Coming into the game late, Night still clung to Tybalt's arm like a child and stared at everyone with wide green eyes. There stood three canines, Tybalt, LW and another he didn't know. and if he wasn't mistaken they had been chasing something in the distance, something with white hair and horses legs, perhaps a kelpie? That didn't matter though, what matter what was that these kids were freaking out. Granted Night had been in the fog for awhile, he didn't seem to have hallucinations yet and as he watched the other students he knew something was defentilty wrong here.

"I...I smelt familiar scents over here and came this way." Night sniffed at Tybalt before eyes widening, "But I don't remember who I smelt, I just thought...maybe...I don't know?" Night tried to explain his reasoning for why he had come like he did but failed. "You were chasing, but why the chasing?!?" Night looked to the fields and shuddered in response, poor thing that had been chased.

As Tybalt moved away, Night kept moving closer to him, "There are cats here too?!?! and wait what? I don't understand!" Night shook his head in confusion and looked to LW for a better explanation, though she looked just as lost and confused as he did.

"Lw! LWWWW." Night moved to her and put his hand on her tummy rubbing, "There! I am Night, I am real....At least I think I am." Night cocked his head. Maybe he was seeing all the dogs and was going crazy himself. But that felt like the fog was talking or something.

"Wait wait, The thing you were chasing, do we continue?" Night held up his hands and asked all the puppies around, "Look Look, I am the only cat here and I HAVE NO IDEA what is going on." Night's ears flattened. He reached for his knapsack in security and comfort that he knew that was real and wasn't some hallucination. Though his hands met with air, and no solid form was found. "No! My knapsack is gone now! What the heck! Did the corn eat it!?!?" Night turned circles looking for the little bag.

Now, at first she thought the dog boy had lost it. There were no cats, not that she could see. "A cat, right...hey, don't you hear that?"

What at first sounded like moths had now turned to wasps. Many, many wasps buzzing around her head. Sometimes it felt like they were trying to get in, trying to bite and sting. She tried so hard to get them away, she hated wasps. One had flown in her ear as a child and it had bit her. Whisper really did not want to feel that again, especially when it sounded like there were so many. As she swatted away at her ears, she decided it would be best to introduce herself. "I'm Whisper by the way. Nice to -ah- meet you."

Now it felt like they were biting. Jack damn it. And now her bag was missing! What the hell was with this place! She felt like she was losing her mind. "Night was it? My bag is gone too!"

LW blinked suspiciously between the other two canines and the cat. They all looked real. And they sounded real. But so did the voices constantly whispering in her mind. As well as the giant wolf that had chased her this way. She remained crouched down, tail flicking back and forth for a couple of minutes, listening and trying to work things out. Hey! There was another piece to her bag. And...was that her flashlight?! Hallelujah! The she-wolf snagged these up and finally stood.

"I...I was with a group. Somewhere. I should find them soo-" Waitaminute. He said chase. He'd been chasing a couple someones. Why, at a time like this, did that little word make her perk up. "Chase? What are we chasing?" Why yes. She was going to chase it too. Maybe it was secretly one of those creepers? Or something better. Like the answers to the island? Or it was just her wolfie heart that wanted...or rather needed, the familiarity of something. And the thrill of a good chase could give her that. Maybe after that she could find her trusted-not trusted-friends-who-weren't-friends? Jack she was still confused!

"I'm Whisper by the way." LW blinked and glanced at the other canine, tilting her head when the ghoul spoke to them. She looked familiar. Where had she seen her before? Was she real? "I'm....LW....I think?" Could she go home now?

The one she was pretty sure really was Night came towards her and his hand moved to her stomach, rubbing. Candlejack that felt goooood! WAIT! "You ARE Night!" The she-wolf squeaked something and threw her arms around the cat, hugging him. He was real. At least she knew for sure one of them was real. Letting go of him, she glanced at Tybalt. "So...chasing. Shall we try and catch those you were chasing?"
PostPosted: Tue Mar 22, 2011 3:20 pm

"Che! Why are you sniffing me? Ya dumb cat! I don't have a scent, remember?" He was after all, a ghost. Ghost's didn't have a scent last he checked. Seriously. Of all the people, Night should know that! He was a ghost too! Though perhaps he scented Whisper? Or LW even?

