"Same here, Bodaway," Abaeze said, still tired from her sprint towards the male. She wanted to hunt today, but she knew Ayita wouldn't allow that, not in her current condition. "You got fatter." She pointed out, effectively changing the topic of conversation towards him. She was ready to bolt and hide in the cool caves of Pride Rock, but she wouldn't do that, not to Bodaway.

Bodaway had a bright look in those deep colored eyes. Now it was as if nothing had happened. Nothing bad had happened. The way it should have gone in the first place. That was now the past, so it was to be pushed aside. ALong with the many other things he had overcome. Still lingered on in occasion but didn't often. A twitch of that smile formed with a good laugh. Fatter? Did he truly get fatter? It was obvious he grew and doubled in size within a year. But gotten fatter? He highly doubted it. "I've been told I've gotten fluffier." Fully turned now he nudged her side. As if saying they should return to Pride Rock. Even if it was simply a few bit away. Just a couple of minutes. There was the feeling of eyes on him. He knew the stare. Ayita was watching them. He could tell. Nobody else would stare him down like that and make him shutter. Pulling it off as muscle spasms. "You, have gotten prettier."

"The fluff hides your fat, obviously." The lioness snorted, forcing herself from tensing up when the male bumped her with good intentions. She was already walking towards the Rock, feeling Ayita's sharp eyes on them. The lioness silently sighed to herself as she thought about what her head huntress thought of this scene. "Are you afraid of what Ayita will say seeing us? I bet she's thinking we've made up and are bonding again." She rolled her eyes at the thought of what Ayita would think or say. She didn't want to know, but she knew she'd find out eventually. It was fine if Ayita thought something was up between them, which nothing was, but she wanted to make it clear to Bodaway that nothing could happen between them. Nothing at all, and her words would surely send the message. "In your perspective, I have, but in mine and others' perspectives, I've stayed just the same. I'm unlikely to change" The dried grass of the savanna brushed against her pale pelt, helping her blend into the background.

It was only common sense that Bodaway wasn't going to win on this little playful arguement. Either way one way or another, the male was going to be considered fat to the lioness. Abaeze had a way with words and could twist them around. The golden giant could as well but often chose not to. Chose not to question much either on certain circumstances. "If you say so." Good humor and good spirits. Everything was back to normal. For the most part. The feelings of eyes was never wavering and he was starting to wonder just why the two of them were being stared at. Watched. "Not afraid of what she's thinking. Rather afraid of her in general." Now what was wrong with bonding again? By the sounds of it that was a problem. What it truly a problem? If so, why? Than it seemed Abaeze made it pretty clear. At first Bodaway didn't quite understand but thinking about it for a few seconds made it blunt. Keeping that cheerful face he simply laughed. "I've been gone for so long, of course you've changed. They may not see it because they've witnessed you change." Getting closer to the rocks that would lead up to the ledge, he sighed. "I wish I hadn't left.." Words he said under his breath. It was meant to have been a thought. Speaking mind striked again.

Abaeze rolling her shoulders, listening to the male's deep and distinct voice. He was always an honest lion, and he was very noble and innocent in his own way. It made Abaeze feel guilty to be the center of his attention. "If you hadn't left, then you'd never have seen your nephew, so stop complaining." The lioness said, leaping onto the rocks with ease despite her minor injuries. She would have to speak with Ayita soon to clear up any misconceptions about her and Bodaway. "Also, if you had not left, then Musa would have no one to grill for stories. Good luck." The lioness could not have left faster as the mud-colored cub came tumbling towards the great golden lion. She didn't hear his words, but she knew for sure that Musa was excited and determined to get a better story out of Bodaway. Smiling to herself, Abaeze thought of how much Musa had learned over the past few days, and it made her happy to see him so energetic. What she wasn't happy about was Ayita spying on her and Bodaway. The head huntress needed to keep her mind out of the mud-hole and back onto the golden grasses of the savanna. "You know, Ayita, you scared Bodaway pretty badly." The lioness said as she reached the huntress on one of the ledges.
Musa woke up right after Abaeze had left the den. He had, at first, searched for the golden lion so he could extract a better story from him, but he soon realized that he was out, and Abaeze was with him. He figured she'd want to apologize because she had really hurt Bodaway's feelings. She was probably cringing at having to apologize early. So he waited for the two lions to return to the Rock, playing with a maiden's tail until he heard the deep voice of Bodaway and the quieter voice of Abaeze. On his paws, the cub said hello to his sister as she parted with the warrior and began grilling the golden lion. "You're telling me a better story today, you know that, right? I'm not having another one of those that are awesome in the beginning, then horrible in the end. You're telling me and the other cubs some stories of your journey and your home." He glared at the male, as if daring him to oppose his words.

