Vahn Without even missing a beat, as soon as Lucined had said her last word, Vahn spoke up. "Can you help me find someone?" "Finding things is my specialty," Yaits said, blowing on well manicured nails and rubbing them against his coat, "That would be no problem, just tell me who it is that you're looking for and you'll have more assistance than you could ever imagine."

Her smile stayed, maybe she knitted her brows ever so slightly. But once again, the woman only listened.
It wasn't that he didn't understand Vahn. Quite the contrary. However, 'alliances' like this always brought this disgusting, bitter taste with them...

"His name is Victor Fah."
Yellowed eyes seemed to grow heavy with the burden of the name, even as his fingers clutched tighter at the linen. "And he's my brother."

Vahn Kyonuske "His name is Victor Fah." Yellowed eyes seemed to grow heavy with the burden of the name, even as his fingers clutched tighter at the linen. "And he's my brother." ((I read Victor's profile, for the third time, so we can assume you filled me in or will do so on all the important details of physical features and such, though not so much the history, because that would be a more sensitive matter to your character. That will save us some posts.))"You will have my assistance," Yaits said, despite the feeling that this search would stretch his resources, "I already have eyes throughout much of Gaia, if anyone matching his description is found, you will be among the first to know."Yaits pulled out a small cell cell phone, pinching it between his middle and index fingers, and left it on the dresser, "A direct link to my office, feel free to contact me any time, I'll make myself available more often than not. I may have a favor to ask of you as well, but that can be reserved for a later date. For now, I simply ask that you get well."Next he left a platinum pin beside it, "And please accept this pin as a token of Yaits Corps gratitude for helping to save Latent."The preacher excused himself, Yaits lingered for a moment, bowed politely, and went to leave but stood at the door with his back turned. "Your sword will be here within the hour," Yaits said, "Do be more careful with it from now on."And with those parting words, Yaits walked out of the ICU with a brisk step.

"Nice day to you, too, Sir," Lucind waved overly friendly and snorted quietly when she couldn't hear the men's steps outside the room anymore.
"Ahh, you know people like him always claim their payback when you least expect it." The Half-Siren stepped at the end of the bed.
"But I shouldn't be petty about that, right? If he can really find him..." She rubbed her hands, looking forward to the less heavy dressing Denise had promised her - then she would finally be able to actually use her hands, even if she still was going to get the bandages changed every few days. "For somehow, it was also my fault Victor could...managed to..." Her mouth twitched and you could see her jaw muscles working. Also, it occured to her again that this was the first time after the events in the desert they got the chance to talk.

(Please continue your conversation as I am interested in reading it. But I'm going to to move Yaits ahead a few days as I'm trying to speed my plot movement a little)
~3 days later~
After receiving the reports on the all the blood samples, it seemed to Yarneth that a great deal of progress had been made in the experimentation.
It was now confirmed that Lucind was at least half Siren, through blood testing. Though the blood was nothing remarkable, like Vahn's, it could still be used for cloning, and possibly, if his genius scientist had a chance to play around, create a serum that would simulate siren powers. Imagining the preacher, who already had charisma beyond anything natural, imbued with such powers, almost made him drool. The funny thing about the preacher, he was still getting over the shock that someone said something to him with even a hint that they disagreed, but he wasn't upset, he was thrilled, Yarneth wondered if the idiot wasn't in love because of it. Mortal fool, Yarneth thought, he could have had the world at his grasp long before I awoke if he didn't despise his own ability.
The virus found in Joseph Brown would be very useful if imbued in his new line of mass produced soldiers, of course, that project was no where near finished yet, but he had ways of hastening the time table. But, as the time drew near for Melissa to return, his thoughts drifted away from long term plans.
The grand lobby of Yaits headquaters, a modern decor area stretching almost half a football field in length and diameter, was filled with pink, purple, and red balloons. In one corner was a hired orchestra, which played classical concertos in the background. The more elite employees of the Yaits corporation were invited for a high class suit and tie affair, and Yaits himself was dressed to the nine. At every sitting area was a refreshment table, and people stood around talking or else took seats in the plush grey sofa's that matched the flooor and walls for the most part. Receptionists still attended all the help counters, in case anyone needed information. Only three journalist were invited, and rarely were they allowed to take pictures.
Evan White was expected to join the party, but even if he choose not to visit personally, someone from Raven Industries would be attending, has it was soon time for Melissa to come to her new home.

And soon enough...
A man wearing mostly black entered the building. His sportsbike was outside, parked in the nearby lot. Next to him was a seemingly young girl, only about age eight. It had been three days now, and Evan White had delivered on his promise. However, he wasn't without a backup plan, just in case things went shitty.
Hidden within the crowd, under optic camoflauge, were members of none other than R.I.O.T.'s first division, the Black Ops. Just in case anything stupid happened, they'd go into action. And even then, someone else from Raven Industries was here. He was hidden in plain sight, though; the blonde from R.I.O.T. Three. Hearing that there was a party going on, he figured that it'd be best if he attended. Without an invitation, of course.
The fact that the CEO was in the building gave him confidence. This'd be the chance he needed to get as much information as he could about what he had suspected. And what was he posing as? A waiter. It was the most simple position to infiltrate, not to mention good for one with excellent hearing.
So he was nice, friendly, helpful. Just someone doing his job- in more ways than one. The both of them, Evan and his subordinate, thought the same thing unwittingly.
Let's do this.

