Kai smiled as Nalken continued to talk.
"What else do they do beside pillage without reason nor remorse? If they did so otherwise, they wouldn't be called bandits."

Kai continued to listen, paying attention as Nalken announced his proposal.
After Nalken finished, Kai scanned him over with a natural eye. A worried expression came to his face.

"You would be welcomed to join me, though I suggest you don't," Kai stated.
Pointing to Nalkens wounds, Kai continued "You are heavily injured. We will be traveling a hard road. You need time to recover and recuperate. As of now, the safest place for you is to just stay here, in the village, until you recover. Even bandits would not so quickly reenter the den where they were beaten by a lion. The people of the village will make sure you are tended for."

Aki couldn't think of anything he could say that would talk Nalken out of hiring them to take him back to his town. "All right, if you are sure can make it," he said. "Where is your village?"
"Aki, are you sure?" Hana asked.
"We're mercenaries. How can we reject a person in need?"

Kai offered the man a friendly wave as he walked out of the hut. Once the man was out, Kai slumped into the chair which he was sitting in prior.
Looking at the Prince, Kai sat silently. Then, after a few seconds of silence, Kai couldn't hold it any longer.

"Prince, are you sure it is safe to let him travel with us?"

"Prince Akihiko, I agree with Kai and Bjorn. I don't trust him. And we can't afford this detour. We must help the citizens of Faren, and to do that, we need to raise an army against Gailor," Hana said.
"I know. Faren and her people are my first priority. To be honest, I don't trust him either. But I don't see any way we could have talked him out of it. If a mercenary refused to help someone, that would seem suspicious, would it not? We'll just have to be careful about what we say around him," Aki told them.

A moment of silence ensued. Everyone seemed to be clouded within their own thoughts, pondering on the situation, and what they should do in response.

Kai was no different; He too was perturbed that now a known associate of Gailor is to be traveling with them for the next several days. They would have to be careful of what they say, think and do.
Or else our whole plan may get blown out of the water.

Standing up, Kai announced "Well, there isn't anything we can do now, the Prince has already agreed. We'll be traveling with the man whether we want to or not. Now, we could keep thinking over the situation, or we can perhaps get a good sleep from what is left of the night. I, for one, prefer the latter."
He walked towards a nearby staircase, which led to their rooms above (of course, Hana got a room to herself, being the female of the entourage). He stopped at the bottom, imparting one more word of wisdom.

"Remember, we've got to be careful of what we say and do; Perhaps even think tomorrow. I do not want us to be discovered while we still lack the power to oppose."