The giant gold male just had to laugh at himself. Bodaway could be and was an idiot sometimes he would admit. Flaws were meant to be had. Nothing was perfect. There were arguements against that simple statement. In the end it was true. If something was absolutely perfect, it would be too good to obtain and or simply know, see, etc. "You are right." And complaining would stop. Among other things since it was apparent it would be useless. Those thoughts however were to be pushed back so far, it wouldn't be a problem. THe problem to face now was a little mud colored cub that would have plenty of questions wanting answered. And plenty of time to hear them. Great warning. "I sha'll need the luck." Hopping up the stones and hitting the top just a second or two ago, Bodaway was at least expecting a minute or two of freedom. Nope. Wasn't granted. He found himself confronted almost immediately. "Alright, alright." SHaking his head and smiling, he simply waited for the cub to lead the way. Glancing up at Abaeze's retreating form for a simple second.
From the height of placement Ayita was locaed that green gaze could hit just about anymore. The specific place however had originally been the bounding and running form of a good friend. Ayita typically wasn't one to keep eyes lingering for long however in this situation she felt the need to. Why would a recently injured lioness be a bit rushed to leave Pride Rock, knowing fully well the consequences, and go straight after a male. The head huntress was simply concerned and rather worried was her reason. Plausible and truthful. "Hm?" Abaeze had gone off after Bodaway, the golden giant was sort of hard not to see. That pelt of his made him shimmer in the light. Would be interesting to see an entire Pride of his color. Thoughts were a bit slow from then on as it was apparent the two were returning. Talking. Eyes watched body language rather than trying to read lips. Something about the way the giant gold warrior moved for a second or two made her question. Something had gone on between the two. Averting her gaze when they appeared atop the stone. She was greeted with a statement rather than a normal hello. Laughing she spoke. "Forgive me for I was not aware I had. Now, why would a male such as him be scared of I? Hm?" Rhetorical question with a joking tone, towards the end.

Musa looked at Bodaway for a moment, wondering what he was staring at earlier, but it didn't matter right now anyways. "All right, so follow me." Tugging at the male's mane with his jaws, the cub tried to pull him in the direction of the other cubs, but he tried only after giving his mane a tug twice. Then the cub just ran off in the direction of the other cubs, calling out, "Bodaway's gonna tell us a story!" The others let out excited squeals of delight as they scrambled around and sat in a semi-circle. Musa took his place within their ranks and waited patiently for Bodaway.
Abaeze shook her head with a small chuckle. Ayita still had her sense of humor intact after last night's events. At least the lioness didn't worry about her friend, but she couldn't deviate from her current objective. "Let's see...hmm...maybe because you're bigger than them, and even more intimidating?" She sat down with a tired sigh and looked at the large, dark-furred lioness. "Anyways, how are you feeling? Last night you scared us when you fainted." She still suspected that Ayita may have been spying on her and Bodaway, but she wouldn't say that aloud without proof.

There was no flinch and or twitch of those lips at the pull of a thick coated mane. It didn't bother Bodaway at all. Being as the cub was only about the size of that large front paw. Maybe a bit bigger but not by much. For the age the furball was, he would soon double in size rather quickly. Always tended to happen. Couldn't be too sure. Truly didn't matter. Either way it appeared Bodaway was to be the plaything and story teller for a bunch of young cubs. Not a problem not a bother. Might be if it lasted truly too long. They would push every single word and memory from his mind. Grinned at the simple thought of it. "Ask questions and I sha'll answer with stories~" The deep voice bellowed out of his throat as he soon found himself outnumbered by cubs. Quite a few of them. This was going to be entertaining. Alread he was racking his brain for stories, paws quaking underneath him as he laid down apon stone. Front paws crossed over the other.
A nice little laugh came from the parted maw of Ayita. "I may be about their size. Though that does not mean I am or sha'll be more intimidating." That laugh came right back out of her mouth. A little bit of a good gesture as those green eyes flickered from Abaeze down to the golden beast now surrounded by cubs. Returning her attention to the fellow huntress, the head huntress silently listened to the statement. It had been a bit of a topic change and that wasn't a problem. Not a problem at all. "My body feels quite fine. Though my mind is a little worn from the events of yesterday." Good mood. Good mannered. All happy happy joy joy. Nothing to suspicious except the actions of the other day. Which hopefully were pushed aside in Abaeze's mind. If not. Ayita had her own sneaky little weapon. Her eye for body language. Oh yes. "Now my dearest friend. How are you?"

