"Ah. It makes sense then." Takara nodded as she used one hand to pet Kirra. A god dieing seemed strange, of course, the gods themselves were mysterious. How had Hosvanji died? She wouldn't ask that, not wishing to push herself into his business. After all, she didn't even know his name, only that he was a hero. She valued her privacy, thus she would value another's. She reached up, pulling off the golden circlet she had been wearing and laying it on the table where the food was. She took the same hand and lightly touched the clear diamond that always hung around her neck. She lowered it a moment later, Kirra making herself comfortable on the royal's lap.
"How long are you going to stay?" Takara asked as her eyes returned to him, Kirra purring contently. "Within the capital, I mean. Are you planning to leave?" She found his presence to be... what was it, calming? She couldn't be sure. It wasn't negative, that could at least be certain. Perhaps not calming, but something to that effect. "And when was the last time you slept in a bed? There are many free rooms here within these walls."

He nodded, and there was a stretch of silence before she questioned him again. "Until the end of the war. After that, I don't know." I might as well just die, though. I have no other use than killing to achieve a higher goal. Without that, what am I? Nothing. There was a pause as he considered the second question. Sleep didn't come often in the first place, but when it did, it was never in a bed. That was for the spoiled and rich, he had always been taught. Now the offered sat in front of him. "It's been decades," he replied. "I suppose taking a room here might be possible." Another short silence and he nodded. "I will take you up on that offer. It will make it easier to work with your forces during this war."

He squatted on tree branch near a small lake. He was waiting fora deer to show up. He was contemplating his current situation when he saw some rustling in some bushes on the far side of the lake.He took upthe bow and cocked an arrow. He smirked when a deer popped his head out for a drink. He drew, aimed, then fired. Hitting the deer in the jugular, followed by a couple of other arrows around the killzone. The deer took a couple of steps before falling to the ground. He smirked when he jumped out of the tree, walking around the lake to the fallen deer. He was thinking about how long it would take him to carry the deer back to the city. It would have to be quick before the meat spoiled.

Takara nodded, Kirra's tail flickering up and down with her eyes shut. "I will get you a room." The queen stated as she made a movement to get up, Kirra meowing as she looked up whose lap she was sitting on.
"Pick me up. You're comfortable!"
Takara picked up the cat, standing up and walking over to the door. She suddenly felt sleepy herself, neglecting it for the past two days, maybe more. She usually didn't keep track of things like that. She opened the door, whispering something to the new gaurd who was standing there. He nodded, and as he stepped to leave the door a messanger ran up to her. He was almost panting, and as he arrived he dropped down to the floor and bowed. The knight who was leaving glanced over at the man, though he didn't say anything and just continued walking.
"Yes. Speak up." Takara told him as she looked down at the young messanger boy from her opened door.
"My Queen, the council requests a meeting with you." Despite the fact that he looked tired, he didn't pause during his speaking or repeat a word. Takara lifted an eyebrow at this, finding this impressive, seeing how he was only a boy. Most messangers were so busy running around that when they had to speak the messages it came out messy.
"For what, exactly?"
"They would like to discuss 'issues'." The young teenage boy replied as he continued to look down at the floor. "They didn't tell me what it was about, my Queen."
"Look at me when you're speaking." She ordered, and he did so, shutting his open mouth and breathing in through his nose. "Tell them that I'm not coming." Takara was getting annoyed by the council, always wanting this and that and never being satisfied. The boy looked startled, though he quickly caught himself and returned his face to normal. Takara backed away from the door, though she didn't shut it. The messanger stayed, waiting to be dismissed. She went over to a drawer, opening it and pulling a silver coin out. She trusted the one who was sitting out in her balcony, though she hardly even knew him. Heading back to the door, she held Kirra with one arm and used the other to hold the coin out. "Take it and deliver message. You are dismissed."
He took the coin, stepping back and bowing before he took off, pocketing what she'd just given him.
"Do you always give out free money like that?" A voice asked, making Takara look down at Kirra as she shut her door. Takara only shook her head, beginning to turn around.
Just as the door shut, a knock came from it, and she reopened the door and saw a maid standing there.
"The room you requested is ready." The maid told Takara as she bowed before holding up a key. Takara took it and nodded, dismissing the maid and going back over to Cedric.
"This key is to a room a floor down." She told him as she held the key out to him. She could tell by the small circle that had pressed into the top of the key. Symbols were made on the keys so someone would know where the key went to. There was also another symbol, a line, which would be on the door the key went down. "You'll be able to tell which room it is. Do you see that verticle line? It will be on the door as well. It is very easy to find, unlike other rooms. I can show it to you once you are ready, if you like."