"I'm Tybalt and yes... we should continue. I think Cal---hear what?" He broke off his sentence to ask the hell hound; confused. He didn't hear anything. Was she imagining things as well now? If she was, he hoped it wasn't anything that would cause any serious problems. The last thing he needed was to play sheep dog and start rounding up a group of people like a flock of stray sheep.

"Anyways... As I was trying to say, I was chasing after Calder and Emily. They took off alone in that direction." He answered the werewolf ghoul; pointing again for her to see where. "I think we can catch up to them, but I'm not sure if we'll startle the kelpie. He was babbling on about wolves chasing him or something. Though I personally didn't hear anything... I think maybe he's imagining it."

He started to get back to his feet when he spotted a familiar shine on the ground, as well as something beside it. It was his pendant! The one that that stupid cloaked guy dropped before! Beside it was his note and a little further away... a piece of map? What the hell were they doing there? Well no matter. At least he found them again.

Though as he collected them, he noticed another piece of map and another... and another... until he noticed a bunch of them scattered all over the place. Were they his? Couldn't be... He didn't have that many. In fact, he only had one...

The heck was going on..?

At this point Whisper was almost crying, but she did her best to keep the tears in. "Yes, it would be a good idea to follow them. We wouldn't want to lose them."

Her ears were going numb from twitching so much. She was glad this was happening, as she was tired of feeling the bites. At this point she was sure this wasn't real. But whether they were real or not didn't matter. Her mind was making her feel the pain. Treacherous mind, doing such silly things. Was it also causing her to see a glint a few feet away? Wisp sauntered over and shook the cornstalk. Her mace dropped down, and man was she glad to have at least one of her items back. She began to shake some of the other stalks, and sure enough the knapsack dropped. Luckily enough, her flashlight was inside. Good thing they weren't gone for long. "Night, maybe the corn did eat you stuff!"

"LW...I swear I know you from somewhere. Don't I?" Whisper was becoming more and more confused. She walked over and grabbed the ghoul's hand. "We wouldn't want to get even more lost, would we?"

Aside from sniffling sobbing, and going unknowingly insane, Israfel had been relatively motionless. He felt cold, damp, dirty, and alone. Not to mention he couldn't see. Moving his wings a bit, trickles of light filtered into his tiny cocoon of feathers. Mist invaded each crevice it could find. But as wings opened, Israfel shivered. He was alone. The voices had turned into whispers around him, the mocking name a silent echo in the air.
IsraFAIL
IsraFAIL

ISRAFAIL

The echo of his family's voices mingled with those of his class mates. He just wanted to get away from it all. He couldn't sing, he couldn't fly, he was useless. A failure. Nothing. Not even worthy to be called a siren. He was dirt. He was lower than dirt. He was lowest of the low.

Stumbling up, he wanted to move on, leave this horrid place. Yet as he reached down-
"Huh-" Where was it? His pack. His things! Stumbling in the fog he looked yet couldn't find them. Candlejack, where where they? Hands ran over the path. How could he move forward, unable to see? Soon enough he found it. His flashlight. And then...the note. The map piece. Looking up, they were all over. Panic set in. squawking, he scrambled to gather them until a gust of wind cast them into the air, towards the corn fields. Not thinking, the siren dashing in after them, jumping, trying to catch them in mid air.

Wing flapped yet found no lift. Hard reached up to get the map and somehow it evaded his grasp at each attempt. The echo of him name mockingly chased him. "Stupid siren. Can't fly" "Failure alright, unable to catch even a scrap of paper" "Ugh and look at it's clothes!" Jabs. Cruel heartless jabs. Yet Israfel was determined. He'd get that map piece. He'd show them! Not looking where he was going, the siren ran forward until he found himself looking at familiar faces. Some he knew, but from where he wasn't sure. "Have you seen it?" Earwings flicked about, frantic. "It's flew over here. It's mine. I lost it. Dropped it. I need it back. I have to prove I can." Blue eyes flicked over the group. Dogs. Dogs could track things. "You didn't smell it did you? I can't imagine it smelling very good, but I need it back."

