I don't think they really needed the activation codes. I never thought that announcing that your transforming was ever a good idea in a battle situation. As the Beast Wars continued on, they used the codes less and less. However, it did carry over to Beast Machines and every other series that followed Like Robots in Disguise's simple activation code of "Transform!". I guess the series creators wanted a kinda catch phrase, like how G.I. Joe says "Yo Joe!" or the Thundercats yelling "Ho!"

I don't know . . . the sounds of metal parts shifting and falling into place has it's appeal given that is what these guys are. Then again, nostalgia also makes me see what you are talking about. the classic sound effect is very nice too. wink

Well, in beast wars, it's not just metallica parts shifting, so in that series it makes sence why they made a different noise. However, when Ravage showed up in Beast wars, he transformed and it made a really similar noise to how they used to transform in G1 even if it wasn't 100% accurate.BogiePop ...In bw there allways was a badguy on the maxamles teem Dinobot & Blackarcnea that went good they are my favrit transformers from that show but i liked them better evil Yeah, my favorite was always Dinobto, out of every series and TF, he's my favorite completely. I don't think he was ever truly bad or good, when siding both with the Predicons or Maximals, he seemed to act the same. I mean, he did get a little soft being with the Maximals, but he did betray the Maximals once, but his sence of honor was always there, regardless of what side.

Just a note on something for the debate of Tarantulas'es descent it is beleived himself and the Tripedicus council were actually descendants off the G2 Decepticons and not Spawns of Unicron this was intended to be a insult kind of thing, not to be taken literally.

That doesn't make alot of sense, since technically the G2 'cons were ultimately Unicron's children anyway. Yeah, they transformed, but only how he wanted them too. He ripped em' apart and rebuilt them. So I believe it to be taken literally. Besides, It gives ol' Spider Legs more of a sinister air to him, to think that he is descended from the ultimate villaim in the TF mythos.

Hmm, well, I thought the subject of Taranchulas' origins have been discussed already, even though I don't recall if we agreed upon anything. I can site this though... --> Scientist, and covert Predacon police lieutenant in the service of the Tripredacus Council. Always trying to save himself first (and last), his beast form was a giant tarantula. Megatron often relied on Tarantulas because of his technological and strategic brilliance, but was always suspicious of his intentions and aspirations. Well known for his frequent maniacal laughter. Shortly before his demise, Tarantulas made a remark implying that he, as well as the Tripredacus Council, were not descended from the Autobots or Decepticons that crashed landed on Earth, "I, like the Tripedacus Council, have Different origins" (Megatron later refers to Tarantulas as "Unicron's spawn". Although this is never built upon in this series and may have originally been intended as a generic insult, it has been embraced by the later fictions -- Megatron's knowledge of this was never explained, and it may have simply been an insult that ironically turned out to be true). He later died from an accidental shot from his own ray gun while fighting the Vok influence which he had extracted from Tigerhawk. In the BotCon comics, it is revealed that his death was merely a ruse to deter the alien Vok. His spark corrupted the extracted Vok, and he was now capable of utilizing their power to his own ends. Tarantulas soon built Tripredacus Agent (speculated to contain the spark of Ravage) and engineered various leftover protoforms with Transmetal 2 technology. In Transformers: Universe, Tarantulas returned to his true master and creator, Unicron. He also had an intense love interest in Blackarachnia, but was consistently rejected. I got that info off of the Wikipedia.

Hey, ya'knnow that episode "Transmutate?" Like, Rampage calles Transmutate "Transmutate" before it ever discovers it's name, right? I'm pretty certain it's an error, but I was wondering if anyone else can explain it; maybe I was just looking at it wrong.

Due to whatever problems 'Transmutate' had that caused it's malformation it is unlikely that a great deal of past information, including a name, would ever surface. As such, the name was probably something thrown out there by Rampage. Last second, but accurate. Undoubtedly that is not it's origonal name, but with a twisted form like that, any information would be lost. Even gender, since it was fairly ambigious in that respect as well.

Well, I mean I understand it's data-tracks can't be recovered at all, but what I meant to say was that Rampage tells Transmutate to do something calling it by the name "Transmutate" but in the next scene he is checking out Transmutate but when he inspects it he says the word "Transmutate" as if right then and there he is naming what kind of being it is.slai Hi Kikaryu, Thanks for that Wikipedia info!
