As they walked and the the number of trees slowly grew, Hitomi glanced above her at the canopy of leaves and branches. The canopy allowed for the sun's rays to peek through, illuminating random spots of land with rays of light. When the reached a small clearing, Hitomi spun on her heels and faced Matsu. "Welcome to Konoha's forests! On my left, you will get to see the very exciting and exotic oak tree! And on my right, you might be lucky enough to spot the species known as rabbits!" She grinned, extending her arms in the respective directions for emphasis. "Just kidding. So," The girl turned away from him, walked away until she was about ten feet away, and turned back to face him. "Do you want it to be a spar, or a fight? A spar isn't as serious as a fight. I don't really mind either way."

Matsu followed Hitomi deeper into the forest, hearing the calls of the forest and feeling the warm sunlight through spots in the canopy of the treetops. It was very peaceful, not at all silent like Snow Country but alive in a very subtle way. Hitomi then stopped, having chosen a good spot, she turned and proceeded to showcase the forest's 'tourist attractions'. Matsu laughed and nodded. "Yeah, that oak tree is definitely one in a million." He said sarcastically. Hitomi then turned and got some space between them, asking Matsu how far he wanted to go. "Better take it easy, for now." Matsu said putting his hands up as a gesture of slowing the pace. "I wouldn't want either of us to get hurt just from a battle between allies." He smiled. The truth was that Matsu was reluctant to engage Hitomi. Matsu was obedient to orders but he did have his weaknesses, flaws that although seemingly minute, affected Matsu in many ways.

"I agree, I really don't feel like going to the hospital," she chuckled before she shifted her feet so they were shoulder-width apart, and she was facing him fully, her light brown eyes now completely cautious and observant. She lifted her arm and placed her hand on the hilt of her sword, Museigen. "Shall we start? No use dawdling with small talk. You can have the first move." She nodded once to him and tensed. However serious she seemed to be, her eyes still seemed to dance with mirth and mischief. 'It would be polite to let him have the first move, wouldn't it? But also very useful.' She briefly went over a list of techniques she knew before settling on a few that wouldn't be such a harm to their surroundings. She was dreadfully afraid that she would need to pay for any land damage, and she was already short on money as it was.

Matsu smiled and closed his eyes as Hitomi began to speak. He was aware of the Genjutsu way and hoped that he wasn't already under her spell. Several hand signs flashed to reveal a heavy mist. Kirigakure no Jutsu [ Hidden Mist Technique ] It began to cover the area and hide all but what stood two feet before the eyes. "Marco." Matsu mused before he stepped away from where he was and took cover behind a tree. He put up a single hand sign but stopped. Matsu hesitated for a moment, remembering what would come about with every activation of his Kekkei Genkai. He overcame his doubt and his eyes suddenly became fiercely defined. A look of hostility came over his eyes although Matsu had no intention of causing harm on Hitomi. Suddenly, the mist seemed to disappear under the sight of the Byakugan. Matsu then stood still where he was, watching Hitomi for a moment, admiring her before putting his hands together in a few hand signs again. Suddenly, three clones of himself separated from him and slowly began to move away from him to other trees for cover. Matsu then took hold of the tree, slowly climbing the trunk with both hands and feet. His movement was slow as to not to make a sound, climbing the tree trunk using chakra upon his feet and hands. While Matsu slowly ascended up the tree, Matsu's clones began to spread around Hitomi, trying to surround her. Since they were not physical clones, they did not make a sound for their feet never physically touched their surroundings.

Mist began obstructing Hitomi's vision, to her slight annoyance. "Tch." Her eyes narrowed and she began to turn in one place, timing it so it would be slow enough to fend off dizziness yet quick enough to assure herself that he wasn't behind her, waiting to strike. The word he had spoken before he disappeared from her sight had brought a grin to her face, which contradicted her now distant and calculating gaze. 'Hyuuga, most likely to use Byakugan. So, he can see me but I can't see him, hm...' With her eyes now closed, her steady rotation came to a stop. 'I've never fought it before...Well, time to see what it's about.' Her hands quickly flashed through a small series of hand seals and focused her chakra. Almost instantly, a large group of crows appeared and flew above the trees, while others dived under the canopy and flew around Hitomi. 'Polo,' she thought, her expression now showing amusement. She continued to stand still while more and more crows flew around her, which quickly brought about a black atmosphere. The cawing was almost deafening, but Hitomi did her best to block it out of her mind and concentrate. Only when the number of crows around her had grown considerably did she slowly walk a few feet to her left and unsheathe her sword, Museigen. Hopefully, the constant flapping of the crows' wings would slowly lift the mist. 'Now, if I wanted to attack from somewhere unexpected, which direction would I go for?' Of course, she wasn't referring to herself, she was attempting to put herself in Matsu's shoes and try to pinpoint the location of his strike.