"Please."

The hunchback continued to drag the whimpering demon deeper into the corn and mist, glancing over his shoulder to see that yes- no one was following them. Where they distracted by the insanity that seemed to be taking a hold of everyone? He felt lucid and clear, though... he had his orders and you MUST obey orders, even if they... they seemed a bit...

He shook his head. No. No. No he wasn't going to be spare parts. He wasn't going to be dragon chow. He wasn't going to be abandoned. He gave Barth a sharp shove ahead of him, reaching for his pipe in his pack, ready to do the deed right then and there before the Sloth could protest any more-

But his bag was gone. He turned around, groping at his hunch and sides. No... no he just had it a moment ago- His nostrils flared, brows knitting as he frantically glanced around. Just... just stay put! He motioned to Barth, trying to force him to stop fidgeting and coughing. Was he getting sick from all this cold and damp? Figured. Well, you won't be in pain much longer...

He spotted a glimmer of something among the dirt just a few feet away, and quickly hurried to scoop it up- his amulet! Good, good. He clutched it to his chest, finding more bits and pieces- his flashlight, a map piece- wait. He hadn't seen this one before. No matter. He quickly stuffed as much as he could into his bag, trying to shake the feeling that something was awry.

Everything would be alright soon enough.

He glanced back to Barth over his shoulder, brows knit. Friend... or Master...? Barth rarely acted as a Master to him, but... but he always did act as a friend. He introduced him to Video Games. They had spent hours tinkering together. He didn't know any other student who liked to build contraptions like they did, and it was invigorating.

But Mistress wanted him Dead. Dead. Needed him dead. Part of her plan. Master- or Mistress- knew best, right?

'That's right,' came that gentile voice, 'Your Mistress does know best. You like her, don't you? You want to be her's? Then you must prove yourself worthy to be her's. I will not have broken merchandise sullying my good name and track record.' Thin, cold, black clawed hands lay gently on his hunch. Your new Mistress knows more than you- can't you see?

Christof's breathing was coming quickly now as he gripped his pack to his chest, staring at Barth wide-eyed as the Sloth's eyes glinted as though reflecting a fire that wasn't there. He had never seen his eyes glow like that before...

'It is an impostor. She was saving your life. Now quickly... make her proud, my Creation. Make us all proud. '

His boot hit something hard and rusty- his pipe. He was hyperventilating as he scooped it up, stealing his courage- they were alone, now was the time, now was the time- the pipe swung through the air, but that glimmer of doubt that still crawled madly up through the fog in the Igor's mind sent his blow off kilter, instead hitting Barth's horns with a loud and terrible CLANG.

He moved through the stalks, carrying his small bundle as he looked again, eyes straining through the fog. There was a mist before him. NO. There was a mist in his eyes. Damn. He was always getting like this. Real stallions were made of harder stuff. Then again, if he had been top stallion, everyone would have listened to him, but no one did. Even if they had been real, he doubted anyone would listen. He wasn’t impressive. Not like the other students. Just looking at him, he made most people laugh. Him? A monster? Him? Scary? How could he protect anyone if he couldn’t frighten them away? No wonder no one respected his commands, but why did it matter? They weren’t real anyways.

And if they had been?

Well, for the same reason they didn’t respect his commands, it was probably why he didn’t have any friends. Just look at him. Pathetic. How did other kelpies get through being like this? Looking this way before they hit the age to really look scary? He never knew. He never knew any other kelpies growing up. None of the small ones talked to him during clan meetings. He’d always been the odd horse out of the herd.

His grip tightened around Emily as he moved, deeper into the fog.

All alone.

Calder cringed as the little boil continued to follow them. Him and his damn dogs. The place reeked of them.

“I’m used to it.” He called back, frowning deeply as his ears pinned back. He’d been alone growing up.

