Good look? Cinna blushed as she knew just what he had noticed her thinking. She blushed with a bit of embarrassment. Hopefully no one else knew what she was thinking.

"Wolfsbane sounds like a good choice." She followed her mate and then grabbed his arm as another wolf showed up. She gulped a bit of air and stared as the wolf retreated. "That was close."

Aspen watched as his mate disappeared. "You'll do great." He called out to her. He felt a twinge of guilt that he wasn't going with her. If anything happened to her he would be very upset.

Aspen then tured to Saffron, "So, which should we go after?" He was anxious leaving Takeko, but he swore he would help.

Woobie turned to their little hunting party. "Which is it? Rye or Wolfsbane? I'm game for either." Woobie smiled and looked to each in the group. They had to save Pastela and the rest!

(Prompt 2!)

Seth sweatdroped, looking down at his mud-splatered self. "Well... which one should we go for guys?"

Ama grinned, having gotten used to the dirt of the marsh. "BACK TO THE MARCH!" She yelled, then marched off back through the sludge.

Seth gave Karma and Woobie an apologetic smile. "Sorry... she's a bit stubborn, I know...."

Ama searched high and low for the blossoms, groaning in despair when she found the trampled flowers. "Oh no! They've been ruined!"

Seth frowned, then looked to the left as something sparkled a little and caught his eye. "We're in luck, they missed a patch." He said as he went to collect them. "Let's get back and find the next ingredients before those werepae do..."

(Sorry Spooky! I had to post now, I hope you don't mind me choosing the path for our group ^^' *swamped with work*)

Prompt 2

Jazz went back out alone. She went to find the Moonstone Flower. It looked like they had missed being trampled and destroyed by the wolves. Luckily she was able to get a few. They sure were pretty.

Anna-Maria went out again and she followed her map again. This time she found the Moonstone flower...or a few that were left. She picked them and headed back.

Prompt 2

Carter walked with elvis, having found themselves in the marsh now. He didn't want to end up here, but Elvis was hellbent on picking this ingredient.
"Be careful" Carter breathed to Elvis, though soon Elvis stoped and gasped at the sight of silver petals all over the floor.
"No!" Elvis cried and ran over to the petals, pickign them up and pouting, though soon his eyes fell on a patch of untouched flowers. " There are still some!" He cried cutely and ran over to them and harvesting them.

(( Prompt Two ))

Seraphim sighed, randomly picking between the moonstone flower and the quicksilver blossom. They both sounded like a good choice, but the quicksilver blossom was close and made sense. They were supposedly allergic to silver weren't they? The purple angel stretched his wings, taking off in the direction that the petals had lead, gathering what he could of the blossoms and returning.

Now to go where Cinna wished and return until the next ingredient was revealed.

Prompt #2

With a wing twitch, Grendell challenged the Late One, "If you found this stuff, why didn't you pick it up?" Her blue-eyes looked hard at the Late One before turning and taking off again. Unlike the last time, she put full speed into this. Forcing her wings to go as fast as possible, she was determined to get what she needed and get back to the mansion before anyone one else. Observing the Late One when he wasn't expecting her back would give valuable Intel.

Plucking the quicksilver, she took a moment to look at the wolf's tracks. What kind of enemy were they dealing with if they were this messy? There was no organization with this. Wolves were supposed to be pack animals and intelligent, this showed disorganization and blindness. Obviously her mother wasn't part of this. If she were, nothing would exist.

Picking up the plant, she kicked off the ground and darted back to the mansion like a dragon fly.

The hunter rolled his eyes beneath his cloak once more, pondering ignoring the child completely. Hadn't he explained that he wasn't finished with his research? That the list of ingredients included more than necessary? He hadn't planned on needing such a potion either, but unfortunately, the wily Alpha had gotten the jump on him this time. "My mistake," he answered, practically dripping sarcasm. They really didn't have time for this. "In tracking the dangerous beast, I'd foolishly thought that pausing to pick flowers and carry them about for weeks in a giant sachel so that they lose whatever power they may or may not have might have slowed me down and wasted time. Silly me. I'll be sure to handle everything myself from now on."

The solitary life of a hunter...he missed it so right now.

Luckily, he had some quiet time to cool while the Pae'il were off gathering ingredients once more.

Takeko calmly went about her business as the Pae'il returned, sorting the ingredients again before staring at them both intently in turn. After a while, she started stripping the silvery petals from the quicksilver blossoms and grinding them with her mortar and pestle.

