The place that Raven would find himself though would be dark and dank. Instead of a forest full of trees or a hot and sandy desert, Raven would find himself standing before the opening of a huge cavern. A cavern so deep that one couldn't see the end, and it's here that things seemed to get quite strange ...as bits and pieces of the cavern wouldn't exactly seem to fit.

Materials and stones that couldn't possible exist at the same time jut out of from the sides ...as rocks like granite would stand beside rocks that seemed to be made of marble, and metals like steel would actually twist and turn into iron around the roof of the cavern.

Things that shouldn't be would easily be found here, but, within ...a pair of reddish eyes would watch him as it's antenna touches the earth. A Durant, seemed to be waiting just as patiently for the boy's entrances as it seemed almost to be laughing at the sight of the puny human.

::Jasmine blinked, looking to the woods around her... it was amazing to step one foot from one time to another, she looked back and there almost seemed a line drawn in the woods... and the woods she had left were no longer there to be admired::

::Now, she looked forward again, she was patched up as best she could, looking to the cat:: ...I'm taking it we won't likely find Oran Berries here, huh?

::Claudandas shrugged, again, who was he to tell? He looked around slowly... this was an area that many avoided for good reason... but he nodded to the first tree in sight::

::Jasmine looked at it, moving closer to run her hand over it...:: It would be tough work to find any amber here...

::But it was certainly worth a try, as she quickly looked to the Gligar draped around her shoulders now, half-asleep:: Lindbergh, it's time to hunt!

::The Gligar sighed, then groaned... then half heartedly stabbed the tree with her tail, before letting herself fall slack, she wasn't in the mood to do anything more just now::

::But before Claudandas could admonish the pokemon, Jasmine was reaching for the tree where it had been struck, peeling back a strip of bark to see at least if they had been rewarded...::

((Whee... lucky to see you before heading off ^^ ))

((Surprised that 20 didn't land me a boss fight, lol, but I'll call myself lucky there x3))

Rita stretched as she slipped from the boat, glancing around the island with a somewhat curious air. She couldn't have been that far behind someone: footprints in the ground were still fresh, as well as a pokemon's scratching.

Nodding, she decided that releasing Whitacre wasn't that bad of an idea. "Come on out Whitacre." She tossed the ball up, the squirtle appearing in a flash and landing next to her, looking around.

Whitacre looked around him in every direction, grinning, before he ran after his trainer, who had started to leave him. Naughty he may have been, he certainly didn't want to stay here... Besides, Rita would feed him when they finished here.

Though the footprints that Rita would see would oddly enough vanish as she walks from the sandy shores to the rocky area. She would find herself ...standing before a huge cavern. The cave extending miles and miles into the distance as it would seem that this is where adventure was to begin.

From one fire type to another ....a ponyta would walk the desert heat with no problems whatsoever. Her tail would twitch as she stops only once to take a look at the girl, and then she would kick up her hooves before she would start forward again.

It would seem that she wasn't going to be battling this time. Riku would get off a bit easier at this moment.

As she spotted the Ponyta, Riku looked around quickly. She was in a desert so there was no possible way to hide. The girl didn't have any usable pokemon either so she was wondering what she could do. Riku could always try fist fighting like with the Growlithe, but with each step in this forsaken desert, she grew weaker and weaker. The girl didn't know how much longer she would be able to survive. A sigh of relief escaped her as the Ponyta merely looked at her and then went on it's merry way. Hopefully she would make it out of this desert alive, as she trudged along stubbornly.

Throwing decency to the wind, Vanni struggled against the Tangela's vines. She had one hand protecting her neck while the other still clasp her parasol. Trying to keep her wits about her, she kicked out with her legs and slammed the parasol down on the vines. She had absolutely no intention of going quietly into that cold Tangela.

Phoebe hissed, tensing her legs. /Put my mistress DOWN!/ she snarled, white fangs gleaming in the darkness. With that, she leapt forward into the mess of vines. Her claws scrambled to get a good hold on the thick, blue ropes. If Vanni's goal was to get away, Phoebe's was to get close enough to land a hit.