His parents sent him here to gain friends and create happy memories, but he failed that too. No one wanted to be friends with some pretty, wild, crazy, unmannered kelpie from the woods that didn’t know anything about anything. He wasn’t scary. He wasn’t smart. No wonder Chrsitof ran off…only to disappear. He hadn’t even wanted to be touched by him.

It’s because you’re disgusting.

The words of the fauns came back to him, and the ghost boil laughed them back as he followed behind.

Maybe he was meant to be alone. He grew up that way. He should be used to it. Even he thought he had friends, he was really alone. The time he sprained his left, no one had been there for him. No one asked him how he was or if he needed help. He helped Chrsitof all the time. Gave him advice, perked him up, got him back on his feet and showed him new things, but the Igor never returned it. He never asked or wrote with any concern and usually hit him or was bothered by his company. He would have probably been happier without him.

Even if he called him a brother….in some way….

Maybe he was lying or maybe, back when in the field, he hadn’t been real either. How could he be sure he didn’t make that up in his head.

“Don’t worry, Emily.” He sniffled, looked ahead. “We’ll find the way. Just you and I.”

She’s not real either. And the ghost boil laughed, causing Calder to spin about in surprise.

No!

She….she had to be alive. Looking over at the ghoul, he noticed her clothes and then, staring at him, her glowing eyes.

He dropped he ghoul immediately, her small body hitting the ground, and stepped away. “No. No. No. No. You were supposed to be my friend.”

I told you. You’re all alone. You lived alone. You’ll die alone.

Whining, he curled down covering his ears as he curled in. “No.No.No.No.No.nononononononoooooo.” He wanted to go home. He didn’t want to be here. He wanted Fester. He wanted his friend.

Tybalt! She knew him from track! And...wait, didn't Ren know him too? LW frowned. Ren. That name. It was her friend's name. A friend she trusted. With her life. REN! How the Jack had she started to forget him. And Gabe. Alessa. She really really hated this fog. And this island. And...

"What?" LW tilted her head and listened. Aside from the voices (which she was starting to get better at ignoring), the she-wolf didn't hear anything else.

"Maybe we should...go catch them then. The other two." She blinked in surprise when the ghoul, Whisper, grabbed her hand. Yes. They didn't want to get lost. Or separated. Again. Like she'd been separated from her friends. Friends she did have. And trusted. Stupid voices were lying to her. At least...she hoped they were. Wait. She DID hear something. Coming towards them. What...a boil? Ghoul? What was it?! It had wings. Blue hair. Whatever it was, it was in distress. And stumbled upon their group. He had ear wings. They were cute. And why was she focusing on this and not what he was saying? LW was losing it. Or...had she already lost it?

"Smell...it?" Her gaze went between herself, Tybalt, and Whisper. The she-wolf shrugged. "I...err, didn't smell anything other than...horse?" She frowned. What the Jack? Horse? "Were we supposed to chase the horse?" Something in her was slowly starting to feel like it was drawn too tight. Friends. She needed to find her friends again soon.

Someone in the distance was shouting. It sounded like 'no'. "Do you all here someone shouting? Or crying? Or...what is that?"
PostPosted: Tue Mar 22, 2011 7:18 pm

"Yeah... I really think we ought to start moving. I don't like this place and staying in one spot too long can't be any good. Plus, I don't want that freakin' kelpie to gain anymore distance on us." He said, tucking the pieces of map into the bag he had just re-found, along with his flashlight. Though, the second he took a step forward, something flew directly into his face.

"Sonuva---!!" He clawed it away irritably only to find that it was yet another map piece. "Just what the hell's going on!?" He snarled; just as Israfel appeared out of the cornstalks.

"Smell what!? THIS!?" He snapped, holding up the now crumpled map piece before he chucked it onto the ground at the siren's feet. "TAKE IT!"

Jeez! Anymore surprises he should know about?

"Yes we're chasing the horse and that definitely sounds like Calder." He replied to LW. "The little s**t! I told him to wait up!" He growled in frustration, before moving forward again.

"Let's go. I don't want to stay here any longer..."

