 The dank crawl was smothering- though for his efforts he was rewarded, a huddled figure sat in a small carved out globe. He bound, hand and foot, by chains set deep into the muddy wall beyond him. He seemed content, playing with a set of rocks worn over the years to resemble dice. His head lifted up, a slow friendly smile spreading across it in the dimness that had become home. "Mornin' " The chipper voice welcomed as he gave a little nod to the host.

It's Just beneath the skin...
Ichi stood there confused on multiple levels. But on top of that he was covered in cold dank mud, Ichi felt as though his skin had turned to Ice while he stood up; and that he might crack and fall into pieces, Ichi looked at the man who had told him 'mornin' as he attempted to Wipe off as much Mud from himself s he could; keeping his old sand Headband in his hand as he did so. Taking a few deep breaths to calm down from the situation that he had been in just a few moments before. "....h-hello" He said blankly not moving any closer to the figure. Ichi's entire body shivering.

"Come in! It's not much but it's home right? I haven't had a visitor in going on 5... maybe 10 years now. Hell if I know- I've been dead for at least that long. Time kinda passes me by without me know'en it- if you know what I mean, kinda' hard ta' tell day and night in this dank a** hole.... but enough about that- what are you here for my friend?"

Ichi remained standing there in place for a moment; he had heard the Kage say that it was a spirit, but he didn't think the Otokage was being so..... literal, the guy was dead? At least he wouldn't be cold here seeing as how he didn't have any Skin to get cold. However a moment later Ichi slowly walked up to the figure' his arm still being pinned close to his side as it normally was when he was talking to anyone new. "T-the Otokage.... t-told me t-to talk to you" He said not knowing if the reason he was stuttering was because he was scared, which... he didn't feel like he was scared, but then again it might have been because he was extremely cold. Ichi said as he reached the 'ghost'.

The figure shook with mirthful laughter, "That'd be the first nice thing the b*****d's ever done for me so I don't doubt he's got some arterial motive 'er some'then- anything in particular reason you made the trek out of this pit to visit me... or should I attribute it to the Oto-kun's kindness." There was a thick sense of disdain for the Otokage in his voice even as he bantered lightly about his situation.

"w-well... my and a f-friend came to the Sound...." Ichi said looking at the man who was in front of him, noting the distaste in the mans voice. "H-he threatened to kill my f-friend..... if.... I d-din't join the Sound" Ichi said still wiping some of the mud off of his once white clothing; which where now stained a dark brown and black. "A-and when i agreed.... H-he said i was 'broken' and t-talking to you should help...." He said still looking at the man... "...w-where you really a host?" He asked finally managing to ask what he wanted to this whole time.

The man nodded knowingly, as he spoke with closed eyes. "Sounds like good old Oto-kun. b*****d's had me locked up in here for a while now after he brought my spirit back from the other side... but in answer to your question... yeah... kinda I guess. I was the host of the eight tailed beast for about 8 months or so before it ripped oudda' me and killed me. See- I was working with the immortals and there where eight of them and nine parts of the original demon. Not much they could do- their Neidan training could only suppress one at a time and they where a man short and a day late. I kinda' got the feeling I was gonna die right off the bat' but I managed to get 8 whole months out of it before the eight tails broke loose. It took every ounce of strength I had but that bull-b*****d stayed put. I was even able to make it revert after it came all the way out... but it was only really useful when used on someone else ya'know...."

As Ichi heard that the man was in fact a demon host he almost wanted to smile despite all the bad things that had happened lately, however once he heard that like almost all the other host's the demon had been the result of his death; it only depressed Ichi. "S-sorry.... to hear that" Ichi said to the man standing in front of him. "My n-name is.... Ichite-ru Shujouteki... the h-host of Shukaku" He said looking at the man in front of him. "D-do you know... w-why the otokage wanted me to talk to you?"

The man shrugged, "Well I'm a hell of a conversationalist- but something tells me that's not why, if you're a host too then it probably has something to do with your control over your demon... I thought Li had the one tails under control the last I heard. Sounds like times are changing..."

Ichi's head almost tilted to the side as the man said something about a man named Li having been in control of the One tail the last time that he had known about it. "Li..... who's that?" Ichi asked now wondering about who this Li person was. Ichi still had no idea what the name of this person was or how he was going to be able to help him learn to control Shukaku in any way better then he had been able to up until now.

As the man spoke about a man called Iron-crutch Li; Ichi wondered what he was like. "...h-how did he deal with Shukaku" Ichi asked sitting on the ground in front of dead man. He didn't want to think about what could 'do in' someone who had completely mastered there demon, it was just as bad thought for Ichi seeing as how he barely keep Shukaku under control at times. "I-I'm sorry.... to hear that" Ichi said looking at the past demon host who stood in front of him, at least this guy was nice.

"Well, I can't say I know to much 'bout it myself. The Immortals underwent a form of training called "Neidan training" which is said to link them directly to the entire world in terms of their chakra... but I don't understand much of it. They where called the Immortals because they had access to an unlimited amount of chakra. Still- Li must no longer be guarding the one tails for some reason, damned if I know why though."

Ichi brought his hands up and rested them on his chin thinking about how or what it was that the Otokage wanted him to do down here; There was no way at all that Ichi could to the training that this guy was talking about; Ichi had easily 4 or 5 times the chakra of a normal ninja; and that was even without being able to control Shukaku; so that was no where even close to the 'infinite' amount that there immortals had. "Hmmm...." Ichi hummed to himself slightly not knowing that he was doing it out loud; his glance looking around the whole room; ending as they looked at the 'dice' that the man was using as Ichi came in.

 One costume change later, Shuniji was once again standing outside the Otokage's audience chamber, shifting anxiously. He had a hard enough time being alone on a regular basis, much less when there was this inescapable sense of foreboding hanging in the air.
He picked at the hem of his new jacket. Was it just the tension, or was this thing really warm..? He was starting to regret making it out of that stupid jumpsuit. Still, he wanted to feel normal for a change...
Normal for him at least.
The short cut of the jacket revealed the nasty bruises given to him by the Wairudokaado mantis summon. They still hurt, but the adrenaline rush Shuniji was getting by standing in the hallway was enough to choke the pain down.
