Taking her brooch from the bag, she laid it carefully onto the bag which was draped across her lap. Her ankles crossed, Mei looked down at her gems and her silver wire brooch. Eyeing it carefully as she tried to decide exactly where to place the gems.

A few moments passed before she finally decided and started to work the gems into place. Wiggling them back and forth as she went to make sure that they were stable and wouldn't fall out too easily. It was a bit tricky at first but as the ghoul went along she started to feel more and more confident in her abilities.

Finally, she was satisfied with what she had created.

She held it up slightly, looking it over to make sure there weren't any stray wires sticking out that might poke one when wearing it. Mei smiled and placed the brooch back into her lap carefully. A very precious creation to her and if she messed it up now she might've burst into tears.

Since no one (mainly a vampire who resembled a walking cinnamon stick) was hassling her today, Hel got into a rather good work groove as she waited to hear a reply from Ace.

In addition to using the extra bits of wire they were given, Hel ended up incorporating the swirl ends of her ring into securing the gem as well. She liked the idea of closing off the ring in a sense, and anything to help keep the gem attached was most welcome. Since it seemed like they wouldn’t be able to use any welding tools, she needed all the reinforcement she could get. Hel stared at the ring in her palm silently for a long moment, and then looked up at the instructor. I’d be good to get more input, right? Hel wanted to make sure this was as good as it could be…

The valkyrie stood, and looked down at Ace and Mitsu. “I shall return shortly.” She then made her way over to Ylaria. “…Ah…excuse me.” She showed her the ring in her palm. “…Would you happen to have any criticism for this? I want it to be as sturdy as possible.”

Draven soaked up the lecture with quiet attentiveness. Properties and powers, and so many of them. As the box made its rounds and Draven waited for his turn, he contemplated. What gems should he get? Did he want strength? Of course. Was healing important? Most certainly. What about protection? Being a demon, that was always a useful. Temperance? Devotion? Surely those had their uses. Draven tossed the possibilities around in his head, but soon enough, it was his turn to pick gems.

Looking into the box, the raven mocker was faced with a tough choice. Everything was shiny. He kind of wanted them all. But, he had to choose. Just a few...

Glancing at his copper ring, Draven decided he might have to settle for one gem. It was a ring, after all. Not too much room on it. So, reaching into the box, Draven plucked out a small emerald and eye it carefully. He quite liked green, and this was a lovely shade. The gem was beautifully cut, and caught the light beautifully. He quite liked it. So, he kept it, and passed the box on.

Next, he had to attach the lovely gem to the not as lovely ring. Luckily, a bit of wire had been added to his kit. He did want to make certain his gem was secure. Picking up the pliers, Draven fiddled with the ring and the extra wire. Twisting, bending, pushing...the procedure was actually a bit more delicate than making the ring. But, in the end, Draven had what he felt was a secure holder for his emerald.

After placing the emerald in the not-pretty-at-all socket, Draven held the ring out at arms length to give it a look. "Not too bad," he might have been trying to convince himself. Still, he brought the ring back in close, and then fiddled with it a bit more, making sure the emerald was as secure as he could make it.

Luidaeg was fascinated to learn the magical properties of the different gems. He wondered what sorts of properties gems other than the five mentioned might hold. Did pearls counted as gems, or were they too organic?

When the box of gems reached him, he gently stirred them with one finger to see what his options were while he debated. He loved them all, but didn't want to be greedy. His bracelet had two good spots for gems already incorporated into, so he decided to just take two. Part of him wanted to go with his favored blues and greens, and take a sapphire and an emerald. With the copper wire, however, he thought ruby and diamond might look the best. However, this class was supposed to be about the properties of the gems, as well as their aesthetic value, and for that he rather favored sapphire, to strengthen both the bracelet and himself, and diamond for protection. Hmm, that was two votes for sapphire and two for diamond, sounds like clear winners to him!
He sorted through the gems a little more, finding a rather impressive trillion-cut sapphire as big as his thumb nail in a beautiful deep blue, and a round-cut diamond almost the size of his pinky nail that he thought caught the light very nicely, throwing back rainbows through its facets. Pleased with his choices, he passed the box carefully to the next student.

