out slowly, biting her lower lip before speaking again to Tibarn. "We need to get the center of the city cleared and get the <********> out of here. We've been here too long, we're losing men and women like flies, and-- and we've lost Wallace now, too. We can't stay here much longer. This is turning into more of a death trap than I would've thought. Is the outer ring of the city completely clear?"

---

It sort of went without saying that the situation was not good at all.

On his way back to rendezvous with Tyce, this blond pirate had apparently noticed him. Being able to put two and two together -- something Murphy was realizing was less of a premium in this army, he had immediately set to hunting him down. And Murphy could definitely feel the adrenaline settling in his throat, breath catching as he sprinted across a dining hall. He pressed his hands onto the edge of a table as he approached it, leaping up onto the surface without breaking stride. He leaped from there to a chair, then to the floor and out the door. A little hiccup of panic grew in the pit of his stomach as the pounding footsteps didn't so much as pause, and the telltale sound of the door slamming closed didn't herald his exit. Where-- next exit-- different ground-- where he can't--

Murphy had managed to slide through the bars on the third floor balcony and down to the mezzanine on the second floor, hardly missing a beat as he tucked into a roll and then up to his feet in order to sprint for the stairs. He had managed to get out the front doors and was heading down the street when he felt, rather than heard, the rush of air that accompanied his crossbow bolt. Murphy shivered, able to feel a bit of air against his shoulder now where his shirt had been sliced open, and let out a ragged breath as he pushed himself to move faster. Can't stop-- can't-- need leverage, something-- ledge--

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Murphy leaped onto a barrel and, from there, clambered atop the small awning over the door, and continued up from there, using the windowsills above the entryway to make his way up. He continued in this manner, struggling to catch his breath, breathing through his mouth. Though the bleeding had long stopped, his nasal passages were still clogged with snot and dried blood, and he didn't have a moment to spare to do anything but run, much less blow his nose. It was about then that he felt the rush of air that accompanied Tarr's swiping hand -- and how it narrowly missed him, only clutching onto the windowsill instead. "Augh!" Murphy shrieked instinctively as he picked up the pace, brown eyes wild as he finally hauled himself up onto the roof. "You're-- certainly doing-- a fine job of-- making good on that!" Murphy managed to yell back at Tarr as he sprinted to the edge of the roof, and with a powerful push off of the edge, managed to leap across the wide alleyway and tumble onto the adjacent building. "Hhhah... hahh..." Murphy gasped for air as he pulled himself back up again, ignoring the cuts on his face and palms. He leaped across the next alleyway after that, smaller this time, before fleeing inside the building, door creaking closing behind him.

His breath came in rasping, desperate pants as he slid down the railing to move towards ground level faster. It gave his legs a moment of rest, at least. He was still back on two feet too soon, though, as he burst out of an emergency exit on the alleyway side of the building. With Tarr nowhere to be seen, Murphy pushed himself forward, muscles screaming. Just a little farther-- just a little farther, and then you can-- where he can't reach you--

Tibarn landed beside Amelia, falling into pace with her as they made their way back toward the center of the port city. “Wh-whoa, what? We lost Wallace?” It was sobering news; Tibarn could scarcely imagine that living wall of a man lying dead in the streets, taken down by mere bandits. He’d never exactly known Wallace well as anything except an absolute tank, but Amelia had been closer to him, as a comrade and one who shared his combat style.

“I-- I’m sorry,” he murmured, pulling her close. “We are… losing a lot of good men here. We need to pull out of Pentheus so we can regroup with the main army. Come on,” he said, letting go of her as he picked up the pace, flapping his wings a bit and flying low ahead of the group, leading them back toward the center of town to regroup so they could pull out.

Captain Tarr dashed across the rooftop after Murphy, losing a little ground again, and watched the little s**t lunge straight across the alley to the next building and head for the rooftop door. The jump was a little long for him, but he also didn’t think he’d have to make it; he grabbed the utility hook-- for opening barrels, sliding down the rigging, catching swords, there was all kinds of useful stuff a hook could do for a pirate-- off his belt and jumped, swinging it out and grabbing a bar secured between the two buildings. It was normally for hanging banners, but it would do for Tarr’s purposes-- he swung around it and hit the ground without losing momentum, dashing around the corner and through the alley next to the building, drawing his blade and pressing his back to the wall, waiting right at the corner.

