Max, tired of listening to the discussion Dante and Belle were having and tired from the long day he'd had, wandered out further onto the route. The sounds of his companions followed him without falling too far behind and he glanced over his shoulder to see that the two were trailing behind but still walking with him. After a few minutes of quick searching he found a spot that would do well as a campsite. It was just far enough off of the route that they could spread out a tent, sleeping bags, and had enough of a cleared area that they wouldn't have to worry about setting the route ablaze with a campfire if they could even make one. There weren't any trees this close to Blyse.
While his companions continued their talk, Max set about clearing the area of anything that might poke holes in equipment or just be uncomfortable to lay on. Finished with that small task he cordoned off an area for himself, cutting enough of the tall grass that surrounded the group down to use as added bedding to his sleeping bag and protection from the ground's cold. Dante was the one playing teacher so he could show the girl how to set up a tent and whatever else he deemed necessary knowledge but he was going to sleep. Seconds after settling into his sleeping bag Max was snoring like a chainsaw.

After a fair amount of tussling with the tent and two or three false starts, Dante and Belle finally managed to haul the canvas structure upright. "There we go," the man said, stepping back to admire their handiwork. He had to admit, it wasn't a particularly beautiful job, but it would keep Belle and her Pokemon out of the cold. Good thing the sun stayed out as long as it did, he thought privately. If it had gone down before they'd finished, Dante was sure that Belle would have simply given up and walked back to Blyse.
"You want to get a fire going?" Dante asked politely. It wouldn't be that necessary on a night like tonight, but they might be able to at least sit down and talk for a little while. If he was going to be traveling with her for a while, he assumed that they should get to know each other a little more.

To be honest, Belle had let Dante do most of the work for the tent. It was too fiddly, what with all the holes and the poles. She was pleased when it was done, though. The only problem was that they would have to take it down tomorrow and put it up again tomorrow night - why couldn't they just hire someone to do it for them? She shrugged, though, and turned back to Dante. "Where are you going to sleep?" She hadn't seen him with his own tent, which confused her. What, was he going to sleep in a tree? Oooh! He was a tree person! When he asked her if she wanted to start a fire, she nodded somewhat hesitantly. She had no idea how to do that, but she was pretty sure that involved logs and flames. "You would have to find something that could be easily burned without blowing away in the lightest breeze. You can't honestly expect to buy supplies like that when you're traveling. It would weigh you down."***** Not everyone can "hear" when Mewtwo's speaking telepathically as not everyone's sensitive to psychic phenomena. When he talks to someone personally a weak psionic link is formed between that person and himself. They'll "hear" him talking even if they don't know what he's saying. Over time it may turn into an actual telepathic connection that neither party involved will have complete control over at first. However this does NOT mean that EVERYONE he's spoken to will have this link and no, Joe Blow that just walked onto the scene WILL NOT know he's speaking right off the bat 9/10.

Belle whirled in a circle around upon hearing the voice of Miato echoing in her mind, trying to locate him. What her eyes landed on, though, (a white-haired, brown-eyed boy) promptly freaked her out. "Stranger danger! Straaangeeer daaangeeer!" She promptly bolted at Dante, leaping at him and pretty much tackling him to the ground. "Heeeelp!" Oh, Arceus, she was going to be killed in the woods on the first Route! Dante felt the wind leave his lungs as the girl tackled him in a bone-crushing hug. He almost toppled and fell, but fortunately the years he'd spent off of training hadn't totally abandoned him and he kept his feet. "Belle, Belle, calm down," he said, attempting to soothe the girl. "It's just my friend, Marcus. I invited him to come spend a little time with us on the Route." Privately, Dante thought it would be better if the girl knew that it was just Mewtwo, but the psycat would have to tell her himself. He'd know better than the Gym Leader whether or not she'd spoil the secret.
"Look, you stay here and get to know Marc. I'll see what I can do about wood." He gingerly pried the girl off of his body and moved off into the woods, staying within earshot in case there was any further trouble.