Karasi had managed to get to the Inn before anyone else was awake, save for the cook and the manager. The manager just nodded her way, respecting his clients privacy. The Elvian girl nodded breifly in his direction before heading up to her room. Once there, she gathered her few belongings and tidied up a bit. Once done, she grabbed her key off the dresser and headed back down stairs. Handing the key over to the innkeeper, she paid the fees and left the Inn. If last nights events had not happened, she would be signing up for her classes at the palace today. Seeing as how she was not to know about last night, Karasi thought it best if she showed up. It was up to those in the palace if she 'learned' anything about the night before.
Shouldering her pack, Karasi walked down the cities streets. They were not incredably busy at this time, so she should make good time. She was in no particullar hury, she would not be able to register untill noon anyway, she might as well enjoy the trip.

Cedric stood silently at the balcony, listening first to the messenger and then the maid. After all was over, she approached, holding out a key. He accepted it and looked at the engraving momentarily so that he could memorize it, which was easy enough. Then he looked back to the Queen. "I am ready whenever it suits you best," he replied. "And if you have things to do, I would have no troubles finding it myself. I don't want to cause any delays."

He shouldered the bow and positioned itso it was out of he way. He then picked up the deer and placed it on his shoulders. "God this is heavy!" He said to himself. He then made his journey back to the city, trying to keep a steady pace. Huffing and puffing when he entered the city. He made his way to the house of his employer and literally dropped of the deer. "Thank you so much." The man said. "No, problem." He said huffing, while he collapsed on a chair. The man gave him the money he was promised and a cup of water. "Thanks." He said as he drank the water. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be on my way." He said standing up. He bowed to the man and left the house. He decided to go for some shopping in the market place for a while before he went to find another job.

Takara nodded to Cedric, looking out towards the sun silently as Kirra started purring again. The Council wasn't exactly going to be happy with their queen and would definately send back a complaint. How soon, she wasn't too sure, however she had an idea that they would do it when she wasn't busy just to annoy her and make her want to get it over with. Takara wouldn't let them step on her nerves. She kept her emotions blocked-out, and they would stay that way when it came the members of the Council.
"Perhaps now would be a good time." Takara told the other after five minutes, a breeze blowing past her and brushing her hair back. She reached down, laying her circlet with the small diamond that hung off through the center on her head again."I'll show you to your room."
She turned around, walking inside and opening her door. When one of the gaurds there saw that she was going to actually get out of her room, he held the door open for both of them. Once they were far enough down the hall he shut it, Takara leading Cedric to where the strairs were. She walked down, then made a left, walking down a hall with rows of rooms. At the end of the hall was where his room was, and thus she stopped in front of it and then stepped aside.
"...What do you want me to call you?" Takara asked him as she pet the cat who was in her arms. As always her voice sounded flat, though one couldn't call it bored since there was never any emotion.

He wondered around the market place, looking at this and that. Seeing what would catch his eye. Going from one tender to the next. Inspecting fruits, chickens, and other goods. He finally purchased a sharpening stone. Since he needed one for his claymores and dirk he had hidden in the nearby forest.

He nodded and turned to follow her out of the room and into the hall. Down some stairs. A left turn. More walking down a similar hall, and then they stopped in front of a door with the same marking on a small metal plate. Then she asked that oh so common question. Silently he wondered why people needed names, why did they try to be individuals when they just got caught up in the breeze, moving like herds; a mind of the mob, never an individual. "Whatever you like," he replied. "My name is long since forgotten." He knew it probably sounded like he was being difficult, but it didn't matter. He'd outlive everyone anyways, that is, if he didn't go and commit 'noble' suicide in the heat of battle.

