It often went without saying that some things just happened for a reason. The sun would shine, the rain would fall, life would flourish in response...
And the little critters of nature would all go forth and multiply, spreading the seeds of future generations to enjoy the shining sun and the falling rain.
Reason indeed, what better reason then the cycle of life?
But other things seemed to happen for a reason a body just couldn't comprehend without an hours worth of deep trance meditiation. There was a reason of course... but what was it?
Why would some die, others live... why did certain individuals seem meant for each other but circumstances prevented their union? Why must a father and son be together but distant... fruit of the poisonous tree of lies?
Those thoughts had driven the aging stallion of fire to his secluded 'meditiation grove' to ponder recent events and the upcoming journey he would undertake with his son Blais.

He was brooding again.
Snorting with obvious distaste, Crousader eyed his pupil as the painted colt stared forlornly at the busy stream that bordered the small native encampment.
"He's brooding too you know."
Nothing at first then one dark amber eye blinked and rolled back to eye the white wind. "Then you know it's genetic and can't be helped." Blais responded, looking back to the water.
"He'll probably say something rude as well..."
"Probably"
Narrowing his eyes, Crousader considered landing one swift kick to the colts attractively open backside, but thought better of it. Such and act would not provoke the colt into a spar, but would only make the brooding worse.
Sighing, the smaller wind stallion took his leave.