Raven narrowed his eyes at the abrupt appearance of the cavern, the unnatural protrusions filling the boy's gaze swiftly. There was something off about this place...though he found himself unable to put his finger on precisely what that was. It seemed the only thing one could do was call it strange, the move on; and he would move on. Strange...unnatural...standing in defiance of logic it might be, but it stood between himself, and his goal...so he would proceed.

Scarcely more then three steps passed the mouth of the cavern, the youth abruptly stopped. Warily he scanned his surroundings. He knew not what, or from where, but he had the strong sense that something was watching him. This knowledge however proved quite useless without the latter piece in addition. Perhaps though, if he could not see his target then...

"Fable, sniff around. Something is out there and I want you to find it!" Raven called out, tossing his sole Pokemon's ball through the air and releasing it into the cavern alongside him.

The Charmander reacted the instant his feet touched the floor of the cave. His snout dipped toward the ground, then lifted to the air as he tried to catch the scent. He hadn't the faintest clue as to what he was looking for...best he simply try and catch the smell of something alive.

"Show yourself! If you have any confidence in your own strength, then cease hiding in the shadows and face me!" Raven barked out his challenge. Though he had grown to trust Fable, he wasn't about to leave this matter up to the odds of the fiery reptile locking onto the correct scent. If he was lucky, the unknown watcher would respond to his taunting.

Starter Pokemon: Charmander [M]
Name & Level: Fable, Lv 2
[Temperament] Quiet
Bio: Raven first met Fable during his time living on the streets, finding the fire-tailed reptile in one of hundreds of alleys he'd been in. Battered, beaten, and bloodied, it was clear the Charmander had seen it's fair share of battles...and lost every single one. He bit Raven only five seconds after their initial encounter. Fable had lost all trust in humanity. Raven was never fully aware of the details, but the Charmander's former trainer had been abusive. He'd placed him in battles with impossible odds, expecting him to combat and defeat opponent after opponent with little to no rest...and when he lost, it was his trainer whom would personally add to the reptiles injuries. Finally tired of wasting his time on "some worthless newt" his trainer had abandoned him in the dirtiest alleyway he could find and just left him there. The boy hadn't even given him a name...at least not one he cared to repeat.

For days after that first encounter Raven returned to the alley, usually meeting with the same result; yet still he kept coming, sometimes he even brought food. It was generally scraps most likely out of the garbage, but it was food none the less. One day the Charmander finally asked why the child kept returning...not with words of course, but with his eyes. The curiosity at the boy's actions were clear in the reptiles gaze. Raven had said he saw a fire in Fables eyes that day when they first met, the desire to become truly powerful. More time passed after that, but the only thing which mattered after that point was the outcome. Even without a Pokeball the Charmander decided to follow the boy from that day forward, even earning the name Fable in the process. Raven would speak of spending the reward money on new clothes and a bath, but what was consistently leave out was the purchase of a single Pokeball. There was no need. Even without it, Fable would follow his trainer to the depths of hell and back.

[1 Roll to counter them both!]

Moving rather nimbly despite it's short legs, the Tangela kicked off the forest floor and moved backward. The moment girl and Nidoran began to interfere with the capture, the Pokemon's vines began to twist and bend in unison. After only a moment Vanni would find herself heading straight for Phoebe; the Tangela was actually attempting to use the Trainer to bat away the Pokemon!

Though the bark would resist even the most fearsome of pulling, the bark wasn't even dented ...it didn't even yield to her first strike against it. It was a sound idea to have a pokemon attack it, but a move like poison sting which wasn't exactly the strongest of attacks wouldn't be able to even dent the bark. It needed a much stronger force, something that shatter and break things, and not something that merely pierces.

Though none of her pokemon had that ability, at least none that were with her .....as the bark would withstand the point of claws ....just like the point of a stinger. This might be one of those times where she needed to actually find help from the pokemon here. Or at the very least capture ....a new member, if she doesn't figure out some way to get past the tree's quite amazing defenses.