Matsu looked to Hitomi from time to time until he realized that she was now up to something. He could see her summon her chakra into a jutsu and many crows began to scatter about her. Matsu watched as hundreds of crows frenzied around Hitmoi as if she was a bowl of feed. Matsu could only get glimpses of Hitomi since the crows' chakra networks, although primitive, blended in a tornado around her, blocking his view. Matsu smiled and nodded. She knows what she's doing. He felt himself a bit more impressed by the Jounin every second. Matsu did notice she was moving, however. The three Matsu clones had finally surrounded her and began to move in. Matsu, standing horizontally on the tree, performed several handsigns. He then jumped off the tree and just as he looked like he was about to land, he went through the ground! Matsu traveled through the ground, not making a sound or disturbance on the surface thanks to the nature of the jutsu. He headed to the center of the crow tornado and burst out of the ground, just behind Hitomi. As he emerged, he would bar his right arm across her neck and his left arm would hold back her left arm. His arm across her neck wouldn't be forceful at all but more like an embrace. Matsu would then proceed to whisper. "I win!" If Hitomi choose to cease then and there.

Hitomi narrowed her eyes as she heard noise behind her, signaling that Matsu had risen from the ground. However, despite her instinct to run, she stood still as he clutched her arm and held his other arm against her neck. His whispered words brought a smirk to her lips, though it disappeared as quickly as it had come. If her thoughts weren't fully occupied by strategies, Hitomi would definitely have been blushing. However, the many jutsu and possible plans rushing through her mind prevented her from replying, and only when she realized she wouldn't be able to do any hand seals did she curse softly under her breath. He's good, it's to be expected...Great, I was hoping I didn't have to use that...Oh well.' The girl allowed the crows to fly around them, yet not as close as they were before. Many of them settled on the tree branches around them, making the trees seem as if they and their leaves had turned black, while a few still flew above them in continuous circles. She stood still for a moment more, glad that the man couldn't see her face at that moment as her gray-brown eyes slowly bled to red. She turned her head half-way to meet Matsu's gaze, grinning with eyes closed, the action making her bangs shade her eyes, giving the girl a sly and sinister appearance. Not a moment later though, she opened her eyes and unleashed a blaring, dark green light which would most likely stun him, given the close proximity. At the exact moment the light was released, the girl would take advantage of the fact that he had left her right hand, which held Museigen, free and quickly bring the blade's tip against the right side of his torso, pressured enough so it would pierce his clothes but light enough so it wouldn't break skin. She would then add a bit of lightning chakra to it which would serve to further state her position. "If you move, my blade can pierce you at any given moment. A draw...how quaint." She smiled but made sure to keep her tone light, so Matsu would know that she wasn't actually being serious. Nonetheless, she would keep herself alert for the slightest of movements from the man behind her while also focusing on the grip he had over her left arm.

Matsu feeling victorious, felt Hitomi suddenly turn in his arms. She faced him, grinning with eyes closed. Matsu could then feel his face become warmer as he realized how close she was. Suddenly, her eyes opened, revealing a reddened Kekkei Genkai. Matsu recognized it immediately and in that second, he felt fear and panic. The Sakkakugan It was only for that second, however, that he had felt stunned by her eyes that green light flashed from them and seemed to blind Matsu, forcing his Byakugan into dormancy. There was then a swift motion, hidden by the sudden light, and Matsu could feel a point at his side. Still shocked by the revealing of the Sakkakugan, Matsu looked down to his right side, Hitomi's blade so close that he could almost feel it's sharp point prodding him. "It looks like we are more different than I thought." Matsu said, looking back to Hitomi, trying to regain his calm and content vibe. He knew of his natural weakness to Genjutsu as a Taijutsu shinobi but to encounter one with his genetic bane was suddenly a tough pill to swallow. Matsu's instincts told him to go for a Rotation but Matsu had been shaken from his focus and perhaps his will to continue the spar. He let go of Hitomi and looked to ground, stepping back to give some space. Nodding, he complimented her ability. "Very good. You had an ace up you're sleeve. I never saw it coming." Matsu rubbed the back of his head, glancing up at the kunoichi but unable to meet her gaze.

