Amrita didn't know who MeiXiu was...and looking around didn't help her figure it out, either! Well, damnit! She fidgeted in her seat for a bit, watching Tahki leave with her class partner - awwww maaaaan why couldn't she be paired with someone she knew?! That wasn't fair. Then again, it made sense; if she was paired with a friend and failed, that would probably not make them friends with her anymore. Hrm. Oh well.
When nobody approached her she felt it safe to assume that she was supposed to get them (maybe whoever was called first had to grab the pumpkin?), and slid out of her chair, steading herself on the desk. Picking up the pumpkin, she lightly moved it between her reversed hands, then held it against her mostly hollowed chest as if to protect it. Nobody told her that her partner had already picked up the pumpkin, so maybe her partner was still around?
"Umm...MeiXiu?" She called quietly, though hopefully enough for the owner of that name to wander over to her. ( Minipet Profile here!)

She was going to raise a pumpkin creature, with Braum. With the same demon she had just got done nearly punching in the face. Before she could even say a word he had swept up taking claim of the pumpkin before she could even protest the idea, or agree to it.
This resulted in a few things; first the desire to snatch the pumpkin away heaven forbid she let him run the project and raise a child. The second was the one she acted on as she slumped at her desk.
"Can I file for a divorce in this situation or have my own pumpkin? I'll even work with Shehk." She pointed to the back of the room towards the demon, "You can't possibly believe that this is a remotely good idea."

AyeAvast ((Profile is here!)) For a moment, Belladonna turned to gaze at the creature she was to be raising her soon to be baby with. He had lovely feathers and she rather liked his hair cut, but she had never met him before and he looked a little shy. The fact that this was a class and she needed a good grade caused her to stand and walk in halting steps toward the desk, sign her name and carry the pumpkin back to her seat, where she cradled it in her many layers of skirts. But the familiar fear of some screaming, crying thing filled her up. She wasn't ready to be a mother!! Taking a second to inspect the pumpkin for any strange markings, she turned to Julian. "I.... Hi... I'm your....... Baby's mother." Hmmm. That sounded off. "Oh. And Belladonna." Julian had hoped he'd be paired with one of his friends at least, not... someone he didn't even know. So when Nurse Cricket told the class who was paired with whom, he lost a few shades on his face. He glanced up when Belladonna walked over and blinked at her.
"I-I'm J-Julian." Geez, this was a great way to start off this assignment. Poor phrasing and awkward introductions. Why did he think he was okay with friends dragging him places? He noticed his friends moving away from him and felt even more awkward. The poor boil turned his attention back to Belladonna, trying his best to give her a little smile. He looked down at the pumpkin and his hand moved slightly, wanting to reach out to take it in order to inspect it. But it was just a small twitch, for he'd caught Sin's remarks, and worried that Bella would not like him touching it.

For once, Braum looked up with excitement apparent in his eyes, turning on the full extent of whatever gentlemanly charms he had and beaming them all towards Cricket as Sammy spoke up about "divorce". Nodding with agreement, he cuddled the pumpkin closer without noticing it. He'd be damned if his child would have anything to do with that wretch of a woman.
"Yes, I would like to file for 'irreconcilable differences' and petition for full custody of my child, where the mother will be allowed to visit only on weekends, for a set amount of time, and with a chaperon because she is obviously an unstable, unfit parent and needs to be WATCHED," he agreed with earnest. Petting the top of the pumpkin and hoisting it up a little higher to readjust himself, Braum was just fine keeping the little pumpkin right where it was. LET the girl work with the FearLeading captain......PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF JACK, he prayed it would be so.
Once his two cents on the matter was done, he looked over to Hadiyaa and her partner. Giving a polite, gracious nod towards Junko he smiled slightly at her. It appeared the girl would be a good match for his marid. Bumping her gently with his hip and circling her with a wing he cooed his contentment at having a little fledgling of his own to care for and nuzzled the marid with content excitement.
"We should set up a playdate for them. I'm sure my tiny Aerrue {air-roe} would enjoy the company of your little one, darling," he fawned, nodding towards Junko and Yaya's pumpkin, and unilaterally naming the child on the spot. In his mind, he'd already divorced Sam and won the custody argument, so why NOT name his little one as he wished?

