Change in the bathroom? It wasn't like she hadn't seen him before but as nervous as she was at times and the fact that they were in a place where a nurse could walk in any time Mitsu didn't give the act much thought. His behavior however was a little odd. Desmond seemed a little reluctant or nervous?

Looking toward the bathroom Mitsu caught glimpses of him changing. From the angle she was at she really couldn't see much even with the mirror to aid her. She did, however, catch a hint of the scar on his back. It was still hard to say how big it was because he turned from view once again but it still brought up a pang of guilt. If she had told him about all of this before would he have been more prepared for what had happened in the alley? The what ifs were a horrible thing to think about because no matter how she wished she had done this and tried that nothing was going to change what happened.

After standing up a couple of minutes Mitsu started to feel a little tired. She had done far more moving in the passed twenty minutes than she had in the last few days combined. It was so strange to be worn out so easily. Taking a seat on the edge of the bed she focused her attention out the window while she waited for Desmond to reappear, at least she did until she heard voices heading down the hall toward them.

It was hard to make out what was being said but Mitsu could tell it was the nurses and the tone of their voices sounded a little frantic and upset. Wide eyed she slid off the bed again and moved toward the bathroom quietly, her eyes focused on the door of the room leading out into the hall. She forgot her things were there in plan sight.

"Desmond, I think the nurses are coming." Hearing them just a couple of steps from the doorway Mitsu quickly stepped inside the bathroom and pulled the door partially closed. Her focus still wasn't really on Desmond, her nervous attention was at the door as the nurses stopped to look down at her bag she had forgot to move before stepping inside.

"Sir? Are you in here?" One of the nurses called looking around the empty room.

Mitsu gave a small nod and moved to the back of the bathroom while Desmond peeked out to deal with the nurses. Clutching the fabric of her shirt over her pounding heart she couldn't help but take a seat on the floor to avoid falling over. The blood rushing to her head was a bit much. There she sat with her knees drawn to her chest waiting to see if they would go away.

"Oh good you are here," The nurse seemed rather relieved at that. "The little girl from upstairs is missing. The one you often inquired about. Have you seen her or do you know where she may be?" The nurse wouldn't admit it but she was scared Desmond would bolt as well. The boy that had been rooming with him had vanished and now the girl.

"Who's stuff is this?" The other nurse asked picking up the bag that was in the hall.

The nurse had already started to unzip the bag before Desmond had answered, figuring someone had just randomly left it in the hallway. "Oh, this is...Yours?" She seemed to have a questioning look when she looked down and saw the top of a stuffed teddy bear. "Are you sure these are your things?" She looked up at Desmond rather skeptically, tilting the bag so that he could see the stuffed panda bear for himself.


"I suppose you're right. If she happens to stop by here press the intercom button to tell us immediately. She really shouldn't be up and about yet, she could easily-" And then the nurse faded out as she looked back when the other nurse inquired about the things in the bag. A stuffed animal? Surely that wasn't his. Maybe it belonged to the girl? If so she was probably close by.

Mitsu had seemed rather concerned when the nurses had found her things and even more so when they started to question Desmond about them. She had heard the bag unzip, no doubt they saw Ludwig sitting on top. Huddling closer to the wall she mouthed the word 'sorry' though Desmond wasn't really looking her way.

"Oh...I'm very sorry," The nurse seemed rather embarrassed now as she zipped up the bag and placed it in a chair within the room. "You should let your mother know not to leave your things in the hall. They could easily have been stolen."

The other nurse didn't seem to buy the tone as much but she didn't say anything about. Instead she stared at Desmond with a look that seemed to be gauging his answer. "Well, like I said. If you see her let us know." She stressed the word hoping he would get her point loud and clear. "She may seem okay but she still has a lot of healing to do. She could easily tear something open." Looking to the other nurse she shuffled her toward the door. "Come on, let's check the first floor and make sure she's not headed outside."

As the nurses left Mitsu could hear their footsteps fading away and finally sighed a heavy relief. She had been sure they would find her. "Thank you, Desmond."

"I'm sorry," Mitsu said with a nervous smile. "I'll make it up to you." Letting him help her to her feet Mitsu continued to hold his hand once she up. "I'm alright though, don't worry. Just a little sore. I heal pretty fast. It's at least...something positive from all that has happened." The speck of light in the dark abyss but at least she didn't have to hide it from him now.

"Maybe we should go before they get back." Moving into the room Mitsu grabbed her backpack before peeking out the door to see if anyone was in the hallway.

As soon as they were outside Mitsu took in a breath full of fresh air. She had woken up in the hospital so she really hadn't known how horrible the smell was until she was finally outside. The air inside was heavy with bleach and other cleaning chemicals trying to mask the odor of urine, blood, and sick. "It's so nice to breathe fresh air again."

When Desmond took her hand she looked up at the vampire with a small smile. She looked a little weary but no worse for wear. "I was going to ask you the same." Thinking it over she continued to walk, holding on tightly to Desmond's hand. "Do you want to relax in the park for a bit? Or ...." She wasn't sure where to go really. "Where are we going to stay tonight?" Logically, Mitsu figured she could go back to the dorm. Surely Riyo wouldn't make her go back to the hospital but she kind of wanted to stay with Desmond.

"Hotel?" She didn't really have the money to stay in one, not that Desmond would let her pay, but she hated for him to spend his money. "We could....always go to my house I guess. It's not very fancy or anything." And it was rather lonely now that her brother wasn't there. "But a hotel bed would be more comfortable or at least bigger I suppose. I'll help pay for it." Considering what they had been through comfort was a bonus but she hated to spend money too. The thought of what the hospital bill was going to look like nearly made her sick.

Then she paused when she remembered what was first on the list in her mind. "I...I am hungry though." She said reluctantly.

"I feel bad with you paying for everything." She admitted. "But I guess I will think about it. I have to get used to the idea of going home sooner or later, summer is coming." And she would be alone in the house. It wasn't something she liked to think about.

Taking the route to the closest fast food place Mitsu ordered quite a few things, her eyes bigger than her stomach at the moment. When she got her tray of food she waited for Desmond before she took a seat and started to eat. Normally she was rather slow at eating just picking at her food but today it seemed like she was hungry. Had she actually eaten at the hospital at all?
