Kagetsukiko Item name: ??? Item type: Pocket Watch Items used to make it: high quality steel Item Description: A somewhat large (normal diameter of 3.5 inches) working chained pocket watch with two clocks, a large main one and a smaller mini one embedded into the lower right blank area of the main clock, that is heavily influenced by Nix's dormant Tempus Papilio abilities and even embedded with her affinity to chaos. The larger clock works like a regular, twelve-hour clock. The smaller clock, when its dial rotates fully, measure exactly one minute. The mini and the main clock look exactly alive if their size wasn't accounted for; both use roman numerals. The watch, as a whole, is silver in color and has a cover that can be snapped open and closed. When open, the soft ticking of the mechanism can be heard. When closed, the watch is absolutely silent, all sounds are blocked. On the outside of the cover and back of the watch (basically, on both flat sides of the watch) is the finely done engraving of a detailed clock face without dials; compared to the raised decorations on most other pocket watches, such engraved decoration is quite unique. The design of the clock face engraving is exactly like the actual clock face inside, minus the mini clock. The inside of the cover is very reflective, creating a reflection as clear as any mirror's. The outside is equally reflective and clear, but the etched pattern distorts the mirroring effect slightly. In relation to Nix's dormant bloodline, the main clock keeps track of normal time with impeccable accuracy and the smaller clock, which is still until a time different from normal time is introduced, keeps track of distorted time with impeccable accuracy, translating it the way it seems to feel to the clock. Normal time refers to the time most people feel. Distorted time refers to the time that Nix feels when she's using certain Tempus Papilio skills on either herself or the clock. (Ex: Clock is in Time Ritard where 5 seconds is 1 normal second. Every time the main clock ticks off one second, the auxiliary clock has ticked away 5 seconds.) When still, the dial of the small clock always returns to the noon position. The clock only works when in possession of Nix (Nix doesn't necessarily have to hold the clock, it just needs to be clear that she's the owner). Should its time be off when its working for whatever reason, the dials will automatically move to the correct position and maintain the time from there. For now, the watch has no name. Not because Nix has no desire to name it or because there is no reason to name the watch, but because she has no idea what it's name originally was. It is one of the few things remaining from her past and is a complete mystery to the girl.Item Abilities: Just as the clock doesn't work unless the watch is in Nix's possession, all abilities can only be used by Nix. The watch is like a living being in that it exerts energy, the same energy as Nix to be exact. This energy combined with the soft ticking that is heard when the watch is opened allows even those who are blind to be capable of watching and thus being affected by the moves that require watching the clock face. The clock simply needs to be focused on in some way. As the clock isn't really just a mechanical tool anymore, being flooded with water or suffering from extreme temperatures does not harm it in any way.
This clock doesn't work solely by magic. For the same reason it is vulnerable when its face is broken, the contents of the watch still contribute to its function. Without her energy perhaps it doesn't work, but even with her energy a broken clock is a broken clock. You can have the watch be airtight so it doesn't leak, but if that sucker gets tossed in a volcano or incinerated there's no turning back. Time withstanding, of course.
- [When Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, he had a great fall. Even with all the king's men and all the king's horses, Humpty Dumpty could not be put back together again. Like Humpty Dumpty, this pocket watch cannot be fixed once it is broken. At least, not through conventional means. Though, if there was a way to reverse time on the object so that it was never broken in the first place, then perhaps it could be considered fixed. Luckily, though, the watch's shell isn't nearly as fragile as Humpty Dumpty's shell. Capable of withstanding just about any attack without a single scratch when closed, the watch is only vulnerable when its delicate inside is revealed. Minor repairs (ex: taking the dents out of the casing) are capable of being done. Only major repairs such as those involving the mechanism are impossible to accomplish.] Get rid of all of this. It's understood that time reversal makes a great many things possible, and it's a pocket watch. It's destructible. Losing time reversal doesn't justify giving it impenetrable armor. This is considered more of an RP oriented item, and is meant to have value to the character as a possession. If you'd like you could reduce melee damage against the watch up to a certain value, you could say it takes no damage against attacks made with less than 8 strength, and takes two ranks less of damage than a melee attack would typically deal, but elemental skills and magic aren't so easily defended against. You could also add that the damage resistance can go up to half the attack's total rank as its size is increased using Eat Me /Drink Me. You need to take care of a precious item like this, and it cannot be dismissed as a virtually indestructible item. It will make it more important as well, knowing she might lose it.
- [The White Rabbit led unwitting Alice to the beginning of her grand adventure. All that the rabbit did, though, was show the girl the path. It was Alice's decision to follow it. This passive ability works when the watch is closed. It is a guide for Nix. Nix's lack of memories has left her defenseless, helpless, and completely clueless. All she knows about herself is what she's known for the past year or so, and she knows the world even less. However, while she may have forgotten, the watch seems to remember, if it can be called that. Murmuring, "I'm late! I'm late!" to the watch when it's closed creates two glowing dials, only seeable by Nix, on the clock face etched into the watch casing. Both dials, one for the minute hand and the other for the hour hand, start at the 12 mark. They then turn clockwise until reaching their positions. The hour hand points in the general direction that Nix's past self would have gone in. The minute hand conveys the importance that the decision would have been to the past self. The watch does not foresee, warn, or anything of that sort. It simply takes what Nix already knows and points out a likely direction. Once Nix has finished reading the results, she ends the guide by murmuring, "For a very important date!".]
This looks great, and I only request you tweak one thing. Unless Nix is hallucinating, the glowing dials on the clock would be visible to anyone who could see the watch face, or in a dark area from the light it gives off. No one will know what it means or does, but when it's happening it should be perceivable to the naked eye.
- [A little cake labeled "eat me" and a little bottle labeled "drink me" caused quite a bit of chaos for poor Alice as she shrunk and grew repeatedly. It wouldn't be a surprise if she was quite confused as to her real size after a few rounds of eating and drinking. The watch, being filled with chaos, actually has no set size. It's "normal" size is simply the size the user likes to keep it in. It can instantly change size at the user's will, becoming anything as small as a keychain or as large as a wheel with a diameter equal to Nix's height.] This looks fine to me smile
Really sorry for the delays here Kage sweatdrop My comments are in bold within the quote!