Murphy focused on moving forward, panting as he rubbed one hand against his face, wiping away some of the blood while he had a moment. Almost in the clear, I just gotta-- Murphy took in a deep breath, feet pounding towards the corner of the building. ”Just gotta get out of here,” he mumbled, blood dripping down his temple and cheek from the cuts to his face. ”Clocktower’s close…” He approached and began to pass the alleyway, hood loose behind his head from the vigorous activity.

And then a powerful arm swung out around the corner, and the pommel of a saber struck Murphy right in the throat as Captain Mitchell Tarr tackled him to the ground.

He braced one hand on Murphy’s chest, blade at the assassin’s throat, and then… paused for several long seconds, staring at the man’s bloodied face. “You and me,” he murmured at last, his voice a raspy growl, chest still heaving from the mad chase he’d been led, “Are gonna have a long talk.”

Amelia bit her lip as Tibarn responded to the revelation of Wallace's death. "...Yeah. We lost Wallace." She closed her eyes for a moment, then stared resolutely ahead, even as her face paled slightly. "We all had our guards down, and we were taken off guard. He defended me from a surprise attack, went to fend off whoever had arrived, and... he was dead after the explosion." Amelia's hands had begun to tremble, but it ceased when Tibarn put his arms around her. The hug was more than enough to get her to fall quiet, leaning gratefully into his broad chest. She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to remember the feeling. Maybe later, that comfort and illusion of safety would be useful.

"We are... losing a lot of good men here. We need to pull out of Pentheus so we can regroup with the main army. Come on."

Amelia bit back a sigh and nodded. "I mean, we haven't finished checking the entire city, but-- but we're dropping like flies here. We can't keep going like this. Pulling out is-- it's probably the better idea." She looked nervously after him as he flew ahead of them, then gripped her lance in both hands. Gotta be stronger than this. You can do this. It's going to be fine. She looked back at the others behind her. "You heard him! Let's go!" she called back loudly, managing a wry smile. "Let's not have anyone else get hurt now, okay?"

"I'll make sure Vaida will get the information from him." Isadora noted before she placed her fingers against her chin, thinking. "Come to think of it, perhaps I should make a note to Lord Zeon if he can use him for that."

As the Dame Knight wrote down her letters, one of the surviving soldiers came to her to inform about what to do with the unconscious large man. It took a moment for the paladin to remember about the mohawk man. She had to admit, it was quite weird to see the guy talked about extreme and somewhat. And as much as she wanted to forget and leave the embarrassing man, she knew this place was not safe for him to leave. After all, it was unknown how many bombs were planted in Pentheus as well as how many would explode. So she told the soldier to take the Dude with the thief as prisoners.

Once finished the note, she handed it to Kieran and had the two cavaliers to travel with him to Eyris, carrying both prisoners with them. As they left, Isadora headed off to where Tibarn, Amelia, and the rest were. But when she reached them, the news of Wallace reached her ears. Eyes widened as she covered her mouth. Grief overwhelmed her as tears started to build up.

"What? Wallace... is dead? ... I... don't believe it."

It couldn't be. Wallace was a tough man such as Sir Marcus. There was no way a veteran knight could be killed. That man had been through worst battles than this. It was impossible.

Although the paladin knew well about the Caelin Knight, she also knew what Wallace would say to her. Wallace would tell her there was no time to cry for the dead when there was a war going on. They would have to be strong and continue moving to end the war so more people wouldn't die. In addition, she knew she shouldn't feel sad about Wallace's death. Even though the Caelin General was dead, he died heroically. After all, he did defend Amelia and tried his best to protect his comrade as he could. Hopefully, once this battle was over, they should hold a proper funeral for him. Surely, he would be honored for what he had done.

Wiping her tears away from her eyes, she looked up at Amelia. "Amelia, did you and the others recover Wallace's body? ... I think he would like to be buried in Eyris where his friends can visit him than be left forgotten in this disaster."

When she heard Tibarn suggested about leaving Pentheus, along with Amelia agreeing with it, Isadora remained quiet. So it seemed that they had their mission to retake Pentheus. However, they were right. They were losing their men, including Wallace. It would be best to get out of the deathtrap with many surviving people as they could. It wasn't worth it if people kept dying.

Turning her attention to Calill, Isadora offered her a ride. Whether Calill wished to take the offer or not, it was up to her. But for now, they had to escape as fast as possible before they too would blow up like Wallace.

As Tibarn and Sunil approached Amelia and the others, Rajin followed them. Now that the Hawk King mentioned about the cat who thought herself as a wolf (*snickers*), he thought he should take a good look at her.

