"Finally," he muttered, still trying to catch his breath. He was in better shape than this. Sure, he never exercised but sex was very active. Running a hand through his hair, he glanced at Amy. Forgetting entirely about the girl in front of him and his $60 shoe--well, 30 since it was only one--he reached out for his sister. "What's wrong?" His voice was urgent; she looked like she hadn't slept in weeks, could it have been from gliding so far? Did ghosts get tired? Was he feeling what she was? Was that why he could barely stand up? He needed to do something, and fast. That decision came quickly, the what did not.

Amy looked at him sadly. She had envied him as he ran. He could still move. He could still touch things and feel what it was like to be with someone. But she thought nly a little on it. She felt as if she was being tugged on, like her mind was splitting and she wasn't all there. As if she was fading in and out. She didn't understand how she felt so tired. Or why for that matter.. But she couldn't answer him. She felt as if it would take to much energy.

Eric's voice cracked under the pressure, "Are you leaving me?" He wasn't ready for this. Instantaneously his spirit reached out for hers, though his body only shook. The grief that swallowed him up earlier suddenly appeared to overwhelm him once more. He knew, logically, that he couldn't be haunted by his sister all his life. But he still wasn't prepared to lose her right now.

Emily watched at what she could only discribe as a one way conversation. She sighed, annoyed at how family was a bother no matter who it was. She looked up at the floating girl whose image was alot sharper than before. "Take care of your brother, I'm going back to the police station". She started to walk briskly back, leaving Eric's shoe behind. She was going to get to the bottom of this if it was the last thing she ever did.

Eric hopped forward two steps to his shoe, then shoved his foot in, trying not to have to bend down. To her back he yelled, "You idiot, what do you think you're doing?!" Grumbling under his breath, he turned back to his sister. Holding out his hand he murmured, "Amy? Do you want to be free? Or stay here?"

Amy was surprised by erics expression.As much as she wanted to, she knew she couldn't. she was stuck here. She felt really bad for making him feel liek this and could feel his spiret hurting with hers. She reached out and took his hand, somehow her hand could feel his. "I'll stay" she responded .

Emily ignored Eric's yelling behind her. She walked into police headquarters with a air of determination. Coming up to the front desk, she asked the receptionist, "Could you please get me the officer in charge of the Monroe investigation?". The lady at the desk looked at Emily skeptically, but sent a page over the intercom.

Eric released the breath he'd been unwittingly holding. Squeezing her hand, he gave her a gentle smile. "Maybe you should join with me," He scratched the back of his head, trying to make it less awkward, "Maybe it'd be a break, you know?" He looked at his sister hopefully.
((How about we just make Alfred and Jeff the head of the investigations unless you think it'd be someone else?))

The lady at the desk directed her to jeff and Alfreds office. "you can speak to them" she answerd.
Anne thought a moment then nodded. "Alright" she responded, and just like before, and unsure how she did it, she was conneced to eric. Seeing what he saw.

Emily nodded and headed off to the office. She knocked on the door, mentally preparing herself for the arguments that would soon insue.

Eric breathed out slowly, relaxing to the sensation of sharing his body. Now that she was a part of him, he felt less tired as she was no longer pulling his energy away from him but sharing it. Silently he questioned, /Do you think we should follow Emily?/
Alfred and Jeff were leaning over the desk, looking at the preliminary autopsy report. They were going to receive more information soon hopefully. This case was bothering Alfred; more than usual. He'd had young girls before but not with the evidence of constant abuse that her body displayed. Still, he felt that the father wasn't the one to kill her; somehow that didn't click. His eyes flicked up just as Emily walked into the door. He couldn't help but tense, but kept the sigh in. He immediately recognized her as the fainting girl from before. "Yes?" He asked, his voice curt and obviously not friendly.
Jeff looked up immediately at his partner's voice. His reaction was similar to Alfred's, but he was much more successful at hiding it. A smile crossed his face, made more genuiene as he thought of his new dog, "Hey there, Emily, correct? What can we do for you?"

Emily smiled formally and gave a curt nod. "Hello again Officers. I'm sorry to leave then come back again so abruptly, but I require your services". She hefted her bag from her back, opening it to attain the files she had inside. Her Dad always made sure she had her identification papers and police files on hand. She was glad at least in this case that she had them.

Seeing a vein twitch on Alfred's forehead, Jeff stepped forward. "Now honey, you know we can't talk about the case with you." He gave her a full smile as he reached out and gently squeezed her shoulder. His smile faltered as he noticed the papers she was pulling out. Taking them he started to read them over. Glancing back at his partner, he handed the papers over, a frown creasing his lips.

Amy smiled liking how relaed she suddeny was. "I think we should go home, and tell your bf about whats happened. He must be going insane right now" she responded to him. "Emmily will be fine"

Eric smiled minutely, and the warm feeling that came from Jack's arms around him surrounded him. Turning to start the long walk home, he asked softly, /Do you want me to tell him about you? Do you think Jack'll be able to see you?/
