I ɱαӌ ϵηʠ ʊҏ ʄαɩʃɩηɠ ●●●●●●●●●●●●●●● Alec, having some serious withdrawl issues already, didn't believe Heidi. And when Shane asked him what made him happy, right off the back, he said one thing: "Heidi..." Then another, "Love." He turned to Shane and took a deep, shaky breath, blinking his thick eeylashes and rubbing his eyes with his hands. He was upset- mostly with himself for being such an a**, but partially at Shane for taking it all away, and also he was pretty pissed at Heidi for just waltzing over and walking away with the enemy. He tousled his dark hair once, his face masked from all emotions, and kept walking towards the road. He refused to stay here- the smell was overwhelming. He refused to go with Heidi- she'd made her choice. He just wanted to be alone, or at least with someone who listened. Then he realized he could talk to the insomniac boy! Tony? Tomy? T... Todd! He turned around, looking for him, and saw he was with his counselor. Alec sighed softly. He stuffed his hands back into his pockets and began looking for his own counselor... Whose name escaped him... ●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●

Anyone who makes no mistakes......Is not trying HARD ENOUGH   Shane nodded and swallowed when Alec said Heidi. "RIght, okay. Do you draw? Play guitar or something? You could, whenever you feel like you need a drink. Do something else you enjoy doing instead." Shane suggested, "Whatever it is, if you don't want to talk to a girl. I'm open." he offered before following Heidi. Shane nodded at Heidi's words. "I know" he murmurred. His eyes shot up to look at Heidi. Shane slowly shook his head. "I figured as much. It always happens. No matter what I do. I always make everything worse.
In high school, if someone wanted something to be made worse. The'd always look at me. It's always happened. I can never make something right. No matter how hard I try" He said quietly. Shane again, didn't flinch when she punched him. "Drinking isn't fool proof though." He looked at Heidi again. "I completely understand. You might think I don't But hey, it wasn't that far back when I drank... Or was drink.... I understand." he finished. Shane's thoughts went back to when she kissed Alec for a few seconds. ♫Heidi stood there and crossed her arms. She wasn't mad anymore but she was still upset. She'd rather be out here with Alec than with Shane right now, but she had to get everything straightened out. "You counselors are just idiots. Do you think that just because you burn everything, that it's going to make it all better? Because it won't. It's just going to blow up in your faces. We don't want to be changed and we don't want help. You keep talking to us like we don't know anything. We know what we're doing and we know why we're doing it!" she said as she scuffed her foot against the ground and shook her head. "And I can't stand seeing Alec like that. I don't even know what I can do to help him." she asked as a tear fell from her face. She wiped her eyes quickly and looked at Shane again. "You're not making this easier for me either. Everytime I think things are finally ok, you counselors do something to ruin it all over again. I thought I finally reached out to Alec but I don't know. And then there's you. There's time when I absolutely don't hate you but then you go and do that!" she said referring to the fire.
She shook her head and kicked at a tree in frustration. "I can't deal with this Shane! I can't keep switching back and forth on whether I like you or hate you! I shouldn't even like you in the first place! I just want Alec and for you to be my friend. But if you want to at least try to be friends you're going to have to try and just trust me. And you have to stop constantly pissing me off." she said as she took a deep breath to calm herself down. "Now you think about that ok. I'm going back." she said as she picked up some mushrooms by the tree. She could tell that these mushrooms would be able to get anyone high and though they might not be that strong, they should be enough for Alec. She put them in her pocket and jogged past Shane to head back into the camp. She noticed Alec wasn't by the firepit anymore and she called out for him, hoping he was ok.

Not in the way most people would think. But you have." Shane paused, he didn't exactly believe her when she said there were times when she didn't hate him. "Heidi, I- the fire wasn't my idea. That decision was made while I was out getting food. If it was my choice, I never would've done it that way." He repeating what he told Alec. "I know what it feels--- okay you know what? I don't even know why I'm trying to act like a therapist." he gave a shudder. "But It honestly wasn't my idea."Shane watched as she kicked the tree. He looked down for a bit. "I'm sorry." He looked up. "You're not exactly making it easy to trust you. You deliberately go against everything Casey says. You intentionally do the exact opposite of what she tells you half the time. But... if you're going to try, then so will I" Shane said softly. "I don't try to piss you off or make you angry. It just happens. And it always seems to be me. I don't know why Heidi. But it's always me. I don't do it on purpose" He called as she walked away. Shane sighed and leaned against a tree. See Shane, I told you. She doesn't like you." he told himself when he was sure no one was there. "Just suck it up and deal with it. It's not the first time you've been rejected." he reasoned with himself. ♫Heidi had heard everything Shane said and she knew she couldn't stay mad at him. No matter how hard she tried. And that hurt her more. She cared for him but not like she cared for Alec. She wasn't sure what she felt for Shane but she knew it was strong. But she had to be there for Alec. To help him because she promised herself that she would do whatever she could to make things right for him. She then saw Shane by her side again and listened to him explain where he last saw Alec. She nodded and smiled softly, the first true smile she had since she came here. "Thanks. And it might be best if I find him alone. He might just hit you again and I wouldn't want that." she said with a light chuckle as she shook her head. She then remembered what he said about the way she treated Casey. She rolled her eyes and decided he deserved to know that. "The only reason I'm such a b***h to Casey is because she needs to realize she can't control and help everyone in the world. And that not everyone is going to like her." she said before she looked around. She knew it was safe since there wasn't many people around and that Alec wasn't anywhere near them. She hugged Shane tightly but quickly before running off to go find Alec.