As he approached, he could see that she looked like a scraggy cat than a wild cat. He had met very few wolf laguz in Learania before, but none looked scraggy like her. He wasn't sure if that cat was being serious or not.

"Hey, is it just me or does she have too many catnip to think she's a wolf?" Rajin whispered to Sunil. Although he was holding his snicker, his laughing smile was lingered on his lips. Oh... It would be funny to tease the cat still thought she was a wolf. Oh, that would be a tease.

Rajin's ears twitched when he heard Amelia's shout about leaving. Well, it was about damn time they were about to leave. Sure, the mission was a failure when this city was blowing up. But it was better safe to escape than being sorry for staying and battle. After all, tomorrow was another day and another day meant you lived and survived. And when being alive meant that there was another chance to do what you needed to do.

Heading to the direction where everyone was leaving, Rajin placed his hand on Sunil. "Come on, buddy. We better leave. We'll take this city another time. And next time, we'll be sure to take it back. Right now, we gotta save our asses before we ended up like balded man back there."

Sunil had followed after Tibarn and regrouped with Amelia and company. It wasn't hard to notice a new Laguz in their ranks: that female Cat Laguz who was raised by Wolves and therefore believed herself to be one. He had mixed feelings about this one. For starters, no matter how much she would deny it, she was a Cat Laguz. However, he could see traces of Hatarian culture that could easily explain why she believed herself to be a Wolf. There was that 'Wild' look she had with her fur completely unrestrained and untidy. It was a surprisingly common look back in the desert, even though with fur that dark it would have been rather unbearable.

Ah, how he missed that land and its people who had taken care of him in his hour of need.

Appearance-wise, she probably lived with those Wolves of Hatari all her life. As much as he wanted to talk to her and learn about what became of that land after he left, there was definitely a better time to ask about it.

The blue cat chuckled at Rajin's small joke. He would have replied back, but then his ears twitched at a particular phrase that had caught his attention, spoken from the small general to the large bird.

"We've lost Wallace now, too."

Wait, Mr. Baldy Wall...died? No...That man was like an impenetrable fortress. If someone as strong as him perished, then... he thought as his nails dug into his palm after he tightened his fists. The cat was oblivious to the sharp pain in his hands as he drew blood, as only a single thought occupied his mind.

I failed...What was the point of fighting so hard if people I knew still died?

He looked up with a blank expression on his face when he heard that they were going to pull out of Pentheus. Several of the others seemed to agree with them. After a few moments to process that information, his confusion became anger. They had invested so many resources in retaking the city, with so much of their allies' blood spilled. They had fought so hard and got so far, but in the end...None of that mattered. Not when they decided to leave without finishing the job.

A single memory flashed in the Cat's mind. A bitter feeling formed within him as he trembled with rage.

"You...cowards.

There isn't that much left of the city to take back, is there?

We fought this hard because we wanted to take back what's ours, didn't we?

So why...

[WHY ARE WE RUNNING AWAY?!]

[IN THE TIME IT WOULD TAKE US TO REGROUP WITH THE MAIN ARMY, THE BANDITS WOULD BE ABLE TO PLANT BOMBS ALL OVER TOWN AGAIN!]

[IT WOULD BE A REPEAT OF THIS BATTLE, AND WE WOULD ONLY SUFFER MORE CASUALTIES, IF NOT WORSE ONES!]

[DO YOU WANT EVERYONE'S DEATHS TO BE IN VAIN?!]

[IF WE LEAVE NOW, THAT MEANS WE LOST!]

[ALL THOSE LIVES WOULD HAVE AMOUNTED TO NOTHING!]

[WE ALL STILL BELIEVE IN YOU!]

[TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND FINISH THE JOB!"]

Not only was he nearly yelling at Tibarn and Amelia, but at some point changed tongues so the rest of his anger was in the Ancient Language.

As Bill was choked into unconsciousness, a shadow at the back of the room frowned. "Not the one..." it thought to itself. The hawk king and his comrades started to leave, as the red knight who'd discovered the bomb nodded and hefted the maker onto his shoulder following after.

The shade slipped out the back door, moving with unnatural quietness and speed to the alley beside the building. Unseen and unheard, he listened in on the Learanians discussion and took note of everyone's position while quickly checking his surroundings. His head scanned as he spied, never once stopping, sneaking peeks at the group but never letting his gaze linger.