The necklace seemed elegant to Essa, not too chuncky like she had seen in places around Amityville. She liked how the stones looked with the gold wire she used, and it was easy to shape the wire around them since its so soft. Essa hopes that they get to keep them afterwards, it might not be much but she loved it. She looked round at others creations, some looked wellcrafted like a nice ring someone was showing the teacher making Essa wonder whether she should ask if the necklace was alright. There was also a funky looking brooch made of silver wire, again looking well crafted, getting Essa slightly worred about her piece. She didnt want to change the stones now, and she was now glad that their werent any big stones for the hole she created for the day before because she realised that it would be too heavy for the necklace and could possibly fall apart. The small stones were very light and worked well.

He worked on the ring for just a few more moments, but there was only so much he could do. Feeling that his gem was finally secure, Draven sat back and eyed his handiwork again. It was a bit thin, plain, and certainly not much like the picture that had been in his instructions. Any professional would likely have scrapped it. But Draven found himself rather proud of his creation.

It was shiny, which was something he always liked. The emerald was pretty, and just his color of green. But most of all, he had made it. All by himself. As far as he was concerned, it wasn't bad for his first attempt of jewelry making.

Gems in hand, he stared working them into the spots he had left for them. The diamond was tricky, due to it's smaller size, but he carefully twined the wire around and over it in a way that he felt would be secure without obscuring it too much. That done, he settled the sapphire into its spot and having a much easier time with the larger stone. When both were secured to his satisfaction, and the wire was back in a pleasingly natural shape, Luidaeg sat back with a pleased sigh, stretching his slightly cramping fingers.

Finding he had some free time on his hands, Luidaeg thought he'd ask the instructor something he'd been wondering about. His favorite gem was the opal; especially the black, dark blue, and deep red varieties; for the sheer brilliance of color it offered. As such, he was curious what sort of properties, if any, such a changeable gem might possess. He politely raised his hand and waited to be acknowledged.

Having decided to save his training for after class, West was in a much better mood when he entered the room on the second day. He plopped down on the stone seat next to Ev, and when the box of gems found its way to him, he chose a small ruby and emerald, along with a slightly larger diamond. It was debatable as to whether or not he had been listening to the lecture.

Reiko bent part of the gold into an elegant piece that she felt would be an appropriate decoration to the necklace, and attached the chain she had created at each end before storing it away.

The next day, when she returned, she picked up her necklace and was surprised to hear that they would be adding jewels. Well, she was glad she had done that bit of decoration, it would be a perfect setting! She picked up three small diamonds, the gem of protection, because surely that would be needed in the days to come!

Umi walked back inside the classroom the next day and took a seat. She hoped todays lesson wouldn't be so time consuming as yesterdays was. Getting back her pouch with her bracelet in it she read the instructions for todays lesson.

Kettil nodded in what seemed to be a sage manner toward the other boil, "I just gotta hope it holds together well," he said with a small shrug. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. It is quite plausible that it would just fall apart every five seconds after or sometime during the class.

...Please don't let it do that.

He chewed on his bottom lip a little and stared down at Endzela who just mildly peered back up at him as if silently telling him to chill out. The boil heaved a sigh and caught sight of Ev and gave her a small friendly wave.

((I rolled a 6 on the previous page and Tess is using 1 Diamond and 1 Sapphire.))

Taking the last bit of advice from their lecturer, Maritess went back to her seat to finish setting the gems on the hairpin.

Reiko worked alone today, focused fully on making sure she prepared the setting correctly. She carefully added the diamonds in three places she found aesthetically best. A slight smile crossed her face when she was finished. she wasn't much one for jewelry, outside her varied collection of hairpieces, but this? She would wear this. Assuming it held up, of course!

Taking out two gems Umi got to work on setting them in her bracelet. She had to think about where she wanted the Diamond and Sapphire to be on the bracelet and that took her newly on hour to decided on the perfect area.