---

PROMPT #3

The hunter waited until all returned, then lifted his voice. "The next two ingredients are a little further away, at least in general. The salted bloom may be found in Sein Lagoon. It is named as such for the salt crystals that form on the flower's petals, due to its proximity to the sea. The salt may aid in warding away spirits. The second ingredient is hallowed ground. The best, or at least most likely, source should be the Fae Clearing again. The land there is magical and should serve our purposes well as hallowed ground. Take care, and good luck!"

Salted Bloom Prompt
The tiny flowers glittered as the salt crystals bent and reflected the moonlight, and even the wolves seemed reluctant to near them. Perhaps there was something to the theory of salt warding off spirits? Still, a pair of wolves nodded to one another, immediately digging paws into the soft sand and tossing it backwards over the blooms. If they couldn't destroy them, they could always attempt to hide them. They worked quickly, then took to their paws to rejoin the others, leaving shifting sand piles in their wake, tiny flowers struggling to push through.

Hallowed Earth Prompt
How...did one destroy dirt? That raised a problem and the snarling wolves circled the Fae Clearing for some time puzzling over the matter. Well, if they couldn't destroy it, again they would have to get creative. If they could keep the Pae'il from coming to the Clearing at all, that could suffice. A number of wolves lifted their heads, sending up an eerie chorus of howls. They clung to the shadows, out of sight, using the idea of fear of the unknown threat to terrify the foolish two-leggers. Then, leaving only a couple lookouts to keep up the howls from time to time, the rest of the pack slipped off through the shadows.

(( Looks like the posts are in order again owo;; But Prompt 3 ))

This one seemed a harder choice than the others, but he was standing there going over the choices in his mind. Salted blossoms would be odd, but then if the werepae could not tread on hallowed ground then the choice was obvious. But the amount of information that he had on the wolves they were supposed to be getting rid of was troublesome in the decision.

In the end, Seraphim made his way out to towards the salted blossoms. The wolves didn't seem to be near it, perhaps that was a bad sign. No matter, he searched and found what he was looking for and brought it back.

Jazz went off again. She found that the salt flowers seemed to have been covered in dirt. Wow, that was sucky. Oh well, she didn't mind getting dirty if it was to help out others. The elder bent down and began raking her fingers through the dirt until she was able to get one. Once she had she was off back to the hunter.

Anna-Maria went off following the map again and found that this time it lead to something in the dirt. Well, at least this time it made sense. She found one that was left out possible by the last person to come by. She got and headed back.

Aspen frowned as Saffron flew off to find another pae. He stood there feeling a bit useless. He waited to Saffron and sighed. He really hoped Takeko was ok, she was alone with that pae...Aspen sighed again as he tried to figure out what to do.

Cinna followed Phim as he gathered the ingredients. "I think you are picking find so far." She held onto his arm as they walked. She wondered how the were-pae were doing and if they had any idea what was going on.

Woobie smiled and followed the group. He hoped that they got everything soon. He was SO worried about Pastela.

Karma smiled at Seth. Fate had a way of doing things, she was sure everything would be ok and everyone will be fine.

Seth's eyes narrowed as they got to the Fae clearing, he could hear the howels of the wolves from the shadows surronding them and occasionally there was a glint of eyes.

Ama kept her branch from the earlier travels close to her. Seeing a glint to her right, she swung with all of her might. "Yeah, you better damn well run! I'll beat the daylights out of you, pae or not!"

Seth frowned a little at his daughter. "Pastela could be one of them...." He lectured her a bit, gathering as much dirt as he could before moving with the rest of the group to leave.

Ama snorted. "I don't think Aunt Pastela would mind me smacking her if it was to keep her from hurting us... Lets get this dirt back, pronto guys." With that, she marched on, leading them back the way they had come and back to the mansion were Seth handed off his dirt.

Grendell wasn't done with him yet, she just waited to continue her argument. As the next assignment was given, she held back. As everyone left, once again she raised a voice of challenge, "This is a trifle, you could have collected these items to study in hours. The little scavenger hunt you seem to think is so much fun could have been prevented. Lack of brains or over ego I can't tell but it is ridiculous nonetheless. I will find the real reason." As with the last time, she was quick to leave after her words were said and a response was indicated.

Couldn't the Late One see that she wasn't fooled or impressed?

Regardless, the only way to see this charades to the end was to follow along. There were so many things she'd rather be doing then this. Speaking of things, the blue eyed pae glanced around. Sadly, she hadn't spotted a green demon all night even with her frequent flying. No one at the party was any fun, the colors showing themselves strongly when they all jumped and cowered around the Late One, both times and the mangy dog.

Her path took her to the Fae Clearing, more to check it out then anything. She knew the land was magical, but didn't believe in the hallowed idea. Besides, it made no sense to put dirt in any sort of potion. All the other things could be pounded into a paste but not dirt. There was not enough liquid in dirt and certainly not even close to enough in what was already take in.