Amelia arrived. The shadow had originally thought about her being the one... but now he'd decided against it. Some of her actions had proved why she'd been given command. At the end of the day it was all about results and she'd succeeded in only preventing about a quarter of the bombs from going off. Like the hawk, she was dangerous. It was clear her blood was up and what was needed was a cool head.

Isadora had been his next choice, but at the moment she was completely unapproachable with Calill so close, despite the racket that cat was making.

That only left one person.

The shadow rippled in silence and vanished.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He found his target easily enough; Alex and his squad were moving with the group in order to regroup at the town centre. The captain appeared lost in thought, the death of a comrade was always hard to take, after all. Tyce had witnessed Murphy do the deed. What Tyce didn't understand was why; he'd given no order for anyone's assassination. For further complication, the boy had been pursued, though he was confident that the assassin could escape on his own. Regardless, he'd placed a shadow on them with the orders to follow them and take care of Murphy, if the need arose. Otherwise, the boy had made his bed and was now going to have to lie in it. Murphy didn’t belong to him anymore, after all, but as a former part of the guild, he knew the risks.

The shadow slipped off the roof he'd been observing his target from, landing near Alex in an alleyway. He scraped his foot across the cobblestone, so that the Captain would be aware of him. The Sniper proved to be worthy of his position, only his sharp eyes picked out the subtle movment of black on black as the shadow wheeled and rushed down the alley away from him.

"My men! With me! Everyone else keep moving! This could be a trap!" He ordered before darting down the alley after the fleeing figure. The figure burst out into the next street, featurless in it's black cloak with Alex gaining on him. Rather then turn onto the deserted street he kept going, into another dark alley. The Captain was managing to keep pace, dashing into the alley directly behind him, fingertips almost able to brush the cloak... and then suddenly there was only a thick blackness in front of him. "... Wha--- URK!" Alex choked out as someone standing in the doorway he'd just passed grabbed him from behind and threw him through it onto the floor of the building inside, just as the Captains men thundered into the alley way and past the doorway, completely unaware of it's existance.

The figure of the person who grabbed him stood in the shade of the doorway, reaching out to pull a dagger that was lodged in the door free. Alex's men were still well in earshot if the Sniper decided to call for help so Tyce needed to make this quick

"Captain. This fight is done; you have all lost. The stalemate of this war is over. While your troops are in chaos, Sentria's might approaches, with the Serpent Fang at the helm. Stay put if you wish, but my people aren't sticking around. Use this information as you see fit. Until next time, Captain." Regardless of Alex's actions, Tyce had spoken quickly and softly, with nothing left to say the doorway suddenly turned the same inky blackness as earlier and when it cleared Tyce was gone.

Tibarn stared at Sunil as the cat exploded, slipping from the common beorc tongue into the eldritch Ancient Language, and felt his fist tightening as the feline continued. His wings quivered, teeth gritted as he roared back suddenly, the subtle lilt of the language, incomprehensible to any beorcs present, lost entirely in the Hawk King's rage. He was gesturing wildly, but the only recognizable word any present beorc could have possibly made out was "Gerlach". It came up a few times, as Tibarn went increasingly read in the face, and then fell silent, breathing heavily, wings twitching with each deep inhalation.

"... Sorry," he finally said after a pregnant pause. "We're not... abandoning the city. But we need to retreat, regroup, and get a better idea of the situation before we come back in. I'm not going to lose anyone else today if I can help it." He closed his eyes. "I'd rather lose the city than any of you. Group up and pull out. That's an order," he finished.

"Yeh, about that!" The voice came from the roof of a nearby building, where a bedraggled pirate captain was clutching a wounded left arm in his hand, grinning. "You leave the city to me an' my men," he called down. "I got it on good word that the remainin' bombs won't be goin' off. We can clean up the streets, don't you worry. I'm gonna signal 'em back into port and we'll mop up what's left," he coughed, climbing down surprisingly swiftly and nimbly given his left arm was bleeding rather badly. "Just too bad the Shadow Guild b*****d I caught got away." He sighed, glancing at Ewan meaningfully. Looking down at his own arm. Looking meaningfully at Ewan again.

"Yeah, I get it. I'm a handsome individual, but you need to keep your pegleg in your pants, Shore Leave." Ewan offered with a small chuckle, getting the drift of what the ol' scallywag was trying to convey. "At this rate, I might as well just take my vows and devote myself as a man of the cloth!" Silence...And then a sharp snort from the sage, who was currently mending up the poor lad's busted up arm. "At the very least, you do almost as good work as I do. Glad to have you on our side of the ocean, and not at the tip of your sword."

