"You do realize that there is a bountiful amount of meat in the woods just outside?" Edward said quietly as he opened the pantry, seeing very little, in the ways of the foods Edward likes to eat.

Edward just shook his head. "You do realize that I am the protector of the humans right? Thats what I have been doing for the last 300 years."

Salazar rolled his eyes. "Oh I forgot you were a good guy." Putting the words good guy in air quotes. "Fine, we'll go with your idea."

Kirai awoke at nightfall the next day. Pulling herself up, she rubbed her eyes which quickly adjusted to the pitch black room as if it were midday. Lighting a candle, she moved her body out from under the silk sheets, wearing a long white nightgown. Changing into a simple long dark blue dress with long bell shaped sleeves and a v-shaped neck, she braided her hair back and moved on out into the hallway, closing the door behind her. Silence.... complete silence, only the sound of the wind going against the windows and her feet against the floor spoke otherwise.

Kirai paced the castle, then, coming to a stop infront of the door to the room where she had Avarice's casket, she placed her hand on the door. There was no expression on her face or in her eyes, if... we had started a family, as you always wanted... or had a daughter... she would be around 200 now, right? She leaned against the door for a moment, feeling the cold wood against her cheek. It is of no matter I was actually older than you, for I age far less quickly than most other creatures... if we had been left alive, and able to age... how would we look together...? Still forever young, or just alike everything else in time...?

Kirai then suddenly, before pushing the door open, felt an ice cold chill. Everything froze, she saw Phantom, Edward, Salzar, all pushed into a single moment before she broke free of the trance and took a step back. She stared blankly, in clear shock, into empty space, then collapsed on the ground. That.... that was.... Using the wall as a support to stand up, she walked slowly towards the window, looking out onto the mountain. What happened... to cause that...? An out of body experience... now, as a nosferatu, and part of her soul that made her a strioii being dead... was unexplainable.