"Tell a story about when you first made a kill!" "No, about your family!" "How'd you get so big?" "Will you tell us about how you met Ayita and King Soyali?" The cubs all chattered at the same time, much to Musa's pride. They wanted answers to their questions/demands from the warrior. The cub wanted the story he told early in the morning retold because the golden lion rushed it in the end.
Abaeze sighed as Ayita turned the subject towards her. The lioness didn't want to talk about herself. It never really mattered, but she would satisfy her head huntress. "I'm tired and achy, but I got up anyways and apologized to that big idiot." She snorted at the thought of Bodaway. Lions like him were too soft and sensitive. If she had not apologized, he'd have let his mind run away with him and start making up things like how they were better off not knowing each other. Males could be stupid, especially the kind that had good looks and tiny brains. "You should stop sneaking glancing at him every now and then, Ayita. He and I are nothing, but friends." In honest truth, Abaeze only felt friendship for the male, though she was still mad at him. That didn't change even if she apologized. She was still mad at King Soyali as well, but, again, it would talk a few days to get over her anger.

"You should watch your words friend. That big idiot wasn't the only one with loose movement in the head." the sly look in those emerald eyes would surely be enough for any lion to sort of try and get a heads up on what was deep within that mind. Than again knowing Ayita what you thought and what happened were two quite different things. The head huntress wasn't one to keep up with how this body of her's expressed itself. Mind and body were two different things. Only connected by life itself. "You can not know what is in the future from your eyes. I, however, see something. Not large just yet. But a mere ant." Ayita just grinned with that calm face of her's. Closing her eyes with a short yawn. Setting her head on her paws. Reopening her eyes to set them on Abaeze. Wondering what her friend might be thinking.
Bodaway knew there was possibly a little bit of annoyance coming from little Musa. It was common sense that the cub would want the fantastic story from before finished. To let it across to the cub that it would eventually happened, he winked. Deep eyes staring right down at the mud ball. The cub was smart and would understand. From then on however he opened his jaws and spoke. Starting off with whatever he heard. So many questions. One was in there about his family. His size. Bodaway was quite surprised really. They were majorly curious which was a good thing for their age. "Beyond the forest at the far edge of the pridelands there is a vaste spread of water. Goes far beyond the vision of eyes. Water bitter and deep. So deep that even the best of swimmers can't fully reach the bottom. It roars like us lions on bad nights, crashing over the sands. At night the sky is so clear, it reflects of the constantly moving sea. When the sun sets it's so bright that even reflecting off the water will hurt your eyes. My family lives here. That gorgeous place where I was born." Bodaway continued to tell the other cubs about the history that supposedly told why his entire pride, like him, had the bright gold fur. And how to the north and south the other prides were deeper and lighter shades. "Along with our sun shaded pelts, our size is determined as well it seems but the style of the sun. The Northern pride with their deep shades are the ones that truly are monstrous in size. Legend of course. Now their current king is about the size of your Soyali. My father rivals the king. Though in muscle mass Cheveyo is far greater. The South are only slightly smaller. Not by far. The lioness are regularly about the size of the head huntress." He was working on adding a little bit of information in there that Musa didn't know. The gold giant was working on it. For now Bodaway was to wait for a few more questions. However since he had just also ended in explaining how Misae had wandered to them, and he had brought her back.

Musa was entranced by Bodaway's story more than he had been earlier. He could hardly imagine another lion as large as King Soyali. It was impossible. "Tell us more about the prides." "Yeah, tell us more about Cheveyo." "I wanna hear about the prey they hunt!" The cubs were all eager to hear more from the large lion. It was difficult for them to believe lionesses as big as Ayita existed as the norm in other prides. It seemed impossible to them.
"And sometimes your eyes deceive you, letting you see what you want to see." Abaeze said quietly, staring out at the savanna and the herds grazing on the grasses. The sun was out and hot, but it didn't deter the animals from eating or drinking. Life continued in its circle, from grass to prey to predator to grass again. It was the great circle of life. "I admit I had behaved wrongly, which is why I apologized today rather than in three days." She added, laying down with a tired sigh.