Through while the Ponyta was happy to simply leave ....a male sandshrew would glare at Riku instead. Eyes narrowed to slits, and with a growl in his muzzle ...he had been trail her every since the capture of the first sandshrew. And he hadn't been happy with her then, nor now as he decided that now was the time to end her battles ...she looked weak, exhausted, and seemed to him to be an easy catch to ....ummm....do away with.

That was the best thought that crossed his mind as he started to dig towards her.

Though maybe, he should bide his time just a bit more ...the next area would have stronger pokemon and perhaps he wouldn't have to lift a claw to finish her.

The movement of feet would soon be heard. He wasn't sure how the boy had figured out he was there, but if he was being searched for him there was no sense in hiding. Besides, he knew he could tear that Charmander apart easily ....as he runs down the wall and drops down upon the ground in front of them.

A big smirk on his face ....yes, he will like this battle very much. Afterall, he was hungry ....and he had found over the timespan of his life that ....lizards were the best in tastes, and humans ran second. The Durant wouldn't give time to recover as he would lunge forward ....as he went after Fable with his jaws open. His was going to try and snap his spine on the first blow with Vicegrip.

Victoria would arrive at the island and like many trainers before her ...she would set her feet squarely on the path. Though one thing she didn't do, she didn't rush ahead as she saw the footprints in the sand. Though the water washed away quite a few, the higher one with ...the less the water lapped and the more pronounce they became.

Though she couldn't help noticing the abrupt lost of 1/3 of those footprints. Two headed up ahead, and there was four that seemed to just disappear ....as if into thin air. That said quite a bit about this island, as she investigated the footsteps further.

No flying type had taken them, or else the prints would have been marred or even stretched by the attempt to struggle. No, they simply advanced forward, but the placement was different as she looks at the area up ahead, and realize that there was no point in waiting here for a weaken prey. The two footprints here were much fresher than the others, and she sighed openly.

She was too late, or too earlier.

She didn't know where that last thought had come from ....as she would look back at Aella.

"Recon." "I need you to catch the thermals from the ocean and rise as high upwards as possible." "I want you to know the lay out of the path ahead of us from as well as you can see before we advance forward."

"I will be counting on you to lead."

Victoria told Aella as the Emolga nods her head lightly, and the girl would have the pokemon curl upon her arm ...as she would give the most powerful of shoves that she was capable of. Sending the pokemon as high as she could get her, and letting the pokemon do the rest of the work as she caught floated a bit towards the sea and then rocketed straight up.

This would tell them what path they were traveling.

Riku felt like there were eyes on her, but she didn't even turn to look. Instead she gathered all her remaining energy and ran as fast as she could. She didn't think she could handle fighting another pokemon and tried to outrace whatever was behind of her. Hopefully she could make it and soon she could be out of this desert that was slowly driving her towards death.

::Jasmine's hands feebly tried to pull at the bark, but she didn't as much as crack a scrap off of it, she had to withdraw before she cut her own hand, she looked to Lindbergh who just lay there half-asleep on her shoulder... well, it made sense the Gligar wasn't hurt, she was certainly more studry than Jasmine was...::

::She looked from the Gligar instead to Claudandas:: Do you think you can-

::Her question was quickly answered itself as she observed the cat honing his claws, dragging them down the bark, but nary leaving a scratch upon them, purring satisfiedly as he could feel his claws being sharpened slowly::

...Never mind...

::The girl bit her lip and thought hard, looking at the sturdy tree before her, trying to work it out in her head, how they were going to approach this, she didn't even know if the tree HAD amber inside it, only Claudandas' general idea it should be here... and it was quickly becoming apparant they needed a more extreme approach to breaking open this bark, which would more than likely bring the whole tree down!::

::She placed her palm on the tree empathetically, almost in apology, she didn't want to cut it down... but it was without green or life, as long as no creature called it home, she had to extract any amber for her Professor::

::She looked at her companions, then the forest, she wasn't sure she wanted to meet any pokémon here that called this home..., but then a thought hit her, as she looked to Lindbergh:: Lindbergh?