No problem 3nodding . As for the changes. So far, I've edited everything at least semi-close to what you suggested. White Rabbit's glowing dial can now be seen by everyone. I've kept the watch's ability to survive extreme temperatures but added in that such durability has definite limits and that something like tossing the watch into a volcano (used your example) will destroy it. Lastly for the edits, Humpty Dumpty. I added in all the details you wanted me to, except for the part about magic being harder to block. I don't really understand why magic would be any harder to defend against than physical attacks. From what I've seen, magic attacks and physical attacks are just two different ways of doing the same thing. For instance, most magical barriers can be taken down as easily with a physical attack as with a magical attack. Likewise, I don't think shields really discriminate either. Although, your mention of magic did bring up another idea for me. Can I have the casing of the watch resist magic? Of course, it'd be damaged from it just as easily as from a melee attack. I just wanted to keep the inside of the watch from being tampered with when its closed. I haven't really looked into any of the skills, so I can't even say that a skill that's capable of attacking from a point inside of an inanimate object exists or something of that sort. However, if there was, I'd really like to prevent it. I understand making the watch breakable so Nix is extra-careful with it. However, if a spell can just reach into the watch and attack its achilles heel (the inside), then Nix's care would sort of be wasted.... I also added one last, random part to the abilities portion. It was just that only Nix could open the watch. My main reason for that was so that the watch doesn't have a chance of accidentally opening in a fight or something.

Don't add additional things to an item you've already submitted. This is a review of what is already provided, and requests for revisions don't mean that additional benefits or details can be added as a counterbalance to balancing the item. I don't see any edits in your initial submission, or the individual segment I quoted with the pocket watch. If someone attempts to manipulate the watch with magic, it won't be immune. The inside of the watch may not be tampered with when it is closed, but whether Nix's care is colossal or negligent, there are forces in the world that will be able to tamper with it when it's open. To the next point, anyone can open this watch. A stranger could pick up this watch, hold it, flip it around, open it and try to tell the time, but they would be unaware of its purpose or true power. Making it so that only Nix can open the watch it just further attempting to cut down on its vulnerability, especially if you're planning on making the watch largely tamper and damage proof when shut, water proof, element proof, physically resistant etc. As for why it would be harder to defend against, you are making the claim that the watch's metal is very strong. This doesn't protect it from strong magic anymore than it would protect it from strong physical blows. Magic and Melee are two different manifestations of physical force and power, and while physical attacks and magic have been worked so that they can partly interact with one another that does not make them the same.