"It doesn't matter. So long as I stop Victor."
He stared towards the direction of the window, staring at the foreign city.
"You shouldn't be dwelling on things that can't be changed Lucind...the fact that you saved Sierra is enough for me to trust you..."
He stared down at his lap, left hand massagin his right wrist. "I don't even know if I'll ever be able to use this arm the same way again...my body can't keep up with me anymore...which means I don't have much time."

Outside in the parking lot, before they even entered, Melissa, despite her effort to remain strong and ladylike, had tears streming down her cheeks, and tried to wipe them off with her dress sleeve when she thought no one was looking. She was shaking a little bit, but she knew the nature of the situation and what she had to do. Even that Yaits was claiming to be her father, and an entire homecoming was nothing more than a pretense built around a lie. She had to find out if there was anything left of Sallea in this Yaits character, anything at all, and of course, she had many unanswerd questions that she would not hesitate to ask once she got the chance.
"I'm nothing more than a pawn," she muttered under her breath.
If he offered it, she would take Evan's hand, she was losing a friend today and going into the custody of a character that probably didn't have her best interest in mind, and even if he did was proving to be more of a lying, manipulative, creep every day, and she knew it. But if there was the smallest chance of changing the situation for the better, she would take it.
"I'm going to miss you," she said pitifully, "I want to try something and see what he does, it's nothing dangerous, but I want to test his reaction. Please play along. I figure if he wants a little girl, then I can act like a little girl and behave a bit.... stand-offish, at first. I'm going to cling to you until the last minute, if that's okay?"

"I don't even know if I'll ever be able to use this arm the same way again...my body can't keep up with me anymore...which means I don't have much time." She sighed. " You see, it's not only your crusade any longer. I want to compensate for my failure, nevertheless - but most important, there're people to be protected...or souls, speaking from my point of view." Lucind pulled the comfortable chair they had brought her last night over to the bed and sat down. "By the way, I guess I've got to thank you for saving my life - mainly because thanking a weapon would be weird," she lightly grinned. "Did some research and...well, I'm sure you felt this Yaits lied concerning your sword. After all I found out I'm pretty sure the fang preserved me from being grilled head to toe. However...the next weeks will be unnerving." She grimaced. "Trying to restore or reconstruct lost memories and stuff like that. Can't be sure everything I recall really happened. Also...I won't get rid of the feeling I wanted to tell you something. Something related to the ruins... You know, I spoke with that boy...uhm...Ezekiel - he showed me things, to be precise. Thus I have a vague idea of what you mean when you say your body can't keep up with you anymore." Crossing her legs and leaning back, the Half-Siren didn't look like something who nearly died some days ago while speaking with her low, calm voice.

There was a silence that dragged on in the room, even as she spoke her last statement.
His left eye seemed to grow distant in gaze, even as his right slightly bulged.
"What did he show you?"
His voice had grown throaty and his heart rate had substantially increased. There were barely any records kept about his past, let alone people that could recall it.... Knowledge was after all, a deadly weapon...

She felt and saw his discomfort her comment had caused but just yawned softly and rubbed her eyes.
"Your past. That is, yours and your brother's. - But like I said, can't be sure at the moment the data's complete. Thinking about it...there're some things which don't make sense...gaps I should be able to fill by myself."
The day of Latent being under attack was simply lost, also the day before was likely to be fully erased in her brain. But things of the past, the last months or years usually weren't permanently or irrevocably damaged.

"Whatever..."
He dismissed it aside, before leaning up further in the bed. His left hand gripped around his right arm tenderly, as he felt it protest the sudden movement.
"We.. need to get out of here after we get our stuff. I have to find Sunstrike first."

"Melissa..."
He closed his eyes and sighed to himself. Wonderful... so this was what keeping a promise was. He promised her that he'd give her a chance to talk to the man. He knew the b*****d was up to no good. Evan had changed the orders recently- there were no longer any traces of Yaits. That said, the orders were to find and exploit any evidence against Yaits Corp., providing him with all data relative to said illegal and illicit projects.
From the reports he had gotten from his contacts, the man within this building was getting ready for a war. More precisely, a coup d'etat.
And he was going to be in the middle of it, starting now.
The promises I make these days...
"Maybe so. In the end, all of mankind are pawns, really. This little campaign of his is proof. But a pawn can be promoted if one makes it to the other side of the board. That said, I'll let you try your little something. I refuse to let Yarneth turn the world into his personal chess board."
As he walked forward, calm and composed, he said quite possibly one of the most truthful statements that he'd be saying that night. The rest of it would be acting.
"When this is over, I may have to kill him. He's done too much harm to be kept alive. I don't think I can even seal him away."

"So you don't wanna be a good boy and wait three more days like the doctor said?" With a weak grin on her lips she stared at him, then stood up, stuffing her mummy hands into the robe's pockets.
"Suggestion. I just go to see Denise and get my bandages changed and then see if I can find us something to dress. I'm sure the ladies would be delighted to see you running around in a hospital gown, but I'd like to have something different from a bathrobe. So, if you can fight your impatience for another hour...
Also, I can organize the fastest way back to Latent - or wherever you wanna head first. Maybe Yaits gives us one of his helicopters: we're local heros, after all," she ended with a mocking undertone.