Oh good, so this was her after all! Junko smiled a little more confidently, adjusting the pumpkin in her arms so it was more comfortable. "Alright, Yaya." She chirped, blinking and looking toward her outstretched hands. Huh? What was she--oh, right. She wanted to hold their baby. Junko offered it to her carefully, worried that she'd drop it; she wasn't worried Yaya would, she was worried she would, she'd never handled a pumpkin meant to be a baby before! "It's very nice to meet you too!" See, Mistress? This ghoul was nice! She didn't look mean at all, just very touchyfeely with this boil. Junko stood a bit awkwardly at first, about to pull up the nearest seat to sit when she felt eyes on her. Of course not only could she feel them but she could see them as well. Oh dear...w-was she alright? Did everything look okay? She'd been sure to keep her hair clean for this class! Of course She was probably due to be fed any minute now, she hoped She'd keep her loud mouth shut for just a few more minutes so she could meet her partner at least...that and she wasn't sure if Nurse Cricket would allow for her to feed Her food in her class, especially with all the creepy bugs crawling around all over the place. Bugs liked food, right? She most certainly did not want to attract them.
But Yaya's staring was making her rather...self conscious. She didn't like it. Nothing against Yaya! Just...the staring...she didn't like to be stared at in this way; it made her paranoid. Finally she got a compliment and breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you." Junko said gratefully, sitting down finally. But now she see where Yaya was still looking. Her hair. Oh dear. Junko blushed a bit and played with a piece of hair that wrapped itself around her finger in an almost comforting manner, giving her finger a tiny little squeeze before relaxing and letting her twirl it herself. She blinked and watched the exchange between the boy next to Yaya and his partner, unable to keep from giggling at how they were going about this. A divorce? Haha! But they weren't actually married! How silly.
Junko returned the nod to Braum and smiled a bit more. Wow! They were both a lot nicer than everyone was making them out to be! He even smiled at her! She blushed a bit as the two got..cozy again, awkwardly looking away for a moment until she heard Braum mention a playdate and a name. Oooh! Junko turned back to them, her smile returning. "That'd be fun! We should name ours too, Yaya~!" Babies needed names, right? And Braum had given his such a lovely name! She could even hear Sin and her partner discussing names for their own baby.

Cricket immediately looked at Sammy's inquiry with the same look of disgust that she had Shehk's. One that said, long before she opened her mouth, that nobody was going to be happy about whatever it was she was going to say;
"You break order in my class with your squabbling, and now you want me to show mercy on your lack of good behavior? You two.." she looked to the Raum, and then to the Zombie, before she continued, "will work together as I have assigned." she ended flatly. Certainly the woman could have continued if she'd been so inclined, but she soon had to wrap something up in her scarf, a little vine-like appendage sticking out and flickering back and forth like some sort of tail.
"This should teach at least one of you to have the manners required to be the bigger person in a petty squabble."

Morrigan sighed. She wasn't sure what the purpose of this really was. It wasn't like she was ever planning to reproduce anyway. She didn't know anything about babies. That's when it donned on her that this experience might be just that. To teach you about babies, the responsibilities of it, all that. Still, why learn knowledge or information that you never plan on using? Any way she looked at it, it seemed a waste of her time. The only solace she had was in her partner, a very good looking boy. At least, she was fairly certain he was a boy. She was confidant that she had one of the best partners in this class. Just look at him.
Wanting to waste no time, she moved forward to grab their baby. She considered herself the mother and it was the mother's responsibility, right? The baby didn't look like much. She walked over and sat down beside Israfel, Mimic bouncing happily behind her. "I'm Morri, the mother of our baby. I think it's time you met it. I feel rather put out, abandoned by you. What were you thinking? Loving me and leaving me like that? It's okay, I forgive you. You owe me two bags of gummi bats in back child support though," she teased playfully in greeting. At least he was cute. Damn cute. Too bad the baby wasn't.Minipet Profile

