BIO:

Stephanie's parents knew that they would not always be there to care for the only basket they were ever able to raise to foalhood. They wanted to give her a good name, a strong name, one that would serve her, would protect her even when they no longer could. Thinking their foal would be male, they chose to call him King Stephen, a regal and royal name to make him strong. But when she popped out, all perky and clearly female, her name was changed on the spot to Queen Stephanie, which they soon realized did not sound nearly as impressive. Consequently, when she was a foal, they simply called her "Princess", while they tried to think of a better name. Stephanie, however, longed for the day she was deemed old enough to actually use her name. And her parents gave in. There was little they denied to their little bolt of energetic joy. They called her Princess, and she took them at their word. She was their princess. No royal blood flowed in her veins, but you wouldn't be able to tell that, spending time with her. She is that interesting combination of entitled, sweet, and spoiled. She believes that she is owed her due, and that anyone who does not see her for all her glory clearly is in the wrong. She is used to getting her way, and can be stubborn and even ornery when she is denied something she wants, but if someone is in need, she'd be among the first to do whatever was needed to help them. For all her vanity, if a foal was trapped in the mud, she'd wade right in to save him or her. She might whine and complain, but she wouldn't hesitate. If someone needed something she had more then she did, she would probably give it to them, however, if someone had something she wanted, then even if they needed it more, she would WANT it. It must be hers. After it is hers, she might well return it, or keep it, depending on how easily she got it, how the other treated her, and how stubborn she had become.
She hates to show weakness of any sort, and tries to make even loosing an argument seem to be what she had intended all along. She has to have the last word against someone who annoys her, and she is, of course, always right.
Queen Stephanie grew up on stories of princesses, princes, heroes, and fair maidens, and she loves those stories. She knew ever since she was a young foal that she wanted to find her prince charming. Find him, and save him. She refused to be the damsel in distress waiting for her rescue. So she will be looking for Prince Charming in distress, or even better, an equal. Someone she can lock horns with, but not hate for being better. Someone who can meet her on even grounds. But failing that, she'll settle for the lord in distress, so long as they loved each other and he practically worships the ground she treads across. She'd have no problem falling in love with another princess or Queen like Soq, mind, she enjoys looking at other Soqs of both genders, if they are pretty, and she loves being flattered, no matter who is mouthing the words, but she wants to have baskets of her own, so she wont lifemate to a female unless they have an agreement that allows them both to go off and have fling for the sake of foals, and would happily help raise foals of her mate's so long as she can have her own.

What she does not know about her own birth is that her father isn't actually her sire. When her parents tried for so many years to get baskets, her mother figured she was infertile. So when a handsome younger stallion started paying her extra attention, flirting with her, and charmed her off her grass, she did something he feels guilty for now, but given the results, could never regret. She had a fling with the mystery male, who called it "just a moment in the woods" and slipped off. She saw him again only once. When they found the two baskets that resulted from their tryst, and he claimed one and left. She had a lot of fast thinking and talking to do when she came back with the basket, but she convinced her mate the foal was his, and vowed never ever to step out on him again. Ever. Which meant this would be her only foal. She refuses to even think about the other basket, since that makes her too sad. So she convinced herself that she has only one daughter, and has almost convinced herself that Queen Stephanie is her mate's daughter as well. So somewhere out there, Steph has a brother or sister she has never met.

Misc: Stephanie was grown from a plushie I colored myself to commemorate my birthday trip to Disney, in January 2012. My Birthday is in June, but due to family complications, we knew the trip would have to be in January. It has thus far been the best Disney trip ever, and this was just the icing on the castle. An amazing thanks to Julian for doing such a fantastic job on her, and to Divena for coming out to Disney for the first time, to celebrate with me. Also a ton of love to all the other Gaians I know IRL who came, Including Jezbel, She Elf, Sad, Wont, and Serif. I love you guys all so much.