The girl clenched her hands and teeth, her composure becoming stiff. 'There it is again...' When Matsu had let her go, the girl immediately deactivated her eyes, resisting the urge to clutch her head in frustration, shout, do something, but instead she chose to put up her mask again. With the previous raging emotions and fears buried once again, she smiled and nodded, but appeared to be concerned for a moment. "Even so, you could have kept going! But I suppose, with our strengths and weaknesses, it would pretty much be a draw..." She sighed and sheathed her sword before outstretching her right hand towards him, the universal sign of wanting a handshake. "But nonetheless, you shouldn't give up. Even if it's not about the fight, don't give up." Contrary to her words, Hitomi's thoughts were fixed on one single word, repeating over and over again like a broken tape recorder. 'Different, different...' She clenched her left hand but continued to hold the smile, making sure it wasn't strained and that it reached her eyes.

As Matsu listened to what it was that Hitomi said, he looked up to see her tense. He looked aside, knowing that she had seen his reaction. Matsu couldn't stand being the reason for Hitomi's discomfort. He looked up at her hand, outstretched for a handshake and took it. She seemed to see something in Matsu, maybe what haunted him could be seen by those red eyes of hers. Matsu took Hitomi's hand in both of his and his eyes were true to see into Hitomi's. Although she smiled, her eyes said something else, this was something that Matsu could see without his Byakugan. "What are you fighting against?" He asked her inquiringly.

Hitomi dropped her fake smile when Matsu had taken her hand and replaced it with a real one, however small it might have been. She dismissed the crow technique and they all immediately disappeared in a plume of smoke, leaving them in silence once again. She was slightly angered at first, taking his change as some kind of pity, but a part of her knew that was definitely something else. However, she wasn't sure if she wanted to know. What was the point, if she was a hypocrite to herself? Once he asked the question though, the girl brought up all the mental barriers she had and shook her head slowly, still maintaining the smile. Instead of replying, she answered with another question. "No, what are you fighting against?"

Alex walked into the forest and sat down, she had sometime to relax and just make sure that she made more paper. She released into the air the paper that she had 'Now, lets speed this process...' she pointed to a small tree and the paper began to slice the small tree 'If I can make this into a pulp then I'll be set.' She sat down on the ground and continued to channel chakra into the paper to steady the process. She knew that this was going to take alot of effort on her part but she thought that it would be worth it. When she first discovered that she had the ability to manipulate paper, she heard from one of her brothers that there was a technique that would nearly cause the world to end...she always thought about doing that technique...but that would require more paper then she had. She meditated on that thought for the time being, praticed handsigns...all the while creating more paper.

Matsu watched as Hitomi smiled, a flash of sincerity and perhaps something else. She had then let go of the Crows that surrounded them and they blew up into white smoke. Matsu's question seemed to miss and didn't didn't produce an answer. Hitomi deflected it under a shield of asking him the same question. Matsu couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed. He thought that perhaps it hadn't been a question to ask so easily. They had just met, after all, and Matsu was not even a shinobi under the same emblem. Deciding to let it be, Matsu began to smile, the corners of his mouth slowly rising as a deviant expression followed. "I'm fighting...you!" Matsu looked like he was struggling not to laugh but moved his hands up her arm until he had a hold of her arm. He quickly then spun, slinging Hitomi's arm over his shoulder and pulled gently on it so that Hitomi would be thrown off balance and would have no choice but to fall over Matsu and to the floor in front of him.

She should have done something the moment she saw his smile, but her curiousity got the best of her. Hitomi shouted in surprise and could do nothing but watch as he spun her, and she watched with horror as she was about to fal- 'Oh no he did not!' With all previous troubling thoughts forgotten, and with a slight shift in her right foot, she tensed her legs on instinct, giving her some support as her arm was pulled. A sharp spike of anger and embarrassment momentarily fueled her strength and as he pulled her arm, Hitomi also pulled back sharply, the sudden movement causing her to stumble away from him. "Y-you, you..." She didn't even know what to call him! Her face flushed red with embarrassment and she huffed, crossing her arms. 'An experienced Akira user should NEVER be caught off balance!' The girl reminded herself, all the while glaring daggers at Matsu with her arms crossed and a serious expression, all the while trying her hardest not to break out into a wide grin, which must have made her look a bit strange overall. "Up until now, I had about twenty different chances to put you in a genjutsu, so you better be thankful!" She pointed at him threateningly, warning him that she would definitely get him back somehow. And yet...Hitomi made a mental note to avoid casting illusions for a while, at least until she was sure it was safe for herself and her mind.