Yeah, that's it...Just try to keep the jokes cracking. People need that right now, especially you, kid. Tuck away that stupid festering feeling inside of you, there's a job to do. This is some good news, right? Sunil, from before, Amelia, Tibarn, everyone...They had all known the people who were hurt, who were lost, far more than you. You really don't have room to talk...

So just keep trying to smile.

The paladin took a step back as the blue cat, Sunil wasn't it, yelled in some strange language. She didn't like how the cat called themselves cowards. Sure, they were retreating from Pentheus. However, didn't the cat saw what was going on? With bombs exploding in the city and many of their soldiers and perhaps few civilians killed from the explosion? She wasn't sure how many enemies had died from the explosion, but she could guess that it was smaller than what their army came. After all, how would they able to be unseen in the city as well as blowing it up?

Isadora watched as the cat yelled at Tibarn. She wasn't sure what the cat was saying. However, from what he said earlier before switching into a different language, she could take a guess what it may be about.

Once the blue cat finished yelling, it was Tibarn's turn to yell. And just like Sunil, he too was yelling in a different language. She wasn't sure what he was yelling. She had never heard that language before.

When the Hawk King finished yelling, everything got quiet. She wasn't sure if she should say something or not. She could say, but she wasn't sure what the two laguz were telling. So she waited quietly until Tibarn responded.

She could see that Tibarn was tensed from what Sunil was shouting, but it looked like he was trying to control his temper. The Hawk King spoke in soft, but strong tone. It was not a yell. There was no anguish or upset in his voice. Although there was no hope in his words, there was a hint of determination of keeping everyone alive as well as the realization of the current situation before it changed into the words of order.

With that said and done, Isadora looked at Sunil. Did the cat understand what situation they were in? Would the cat followed Tibarn's order or dare to risk his life and maybe theirs to retake the city? She hoped it wasn't the latter. Giving the cat a look of pity and concern, the Dame Knight turned around to mounted on her horse. They needed to get out of the city if they needed to survive.

But before they could go, Tarr appeared. This surprised the paladin. When did the pirate come from? She didn't know that the Learanian pirate still lingered around the last time she checked the port.

When the Learanian pirate finished, the Dame Knight nodded. "That's good of you to help us. Just be careful around here. We don't want to lose this city to the invaders."

She then turned her attention to Tibarn and Amelia, "Well, shall we get going? I don't know how much time we have before we may lose ours."

What the ********? What the ******** was wrong with Sunil?

Rajin stared in bewilder as the blue cat began to throw a hiss fit. He wasn't sure what Sunil was shouting when he spoke in a different language. Hell, he didn't know he could speak a different language. But whatever the cat was saying, the way he behaved looked like someone just spoiled his milk.

When the cat finished huffing his fur and everyone remained quiet, the tiger slowly spoke. "Hey man... Are you okay?"

But before he could get the cat's answer, Tibarn shout back in the same language Sunil yelled. Damnit! How the hell was he to know what they were talking about? They made it looked like they're parents who didn't want the children to hear what they were saying.

After the old man finished yelling, things got quiet. The tiger wasn't sure what to do. He had no clue what they were yelling. But it sure annoyed him.

Just then, Tibarn spoke. It wasn't a rage outburst like he did earlier. It was a short, simple, and calm statement. So was that what that outburst was about? That Sunil thought they were going to abandon the city? Although he wasn't sure how much damage did the city take, it was hard to tell if there was any enough for the city to stand. However, he was not the high commander to say so. Whatever they decided to do with the city, it was up to them. Right now, it seemed the majority agreed about retreating the city.

When the high commanders were focused on the blond man who came in, Rajin turned his attention to Sunil. He placed his hand on the blue cat's shoulder, giving him a reassurance. "Hey, I don't know what's gotten your whiskers all tied up, but the old bird is right. We can't lose anyone we know in this deathtrap. We'll be dead for sure if we stick here too long. We'll get the city back another time. But right now, we need to get out of here and recover. Looking at you, you look exhausted."

But whether it was from the battle or the argument, he wasn't sure. However, the cat sure needed some rest. The tiger gave a cat a small squeeze on the shoulder before letting go and nodded his head toward the group. "C'mon, I'm sure they may have some milk and dried fishsticks for you to eat. And no worry, if there are bandits linger around, I bet we can smell them out and dispose them before they can."