Swirly blues had wandered from Junko's curious hair to the zombie, then further to their teacher. A comforting hand resting on Braum's knee. she had a feeling all this talk of separation was nothing more then a lost cause, but she certainly couldn't blame either partner for trying. And as if on que, Cricket spoke up and confirmed that they would in fact have to work together. The Marid turned a meaningful look on the Raum that spoke clearly that she would not only aid him anyway she could, but would be sure to remind him not to leave his dorm without taking his toxins. No doubt he would be much more agreeable under the beneficial effects of the toxic brew.
No use dwelling on what can't be changed though. "A play date sounds fabulous Braum, what a grand idea." She beamed at him before glancing down at the pumpkin now cradled in her lap. Shoulders rolling back automatically to brush the silken feathers that now curled around her. A name? It did need a name. "We should, our little darling deserves a lovely name. Any ideas?" Blue eyes flicked up, turning that benign smile up to the other ghoul.
Talk of names and playdates had suitably distracted her from the oh so alive look of Junko's hair, but she had noticed the odd way the hair had coiled about the other's finger. Odd, very odd. It was an inquiry for another time though. As always, she was perfectly oblivious to social ideals of personal space, and she didn't see her closeness with her friend as anything odd or risque. At that, she missed Junko's awkward turning.
"I believe class is over. Perhaps we should all find somewhere else to discuss our new babies. Braum, since you and your partner are bound together for this project, maybe you could ask her along?" A little frown had farmed dark lips into a perfectly adorable little pout. "You don't have to, of course, my dear Nevermore, but it may be less painful for all concerned if you and her found some sort of civil understanding." It was a suggestion, nothing more. She would certainly no boss the Raum around lightly.

Alcyone had never met Tess before but she had seen her while the students had been mingling earlier in the class. The girl was missing... legs? Alcie couldn't help but wonder where they went? That was interesting but then again, it was Halloweentown. So, they were going to have to take care of this pumpkin? Oh boy. She hoped that she would get along with Tess or else this was going to be a pretty long assignment... The water demon approached the front desk to pick up a pumpkin and then walked back to Tess.
"Hello there! I'm Alcyone but you can call me Alcie if you want. So, what are we going to do about this?" Chuckling nervously, Alcie had no idea how to take care of a baby! She didn't even know where they came from let alone how to take care of one. This assignment seemed pretty serious and she didn't like getting poor grades so she was going to work hard. "We should take it out to do things and maybe we should set up some play dates with other parents?" She assumed that everything that they were doing with the baby was being monitored so... maybe things like this could help boost her grade.

Braum's wings wilted a little in disappointment at Cricket's blatant refusal. Then his jaw set with determination while Yaya and Junko conversed. He WOULD find a way to be rid of that girl. She could count on it. If nothing else, Braum was a crafty individual, and he would simply find another, less forthright avenue with which to ditch her. Looking over at the shy Junko, he frowned mentally. She seemed like such a nice girl, for a monster, he almost didn't want to implement the plan that had already started turning in his cranium. BUT he could NOT spend another moment with that horrible rotting corpse, and he was sure they'd connect on a closer level. Or at least he hoped. If not, he might find his conscience popping up in the rare moments of lucidity and moral righteousness he was prone to every so often, just to bug him about how he'd condemned a poor sweet girl to that wretch. Upon Yaya's insistence, his distracted eyes went back to her.
"Hm? Oh, yes, I suppose that would be a good course of action......lets go to the aviary, shall we? Archamedies hasn't eaten today, and he won't accept anything from anyone else......" he quipped, making the authoritative decision on where their little foursome was going to go. While it was true his spoiler hadn't eaten and WAS picky with its handlers, Braum mostly wanted to be in the aviary because it felt most natural and comforting for HIM. He was still feeling the aftereffects of a vision, and was having marginal trouble balancing himself or seeing straight. He was damned good at covering it up though. Wrapping his wing around Yaya in such a way he could lean his weight on her a bit, he put his hand at the small of Junko's back and gently pushed, leading her out the door. With a groan and a roll of his eyes, he tossed his head back to look at Sam.
"Are you coming, or would you rather stand here arguing all day on a decision that is obviously iron-clad?" he snapped, unable to keep the sharp staccato out of his voice. Oh how he loathed her. Usually it took something big to make him loathe someone, TRULY loathe them. With Sam it just seemed to come........naturally. Giving her her fair warning, he started leading the other two girls towards the aviary, located behind the gym.