Erm, alright. I'll take out the additional stuff then sweatdrop . Ah, I made the edits on a document I have on my computer. I was going to submit it in a new post when I finished clarifying the edits. Sorry for the trouble, edited my last post with what I have currently. I'm alright with the inside of the watch being tampered with magic when it's open. From the beginning, I meant for the watch to be completely vulnerable when it's open. My only worry was someone reasoning they could attack the inside of the watch while the watch was closed. Alright, alright. I won't add that in. I understand the watch won't be able to protect itself from strong spells, particularly the ones that are as strong as physical attacks that could damage the watch. It just that what you wrote sounded as if a weak magic spell could damage the watch as much as a strong melee attack (alright, maybe not something that drastic, but along those lines), which I didn't understand. I never meant for the watch to be completely immune to magic. At most, along the lines, I meant for the inside of the watch to be immune to magic, but only when the watch is closed.

Sorry, I didn't mean for it to sound like that. Minor magics may not be so effective, but just like physical attacks the watch has to have a degree of vulnerability - the difference being that it is more vulnerable to magic than physical damage. Where the watch may resist physical attacks made with less than 9 strength behind the blow, the determination of whether a spell would affect the watch would be more along the lines of Spells of C Rank or higher still affect the watch. If you'll make the edits we've discussed and work within these bounds, go ahead and repost the completed version when it's done. 3nodding

It can instantly change size at the user's will, becoming anything as small as a keychain or as large as a wheel with a diameter equal to Nix's height.]
Rp Sample: Nix backed off into a corner. She had tried to take a shortcut through a deserted alleyway… in the dead of night of all times. It wasn't really her fault. She didn't know that situations like this where she was surrounded by gleeful men on all sides could happen to her. The girl could see the expressions on their face. They were happy from the looks of it. Judging from how they were looking at her, she guessed she was what caused the happiness. Normally, she wouldn't mind that, but a few of the leers set her instincts off and made her want to get out of her situation as quickly as she could. "What a nice visitor," one of the men hooted, "We don't see many like you in these parts. Come on, why not hang out with us? We promise we'll show you a good time." "I-I'd love to?" Nix agreed, confused. They seemed awfully nice to her, despite the fear she was feeling. "Alright!" another man, younger, cheered. He immediately stepped up to Nix and went to grab her arm. The girl reacted, pulling her arm away. The man crooned, "Aw, come on babe, we won't do anything bad, you know." Nix was utterly confused. the girl thought, Finally, she replied, completely naively, "Er, right. It's just that… can I do something first? Then I'll go with you. Promise?". For the moment, she really was thinking about going with this gang of men that anyone, particularly a girl, with the slightest sense of common sense would have avoided at all costs. Nix just wanted to allay her fears.
She pulled out a pocket watch and murmured to it, too quietly for anyone else to hear, "I'm late! I'm late!". The two dials appeared, present before only her eyes. They swung counterclockwise as before. Nix waited for the dials to stop. The minute hand did, at the 12 sign after having made one entire revolution (a sign that the self Nix had forgotten would absolutely do what the hour hand suggested). The hour hand, however, wavered. It pointed at each of the thugs in turn. After the last one was pointed out, it simply went around again and repeated the process. Nix stared at the cover of the watch, confused. Was she supposed to go to each of the men who promised her a good time in turn? Were they all important to go to? That didn't make sense, particularly their high level of importance. Nix was oblivious but she had noticed this much: her past self didn't seem to like having fun much. She recalled the few memories she had. The watch had pointed directly to a person before, it led to Nix getting training that she needed. That was about the only time it had specifically pointed to a person. However, that situation seemed vastly from this one.
As Nix remained deep in thought, an arm swung around her shoulder. The girl jumped in surprise as it landed right on her breast. She shivered as the hand then proceeded to massage it. "Come on, what's the hold up?" the arm's owner whispered into Nix's ear, "Or maybe your teasing us into doing it right now? You know, if you wanted it that badly, you could have just asked." Nix couldn't see much of his face, she didn't want to, but she could see his grimy teeth and immediately felt the sense of panic from before.
"Hey, hey, don't take her all to yourself!" as another man came up and wound his around Nix's hip, resting it on her upper thigh, his fingers extending to the inner side. Her shivering grew worse. Any girl would shiver in this scenario. Nix was even worse. Her overly sensitive sense of touch magnified the disgusting touches of each men. Her breathing grew heavy as her neck was sized up by yet another hand and someone took hold of her other breast. It was when the hand that was on her thigh began to creep further up, the girl immediately freaked. The closed watch she held in her hand grew several inches larger in diameter to create a decent, mace-like weapon as Nix swung it by the chain at everyone that was crowding against her.
Groans of pain sounded out at Nix's attack. She'd obviously nailed a good number of people while also getting everyone away from her. "You *****!" one of them shouted, "What the **-". The sentence remained unfinished, though, as Nix acted before thinking. That feeling, she hated it. Absolutely hated it! She didn't know what it was, but it was disgusting and threatening. Before the men could try something like that to her, Nix was going to knock them all out. She now understood what the constantly shifting dial meant. It meant for her to beat each and every one of these punks until they stopped going after her. While Nix thought that running away might be the better solution in this case, she followed the advice that White Rabbit had given her.
While appearing meek, Nix was not a force to be messed with. At least, not by wannabe fighters like the shady men were. Whenever someone grabbed her watch to try and stop its arc of destruction, Nix simply shrunk it and jerked it back to regain control over it. Then, if she wanted to finish someone that was down, she simply swung the object high up into the air while it was at a fairly small size. When it reached its highest point, she'd increase it's size (and weight) to bring it down full force on her target. Changing the size of the watch was a simple skill, but one with many uses.
In decent time, Nix had downed all of the men who had tried to hit her up. The girl looked at the cover of her watch once more. The dial on the hour hand was no pointing in one direction, the direction she had come in. "I suppose I should leave," the girl thought out loud before she brought the object to her lips and murmured, "For a very important date!".