(( Okay so Tybalt, LW, Whisper, Night, and Israfel in pursuit of the Kelpie?? BD ))

Vaith wasn't sure when he woke up. He woke up on the ground, head throbbing. Apparently, he had fallen back in the trail somewhere. His head hurt badly-- finally it was clear but it was painful. Instead of fog clouding his mind inside out, it seemed Mr. pain had taken on that job instead.

Ugggggh.

Ugh is right.

He grimaced, his teeth gritting. He reached for what should have been his pillow. But the brown bag wasn't there. Perhaps it was out of reach? On his knees, the reaper crawled around rather pathetically .. He wasn't sure how long he looked. He only knew it felt like forever since his hand made contact with the worn cloth. Oh, paper scrunched under his knee.

And his hand.

And his other knee.

One blew in his face.

You look pathetic.

Was that right? He didn't have so many pieces before.. Did it rip? Could paper rip into bigger pieces?

If you think paper rips into pieces, you're an idiot.

"Wait, I'M an idiot? What are you, a mind reader?!"

... Uh.. Who was Vaith talking to? Before Vaith could ask, a flurry of people ran by, in pursuit .. of something. Oh s**t. Vaith should get out of the way before he was horribly stampeded on--- Was he about to get stepped on?

((Works with me, also belated roll OTL))

"Aw, aw, please don't crumple it." Israfel sniffled as the voices ruskled with the corn in the faint wind. 'Fail'. His wings gave a slight twitch and poof, feathers shooting out in various directions. Reaching down, he picked up the scrap, trying to smooth the edges and get the mud stains off. Before placing it in his bag he let out a small confused cry. Hadn't he gotten more? He was sure he did. He looked at the rest of the gathering. They wouldn't have taken them.
Would they? Maybe. He didn't know. But placing the map into his bag, he closed it sharply, keeping a hand on the flap. They were his. He'd found them. Just like he'd found them. Them. Them being these other students. Students from school. Yes. Yes! They were his classmates. He could trust them, couldn't he. He'd gone to school to get better. Yes. They could understand him.

They had to.

"Horse? I don't hear a horse. Or see one. What would a horse being doing in corn?" Better yet what was he doing in corn? Oh. Jack, he wasn't sure. He'd been trying to get somewhere. On a path. Yes. He'd wanted to stay on a path. Not find horse, not find- "Calder?" Israfel made it a question. The name sounded familiar. "Calder isn't a horse. He's a kelpie. Kelpies aren't in corn fields." Following the angry looking black dog, feathered ears twitched, the swaying stalks hissing 'fail' with each step, sending the siren into a more tense bundle of nerves. "Calder is a kelpie and he shouldn't be in a corn field. He'd ruin his kilt."

Hm? In his walking, did he pass someone? Something? "Scarecrows are in corn fields." He looked backed. "Hello scarecrow, have you seen a kelpie in the corn?"

A quick tug on the back of his shirt pulled Vaith back and out of the way. "I-I'm not a mind reader b-but um...do you need help?" On the ground behind him sat the one referred to as Emily, looking a bit worse for the wear. Bits of corn husk stuck out from her hair, and there was a large smudge of dirt on the side of her face. She also had yet to let go of his shirt.

They were either all dead and insane, just insane, or all losing it horribly. Was the winged blue-haired one talking to the corn? LW blinked and glanced around. Wait no. He'd said something about a scarecrow? Those were supposed to be in fields, right? Like Liya. Wait. Liya? That was her friend. Which she had several of. Didn't she? JACK! The she-wolf hated this fog. It made her feel upset. Confused. Terrified.

But at least they were running. Or jogging. What where they doing again? Jack damned fog! Horse. Thing. The one whose scent they followed. Oh right! Chasing someone. How fun! Chasing things was fun. Especially with fellow canines. And feline. And....what was the blue haired one? OHAY LOOKIT! Wasn't that another piece to her map...? Was her map supposed to be in that many pieces? She snatched it up on the go, stumbling a little before regaining her balance. Once good, she followed the small canine and friends squad chasing after the horse. Thing. Had she heard the word kelpie in there? Whatever. He had better be ready for them!

((Long day of classes for me tomorrow and won't be back until evening, so feel free to pull LW along in the chase <3 ))