::The bat-like creature stirred, growling warningly, but she just kept prodding, Lindbergh realised she truly would have no rest until the girl was sated as she struggled upward, meandering around onto Jasmine's shoulder and peering at the girl's face:: [You called, your 'majesty'?]

Can you use your Agility, speed round the trees, see if you can blow any of it off with your speed?
... ::She looked at the Gligar, who stared at her quizzically:: ...Your Agility attack?
::She was rewarded with nothing but a shrug, even the Purrloin looked up at the problem they seemed to be having, as Jasmine thought slowly, something was wrong here, she specifically rememebred that attack being instructed to her when she received the Gligar... and then a creeping thought loomed... Lindbergh had died... along with becoming weaker, had she also lost her second move?:: Lindbergh, use your second attack!

::The Gligar shrugged, she didn't know what any of this was about, when did she ever have Agility as a move? At the instruction, she complied, after all, if it would get the girl to shut up... her eyes glowed an eery white, there was a low rumble that made both human and feline turn to see the rocks in the area begin to collect, floating into the air, then falling, burying themselves into the ground almost as if being absorbed and hidden away::

::Satisfied, the Gligar crossed claws, tapping a talon indignantly:: [There, happy now?]

::Both Jasmine and Claudandas looked at each other in equal confusion, if such an expression existed for the girl, but they looked to the patch of ground, it looked hardly disturbed...::

::But the Purrloin loomed forward, sniffing and scratch the ground, until one second there... he snapped back, just in time to avoid the rocks that slammed out of the ground like a trap, crushing together the space he would have been!::

::He darted back skittishly behind Jasmine, while Lindbergh chuckled at the use of her Stealth Rock, the cat hissed his disapproval... and Jasmine...::

...I think I have an idea...

~~~~~~~~
::And so it was there, the forest lay in silence again, a quiet without human movement for now... but hidden pinned to the trunks of the trees, Jasmine, Lindbergh and Claudandas lay flat, only the pokémon peering out once or twice...::
::It would be hard for anyone to recognise it unless they saw it happen... when Jasmine had instructed Lindbergh to lay the trap::
::Stealth Rock was useless in single battles, it only worked when the pokémon entered the area it was laid...::
::By laying it beforehand, they'd catch the pokémon off guard, weaken it before attacking themselves... it was a fun idea... if it would work::
::But there was another reason... for where the stealth rock lay, Jasmine had been very specific, she pointed it out to Lindbergh and Lindbergh had for once complied without argument... for now the Stealth Rock lay partially surrounding the tree...::
::When a pokémon passed through, they'd spring the trap... and even if they ran, the rocks would smash up from the ground and crash together, if this didn't bring the tree tumbling down, nothing would!::
::And so... there they sat, Jasmine only scanning the forest, looking for anything else of aide to them... looking back to their trap...::
[So... what now?] ::Lindbergh sighed boredly, once more draped around her shoulders::
::As Jasmine patted the Gligar's head, barely avoiding fangs, she couldn't answer back, but if she could have, it was more than apparant... now. They waited.::
((Actually, there is nothing wrong with what you wrote at all))
The sands were pulled up and thrown behind him ....as he tries to follow after her. Though she wasn't walking anymore, and to throw up dirt behind her without thought was a dangerous situation. Thus, he lost a lot of ground trying to stay hidden as she ran, though the girl wouldn't notice that the change in the landscape before her.
The way that the desert gave way to much stronger ground. As the soil seemed to turn into rock ....as the air through hot before would cool, but there would still be no signs of water ....though there is a taste of it in the air. The sandshrew would find it too difficult to follow through the much harsher ground, and for the moment ...Riku would be safe as she entered the new area.
Fossil Mountain
Here, the past is buried and the future continues on. But deep in the heart of the mountain it is said, that nothing is every truly forgotten ....and there is rumors that the master of time lives here. Though as one makes the climb, the creatures that lives here find happiness in the coolness of the mountain and it's solid and rocky terrian. Thus, it's a mix of the two that call this place their home.