"Maybe, I mean, he didn't hit me when I walked after him. But he is a little unpredictable." Shane smile slightly and rubbed his jaw. "I've uh, learned that the harder way" he joked lightly. "Be careful" he called softly, hoping she heard him. It was quiet, because the last thing he expected was for her to hug him. It was quick, but it was good enough for him. Shane smiled and turned to go to the firepit. He thought for a moment on how to make the smell, less, unbearable. Shane lit up when he remembered how to lessen the smoke. He jogged to the main cabin place and got some charcoal. He walked back and carefully tossed some into the firepit to make it smoke less. Shane sighed and sat down, he just couldn't remember what to do about the smell. He glanced over at Casey, he wanted to attempt to tell her to go a bit easier on the teens. She was passionate, which is good, but she was coming on a bit strong. And it probably rubbed off on me he joked to himself. X X X X X X X X XxTrust your heart, let fate d e c i d e Casey groaned and held her head in her hands. Why didn't she realize what the effects that burning drugs, alcohol, and toxins would take? Coughing, her brain scrambled as she tried to figure out what to do. It shouldn't be left going, but should she put it out, or what?! Casey ran her hands through her coffee brown hair, frustrated. Deciding to ignore that current problem, she picked up the army knife. She looked it over, then loked at Todd. Her hand tingled from where it touched Todd's own cold, shaky neck. She could practically feel the fear that came from him. Taking a deep breath, she set the knife beside her and swung her legs around, sitting so that she could look Todd in the face. She put her hands behind her, planting them on the ground and leaning back on them. Her ice blue gaze held Todd's with a silent reassurance. She smiled at him, a gentle, reassuring smile that could calm his nerves if he let it. "Todd, thanks for telling me that. I really do want to help, truly, I do. I'll try to make Heidi, Gail, and Alec understand, but they think it's more fun to anger me. It's just hard, y'know? Anyway. So, is that why you're so afraid to rest? Is that why you find energy drinks the only way to help with your problem?" Casey prodded gently. She didn't want to push too hard. It was going to be a shaky relationship with this one. It sure was. So, Casey had to take it slow andearn Todd's trust patiently, and burning his escape probably wasn't the best idea. Casey winced inwardly. Those teens would probably kill her in her sleep. Glancing around, she didn't see Nikki or Jake. Or Gail, for that matter. Turning her attention back to Todd, she crossed her feet and fiddled with his knife, tuning it over and over beside her. She looked at his hands and narrowed her eyes. "Do you want something for those cuts? I can get you some bandages, if you want," Casey offered, her voice calm but warm. She reached up and tightened her ponytail, looking up through the green leaves at the setting sun. She started to her feet, her athletic body moving gracefully. The pizza was warm in the oven, and they'd be doing movies and get acquainted activities after dinner. Casey smiled; there'd also be time for songs. One tradition Casey always had was to sing one song to the group on her guitar to start the camp out. Other counselors and kids could do so as well, but Casey halfway suspected they'd ruin her guitar. There were a lot of activities planned. Swimming, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, scavenger hunts, and one on one time with couselors. But Shane? Casey frowned inwardly at the thought of him. He was chasing after Heidi like a love crazed idiot. He had to be firm with her, or Casey would have to think about letting him go. He wasn't doing his job. His head was bobbing from side to side and his leds were swinging back and forth- it was like he was a child again. He had a smile on his face, but it was pained and fake. His eyes were soft, but they had a crazed pain hidden behind light blue pools that led to his soul. ♫Heidi heard Alec singing and she followed the sound of his voice to the camp sign. She saw him sitting on top of the sign and she looked up at him. She smiled and waved gently. "What are you doing way up there love? Don't you want to see what I found?" she asked as she put her hands in her pockets. She pulled out the mushrooms she had found and she held them up for him to see. "They're not as strong as your drugs, but I thought they'd be enough for now until we smuggled in some more. That is if I can smuggle in more." she said with a wink and a giggle, trying to cheer him up some. Her eyes showed concern and she almost seemed helpless. "You have to come down if you want them though." she said. She hoped he would come down and that he would talk to her. She knew he was upset about losing his escape, but she somehow felt like he was mad at her too. She couldn't stand seeing him like this and she wanted to make everything ok.