Observing the wolves that stayed behind, the hot head let out a yell of her own, "You are not scaring anyone with brains, puppies. Go back to your whelper." Twisting in mid air, she went to the Sein Lagoon. While the spirit repent made little sense, it made more than dirt that only got its power from the fae. Speaking of, kidnapping a fae would be pretty fun. Not the ones like her mother, but the ones with old power.

At first, she didn't see anything, or rather she didn't see the flowers. The wolves were not good at covering their tracks. Like their record thus far, they couldn't conceive the idea of hiding what they were doing. This was proof her mother had nothing to do with this whole thing.

Kicking the sand with one foot, it wasn't long before Grendell found the flowers in question. After she collected her Salted Blooms, she ground a lot of the other flowers to grainy dust out of spite.

Taking off again, she made a bee line back to the mansion for the next useless item of the goose hunt.

Theron leads Anna-Maria by the arm to where the Hallowed Earth was said to be found. "After all," he'd said on the way there, Something sacred is bound to have some effect on unholy beasts such as these."

Just then he'd heard the wolves howl. "Well....that was chilling, wasn't it?" he says, pausing. "Still, we must press on, I suppose." He isn't sure why he's so unconcerned with the wolves and whatnot, as it's a rather imminent danger, but he's still just enjoying the night.

"Hm....now how to transport this back?"
PostPosted: Thu Dec 03, 2009 12:29 am

"Yes, yes," the hunter muttered, unamused. "You've found me out. So much for the game. In any case, you're free to quit playing anytime you'd like," he quipped at the irritating child. Seriously, if she wanted her mother cursed, then what did he care anymore? The both of them were likely completely nutters in the head, if the daughter was any indication.

Takeko cast a disapproving eye over the pair, shaking her head sadly. Rudeness really was no excuse to answer with further rudeness. And yet, respect had to be earned, and she was starting to wonder about the both of them at this point. Was this any time to be bickering like children? Hadn't the hunter berated them all earlier for the same reason?

She shook her head sadly once more, collecting the ingredients from the other Pae'il and only glancing up as the hunter approached to mutter in her ear. She looked at the hallowed ground that people had returned, then added it to the mixture. After a while of staring, she sighed and set the salted blooms aside.

PROMPT #4

Seeming weary of this task, or at least the tiring harassment that seemed to come with it, the cloaked figure turned once more to the crowd. "Alright, next two," he called, with less energy and enthusiasm than he might have had earlier. "Fenris root and lupus vine. Fenris roots may be collected near Pae'kippu Beach, likely close to the Chai'en River inlet. Lupus vines, meanwhile, thrive at the Great Tree of Life, Laisidhiel. Tread peacefully at the tree," he seemed to add as a secondary thought. With turmoil on the Isle, no doubt Chieftain Rais would have heard by now and gone on the defensive, always concerned for the safety of his people. With that, he waved his arm to the crowd, mind already pre-occupied with upcoming events. There weren't many more ingredients to gather so he needed to prepare for the next phase.

Fenris Root Prompt
Once more, the weres had beat the Pae'il to the punch. A pair of wolves, one green with smoky markings, the other brightly colored like a rainbow, busily tossed sand about in a flurry. Sand and debris covered the area, as if a storm had recently gone through. The two-leggers would have to dig for the roots as it was...might as well make it harder to figure out where to dig, if the entire area was a mess. With a victorious howl, the wolves fled down the beach, sand flying in their wake.

Lupus Vine Prompt
The Great Tree was quiet, the fauns who lived there and had not ventured out this evening had received word not to go out unless absolutely necessary. There was a heavy feeling of foreboding and mischief hanging over the isle tonight and only the Great Tree seemed to offer much protection from wickedness. And yet, at the base, a wolf growled and tugged at some vines. Pulling some free, it shook its head vigorously, the tattered vines whipping about. Then, one ear cocking as if hearing someone approach, the wolf turned to glance over its shoulder before fleeing.

Was that a blushing wolf?

Prompt 4

Carter and Elvis continued onwards until reaching the great tree. It was carter's first time here...sadly it was at a time when he couldn't appreciate it's beauty.

"Daddy look!" Elvis peeped out, pointing at the wolf that was ripping at the vines. Carter looked over and noted the blushing wolf, it didn't even take him a second to realize who it was.

"Alister! Alister!" He called out, running towards the wolf, but the beast only snorted at them and puffed up a little in a defensive manner before trotting away. Carter watched him go sadly, but didn't dare follow, heeding the hunter's words about the wolves not going to remember their loved ones.

"well..lets just gather what he left..." Carter breathed and moved to gather the vines. Elvis frowned and went ahead helping carter gathered the remaning roots.
