Osero approached the village, striding through the long grass. The hunter had his hands full, returning from a foraging trip through the island. He had managed to catch several of the trout that the surrounding waters were so plentiful in. Gutted already, they would need to be filleted and smoked when he got the chance. The new knife that Rahujo had given him was already proving to be much more effective and efficient than his old worn one.

He had also had the luck to chance upon a couple of rabbits feeding in the grass. His spear was ideal for fish hunting, but it was just as useful for catching game too. He had caught the two separately, in different parts of the island. Approaching quietly and downwind, he had brought them down before they had even realised. There had been a third, but it had noticed him in time and gotten away.

The pair of small creatures that he had caught had been looped to his belt. He had his hands full with the fish and his spear already, so he had to carry them that way.

As he entered Cetalu, he made a beeline for the Community Centre, accompanied by the smell of his catch. He would drop off the rabbits first, before going to prepare the fish fillets for whoever might want them.

Acia left the building with some trepidation. There were many people around and so far she'd easily avoided them. Now she was out of the safety of her room, forced to walk right across the village centre. Plodding lightly, tail bobbing as she walked, she crossed the village, suddenly catching the scent of fish. She slipped the note under what she was sure was the correct door, judging by both the layout of the yard (what with the staw and pond) and the smell of horse which she was familiar with.

Note

Dear Foenix,
I'm sorry I cannot give you a more detailed overview of the islands weather but here is what I know from my time here:

The conditions are similar to those of the Philippines and south-east Asian. There are seasons where it is dry but also a wet or rainy season. On Cetalu these are not o defined with deluges coming every month or second month and then dry preiods of up to the same length of time.
As such I'd reccomend plants which would grow in a climate of that ilk. I have included some articles with this in the hope that they may help you find what you need, I've been saving them in the event that we would gain a herbalist.

There are articles relevant for different areas of herbolody from cookery based to health based, some may even have magical properties.

Attatched:
http://www.philippineherbs.com/philippineherbindex.htm
http://www.culinarycafe.com/Spices_Herbs/
((Shamelessly harvested from google, they seems quite fully articulated articles))

As an aside, because of the fact that these Islands are quite small the soil is still very sandy, which some plants dislike. I will send Acia over tommorow (please let me know when it's convenient) to create several different areas of various soil types for Nehanda to explore and cultivate in.

I hope these will help in your endeavours,

Alyosha.

She quickly moved back towards the centre, much to Jorai's dismay, and was moving so speedily she nearly careened into Osero just as he, too, was going into the centre.
"ohh.." was all she could say, the breath knocked from her slight body.

Fae had sat outside her house the entire day sketching away in her journal of her surroundings. Her two Fenthry were playing sky-tag within perimeter and wouldn't stray too far. Ombre, having under-developed wings, wasn't as quick as her brother and was often left as the Fenthry it.

Fae sighed, finally getting bored. Where was everyone? Looking up to follow the two flying Fenthry, something else moving across the feild caught her attention. It was now darker out before and one of the only brightest lights was her glowing jar. A shadow of a much less bushy Aerandir, possibly, walking to and from Foenix's house. Fae continued to watch for a moment and wondered if the shadow had seen her. Hesitant at first, she saw another shadow exit the forest. This time she reconized it as Osero and her heart leaped. She had been looking for him! "Sage, Ombre, come here. We're gunna go to the Centre." Ombre fussed but they were soon perched on her shoulder, jar in her hands (providing light) and headed towards the Centre as each of the three seemed to do.

Quickly walking, she wondered if she could catch his attention before he left. But he didn't know her...still, she wanted to see his reaction. "Osero!" She called out.

Nyxa nodded, peering out at the horizon before twisting the kinks from her neck and glancing down at Luc. At the mention of Dri, Nyxa smiled, "Oh, she's doing okay. Typical preteen issues, you know. She'll grow out of them, I hope." Turning her attention back to her friend she smiled at Inle, "I'm glad Pavel likes the flower. Dri is impressed with my green-thumb, she likes my garden too."

Luc's tail thrashed again, his comb bright red. Beady black eyes peered up at Inle, a low, odd purring sound escaping his little body. Now that Inle was put back in place he clambered into her lap and huffed quietly, almost begging for attention.

Noticing Acia too late to prevent a collision, Osero took a step back as the smaller Aerandir bumped into him. With his hands completely full , he had no way of stopping her. Not to mention that it was a rare event to see her walking outside in the village anyway.

Regaining his composure, the hunter looked over to the lioness Aerandir with some concern.
"Oh.. I'm sorry Acia. I did not see you there. Are you alright..?"

Just as he finished speaking, he heard his name being called from behind him. Turning his head briefly, he looked for whoever it was that was shouting him.

Acia was about to open her mouth to say a word to Osero when she heard the shouting. One of the humans was racing full tilt towards them. Her eyes widened and a breath escaped her as she dived into the safety of the center, rushing along the corridors and back into her home.

Alyosha was asleep so she crawled upstairs, shuddering slightly at the fright. Her little Tupsu flitted about her, concerned and a little dazed at having been dragged at speed whilst it had clung onto the light Aerandir.