Amelia was already starting to move back towards Tibarn, intent on discussing further plans for Pentheus, when she heard Sunil's shout ringing in the dead air. She turned to face him, eyes wide. "Wh-- That-- That was an order, Sunil, and I don't--" she began to interrupt, voice rising, until his voice changed. Booming instead of indignant, speaking in tongues she didn't understand, Sunil's words stopped Amelia dead in her tracks.

Tibarn was shouting back at Sunil, matching his language and leaving Amelia in the dust. She couldn't understand a word he said outside of names, and every time he mentioned Gerlach, Amelia flinched, eyes closing briefly. She couldn't imagine what had happened outside the city, fighting those that had fled.

"I couldn't have said it better myself. Glad you did." Amelia moved over to Tibarn and put a hand on his arm, trying to steady him again. "Isadora's right, as well. We should move now, while we have a moment of peace." She glanced at Tibarn meaningfully before turning her attention to Tarr, keeping her hand against the hawk. "I'll trust you with that, Tarr. You find us when you're done, if you can. We can talk business or get things more sociable when we aren't liable to be attacked again and your arm isn't filleted open, got it?" She managed a rueful little smile before looking up at Tibarn. "Now, then. Shall we...?"

Sunil listened to the Hawk King as he yelled back in the eldritch tongue. As much as he hated to admit it, the bird was right. Trying to make up what he failed to do in the past should not involve anyone else. Just him. But what could one lone cat do against who knew how many more bandits and assassins were left in the city? They didn't just lose Wallace. Gerlach and countless other soldiers, Beorc and Laguz alike, had perished both in this town and in the land outside. They would need time to properly tend to the deceased and determine how many lives were lost just from this battle.

The cat exhaled as he forcibly attempted to calm himself down. That last outburst had stirred his blood just enough that he could tell that he was starting to lose himself. He was thankful for the pause, as that gave himself enough time to regain his composure.

"I should be the one apologizing." the cat said softly. "Sorry, everyone. You're right, Generals Tibarn and Amelia. Let's get out of here..."

Sunil didn't have the energy to shrug off Rajin's hand when the tiger placed it on his shoulder and merely nodded at his comment. As the others spoke to the pirate, Sunil replied to Rajin. "Yeah... it's been a while since I've had to run all over town and fight at the same time. We aren't missing anyone, are we? Someone do a headcount or something..."

"Captain. This fight is done; you have all lost. The stalemate of this war is over. While your troops are in chaos, Sentria's might approaches, with the Serpent Fang at the helm. Stay put if you wish, but my people aren't sticking around. Use this information as you see fit. Until next time, Captain."

By the time Alex took in the whole message, the mysterious man who relayed the message to him was gone in an instant. After a couple blinks, he slowly got back onto his feet and dusted off the dirt. He called out to his men and told him that he was safe. The captain nodded back to his men and told them, "This area is clear, continue to head back towards rendezvous." They nodded and started to head back out of the alley way. Alex took one more glance into the empty area before he quickly followed them.

"How much should I really trust those words,"

He didn't know who that mysterious man was, but at the same time the message seemed crucial enough to keep to himself. Alex decided that once he met up with any of the generals he would relay the message as a precaution. If this message was true, then things could get more ugly. In any case, it was best to give them the message as soon as possible.

Quickly moving past soldiers at a slower pace, Alex quickly made his way towards the front area of the moving army where general Amelia, Tibarn, and Isadora most likely were at.

Eventually Alex caught up to them. It seems they were standing still talking about something, but were about to start moving again. "Wait!" he called out to them hopefully catching their attention. Alex let out a small sigh of relief as he sees that they noticed his call.

He soon reached where they were standing and stopped for take a little breather for a moment. "I got a message which I felt like I should relay to you guys," he told them as he went through his memory to remember what the message exactly was. He closed his eyes and tried to recall the message word for word. He then slowly retold the message to them saying,

"Captain. This fight is done; you have all lost. The stalemate of this war is over. While your troops are in chaos, Sentria's might approaches, with the Serpent Fang at the helm. Stay put if you wish, but my people aren't sticking around. Use this information as you see fit. Until next time, Captain."

When he finished relaying the message, he opened his eyes. "Before asking, I didn't get a good look at who the message came from, he disappeared as soon as the message was relayed to me." he added. "Personally I don't know how trust worthy this message is, but this could be a premonition to some ugly things. It's better safe than sorry."