Kagetsukiko Alright, I'm fairly certain I did everything that was asked for. I really hope that I didn't miss anything.... RPC Name: Nix A RPC Rank: Student RPC Profile: HereCustoms Thread: ThereItem name: ??? As the clock isn't really just a mechanical tool anymore, being flooded with water or even suffering from extreme temperatures to an extent does not harm it in any way. Although, it will break if it suffers something as intense as being thrown in a volcano and such.
- [When Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, he had a great fall. Even with all the king's men and all the king's horses, Humpty Dumpty could not be put back together again. Like Humpty Dumpty, this pocket watch cannot be fixed once it is broken. Luckily, though, the watch's shell isn't nearly as fragile as Humpty Dumpty's shell. The watch's casing can take up to the equivalent of 8 strength damage (usually up to C-rank damage for spells) without a single scratch. Additionally, even when small, it takes 2 ranks less of damage than normal from skills. From there, the damage resistance can go as far as up to half the attack's total rank as its size increases. It is when the watch's delicate inside is open that it is most vulnerable, as just about any level of damage can break through the clock face. Minor repairs (ex: taking the dents out of the casing) are capable of being done. Only major repairs such as those involving the mechanism are impossible to accomplish.]
I'm late!" to the watch when it's closed creates two faintly glowing dials, not very noticeable unless someone is looking directly at the face of the watch's cover, on the clock face etched into the watch casing.
It can instantly change size at the user's will, becoming anything as small as a keychain or as large as a wheel with a diameter equal to Nix's height.]

RPC Name: Kinetav Erth'azar
Item: Locket of Eraysia
This is a simple silver locket that Kinetav keeps around his neck at all times; in it is the last remaining picture he has of his best friend Eraysia from his homeworld. Eraysia was in training at one of the Holy temples and helped him escape a few times by warning Kinetav in advance of the incoming forces if possible.
(( I will be editing Kinetav's background later on tonight to better reflect his pains, troubles, and include this best friend of his and give my character more substance. ))
