 'Yes? Why, were you not expecting that?' she asked. She focused on bringing all of her welled up energy to the surface, the odd blue crackle bursting through her skin.

Asphyxia ducked, rolling underneath the attack, narrowly avoiding being struck. Shoving herself back to her feet, she summoned up a second thunderbolt, hurling it at the creature with all the strength she could muster.

'Meld? What do you mean?' she demanded, now walking closer towards it, still with one hand out before herself. A peculiar, but warm and comforting feeling was flowing through her, and she felt her energy levels rise, her electrokinesis growing stronger.

Don't touch...*It was focusing hard to raise its energy back up, not having expected to have missed Phyx with its rage. It fired off small rounds of lightning to try and distance her, though they were much weaker.*

 She suddenly flared up with her own electrical aura, yellow and blue lightning streaming from her. She launched another attack, a thunderbolt ripping through the air towards Chiagro as though thrown by the hand of Zeus himself.

*Chiagro retaliated in defense, arcing out a bolt to deflect hers, though too weak to do as intended. In that single instance when the energies met, Phyx would have been able to feel Chiagro from within*More power...

Confusion washed over her at the sensation, but for the time being, she shook it off. Getting out of the dig site alive was top priority for her. So right now, it meant disabling Chiagro. Despite not having been tapping into the potential of her powers for very long, she was already starting to feel the drain on her energy. She grit her teeth and fought the oncoming fatigue, determined not to lose consciousness as well. At least, not until she was safely back in Area-21. She drew closer to the mechanical beast, ropes of electricity lashing out from her palms. They threaded their way along Chiagro, shocking it as they went.

*The entity tried calling on help from the skies, but none came. While in Phyx's grasp it was losing control of its own power, seeming to brighten and fade as the electricity surged back and forth now between the two*Ruined grounds...

 Asphyxia suddenly felt as though she had been caught in the middle of an explosion. Light erupted from somewhere very nearby - it was from her! She clenched her eyes shut, yet could still see a blinding white light through her eyelids. The fatigue was coming on faster, heavier now. She would not be able to stay awake for much longer... Her hands weakly grasped at Chiagro, trying to send some of the new, wildly out of control electrical arcs into it. She breathed deeply, jaggedly. Her body swayed a little, yet remained upright. She was going to fight against both the fatigue and Chiagro with all of her might. She was not to lose.

 *A vortex swirled up inside Chiagro and there was a deafening silence. The light of his body flickered and then exploded in a rain of lightning and sonic booms. The energy was shifted directly into Phyx with great force, and nothing was left of Chiagro but the metal armor formed from the ground, which then fell and went silent*

Asphyxia's expression turned to one of pain, as Chiagro's energy was absorbed by her, yet no sound escaped from her lips. She fell backwards, her own electrical energy dwindling down to nothing. The defeat of Chiagro had come not a moment too soon; the girl was rapidly losing consciousness, and fell backwards, onto the ground, out flat.

*MK's eyes opened wearily, not opening all the way. He felt as if he had been run through a transformer unprotected- and sure looked it. He dragged himself up to the gate control, lifting up and leaning on it to as carefully as he could punch in the code and coordinates for Gaia. When success was finally met, he collapsed back to the ground with a half-smile*

When Asphyxia's eyes finally opened as well, the first thing she noticed was the portal - working again. Thank you God, she thought, and looked around for MK. She found him, flat out again, not realising that he had come round just long enough to activate the portal. The Akumoni shakily got to her feet, still feeling horribly weak from her battle with Chiagro, and grabbed a hold of MK. She tried to lift him up, finding him a lot heavier than expected in her fatigued state. It took her a lot longer than she would have liked, but slowly, gradually, she hauled him through the portal, and back to Gaia.
