I doubt Yoh lied when he told Amidamaru and Manta the story of when Yohmei told Yoh (as a kid) about the Shaman King and the King of Spirits. neutral

That he has to be Shaman King?? Either way, I still think he'd be happy for his friend (whomever) if that person had become Shaman King and not him.

I meant what I wrote. Yoh knows that working hard is important to be a Shaman King. He wasn't lying when he told Manta and Amidamaru how he decided to be Shaman King. He wants to be Shaman King, it doesn't mean he will be.