Break time was over and it was back to story telling. Things were not going to get easy. Bodaway would be held hostage for quite some time with how many questions they were asking. Some related to others though it was still a difficult one. "My father is the only son of a noble king from the north and the only daughter from my great grandparents. I knew my grandfather when I was about your age. He was old and crippled from many fights with our jungle cousins. Hakan was his name. It means fire. The essence of heat that grows larger and large. I was only half the size of his mighty paw. My father gained his size from him." Those deep red eyes held history. Knowledge that he was sharing with cubs that would probably never see the sight of the sea. His home. What they imagined was more than likely close. Their minds were greater than reality. "Cheveyo's fur is slightly darker in color than my own. His eyes far lighter. More of a blood red. The deep red from a fresh kill. While Soyali is kind and wise. My father is wild and free spirited. Isn't afraid of a challenge and would rather fight than speak. Seems foolish but many cower at the simple sight." It was easy to entertain these little fellas it seemed. Had he been this easy? "As large as the sea is and the overhanging cliffs and trees we called home, we are small. Our size only allows us to match where we thrive. Your head huntress would do perfectly fine with the huntress of my home pride. Fragile Misae had a hard time getting accustomed. But she managed by improvising. We don't stalk and get too close. We ambush and charge. My bright fur blinds prey that is meant to move quickly through trees. Long legged animals or short fat things that burry under trees." Lifting a paw he unsheathed his claws. Showing the hooked curve they had. Something a little different as well. Did more tearing damage. And could grasp easier. Obviously something that helped. And could be a reason why there was never violence between the three prides that called the beaches home.
"These eyes do not see what I wish. They see what is obvious. You should know this." Lifting an eyebrow a challenging stare was focused towards Abaeze. SOmething was odd. In feeling. It prickled at the back of the head huntress' mind. Ayita didn't like it. Eyes slightly narrowed keeping their gaze locked tight on the lighter shaded lioness. "If you had waited as usual damage could have occured." Finally removing her eyes they blinked for a mere second. Instantly looking out amongst the other lions. Dozing. Some of the maidens speaking since they were finally free of the cubs. Thanks to Bodaway it seemed. He was surrounded like a prey animal. It was entertaining. But the looks on the faces of the cubs was priceless. Had no true definition. "Damage that would have wrecked more than just your relationship." A laugh came from her. She had seen the look on little Musa's face. "My friend, take a glance and the little mud ball~" Bright and cheery mood.

Musa stood on his paws and approached the large lion. The other cubs whispered as he stopped in front of the massive warrior from the land where a lion can not see past the water. Lifting his chin, the mud-colored cub asked, "How did Misae find you, and why did you join our pride?" The cub wanted everyone to know the reason behind Bodaway joining their pride. It only made sense because why would a lion from such a great pride leave it for their pride? It didn't make any sense to the Pride lion cubs. "How many members were in your old pride?" The other cubs began to repeat his questions, a little hesitant at first, but soon their voices chorused with each other's support.
aAbaeze glanced at Musa's face and smiled. He was growing up to be a little instigator and leader of the cubs. He'd make a fine warrior when he was fully grown. "I'm glad Musa's enjoying himself. Bodaway will be a good influence on the cubs." The lioness knew Musa needed a father-figure, and she knew Ayita thought she and Bodaway would make a good couple, but the cream-colored lioness knew better. "The maidens seem to be enjoying their break from the cubs." She smirked humorlessly to her head huntress.