As people began pairing up, Siddie looked around for any other unpaired students; by process of elimination and some guessing, she eventually settled on a boil across the classroom with glowing blue eyes as the most likely candidate. She sauntered over, trying to look confident. "Are you Tybalt?"
... She shot a quick, worried look over her shoulder at Sammy. Oh, this wasn't good; her friend was going to get herself in trouble at this rate, if that idiot demon provoked the zombie girl again, which Siddie figured was almost certain.

Aymet? Who the heck was Aymet? Calder looked around, craning his head as if he could see some giant sign that said "AYMET HERE!" but he had no such look. No one looked like a Aymet as far as he could gather, and he slumped in his chair for a moment. He couldn't find his partner, and what if he was ditched! What if he was a single parent left to raise the crying, shrieking, bundle left to him by the teacher? Oh, the woes he would have to face – but he would prevail. Like a Deathtime special, he would overcome hardship and raise his child and teach it all the gooey, cheesy, life lessons that all those after-scream specials liked to stuff into their programs. Oh yes!
When Aymet didn't come up, Calder rose up and went to the front, accepting his pumpkin as if he was taking a trophy, and then softly held the heavy bunch in his arms. Aww. The steam was green. He'd say it matched his eyes. The child was already taking after him!
Smiling, he went over to his desk and, still cradling the pumpkin (..it was a little heavier than he imagined), beamed at it. "If your daddy's a deadbeat, I'll take care of you on my own." He whispered, just in case Mr. I'm-not-wearing-a-name-tag was around. If Aymet wanted to visit, he'd only given him the weekends, but if he wanted to be PART of this family, he expected him to show up by the end of class. Oh, the ideas he had!

Hu, so she had been right. They were having a parenting project. Coralie seemed rather satisfied at this, even though she had no idea what those pumpkins were supposed to turn into. That was fine by her, though. If things were too predictable than that'd just be...boring. Somehow she imagined this assignment wouldn't work well with her if she lost interest, since it took a lot of care and attention. Keeping things a little up in the air would maybe keep her committed...for a little while. Somehow she hadn't really ever imagined herself practicing parenting skills.
Looking around at some of the others pairs she got mixed impressions. Some were quite fun, such as Morton and Sin. Others seemed pretty tame for the most part. Julian and Belladonna, for example, seemed like they'd be a nice caring set of "parents", nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe she was wrong though, as she only knew the witch from some of their classes. Noting who her partner was, she looked around the class to find her...but seeing as she had never met Rain before, that seemed a little pointless. So instead she shrugged and slipped off Morton's desk and went to go get her and Rain's pumpkin.
Holding it casually under one arm, she called out, unabashed, "Yo, Rain! Looks like we've got an unexpected delivery."

Um. . . . . um....well, now what was this all about? Chuppi was surprised to find herself being paired up with someone else, and she was more surprised when her partner ushered her forward to go and get the pumpkin. Chuppi knew very little about this "Emily" other then the fact that they'd been in a few classes together . . .and that Emily was the one who had left the strange orange balloon on Nuk's booth back during the the period of campaigning. Chuppi never did figure out what the item was and she still had it in her possession though it sat on the desk in her room rather than being carried about in her pocket.
"I...um....I guess I will go get the pumpkin after all."
The chupacabra waddled up to where everyone seemed to be getting their pumpkins from and took the one she assumed to be designated for her and her partner, the round orange orb almost as big as her head. The monster was thankful that she was strong as she carried it back over to her companion, bright red eyes peering over the top of the "baby".
"Um, do you...want me to . . .take care of it too?"

Rain clapped her hands together, excitement bubbling out of her mouth in short, happy bursts of laughter. A baby! They were parents! Real parents! Her mother and father were grandparents! Oh, she hoped they would be as excited as she was! It never hit her that this was an assignment, or that the baby wasn't really hers. Or that right now, the baby was just a pumpkin. She didn't know any better.
"Oh, it is so cute!" Rain practically lept out of her seat to join Coralie. "Is it a boy or a girl, do you know? What shall we name it? Oh, yeah, I'm Rain. Rain Rottingham." She reached out a hand to rub the pumpkin. "That's a good baby," she whispered to it.
In the back of her head, she wondered if she was the mother or father. Could girls even be dads? Did it really matter one way or another? She and this girl had a baby together. "I should at least learn your name, since we have just had a baby together."