It's not that the drug-addicted boy didn't want them, he needed them, but... something told him he couldn't take them. Slowly and hesitantly, Alec dropped down from the sign, staggering slightly. He brushed a dark lock of chocolate hair from his shining eyes, staying far enough away from Heidi. He folded his bare arms over his bronzed chest. "I just think time away from everyone and everything, and this horrid smell, might clear my head. Shane had a point, we probably should stop with the drugs and s**t, it's killing us..." He bit his lip, slightly nervous, then continued, "But I do know another way to have fun- you'll just have to promise me that you'll n-..." He just won't leave me alone- day and night he pesters me... touches me... as if he was tsill alive. And I hear my mama's voice, too. She always says 'Why didn't you help your mother?' and s**t like that," the dark-haired teen mumbled, tacking on a sigh after he finished. He suddenly felt self-concious when she looked at his bloodied hands and slowly hid them behind his back, until she spoke. "Um, no. I think I'll be okay," he said softly, not taking her hand as he, too, stood. He was too afraid he'd get blood on her... That was the first time Todd took a chance to really get a good look at his counselor. She was pretty, he'd give her that, but she had a hard side... She'd need to lighten up if she really wanted to get to know the insomniac. The teen brushed a lock of dark hair out of his eyes, casting his dark pools down to peer at the ground.
Todd would glance at the fire every now and again, longing for something to keep him awake, but he'd just do it the old-fashioned way. Unless, of course, Casey figured out a way to get the voices in his heads to go away... along with the sudden chills he'd feel... Goosebumps rose on Todd's arms and the back of his neck, sending a shiver down his spine. He folded his arms tightly against his chest, waiting for Casey's order. Then, his stomach betrayed him and growled loudly. "Heh... When's dinner? I'm starved!" he chirped, his dark eyes closed and a genuine smile on his tilted head. His little charm act again... The innocent smile, tilted head... But, thise time, he didn't think of doing the puppy-dog eyes. Just... slipped his mind. ♫Heidi slolwy and carefully approached Alec, putting the mushrooms in her pocket. She smiled at him and nodded. "Alec, I'll do anything I can to help you. I want you to be happy. Don't be afraid to ask me for favors. And if you want to stop doing drugs and drinking, well then I support you. It's just going to be a lot harder then you think. But I really am willing to try." she said as she held her hand out to him. "You can trust me Alec. You know you can. I'm here for you and nothing's going to change that." she said confidently as her eyes softened a bit. She wasn't afraid to tell him how she felt and she wasn't afraid of the consequences anymore. And she knew she was taking a big step by trying to give up alcohol. But she meant what she said. She would do anything for him and she wanted to support him. If this helped in anyway then she would gladly do it. The small blonde hoped he'd take her hand and that they could simply forget their troubles. Just forget everything that's going wrong and have fun like he said. The thought only brightened her smile.

She ran a hand through her ponytail, her long coffee colored hair falling lightly over her shoulders. Her lime green headband that set her hair's color off sooo well was slipping down Casey's head. She quickly pulled it off and pushed it back on, looking as if it hadn't moved. It still looked pretty darn perfect. Casey glanced back at the fire, gnawing on her lip. Probably wasn't the best idea. Exhaling deeply, she brought her ice blue eyes back to Todd. She smiled in amusement at his belly growl. Checking her wrist watch, her eyes widened at the time. "Oh, damn! Geez, I didn't know it was that late. The sun tricks you, y'know?" Casey laughed, not even noticing the swear word she'd said. She said crap and damn not a whole lot, but that was to the extent of her swear words. She smiled once more at Todd, scuffing the leaves with her sneaker. "We're having pizza and soda tonight. I have to go find the others, though. It's been way longer than ten minutes," Casey explained, starting to walk as she talked. She smiled as she was turned, so Todd couldn't see it. She had a feeling he'd like her favorite mode of transportation. She walked over to a fair sized garage beside the counselors' cabin, and grabbed a key from her armband. She unlocked it and put the key back, and in it's place took two other ones. She stepped inside and flipped on some lights, which flooded the place. Most of the garage had trash bins, bags, and garden tools, but in the far corner sat four quads, or four wheelers. There was one for each counselor, since each four wheeler carried two. Since Casey was head counselor, the counselors would still have to ask for the key. But they'd have to earn her trust, first. Jake and Nikki seemed to be alright, but Casey would worry about Shane. He let Heidi push him around. Casey grinned over her shoulder and tossed a key to Todd, patting the handlebars of the first quad. She then swung her leg over the second one, put the key into the ignition, and it roared to life. She revved the engine once, then let the RPMs fall, letting it quiet down. Raising her voice so she could be heard over the motors of the four wheelers, she called out to Todd. "C'mon! Before we eat, we have to get the others, and this is way faster than walking. Easy on the clutch and keep it semi slow. I don't want to have to be picking you up in pieces if it gets out of your control," Casey said with a wink. She was gently teasing Todd, hoping to get him to warm up to her. Slowly he was learning to trust her, and she to trust him. But on the quads, they'd stick together. Slowly, Casey rolled her quad out of the garage, flipping open her cell phone to speed dial Jake. Once it was ringing, she put it to her ear. "Hello?" Jake answered, his voice staticy. "It's way past ten minutes. We're coming to pick you guys up, then we're going to find Alec, Heidi, and Shane. They disappeared. Again," Casey explained, rolling her eyes as she explained aout Alec, Heidi, and Shane. "'Kay. We'll meet you halfway." With that, Jake and Casye clicked their phones shut. Casey slipped the phone into her back pocket, making sure it wouldn't fall out.