The head huntress couldn't have said it better herself. Indeed the foreign lion would be a good role model. Influence on the lives of the little one. As long as nothing was to go wrong they would all grow up to be fine pure and proud hunters and warriors. Nothing would go wrong. Not on Ayita's watch. For the most part. "Indeed they do. The little ones should hear more than simple gossip that are simple stories, no truth in them." A little bit of a hidden smack of the paw in there. Green eyes soon caught sight of another moving form. Ah, Misae. The shy and extremely cautious lioness that had returned after so long. It seem she had slept well. The bounce in her stride let that one be seen. "What is it that you are thinking? There seems to be something on that mind." Sharp eyes could read practically any expression. Something hunters and huntress were quite good at. A worthy opponent was Abaeze. Having the same skill.
Quickly talons sheathed when a cub approached. Bodaway did not wish to be viewed as if he was threatening a small cub. Even if it was Musa. The Maidens typically were quick to judge. Ask questions later sort of thing. Setting a paw back where it had been an eyebrow lifted at a very blunt and straight forward question. A good one indeed though. "Misae was out to prove that she was capable of being a huntress. First hunt alone. She had lost her way through the forest and had showed up onto our beaches. That cream sandy fur blending in with the sands. The only way we were able to distinguish her was those piercing eyes she has. I was the first to approach her as the other of my large pride were far too large and frightened her. Being as young as I was it only seemed to make sense. Having gotten lost among the trees and not knowing which way to turn, gave her fate to meet the prides of the sands." Deep orbs focused on the other cubs for a single second or another. Moving from each face to face. In the end locking on the darker furred Musa once more. "She was far too afraid to come with me to my pride which was highly understandable in her situation. Imagine. Wandering into a dark place with nothing but trees and strange plants where the leaves curl or spray out like flowers. Animals that wouldn't last long in the Pride Lands. Animals like us that wander through the jungle through trees with spots like a cheetah." Bodaway was going to run out of things to tell them. Well not really. It was simple. He wasn't all that old. "When Misae finally got use to my company, I persuaded her to please come and speak with my pride. My family. Just to see if there was anything it was we could do. My pride consists of fifteen huntress, ten guards since there is no need for warriors, the king, queen, my brother and I. Though my little nephew is a new addition along with my 'sister.'" He didn't count how many cubs. It would make this little group feel small. But might as well tell them. "Now, before I left, there was about ten cubs such as you. Many shades of gold but eyes all bright with playful youth." There was a bit of silence from the large male as he felt eyes towards them. Turning that massive head deep red hues noticed two sets of eyes peering their way. Bodaway simply grinned, head turning back towards the cubs.
"When I first got there I was so scared that I hid from them all. Even the most gentle faced of the lioness. The queen herself scared me half to death. After I couped and sucked it up I was brought to the realization that they weren't all giant large gold scary monsters with crescent moon shaped claws. But, kind warm sun gold giants." Misae slowly but surely moved around a rock. Having gotten down from the sleeping ledge Jawara had shown her. Already rested. Sleeping hard did that to you. "Cheveyo and Abedabun didn't know what to do with me. Eventually it was agreed that there was to be someone to escort me home. Bodaway here agreed to do it. Wanting to get away from thos familiar sandy beaches and the crash of the water." Not really used to talking this much just yet, the lioness took a break. Misae however loved talking to cubs. Still mentally being one herself. Innocent all the way around. "Going all the way through that jungle and back here took us quite a while. In the process of passing amongst the trees a bird has mentioned the pregnancy of Bodaway's nephew. The sun's heat didn't stop us from me getting back home. There was no way I could handle being gone so long from my family." A gentle laugh came from the lioness as she sat on her haunches.

Musa's eyes were wide as Bodaway told the story of how Misae came to his pride. It was an adventure he wanted to be on, but he was too young for such dangerous things. "But now you're back, Misae, and you've gotten braver, too." The mud-colored cub automatically assumed that since Misae had lived with Bodaway's pride for a year she'd be fearless when faced against a large opponent. "I bet you can take on those mangy hyenas." The cub tackled one of his playmates, pretending his friend was a hyena and he was a strong lion. The cub tried to roar, but he only got the usual cub roar. Didn't matter much because all the others were playing with each other and demanding to know more about Bodaway and Misae's journey home to the pridelands. Some wanted to know about the spotted cats, which were probably the leopards, that lived in the jungles of Bodaway's old home. Still, others wanted to know about the plants, and if they could eat a lion whole. Musa laughed with the rest of them as they played and asked the lion and lioness more questions.
Abaeze shrugged in response to Ayita's question. The lioness didn't know what she was thinking, or what was bothering her. It could simply be that she didn't want Ayita to continue thinking she and Bodaway had a future together, or it could be how Musa was growing up so fast before her eyes. The cream-colored lioness couldn't pinpoint her thoughts as she watched the cubs play and squeal, asking more questions now that Misae had joined the group. "I can only guess what's on my mind, my huntress." She chuckled as a cub pinned Musa to the ground, much to the mud-colored cub's annoyance. "They're much more lively now that Misae has joined them." She noted aloud, watching the young lions with great affection. Cubs were a joy to have around despite the pain in the rear they could be.
