Michael climbed up the stairs to his 2nd floor apartment, unlocked the door, and stepped inside. Ya know, it might not be much, but it was as much a home to him as any other place. For one thing, it was decidedly his. His stuff, his arrangement, his feel- it all said Michael. All you had to do was look straight across from the door and to the small aquarium with some fish and little plastic swimmer guys, to see that.
It wasn't overly messy, but you could see a gym bag in the corner, a shirt and jacket on the couch, some DVDs splayed out on the coffee table, and the like.
And immediately, Passion, his husky, came thundering down the hallway with a rather enthusiastic greeting. Truuuue, an apartment like this wasn't exactly the best home for a dog like her- but Mike thought he made up for it! He took her on long runs around the block a couple times in the morning, and once on most nights, as well as the dog park at least twice a week. She got plenty of exercise that way, as well as being around people and other dogs.
Mike grinned and crouched down, rigorously scratching her ears and ruffling the fur on the top of her head for a few minutes. That was when he remembered having received a text from Reese. He had seen it was from him when he went to put Rose's number in, but that had sidetracked him afterward.
So now he read the message and wondered if there was any point in answering, since it had been awhile now, but why not?
You could say that
was interesting
bet yours was
too eh?
With that he shut his phone and started stripping his clothes off for bed.