Fae blinked at someone taking off faster than..well than any person see's seen. Catching up to one of the shadows, she saw that is wasOsero and was glad he hadn't ran away. She caught her breath and flipped open her bag, taking out her sketch book and dropping Pueblo inside. "Hey, sorry for being so rude. I've been looking for you," she panted and shook it off. "My name's Fae, one of the Aerandir owner's you came up to but you left before I could say anything," she blushed a little. She pointed to her brightly glowing jar in her bag. "That's Pueblo, she's a barn owl/wolf," she grinned. "But I wanted to show you something that I made-for you," she said as she took out her sketch book and ripped out the picture she drew of Osero. She held it up to him, being slightly shorter than him. She hoped he liked it. ^^

As he turned, Osero spotted one of the human guardians pelting towards him. A split second later, he heard Acia's quick footsteps as she sprinted for the community centre. Turning back to where the spellcaster had been, he stared after her with an expression of mild bemusement. Flighty did not even begin to describe Acia.

Sighing softly, he turned back to Fae. Tilting his head curiously, he gazed at her for a moment. The hunter remembered seeing her, if only very briefly, the last time he had spoken to a group of the guardians.

After a moment, he nodded his head to her. "Hello, Fae. I'm guessing that you already know my name." He smiled faintly, his gaze flicking down to the artefacts in the jar. Another soon to be Aerandir. The smile still on his face, he looked back up at Fae, his expression curious as the picture was shown to him.

As he took in the drawing, his smile widened, his expression warm. "You made this for me?"

Fae stared up at the tall muscular Aerandir with anticipation in her eyes, studying him with her bright green eyes fogged by her glasses. She grinned a little at his expression and lacked words for a moment before she nodded. "Yes. Think of it as an early Valentine's gift," she thought carefully and went back to a calm smile. "You can keep it if you wish- I have a copy."

The Fenthries, however, were staring at this monster compared to them in almost fear. Ombre gripped Fae's earlobe and alerted the girl that they were even there. "Oh, these guys are my Fenthry; Ombre and Sage," she introduced quietly, not wanting to disturb this moment. She was extremley happy inside that the Aerandir had accepted her drawing.

Osero nodded his head a little before being faced with a slight dilemma. In one hand he was carrying a brace of trout. In the other, his long spear. On top of that, he would not wish to dirty Fae's work with slime from the fish. Paper did not wash, unlike wood and steel.

As he was considering this, he suddenly noticed the tiny winged figures accompanying Fae. Tilting his head, he stared at them in open curiousity. He had never seen nor heard of a Fenthry before. Smiling faintly, he nodded again before looking very slightly sheepish.

"I'm afraid I'll need to drop these off first," he said, indicating the fish. "Would you mind coming with me a short way or are you busy?"

Fae had just noticed this- the fish and spear and rabbits. She grined sheepishly back for not even realizing this. Noticing his curiosity in the Fenthry, she tensed a little. "I got them on the mainland at another preservation," she stated and let her hand down.

She noticed he liked the picture very much or else he would not have inited her along. "Nah, I've been honestly bored all day. I'd love to tag along," she nodded. Waiting to follow him, she felt a certain significance on this island.

"Oh.." The hunter nodded. "I wondered. I've never seen anything like them on the island."

Turning, Osero propped his spear on his shoulder, holding the shaft to balance it. Instead of going straight to the Community Centre like he had originally intended, he headed towards his own cabin instead. There, he could drop off the fish and wash the slime from his hands. Briefly shifting his dark wings, the Aerandir padded along, his steps almost noiseless. His thick tail waved almost casually from side to side as he moved.

Fae followed him away from the Centre, carefully mapping where they were going mentally and watched his tail. She seemed to be in a sort of trance before she yawned and noticed how late it was getting. But she didn't mind. She would continue to follow the hunter.

"Fae, where we goin?" Ombre whispered loudly and tiredly.

Fae's ear perked and she glanced down to her. "We're just making a quick stop with Osero here," she smiled. "He's another Aerandir," she explained in a whisper to the young Fenthry.

Ombre stared again, then let another loud whisper escape. "Oooohhh.."

Osero's ears twitched as he caught faint whispers behind him. Saying nothing, the Aerandir smiled slightly before stopping outside his small cabin.
Here, he set down the fish spear, propping it up against the doorframe. Reaching up, he found the lantern fastened to the wall and turned it on. The small light flickered, sending dancing shadows and light over the front of the cabin.

Osero then picked up the spear again and opened the door. The light from the lantern lit up part of the main room, revealing several heaped furs and blankets scattered over the floor, as well as the large hearth. The hunter stepped into the room, leaving the door open for Fae.

"I'll be back in just a moment. I need to put these fish into the kitchen."
The wolf/eagle Aerandir turned to head into one of the other rooms. The rest of the cabin was dark, but it didn't bother him overly much. He could see well enough in the dark for what he needed to do.

Fae stroked her Fenthry's heads a bit lovingly as they curled up into her bag, Sage taking his sister and flying down into the darkness of her satchel.

As they finally came to a stop, Fae's eyes widened over the cabin and absorbed it. She then wondered if he even had an guardian.. As he spoke to her again, she nodded and patiently waited outside, thinking to herself quietly.

She looked around the area- it wasn't as close to the centre as the rest of the people's homes were. It was more hidden near the woods. Fae shivered and took her jar back out so she could hold onto her warm Pueblo. It lit up the area she was standing in with a blow glow but curiosity got the better of her finally. She stepped up near the entrance of Osero's cabin and craned her neck but she wouldn't go inside of course without being invited first. She didn't really know what the Aerandir accoustoms were and perhaps she'd ask Alyosha that later. She looked at the many furs near the entrance but couldn't hear the hunter moing inside. He was obviously good at being silent even if he didn't mean to.

Finally, Fae leaned against the cabin and propped a foot aginst the wall. She looked down at the picture she drew of the Aerandir and fell into a somewhat sleepy stare.