When her eyes were back on him he allowed his illusion to flicker just slightly to show off his natural purple eye color. Hopefully she would get the hint (subtlety didn't seem to be her strong suit) but if she didn't then he had other means of convincing her of who he was. "Unless you find a cliff on a windswept plain to fall over no one is going to kill you Belle," the cat allowed his plain, almost bored tone, to roll across his words. Belle reluctantly let the man go, trembling slightly as she looked back at 'Marcus', very confused. Where was Miato? She knew she'd heard him, she knew it. It was weird meeting a random guy under these conditions, too. She looked rather forlorn when Dante left, looking at him anxiously, switching being that and alarmed looks at Marcus. She blinked when she saw something seem to flicker, and she saw . . . purple eyes? Oh, no! He was possessed! She jumped again when she heard Miato's voice, looking around wildly, but seeing nothing. Ugh. Stupid ninjas. He was still deep asleep and unaware of anything going on around him. That was just fine with the psychic, who was making his way towards Dante and the panicking mind of Belle without haste. He caught up with the humans by easily following their minds. "Belle," he snapped without any anger, allowing his illusion to fall completely. "I'm in a disguise. Quit panicking."Hopefully seeing him as he normally was would calm the girl down. Dante had been gone for about twenty seconds before Belle came crashing through the dark towards him, screaming her head off. Dante sighed, dropping the few sticks he'd managed to recover and turning to find the girl. Apparently she was scared of Mewtwo's disguise, despite the fact that Dante had told her he was no one to be feared. "Belle!" Dante called out, hoping she'd hear him. "Over here!" He hadn't a flashlight to attract her attention with, but if worst came to worst he could always have Venezia locate her. Mewtwo, what happened? he asked the psycat mentally.

Belle didn't slow when she heard Miato's voice again, which only sent her into a bigger state of panic. She stumbled through the tall grass, blindly trying to find Dante. She heard him calling, and whirled around, desperate trying to locate him. "Daaanteee!" she squealed, trying to pick up the pace. Her eyes narrowed when she saw a figure ahead, bolting towards it. It was only about a metre away when she realised that the figure was, indeed, made of bark. She hit it head first, letting out a half-gasp, half-yelp as she did so. ~~~ Post 60! Level up! Dante heard Belle before he saw her. The scream's sudden cutoff sent chills down his spine - who knows what might have happened to her? - but then the girl groaned in pain and Dante figured she must have either tripped or run into something. He slowed his pace down, moving more deliberately to avoid falling into the same trap she did. "Oh, this is ridiculous," he muttered to himself, hand brushing his Pokeballs. There wasn't enough light for him to see by any more and he was done blundering about in the dark. In a second the familiar shape of Dahlia was there by his side, coiling about herself and crooning softly. "Can you find Belle?" Dante asked it. "She's a girl, about seventeen years old? I think she just tripped on something." The Dragonair made a soft reply, swinging her graceful head out to look at the surrounding area. Her eyesight was far better than Dante's and after only a short few seconds she made a noise indicating that she'd located the girl.
"Are you alright Belle?" Dante asked, kneeling down beside her. She didn't look TOO banged up, but it was hard to tell.

Even without his psychic powers guiding him to the human's minds he could still see what was going on in the dark. Belle slamming into a tree face-first had him snorting with laughter in a way most unbecoming of any cat. "She panicked when you decided that leaving her alone with what was a stranger in her eyes was a good idea. Max's snoring stopped Belle's panicky screams with the wall of sound they produced. The snores were even loud enough to damage Pokemon. However, that was merely the outside. On the inside of Max's mind things were much less peaceful. As the brain started converting memories from short term to long term, it experienced some hard to read memories. A small strand from exiting from the elevator to watching Marcus jump off the roof was not able to be transferred and went back into short term memory. This went unobserved by Max's sub-conscience which was happily dancing around a flurry of nervous impulses generating dreams. #6
