I want a tablet...but don't have one, and probably don't have the time. sweatdrop I know I'm lat on this, but if you do choose to buy one, I suggest the Bamboo Fun by Wacom. It's not very expensive, it's a decent size, plus it comes with free software. @kuno: Have you tried Correl's products? they're not free, but I really like them.

For some reason, I have this notion that land stryders have cat-like mannerisms (probably because they seem to be highly independent, like cats). Is that completely off?

I wouldn't say it's off. I was imagining the same thing..Kind of like the thanator in Avatar (if you have seen it!)

Sure, yeah the stryders might be independenty-cat-ish. 3nodding Makes sense. Fits with having to develop a bond with them. Obviously they wouldn't be strictly cattish, and they probably wouldn't lick their scales. razz But yeah, I can definitely see land stryders having a few cat-like behaviors. ^^
I'd post in reply to Zaria and Sariel, but I'm staying up way too late as it is. I'll try to post tomorrow before I go to work. biggrin

No you actually got that wrong Kalon. My tablet worksd with all of thsoe, no problem...and I'm quite the Photoshop fetishist (my Photobucket has like 20 pages) and I would really want to use it, however the reaction time of the tablet is horrible in Photoshop, and I'm having a hard time getting used to the others.
I have tried the corel products, but that was before I had a tablet...may have to dig those up again.

I like how Zaria comes across suuperior, probably a byproduct of both previous noble status and being a mage, as well as being pampered throughout the arranged marriage. Makes for some cool character interactions. xD

I tried to get her a bit of a superiority complex, since I know I wouldn't be able to get through years of being spoiled without changing a bit.

What a lovely little bit of tension there, i think i will wait to post anything for a bit until we are ready to get past the stage of introduction and be on our way. there is only so much one can describe without overly repeating ones self.

Were you just making up words, or were you using some sort of translator? If there's no way to translate the words, it might be best to translate them for us. Unless it's not important to the story, like the comment in your post. biggrin
As for the size of the stryder, it's not THAT much bigger than others. =)
Don't worry, though. I'm not getting on your case. Elenda was getting on Zaria's. ^^
Incidentally, I noticed that her name is pronounced zar REE uh. I'm willing to bet most people would automatically think ZAR ee uh, even though it says how to pronounce it in your profile. Would it be beneficial to add an accent mark over the i? thus: Zaría. *shrug* No need to employ it, just something that might help. In case you like the idea, an easy way to make the í is with Alt+0137. biggrin

We should be able to move to chapter 2 quite soon, if no more people join. (they can still join after we start, of course)

boy am I dumb. I just realized that the bit in parentheses IS the translation of the elvish! xD *facepalm*
I think maybe I was confused by the font size. It might be better to have the normal stuff in normal font, and then the translations in the small font. =)

Sorry about that. I should've made it clear that it was the translation.
And as for the size, Zaria will blame anything but herself. Even a meager difference in size.
I actually have a mac (because I'm just that cool wink ), so theirs no alt button. I figure out how to add accents somehow, though.
