Shifting again as well, Shun was starting to hope that Mitsu wouldn't be squirming about a whole lot more while they were keeping one another warm. Her body felt rather hot right now and he still had to wonder somewhat of what the cause there was.

"I've.. always enjoyed music. As you know, I'm not really all that good with expressing myself or really connecting with emotions. Listening to music kinda helps with that a little. It... might sound kinda stupid but hearing some of the guitar solos and stuff made me want to try it myself. Guess I got hooked on it. Sometimes I feel like it's the only way I'm able to really be able to channel how I feel. Again that probably sounds kinda stupid."

"No, I don't think it sounds stupid at all," Mitsu shook her head lightly. "Its much easier to let a tune express how you feel when you yourself don't know." Though she hadn't actually touched a piano in a couple of months now. It was hard to go back when the memories were made fresh all over again. The song she had played for Desmond the night before Halloween....had actually been something she had made for him, and in a distressed fit of rage and depression she had shredded every scrap of sheet music she had a few days later to only cry over it in the end.

"Is there anything you want to talk about while we have time to kill?" She did her best to keep from shifting but her body continued to move here and there. It was like she couldn't sit still.

Shun seemed as if he was going to say something, but he was starting to become a little distracted with her fidgeting, considering where she was sitting. Shifting as well, he did his best to ignore it but it definitely wasn't easy. Pushing away certain thoughts for the time being, he finally was able to say something after looking her over somewhat.

"Those... stitches.. you weren't injured recently were you?" he asked. He was around her quite a bit but didn't recall her getting hurt. That wasn't to say that he couldn't have missed something though. However, the idea of her getting hurt to where she needed stitches without him knowing didn't sit all too well with him.

"T..the stitches?" That did make Mitsu shift uncomfortably, bringing her arms up around her torso to hide the evidence. She seemed hesitant to reply not wanting to lie but not really having much of a choice. "I...I was being careless...I guess." Though she didn't elaborate. She really didn't have a story in place. "I..I'm kind of accident prone." Or the main subject in a mad man's science experiment. "It's nothing serious." If only.

"S...so what's the difference between wearing boxers and those tighter trunks guys wear?" Desperate to change the subject matter again she was grasping at straws...and she picked a rather awkward straw to grab. Just as soon as the question left her mouth Mitsu's face was nearly crimson.

Shun wasn't completely convinced with her story there, due to the nature of her reaction. If she didn't seem so hesitant or seem like she was trying to cover something up, he would have believed her otherwise.

"You can tell me anything you know..." he said softly before blinking at her question. It was... kind of out there.

"Boxers are more comfortable.

That was all he said, figuring she could figure out the reasoning there.

"More comfortable? How would they be.....oh," Her face grew red all of a sudden. Her off topic question really hadn't helped her in the slightest. If anything she felt more awkward sitting in his lap because of it.

With a light sigh she looked to the ring around her neck, it was far too large for her, a black band with a silver design. "Its not that I don't trust you, Shun." She finally said, her eyes growing sad. "I just...don't want to get others wrapped up in my problems more than they already are." It was very dangerous in her mind. Suto seemed like a very capable individual, and while Shun might....kill people for a living, Suto killed people for the joy of it. He had told her the truth about New Years Eve and the body that had been found on the school grounds. It hadn't been the first and wouldn't be the last. So ever since she had been sitting on this horrible secret afraid to tell a soul about it least she face whatever he had in store for her.

Looking into those sad eyes, Shun stared as if he could somehow find out what was wrong, but all he saw was sorrow. He got that the ring was somehow involved with all of this but... he didn't know how. The assassin wasn't going to pry.. this time though the thought that Mitsu was getting hurt so much because of it drove him nuts.

"Just... remember. I'm here for you. And... that you aren't alone.." he said quietly, "I don't want to see you suffering.."

"I..I know," Mitsu tried to smile again. "But...there are worse things than suffering myself." She wanted to protect her friends, they were all she had left. If she became the cause of their suffering..she wouldn't be able to bare it.

Thinking about Suto again her mind wandered to the future. She wasn't sure about her's anymore but, "Shun, what do you want to do...when you get out of school?" She had hope that his 'job' wasn't going to be the only thing he would be doing. It seemed like a sad existence to do nothing but take the lives of others even more so when you were made to do it. That thought also made Mitsu start to wonder about herself and how easily she was cooping with this new found news. Her innocence to death and suffering had obviously become quite jaded.

Staring into her eyes more, Shun let out a sigh. He really didn't like that she was doing this alone. At her question, he glanced away briefly as he tried to think on the answer.

"I really don't know. I have an idea of what I'll be doing, but I don't know what I want."

In that regard, he felt that his life was a rather empty one. But he had strong doubts that he would ever be able to lead a relatively normal or fulfilling life. His greatest skills were dark, he did not deal with people well at all, and he really didn't know much else.

"...What about you?"

"Well, what I want to do and what I will be doing is different." She said leaning her head back against his shoulder. "I think I'm going to try to be a nurse though." She continued to fidget with the ring and the small panda charm on her necklace as she spoke. "My parents used to be researchers in the field of medicine and genetics. I had thought about that but my brother advised against it. That's where the accident happened so I guess I can understand."

With this new bit of info, Shun could see more easily how it could have been considered an accident. There still was a part of him that suspected otherwise, but again that could have easily been because of his personal nature.

"So you'd be help saving lives," He mused, having a rather dark thought that some of her future patients could easily be his victims.

"I think... there's always some degree of risk regardless of the field you go into. If you can.. do what makes you happy."

"It wasn't so much what I wanted to do, just something," Mitsu explained. "Music is really hard to get into and I freeze up in front of large crowds. Didn't seem like a good idea so I decided on something more...practical." She paused for only a moment. "It's not like I don't want to be a nurse. I like the idea of being able to help people....instead of being like I am now. All I can do is just sit and watch from the sidelines when there's trouble. I'm not very handy. That day I helped you at the pool was the most I've ever done. Usually I panic and can't think. It was nice to know...that I was of some use."

"It may have been the most you've done... but I'm still very glad you did it. I probably would have drowned otherwise," Shun said quietly to her with a softened expression, "I'm sure you're handier than you give yourself credit for anyway. I'm sure.. if someone direly needed the help you'd be able to pull through for them."

"I hope I would be able to." Mitsu said just as quietly.

The both of them talked a bit more, the conversation drifting from one random subject to the next. Finally a bit of time passed and they ventured to try and redress. Mitsu found that her clothes still held a bit of moisture from being cold but they were at least not dripping wet. It was still uncomfortable to put them on but maybe after a while they would dry out a bit more or maybe once they got outside they could start a fire.

"So should we follow the stream still or figure out where the wolverine came from?" Mitsu could probably at least help with that. Her sense of smell had to be good for something.

The majority of Shun's clothing was dry since he had removed them before going into the water. Though, his pants were still fairly moist at the moment. It would do for now. Tossing on his shirt, jacket, and shoes, he looked towards Mitsu then glanced down at the wolverine.

"If we could track where the wolverine came from that'll be our best bet I believe," he nodded. Hopefully it didn't fall in like they had. The creature didn't seem injured so that was probably not the case anyway.

There was a slight limp in his step, thanks to the damage the little beast had inflicted onto him, but he was doing his best to not let it be noticeable.