"Anon for Anonymous then." Takara replied as Kirra appeared to be asleep, though the swishing tail gave the feline away. "If you're ever hungry, merely ask a servant or knight for food." With those words finished, Takara gave him a half-smile before walking away. The smile faded away, her face returning back to how it usually looked. Back up the stairs and into to her room, Takara laid Kirra on her bed. Then she walked over to where her clothes were, picking out a long black velvet dress with crimson roses on it. This one had long sleeve and covered up all of her body, yet despite this it was easy to move around in. She changed, put her circlet away, and replaced it with the crown she should have been wearing originally and grabbed a cloak that was the same color as her dress, though not as fancy and had no decoration. Kirra was stretched out on the bed, clearly able to make herself comfortable in her new surroundings. The queen then went out of the room, knowing that the cat would come back if Kirra decided to leave. If she didn't, she would most likely go to Shin's home, where his family was. Either way, the cat would be taken care of, and besides, cats knew how to take care of themselves.
Takara visited the training grounds, watching those who were there. She spent most of her morning exploring the castle, checking on the different areas. She signed papers, wrote, ordered people, and other things. As noon grew closer, she neared where the servant's quarters were. The people who she passed seemed surprise to her there, though she ignored their looks.

Rounding a corner, she saw three servant boys, one of them on the ground and the other two above him. She didn't decide on anything at first, only waiting until she knew what was happening to let her mind begin to work. From the bruises and cuts that were on the one of the ground and the way the other two were standing over him, it was clear that there had been a fight. Then, the following words added to this. Cursing and laughing while the other just pressed against the wall. She brought the hood on her cloak up, her crown not large enough to really be seen through the fabric.
One of them brought their leg back for a kick, and Takara simply stated this: "I'd suggest that you stop."
The boy stopped, looking over at her with an angry face. All that he could see was someone standing there, since the cloak covered up her clothes, her face hidden from the hood.
"Back off lady!" He snapped back, then returned to who was in front of him. Takara shook her head, walking closer and keeping her head lowered. Reaching them, she caught a fist that was thrown at her, making a forward movement with her hand. The boy was pushed back by a random pressure of air that had occured, though he didn't fall and he only stumbled a foot back. "I said back off!"
"You ought to cut it out. Boys your age get in trouble too easily." Takara lowered her hood, revealing who she was. All three of their faces drained of color, and the two who were standing sprinted off down the hall. She faced the one who was on the floor, not even showing compassion through her eyes or face. "Get up. Now." She reached down, grabbing the front of his shirt and pulling him up when he just laid there and stared at her. "I told you to get up." Takara started walking away, dragging the boy with her. He started to say something only to get a: "Be quiet." In return. Heading through the hall and levels, they came to a door. She knocked on it, waited until it was open and pulled the boy in. It was one of the infirmary rooms. Takara looked at the healer who was standing there and bowing to her. "Take care of him."
She turned away, shutting the door and remembering something: The wind mage's graduation party. Had she missed it? She didn't need to be there, but she wanted to be. Takara had a feeling that it would be too late to go to where it was being held. And she hadn't gotten a responce from their teacher Matt when she'd sent the letter, so, it most likely meant that she simply shouldn't go.
There was one thing that she needed to take care of though: The animals. Nodding to herself, Takara made her way back to her room. She went out to one of her windows, bending over and looking out for a bird.

Anon. How simple. How suiting. He was always anonymous. The history books had no markings of him, and no one had ever heard of the Servant to Hosvanji. The name Cedric was never printed in any language. It just proved how little people truly knew. Even those that had fought beside him never mentioned him. He was an untold story, neither hero nor villain. Just a slayer, killing this king or that noble, or whatever army. It was all he did, and he was damn good. Too good, but he had a purpose behind it all. After this war, he wouldn't have a purpose.
He shook his head, wondering why those thoughts kept coming at him. Perhaps it meant the war was nearing its close. That would be good, if not for him, then this kingdom. Then they would see how great a leader Queen Takara could be. He smirked. As if he cared what happened to him. His family was gone, his Master gone, and he planned on following them soon enough. For now, though, he had work to do.

As Cedric made it outside, he realized there was no work that could be done. The only work to be done was assist the soldiers under Queen Takara's command. The training grounds. That would be a good place to start, he supposed. He found it on his own, after a short while of wandering. Many eyed him awkwardly, but several recognized him from the day before. When he said he just wanted some practice, the people that had seen him yesterday backed off. "That'd be crazy," they would say.
"Then what about a four on one?" Cedric suggested. He found four soldiers to agree. "I'll be sure to take it lightly on you guys."

He leaned up against a building, he had just bought some food and he decided to eat some of it. He slowly munched on the food, thinking about the times when he didn't have to do so many streinious(sp?) jobs. But that time is long gone, he had to think of he present and the near future.
